Ed Detels has been providing hand therapy in Orange County for the past 20 years. He holds a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy and became a Certified Hand Therapist in 2002. In 2005, he formed a partnership with PRN to create California Hand Therapy, which has since grown to 11 centers and has 8 Certified Hand Therapists, making it the largest outpatient hand therapy group on the West Coast. Additionally, Ed has obtained his ASTYM certification (a soft-tissue mobilization technique) and has done additional training in custom splinting, kinesiotape application, and nerve mobilization. He is the proud father of three children.

Fantastic experience: This has been my best first experience with physical therapy. I was able to schedule an appointment for the day after I called and started therapy that same week. Convenient appointment times available, easy to make future appointments. The staff is attentive, supportive and kind. The facility is also nice, well ventilated and they have a lot of equipment. They are on the bottom floor of the bulding and easily accessible thanks to handicap parking right out front as well as access ways nearby. Would recommend.

Positive experience: The afternoon crew is great. Yolanda at front desk, Dr. Lin and all the therapist assistants I have experienced. Very welcoming crew. Friday morning group though, don't do anything to upset them. The front desk and Dr. Perez are like the soup chef in Seinfeld, no physical therapy for you, if you are late by a minute to their arbitrary cut off time for "full" patient care. I guess that is why most patients are senior citizens, they can meet this crew on their high horse's demands easier. I usually do afternoons due to work but even two weeks in advance, my normal Thursday afternoon was booked. I woke up at 5am to handle my required morning tasks to make the 7:20 appointment but alas California traffic had the trip take an extra 10 minutes more than my afternoon drive normally does. Front desk man let me know I was 1 minute late to his 12-13 minute cut off and would not be getting full care for my "high" deductible if I stayed and said to just reschedule. It's quite disrespectful to speak of my financials in an office that sound travels and even worse to imply that people who show up late get less treatment. Sucky thing is I would've woken up earlier if I had known the future possible traffic would mean I was going to be tired, late to work and without any care to show for it. But like the healing process of my elbow, I can not go back in time to amend my mistakes. There's a Starbucks across the parking lot, maybe treat your Friday morning crew to some coffee and cake pops.

They have great options for therapy including massage gun, different cream options to rub in, etc. They are really responsive when you tell them where your pain is and your levels to help you feel your best.
