Fantastic experience: I was not looking forward to physical therapy after my back surgery. However, it has been a very positive experience. Ned takes the time to listen to how my back is and tailors the workout accordingly. I can also say that he has pushed me just enough to advance my rehab without pushing too much and causing a setback.

They have helped me rehabilitate from back issues as well as currently helping me rehab from a recent hip replacement! Drew has been excellent to work with! He takes the time to ask me questions in order to really understand where I am on each visit and has offered me great help, guidance and suggestions on the things I need to do in order to get back to a normal healthy life! I really like the office environment, they have all the state of the at equipment to help but its also a comfortable environment! What I mean by that is it is comfortable, not stuffy like a traditional doctor's office or medical facility. It is a place I can go to and feel comfortable in doing my rehab! I have been to other doctors/PT's and their facilities, and since working with Drew and the Integrated Physical Therapy team I will not only only go to them, if anyone asks I only would recommend anyone who asks to go there! Fantastic experience: Dr. Eric has been a life saver for my 13 year old son. He has been struggling with recovery from a concussion for over four months. Since we got him into physical therapy he has done a complete turn around. His daily migraines have tremendously decreased. He is attending school again, and able to participate in his many sports. After working with Dr. Sam, I am able to run, lift, and bike daily with no pain. The stretches provided give me relief whenever symptoms flair up, and the initial dry needling and INDIBA machine helped reduce symptoms. I highly recommend working with Dr. Sam!

I injured my back while sledding with grandkids at Christmas, and finally in March decided what I was doing to deal with it was not working. Fantastic experience: I’m LaVerna Hoke and have been doing therapy with Von Glaser for about a year. I came in with lots of pain in my right knee, bone on bone, having lots of pain and taking pain meds. I had injections from Nova Intergrated Health and was having success with that, but my regular doctor suggested therapy and sent me to Von, with the therapy, exercises and Indiba I have improved to the point that I have little pain and have definitely strengthened my knee and legs. I would highly recommend him and the biggest thing you can do which I know is a true testament is to do the exercises they prescribe, make them a habit and you definitely will get better. He then provides you with exercises tailored to your needs. When you have questions, he takes time to answer them in a clear and understandable way. My pain has been reduced since I began my sessions with Von. I would highly recommend him!

Fantastic experience: I tore my meniscus and hadn’t been able to walk well since May 12. I’m 64 and did not want to rush into surgery. A good friend highly recommended Integrated PT, so I came in and was fortunate to get Sam Curtis. We’ve worked together for about 6 weeks now, and I feel more confident and I am walking with no pain for up to 11 miles at a time. Now I’m heading to France to continue my walk on a beautiful pilgrim’s path from Conques to Moissac (126 miles over 12 days). Sam was knowledgeable, kind, encouraging, and flexible. This was my first experience with PT, and I am very thankful for the help!

I came in for tennis elbow and lower back issues and Von Glaser quickly and efficiently developed a care plan and within just a few visits I experienced improvement. Fantastic experience: I suffered an Achilles Tear and I knew this was the place to go for my therapy recovery. They have arguably the best OT's and PTA's around the Des Moines Metro. They have quite a network of specialist knowledge as well to know where to send you in the right direction. I would recommend anyone to this place for surgical PT recovery, Sports related soreness or minor aches and pains. They do such a great job with their clients and that's big reason why they have so many repeat customers and referrals. I'd never go anywhere else.

Twice because i fell, and more lately because i injured my back and shoulder lifting heavy boxes while moving. They not only controlled my pain with the very first treatment, but restored the full function of my body quickly and effectively with just a few treatments. Fantastic experience: I'm a very pessimistic person and by the time I was recommended to Integrated Physical Therapy I didn't believe I could be helped. However beginning the first day the staff and Dr. Kristopher Van Houten were all open, friendly and helpful. He was always honest and upfront with treatment and what he could or could not do. Turns out just as stubborn as me . And continued to think up and try new things to help. I not only continue to go, I trust him and the staff. I also would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Fantastic experience: I was very reluctant to attend physical therapy but after two weeks of googling hip stretches, walking with a limp, and overall slow recovery, I gave in. I’m very happy I chose this place! The staff is very knowledgeable, kind, and attentive. My range of motion has dramatically improved and I’m walking a lot better. The stretches they’re showing me have actually helped, and this is coming from someone that HATES stretching. Also, I didn’t even know I could massage my scar tissue to relieve sensitivity and swelling. It looks a lot better now than it did before. With all that said, I’m very happy with the services provided here.

Fantastic experience: I first went to Tate Van Houten for physical therapy on my hip because it was very painful and I couldn't walk very well. We had a family trip to Disney planned and Tate helped me to walk all the Disney parks with my family FAR better than I ever thought I would! I then had a hip replacement and immediately went back to Tate and he has made a WORLD of difference in my recovery. I know of others who have had hip replacements that didn't do as well as I did and I totally credit Tate for that! Tate has a very through understanding of how and why your body's doing what it's doing and how to correct it. He's also very patient with me, listens very carefully to how things have been going and I never leave with unanswered questions or without a clear understanding of what I should be doing at home. I would, and do, recommend Tate to anyone with physical therapy needs! He's a lifesaver!

Fantastic experience: I drove from Kansas City to visit Integrated Physical Therapy on the 24th of July, 2019. Tate Van Houten is the therapist I had arranged to see because he is one of only 200 practitioners of a technique called postural restoration, or PRI (Postural Restoration Institute.) I spent a great deal of time studying the science online but felt I needed a practitioner to put it all together for me. The mission of PRI is as follows: “The Postural Restoration Institute® (PRI) was established to explore and explain the science of postural adaptations, asymmetrical patterns and the influence of polyarticular chains of muscles. Our mission is based on the development of an innovative treatment that addresses the primary contributions of postural kinematic movement dysfunction.” In my words, unlike most any other therapy you might receive, Tate and his crew understand the importance of posture and muscle imbalances from the inside out, meaning not just, “I have a sore knee or shoulder,” but he can tell you why it hurts or is underperforming from the perspective of our anatomy and the way our bodies are formed and work together. This means if your knee hurts, it is quite possible there is a misalignment going on in your foot or your hip, or some other part of your body that is causing it. Most of us are right side dominant, which I did not know. Our diaphragm on the right side is much larger than our left. Something as simple as this can allow those of us with incorrect posture to permanently twist our bodies to one side or the other and forever suffer the consequences of being out of balance. Glutes quit firing, calves take over, feet turn out, ankles get weak—you name it, postural imbalances are at the root of much of our pain and frustration. I am an older athlete, mainly a runner and cyclist. If I have an imbalance, it gets exacerbated by the thousands every step I take or revolution I make. For me, weak glutes from my body being twisted and out of alignment has caused meniscus surgeries, dead-butt syndrome, gate imbalances, bunions, and back problems. Isn’t it crazy that the thing we spend most of our time doing—living in our bodies—is the thing we know the least about? Integrated Physical Therapy and Tate Van Houten is your alternative. His knowledge seems endless to me. What’s more, he’s been able to retain it, speak it, explain it, teach it. He is a great guy and spent an extraordinary amount of time working with me to be sure I understood the principles behind what I needed to do to fix my various imbalances. He listened to my questions—and I had plenty—without making me feel rushed or that he was trying to get me out of there. He was truly interested in discovering what could help me and did everything he could to ensure I had a plan to make myself better. I left with a dozen handouts of really helpful exercises, along with information on how to do everyday things like sit, cross your legs, stand, work at a desk, and the proper way to sleep on your side. Fascinating! The office is conveniently located, the staff friendly, and the facility clean and well-equipped. If you are struggling to find a solution to pain, injury, or you just want to walk better or perform better at a sport, go see Tate. The choice to do so will be the best one for your body you might just ever make.

Fantastic experience: I've used Integrated Physical Therapy on and off for the last 3 years. I was treated a number of times by Tate Van Houten before hip replacement surgery. I'm currently getting physical therapy by him after significant foot surgery 2 1/2 months ago. After 8 weeks of immobilization, I started therapy with Tate. After a short time, he had me walking using crutches followed by only walking with a boot. I'm on the verge of eliminating a need for the boot. I can't express my appreciation enough for all the help that Integrated Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine has given me to get me back to health.

Fantastic experience: After stem-cell procedures on my knee, Regenexx advised that I go to Integrated PT and Sports Medicine. My experience has been positive in that my physical therapist is knowledgeable about stem-cell therapy, patient with an old guy like me and is able to answer all of my questions about my PT exercises and daily activities.
