Duke Pediatric Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Creekstone: Reviews
Negative experience: Hard to get after school appointments. Took son for handwriting help. They hardly helped with handwriting or with hand strength. They just wanted to focus on PT, not what he needed most.
Fantastic experience: This Place has been incredible in every aspect of my recovery. I was in a accident back in 2018 that caused the amputation of both legs and a range of complications on my left arm. I was in bad shape. Theresa Hallenen and Adam White came to rescue. I'm able to walk on my Prosthetics full time and I have full use of my arm. Thanks to them I'm living life without limitations.
Fantastic experience: This is a wonderful place for pt/ot.The main therapy area is an open concept, so you can see all the therapy stations. They have private rooms, too. Everyone there seems to have a friendly personally. I've worked with a couple of different therapists -- they each were knowledgeable and patient. I especially loved talking to Theresa Hallenen when I'd visit. She wasn't my therapist, but the made the whole office seem happy. Friendly, funny, sweet, sincere, attentive .... there aren't enough good adjectives for that lady. She makes everyone smile, and she looks like a great OT from what I could gather by her patients' reactions. I'm writing this in response to the person who felt the need to be an extraordinary grump in their review about Theresa. Don't be swayed by bad reviews. When people leave terrible reviews, I suggest clicking on their name so you can see the reviews they've left for other places. Surprise, surprise, they're usually all pessemistic and mean. Some people just enjoy complaining and exaggerating. Of course I'm speculating on the patient's personal experience with Theresa, but I SINCERELY doubt that it was as they say. She's the best!
Fantastic experience: Good facility
Fantastic experience: Sargent Bent is the best PT in the area that I have seen. I have worked with nine PTs and for the first time my shoulder, hip and ankles are pain free and allow me to operate as close to full functionality as far as I can remember. I also wanted to to give a shout out to the other therapists and employees working the days that I visited; everyone was extremely professional and helpful. The front desk staff were very very efficient. While I was being treated, the OTs - Ashley and Theresa (not sure about the h in Theresa) asked if the music was great and if there was anything they could do to make m visit more comfortable. IMO playing awesome music made the visit better. Anyone who gives this facility less than a five star rating is obviously clueless to reality. I saw a one star rating knocking their music selection and professionalism. First review? I bet you only give 1 or 2 star reviews.
Negative experience: This review relates specifically to Theresa Hallenen. I saw Theresa for hand therapy as a result of a fractured thumb from a car accident. While I think that she may know what she is doing regarding therapy, I found her attitude unprofessional and unpleasant. The first time I saw Theresa, she had loud rock music playing at her station. I told her that I found the music stressful, especially since I was in pain. For each appointment, she deliberately continued to blast her music, even though she knew that it was stressful for me. In addition, she wrote "prissy" comments in the notes associated with my appointments. These comments were completely unrelated to the treatment for my thumb, and I am in the process of having them removed or amended, so that the record is accurate. Theresa needs to be coached on (a) how to relate in a professional and compassionate way to patients and (b) how to write accurate notes that are part of a patient's medical records. I would never recommend Theresa to any future OT patients. Duke can do much better!
Fantastic experience: I utilized this location for hand therapy after breaking my hand wrist and arm. They were very caring I never had to wait and I felt like the rehab was very effective over a short amount of time. The even custom made a splint for my hand since they didn't have one that fit. I would highly recommend going to this location!
Fantastic experience: Great staff with a lot of great advise and practices. I worked with Jay and he was great at helping me figure out what caused my injury, and what exercises I could do to help avoid that in the future.
Fantastic experience: Super friendly staff who are more than willing to assist you as needed. I've been going here since before and after my surgery. The therapists here are extremely friendly and work with you to help you recover. They are patient, kind, personable, and all around fantastic. The facility is beautiful and well maintained. Easy to navigate and find where you need to go. You are greeted by the front desk when you walk in and it never takes long for your therapist to get to you. As you GPS, I've never had issues with it. Brought me straight to the correct address. If you're looking for a friendly place to go for physical therapy where the staff will work with you, this is the place to go.
