Anyone visiting this place must wear a face mask. If you believe you may have been exposed to the coronavirus, take precautions to protect yourself before seeking medical care. If you have an appointment, please check the visitor guidelines that are currently in place.
Our rehabilitation programs are designed to help you return to a healthy state and improve your overall wellbeing. We offer assistance to those recovering from a cardiac event (e.g. heart attack), heart surgery, or heart failure by promoting physical activity, a nutritious diet, and lifestyle changes. Additionally, we focus on helping those with lung diseases such as COPD and those who may need or have already received a lung transplant. Our programs emphasize achieving personal goals, regaining independence, and incorporating exercise.
Our building on Hillandale Road is 9,000 square feet in size and is located between Duke Triangle Heart Associates and Duke Asthma, Allergy, and Airway Center. Doctors from both of these places take turns providing professional medical care for people with heart and lung issues.
We offer classes that take place on a regular basis in small groups to teach useful skills, such as communicating with medical professionals, mindfulness and breathing techniques. We also provide support groups for people in rehabilitation and their caregivers.

Duke Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation at Croasdaile: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I had my first appointment at Duke Cardiopulmonary Rehab today and was beyond pleased with my experience. The front desk staff were so welcoming and friendly to everyone who came in. I had my first session with Claire (PT) who was very knowledgeable and encouraging. I am excited to continue with my sessions and optimistic of progress!
Negative experience: My husband was sent here for cardiology rehab. On our first initial set up, I was told they were happy I was with him. When we came back for the first rehab appointment, the two ladies up front were short and snappy at our arrival. We both ignored that and went on with our check in. One lady did not even want to explain how to use the scales to my husband telling him. Don’t touch them!! He was told to weigh when he arrived. She should have said. Let me explain how these work to you but she was rude. I sat in the lobby area while he worked out. I sat there for one and one half and people started coming in. The same two ladies at the desk screamed at me to leave the building and wait outside. I said. Why was I not told where to wait when I got here? They continued to wave their arms at me like I was nothing and telling me to get out of the building. This is very unprofessional behavior for a Duke facility and there was no communication with me during my time sitting there until they started waving their arms and screaming at me in front of several people in the area. I am not complaining about the quality of the program and I know my husband will benefit from it. All of the staff in the gym area appear to be quality people and care but the two up front do not and need to be taught people skills.
Negative experience: I took a client to the clinic for therapy. The personality of the staff at the front desk was not unpleasant but not welcoming either. There were no pleasantries. There was no greeting of “Good morning….How I help you?”. They really need to work on making people feel welcome. Patients are already dealing with enough. It costs nothing to smile and say a kind word!
Fantastic experience:
Fantastic experience: The wife and I are noticing a difference in my ability to move and the improvement its making on me. Thanks to all the staff that works there. Its the awesome staff that makes it a great place to go. Outstanding.
Fantastic experience: I recently spent time on life support and was hospitalized for more than 2 weeks. I came home and did PT here! In 5 visits I was performing like an athlete! Trainers are kind and highly qualified.
Fantastic experience: I was released from the VA hospital in Durham NC and sent here. It was the best recovery I could have experienced. I had a total left hip replacement. Everyone greatly appreciated me. I wish I could live there. 5 stars. And the food is great.
