Fantastic experience: I recently did vestibular therapy for equilibrium issues brought on by a first time bout of vertigo (BPPV) with Dr. Sidney Brown, DPT. She was absolutely fantastic -- my symptoms began to resolve after a number of sessions allowing me to fully return to playing tennis and running around after my grandkids. The entire team is friendly, kind and expert.

Fantastic experience: I just completed my rehab for a sprained ankle. Andrew my primary therapist, was knowledgeable, pleasant, and fun to work with. I especially like how he gave me printed handouts of my home exercises. I would highly recommend this lovely clinic to whomever needs PT.

Fantastic experience: If you suffer from lymphedema and have to wait to see a practitioner, or get on a waiting list at Medstar or Innova, you don't have to wait, and you don't have to suffer. Lymphedema comes and goes, but when it comes, you know it can be very painful. Compression garments just don't always do the trick - they're helpful, very, but couple the garments with physical therapy, and you have the winning ticket. While on vacation in October 2025, my arm lymphedema decided to explode and I couldn't control it with the compression garment. I was in such terrible pain that I decided I couldn't wait and needed help right away. I found The Therapy Zone and called - while on vacation - to ask for an appointment. I received a call back right away from Lori Anderson - she was certified in lymphedema therapy, so she understood the severity of my call. Lori went to work right away. She loaded my arm into the compression pump and afterward conducted hands-on therapy, massaging my arm and opening up the stubborn fluid blockages that had nestled on my wrist and elbow. What a difference she made. I've been seeing Lori twice a week since October and I cannot live without her PT and methodology. Her therapy has made my comfort level so much better, and best of all, I'm not experiencing the pain I had. Like I said, lymphedema comes and goes, so you must have a program in place for yourself to achieve the comfort you deserve when lymphedema flares. Fantastic experience: The Physcial Therapy Zone is a topnotch clinic in Old Town that offers personal service and one-on-one physical therapy. I worked with Dr. Andrew Drehoff on my knee osteoarthritis. I appreciated his positive, personal approach and the information and professional advice he shared on exercises and treatment options. The clinic's approach is to assign each patient to a physical therapist who will work with you at each appointment. My strength, comfort levels, and flexibility all significantly improved -- highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Lorrie Anderson’s PT, “the Zone,” is absolutely, hands down the best PT ever. The pt’s work with you 1-on-1 which is very rare. My mother had Parkinson’s & the pt’s were so good with her- she loved going to the Zone & worked so hard to walk and build up strength. I went to 2 other pt’s per my insurance. I got Covid at one place and the PT‘s spent maybe five minutes with me in 90 minute sessions. I called the Zone and they worked with my insurance so I was able to go with them. Lorrie’s dedication to helping my knee has changed my life! She’s used various different techniques (red light, needling, massage, stretching, a realistic exercise plan on a user friendly app, to name a few. I highly recommend going to the Zone for PT! Clean and friendly atmosphere, knowledgeable & educated professionals & the personal attention to each patient is exceptional. 5 stars for sure!

Fantastic experience: Look no further than The Physical Therapy Zone if you need PT for any reason. After a reverse shoulder arthroscopy, my post-surgery PT with Lori Alexander, MSPT DPT, was very well tailored for my recovery of range of motion & strengthening in just 4 months. Prior to surgery, I arranged for post-surgical PT based on my past positive experience with this practice. The one-on-one PT is so much better than every other practice I experienced. The home exercises are provided on-line in case you have a concern about your positioning. I also had a great experience with other therapists in this practice, Sydney Brown, DPT & Esteban Apodaca, MA LAT. It is a warm, welcoming & professional environment. The location is convenient, and street parking is easy. I am really grateful for the exceptional care I received at The Physical Therapy Zone.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Dr. Andrew Drehoff, DPT highly enough! I came to him with ongoing hip pain that was affecting my daily life and mobility. From the very first appointment, he was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive. Dr. Drehoff took the time to thoroughly assess my condition and explain everything in a way that made sense. He created a personalized treatment plan that not only addressed my pain but also focused on long-term strength and stability. Every session was purposeful, and he constantly adjusted the approach based on my progress and feedback. Thanks to his expert care, my hip pain has significantly improved, and I feel stronger and more confident in my movement than I have in months.

Fantastic experience: The Physical Therapy Zone knows its stuff. If I had stuck with the facility my doctor recommended, I'm fairly certain I would have spent the rest of my life barely able to bend my knee beyond 90°. I highly recommend Lori and her staff.

Fantastic experience: Dr Sydney Brown is an amazing physical therapist! She is professional, extremely knowledgeable, and really exceptional at gearing exercises to the specific activities the client does - in my case backpacking. She helped me strengthen my hips and glutes so my knees weren’t taking all the punishment on hard descents. I’m so grateful for her help and highly recommend her as a PT.

Fantastic experience: I love Lori she is the best made me feel less nervous about my pain and knew instantly what was the problem

Negative experience: I would be very careful about the services you need. I’m new to the area and called to make a chiropractor appointment and spoke to Lori on the phone twice to get something on the books. When I arrived and the front reception lady took my info, she asked me why I came in and I said for chiropractic care. And then once I met Olivia, the person attending me and she asked why I was here, I mentioned chiropractor care. Not once did anybody question what I was saying or mention to me THEY DO NOT OFFER CHIROPRACTIC CARE?! Had I not mentioned it again for the 3rd time at the end of the appointment, I think all they cared about was getting an appointment in the schedule. Olivia was really kind so I’ll give the office that but what a waste of money and time.

Thank you so much for the EXCEPTIONAL care and attention during my treatments at The Physical Therapy Zone.  When I came to you I was a senior in extreme pain, sleeping on the floor and walking with a limp.  I remember buying a shoe lift (that I never used) to help with the limp. I was afraid, uncertain and for the first time in my life I began to feel like a senior that had to accept this is as my new normal.  However, you assured me that my situation was temporary, and that it would get better.  Well you didn't lie! Not only has my spine issue been resolved, but my balance has improved greatly! You have made such a difference from then to now that I barely remember that awful time in my life. I'm back to long walks, the gym and living a normal pain free life. I want to thank you for always listening to my concerns, your steadfast support, and for simply being a guiding beacon as I navigated through my fears.  I am forever grateful!! I'm really going to miss our chats and visits, but sorry, I have to get back to living. :-)

Fantastic experience: I went to the Physical Therapy Zone for vestibular therapy and saw Dr. Brown. I am so happy to have found this practice. They are very welcoming, and the facility is conveniently located and pleasant. But most of all I was extremely impressed with Dr. Brown's treatment. I had been to another PT and they were unable to see me for a couple of weeks. I forwarded my records to the Physical Therapy Zone and Dr. Brown had clearly read them thoroughly before I arrived - that seems rare these days. Dr. Brown did a great assessment and her work with me that first day resolved things quickly. I have been recommending this practice to my friends.

Fantastic experience: My review disappeared so leaving one again - that’s how much I appreciate these guys. After I tore my Achilles playing winter soccer, things initially looked grim. But, thanks to Esteban and the rest of the crew at TPTZ (shout out to Lori, Syd, and Olivia), I’m now healed, strong, and running half marathons again (less than a year later). They take a sensible, multi-pronged, and measured approach to therapy…that allows you to safely reach new goals every week.

Fantastic experience: I was a very complicated case for PT following a routine LTKR. I am now 7 months post op and just delivered a boat to the Bahamas. Lori, Olivia, Sydney and Estevan enabled me to be able to deliver this boat with just one other person. The boat is the best therapy though. I’m moving 24/7. I still have pain and clicking in my knee but nothing like before. That hamstring is finally better. The quad is building and making me to do more.

Fantastic experience: My few months with Lori Alexander and her crew have been literally life-changing. In a few months, I have progressed from a walker to a cane to walking unassisted. Everyone at the Therapy Zone is professional, knowledgeable, and caring. Aside from Lori, I have been fortunate to work mostly with Sydney and Esteban. I have come to consider them all friends. The PT zone also has the added advantage of enabling me to support a woman owned, local small business.

Fantastic experience: I am beyond thankful to these two for their support and encouragement over the past four months. Their individual care and attention has helped me recover from my surgery both physically and emotionally. I always felt like I was their only client and was never rushed or handed off to an assistant. The environment is quiet and soothing and not overcrowded. Should I need PT in the future, they are my first and only call!

Fantastic experience: I came to address my plantar fasciitis. Esteban Apodaca was expert in his approach. It was immediately clear that he is professional, knowledgeable, amiable and has a good sense of humor. He pushed me appropriately and adjusted my treatment as I progressed. I experienced a lot of improvement and as a jogger, hiker and someone trying to lose weight, reducing my discomfort was important to me. Esteban hit the mark. I would recommend him!!

Fantastic experience: I feel so fortunate to have found The Physical Therapy Zone in Alexandria, Virginia at a time when I was in tremendous pain and needed immediate help to stand up, walk and sit. The owner, Dr. Lori Alexander (MSPT, DPT), fit me into her team’s busy schedules where other physical therapy facilities said I needed to wait for an appointment 3 or 4 weeks out. Lori and her team are professional and excellent physical therapists who listen carefully and provide therapy that is personalized to meet their clients’ needs at each session. It is not just a standard flow of exercises given to everyone. I worked with Dr. Olivia Seeley whose skills relieved me so much after my first session that I could walk and sit without the excruciating pain that brought me in the door. I noticed that everyone working there has the same compassion and professionalism that Lori and Olivia showed me. I recommend, with highest praise, The Physical Therapy Zone in Alexandria.

Fantastic experience: Lori and her team of professional staff changed my life in 90 days! I came to them after a hard fall and my arm and shoulder were almost immobile. After 90 days of twice a week therapy, I can say I am close to being back to normal! During this time I had one-on-one experience with Lori and each PT expert on her team and I did my homework….amazing and so thankful for their care and advice. I would highly recommend this team if you have an injury that PT can support!

Fantastic experience: I should have wrote this a year ago but every time I thought about it I wasn't near my computer. I also dont usually leave reviews because I never have time. Anyway Lori is the owner and the Therapist of Physical Therapy Zone. I found her last April while on a quest to find a more personalised and structured pt environment. I was fed up with commercialized pt establishments where the therapist have multiple clients at the same time so you're stuck with a tech that would rather be on their cell phone. This is where Physical Therapy Zone Beats out the competition. Lori prescribes personalised therapy that fits your needs. She even gives you homework and encourages you to do your part in order to have an optimum recovery. She genuinely cares about her clients and that makes a huge difference. Fantastic experience: Friendly, knowledgeable, thorough and skilled. The team at PT Zone is the one you want to work with. They were so helpful on my healing journey. I worked mainly with Esteban and while there were many ups and downs along the way, he was right there to pivot and develop a new strategy to aid my healing. You’ll be in great hands, with skilled people who genuinely care and have the facilities to cater to your needs. I can’t recommend them more highly.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with limited therapy sessions with Lori, and her associate Stefan. I definitely noticed some improvement with my Osteo arthritis in my right hip after eight sessions. I appreciated their care, range of therapies, and thoughtful attention in my hour sessions. Great experience, and I would definitely go back to them in the future.

Fantastic experience: I am an avid runner. I broke my femur on March 29th and had it surgically repaired with a titanium rod March 31st. I starting meeting with Esteban when I was released from the hospital in mid-April. I was clear with him about my goals to get back to running. He tailored a program for me so that I could get back to daily life and walking and - by the end of June - running! I graduated this week (early July) but will always be grateful for the treatment I got at the Physical Therapy Zone.

Fantastic experience: Came in with a bulging disk in my lower back, had difficulty walking and doing every day tasks. Esteban was phenomenal recommending a great set of exercises to get me back to health. I’m now 8 weeks post injury and back to my normal self.

Fantastic experience: I last used Physical Therapy Zone following extensive reconstructive knee surgery, and fearful of less than full restoration of range of motion; possible limp. Lori and staff proved again to be highly knowledgeable, skilled and reassuring. The proof is in the pudding. I move without restriction nor pain. This required commitment on my part, of course, but the outcome is such a gift! effective boot camp with - kindness.

Fantastic experience: 4 months after my rotator cuff surgery, I got my full ROM, thanks to Lori and Monica. Friendly and knowledgeable, they make sure you progress quickly without discomfort or pain. It was an overall outstanding experience for me and I highly recommend Lori and her team to anyone in need of PT services. Thank you ❤️

Fantastic experience: Great PT group. They have a portable wheelchair ramp because this is located in historic Old Town so there is a step. The restroom isn't wheelchair accessible yet, but they are working on retrofitting it. Very nice staff and knowledgeable about what you need

Fantastic experience: I've gone to physical therapy for more than 10 years. I've been to several different physical therapy practices. The Physical Therapy Zone is by far the best practice that I've gone to for physical therapy. It's a small practice that is privately owned. Lori, the proprietor is great. She worked at the Mayo Clinic and has her doctorate degree. There are not many PTs who have their doctorste degree. To me this shows her dedication to her job.
