Fantastic experience: I was a client of Solutions Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine. The most important reason for choosing this clinic was the timing, I work up until 6 pm and I was looking for a clinic which would take me after 6pm and Solutions is open until 8 pm. Berky was my therapist, she is an incredible lady and I would see her again should I need further help in the future.

Fantastic experience: If you are seeking help to get your postpartum body back in shape, then Meg is your gal! She kept the visits fun and was able to help me reach my goals earlier than planned. I highly recommend her expertise!

Fantastic experience: I have been coming here for some time due to a frozen shoulder, which takes awhile to unfreeze. I’m impressed with the care, compassion and skill of the Physical Therapists @ Solutions. Outstanding PTs such as Erin Baumann, Becky Markovitz and Julia Giaimo to name just a few. Also, the techs are helpful and knowledgeable such as Devin and Marlene. I couldn’t get thru my exercises without them. Becky Markovitz recently started up Bone Health class 2x/week for women concerned with bone loss. Her program is based off a study that shows improved bone density with strength training. I've worked with several PTs at Solutions over the past few years and she's definitely one of my favorites. Her knowledge of anatomy and various interventions coupled with her empathy, encouragement, and humor helped me push past the frustration that often comes when rehabilitating after a major injury. She's definitely one of the best they have and someone I'd work with again if needed again in the future.

Fantastic experience: I went to therapy to work on a left tibia injury that was constantly hurting and preventing me from running. Dr. Becky has been my therapist and she’s been great. Over the span of a couple of months I’ve had lots of improvement and have been running again. I’ve also had a session with Dr. Erin and she was great too.

Fantastic experience: I had an ACL reconstruction and some meniscus work. I was prescribed PT in order to get back to riding my horse, hopefully within 3 months. The people at Solutions were excellent and worked hard to help me make that goal, which I did! I can't say enough about how kind and understanding they were. Colleen and Kyler were both knowledgeable and wonderful to work with.

Fantastic experience: Excellent care and follow up with Erin and Asha, and the tech support. Progress is being seen with my mobility issue, and it’s because of their professionalism and expertise. The front desk is well run and welcoming. The site is spotless. All the staff, including the therapists, techs, and support staff are terrific! Erin is wonderful!

Fantastic experience: Superb therapists who are extremely professional and focused on the patient. They have treated myself and two of my sons, one of whom had three significant knee surgeries and he was restored to full functionality.

Fantastic experience: The physical therapists at Solutions are top notch. They figure out a care plan, gauge progress through measurements, and then make adjustments to ensure further progress. They are very methodical in their approach.

Fantastic experience: Worked primarily with Natalie (who has moved on), Asha and Megan who all helped me gain my confidence back after a serious ankle sprain. The last few weeks of my program, Megan helped me work on other areas that will assist my ankle stability long-term; I appreciated the "strategic" thinking. Very nice and accommodating staff. If I stayed in the area I would ask my doctor to refer me there again.

Fantastic experience: I have worked with 2 of the 3 locations (Old Town and Shirlington) since last fall for long-term bilateral knee injuries that culminated in two surgeries within six months. The PTs (and techs!) are knowledgeable practitioners with great personalities. What could have been intimidating post-op experiences have been made fun and encouraging under their guidance. I contacted them on a whim after my originally recommended clinic was booked solid, and am so glad that I did. With their direction and support, I’m confident that I’ll be able to return to a level of activity that I haven’t achieved in years. I trust them with all of my PT needs and so should you.

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough good things about Solutions. I broke my ankle terribly in mid-2024, and the staff worked so hard to make sure I was back at 100% with no limp in sight -- only a few months after my surgery! Very kind and thoughtful individuals!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at this location and their Alexandria location with Joyce. She really helped me with my pelvic floor and knee problems. My husband and young son also used Solutions PT locations for wrist issues and plagiocephaly respectively, and we've pleased with the outcomes for those issues as well.

Fantastic experience: Alec worked with me for 9 months after a sports injury left me with a broken radial head (elbow) that was fixated with a plate and screws. My surgeon warned me I wouldn’t be able to back to full extension of my arm and may have some mobility deficits. With Alec’s help, I was able to get full extension back with some hyperextension!! My elbow and wrist mobility are back!! Without Alec, I would not have been able to return to lifting. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to bounce back from an injury!!

Fantastic experience: From the team at the front desk, to everyone in the “gym” they are all so sweet. I have worked specifically with Christina and Marlene, and had nothing less than a great experience! First time for pelvic floor, and these two ladies have made the adjustment seamless. Truly listen to me, adjust based on feedback, and progress. I started coming here after going to another facility for regular PT and not getting results or resolution of pain. I was referred to this location for pelvic floor. This was the best decision. I could barely walk, let alone walk without pain when I started seeing Christina. Now I’m walking much better without the intense pain! It has been a long process for me, but glad to see and feel results in the right direction :) Thank you for helping me get back to a sense of normalcy!

Fantastic experience: Edited with 2025 Update: Since Natalie left the practice, I have been the patient of Dr. Danielle Minkevitch, who had been exceptional. She has helped me getting back to weight lifting, climbing, and running after foot surgery. Just this month, she interceded with skillful manual manipulation to break an agonizing gout flare and got me safely back to running within two weeks. Remarkable! • • • Dr. Natalie De Selding is the best physical therapist I’ve ever had and she’s changed my life for the better—before and after surgery! She’s highly skilled in many modalities and adapts to her patient’s particular life and athletic goals while making sure the whole movement chain is balanced and healthy for whatever life throws one’s way. Hamza and Marlene are fantastic therapy assistants: knowledgeable and efficient with very calm temperaments. The front staff has proved more competent than most medical providers’ scheduling and billing support I’ve experienced. Kudos to this excellent practice! I highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Because of the skilled care of the physical therapist and her team at Solutions Physical Therapy, I was able to progress from walking with a cane to full recovery after I hurt my knee. After four months of therapy at their Springfield office, I have never felt stronger. My physical therapist, Joyce Abiodin,, was able to gradually build up the strength around my knee to the point where my pain was gone. I cannot say enough about her excellent professional skills, but she was also kind and encouraging, she listened to all my concerns, leading me gradually back to full strength. Because of her positive instruction and problem-solving skills, over 4 months I gained back my full range of motion, which I consider remarkable, especially at my age (female in my 60s). She changed my life. No more limping. The entire staff at the Springfield office is welcoming and friendly. I absolutely recommend Solutions Physical Therapy, and in particular, “Dr. Joyce”.

Fantastic experience: I was an out patient rehab clinic director for 16 years and have had multiple surgeries over the years requiring post op physical therapy. Having used several PT clinics in northern VA for my rehab I can attest to the exceptional level of skill I benefited from at Solutions in Alexandria. There is no comparison to the personal attention, the manual therapy skills and knowledge base from any site in town that equals Solutions team.

Fantastic experience: Can't rave enough about this PT clinic and my amazing PT, Dr. Joyce Abiodun! I had broken my foot and pulled a muscle in my leg, so was not able to walk or stand for months. As soon as I was cleared to work with a PT I signed on with Dr. Joyce and she hit the ground running! Had me walking way faster than I had thought. Always listened and encouraged me. She is very knowledgable and an overall great person to be around! I am stronger than before, and can't thank Joyce enough for all her help! Have no hesitations and book with Joyce! She will get you right ASAP!

Fantastic experience: Best PT experience! This is not my first rodeo with sports PT (or my second, or my third.....), and Solutions impressed me right away. They take a data-driven, scientific approach to therapy, using objective measurements to measure progress. The staff are amazing, and Alec was fantastic to work with. I was so thankful that every visit was tailored, challenging, and totally different than my previous visit. There was never a formulaic approach, even with my take home exercises. Most of all, I left with the tools to prevent future issues and a better understanding of my body mechanics, which should be the goal for any PT. I will definitely be back anytime I need PT, and I highly recommend them to all in search of great physical therapy!

Fantastic experience: The entire staff are the loveliest, kindest, and most patient people I have ever met in health care. My physical therapist, Natalie, is so committed to my health and truly listens to my feedback. My twice a week appointments are like chatting with a friend and then doing a super hard work out. She totally cheers me on and makes adjustments all along the way. She is GREAT! There are two front-desk ladies that are wonderful. Always smiling and helpful. Super patient. And then the PT assistants, Hamza and a lady with super long braids (I am honestly terrible at names), are friendly and fun. They demonstrate the movements and are always available to help. Today is my last day of PT with Natalie and everyone, and it's a bit bittersweet. I am definitely stronger and have a ton of resources to help with my injury. I am so grateful for my time at Solutions and am so appreciative of this whole office. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Amazing team at Solutions! I tweaked my shoulder falling on the ice playing hockey and they set me 4-6 weeks for recovery. I booked for 1-2 times per week and they were very accommodating to my long work hours. My shoulder, after leaving, had restored mobility and strength much thanks to their mobility stretches at the beginning of the sessions and the exercises they assigned me for the hour visits.They also gave me exercises to do at home, which also helped me keep on track to recovery. Now I'm able to swim again, which I truly appreciate. I definitely recommend anyone that needs physical therapy to go to Solutions.

Fantastic experience: After months of femur pain with pretty much every movement, I can finally move without pain, even after only a few sessions. Alec has been great helping me with exercises to help. I can definitely recommend Solutions Physical Therapy

I think a big reason why is that, unlike others I’d worked with in the past, he took a more flexible approach based on how my body responded to different treatments and exercises. She was recommended by another PT at the Springfield location and I really appreciate them knowing how to get me into the right hands. Fantastic experience: Couldn’t recommend this office more! I have been dealing with chronic back pain for years and been to many DPT and nothing worked. But this place is amazing. Dr. Margaret McCandless is great at what she does. Dr. McCandless created a plan & adapt it based on my needs, concerns, & preferences, and they really take their time each session so I never felt rushed despite asking lots of questions. Dr listened to my concerns and expectations. They then went through different stretches and exercises that had noticeable results. They even emailed me a physical therapy plan for me to do at home. Highly Recommend this place. Plus their operating hours are great. Finally, their Front Office Staff goes the extra mile to get you a time for your appointment and working with your insurance.

It is a culture that promotes understanding patients on a personal level. I can’t recommend Solutions Physical Therapy strongly enough. I worked with Meghan Melrose-Smith and she is awesome. Her treatment plan for me was effective and she made the entire healing process as pleasant as it could possibly be. I found myself looking forward to my therapy appointments because I knew I was going to feel better afterwards.

Fantastic experience: Alec was a great physical therapist. My shoulder improved so much after working with him. I also appreciate how well the office is run. I never had to wait for an appointment.

Negative experience: Front desk is an absolute disaster -- they don't schedule anything properly, so even if you cancel and let them know multiple times, they'll be calling wondering why you never showed up... and then sometimes schedule you for other people's appointments! Fun times. Would also say if you have basic PT problems, this place is probably fine, but my experience has been that a PT takes you through an initial set of work and explains nothing about why you're doing an exercise, then aides take you through the rest of the exercises...this is incredibly unusual in the PT world. In my experience too there are very few modifications made to get to the root of your problem. I was doing a lot of work to strengthen my glutes for patellar tendonitis and turns out I actually have hip weakness and very strong glutes (not the core of my issue). I'm now seeing a dedicated PT who has identified imbalances that Solutions has never identified that will hopefully provide better relief for me.

Fantastic experience: Excellent from checking in to receiving PT with Meghan. Follow up instructions were clear and Meghan promptly answered questions via emails using an easy app which demonstrates each exercise she prescribed. Best PT I’ve ever had!

Fantastic experience: BEST PT, I have every used. As an active adult with multiple sports and workout related injuries, I have been to plenty of PT. Never have I encountered a staff that is so in tune with my needs! Can't say enough good about this business!

Fantastic experience: I suffered from TMJ pain for months. I saw multiple dentists, some who were ready to put in crowns on my healthy teeth. I also saw multiple PTs, many who just gently massaged my masseter muscle externally. After a lot of Googling and calling different PT practices that claimed on their websites to have TMJ certified therapists (upon speaking with them, they confirmed that they did not), I finally found Shira at Solutions PT. Shira is one of the few PTs in the area specializing in TMJ treatment (when I met her on my first appointment, she was just coming back from a TMJ conference and I believe she implemented some of the new techniques on me and they worked!). In addition to an effective jaw stretching exercise provided by another therapist, Shira did a number of manipulations and massage therapies inside my mouth that immediately relieved my pain and provided long-lasting relief. She made sure to learn about the daily habits that were exacerbating my pain, and provided great suggestions for improving posture and other stress-triggered habits. She prescribed plenty of helpful and accessible exercises and therapies (a combination of ice and electric stimulation) that have kept me mostly pain-free for months now. I also appreciated that Shira was ready to discharge me when I felt better instead of keeping me coming in for the sake of it. She and the rest of the staff are super friendly and helpful. I am planning on going back for treatment of different issue. Highly recommend this PT practice.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience learning exercises to help prevent future injuries. I worked with Alec after a small running injury and I’m very pleased with the individualized return to running plan we came up with. Hoping to have a healthy marathon training cycle for Chicago, thanks for the help!

Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Christina Smith during my postpartum recovery and she’s fantastic. She makes me feel comfortable and confident throughout the process. All of the staff have been fantastic!

Negative experience: I went to this location at the recommendation of my physician, and was inspired by all the positive reviews, however, my experience was far from 5 star. Parking in the garage their email recommended was a nightmare to maneuver, the address location provided was inadequate to find the facility (apparently it’s outside of the building of the address provided). I followed all the instructions provided in their emails regarding forms to fill and what to bring, but still had to fill out more forms when i arrived. They asked me for my doctor referral form, which was not mentioned in any emails to bring, and when I said that I didn’t have it and assumed my doctor sent it, the therapist got very annoyed and had the receptionist call my doctors office. After waiting more than 30 minutes the receptionist told me I would have to reschedule because they had not heard back from my doctor. I had to reschedule two weeks out to get another appointment to fit into my schedule. When I asked about parking validation I was as told I should have just parked at the Whole Foods parking lot like everyone else! After leaving I discovered the parking was $15 for 1 hr and 15 mins and nothing accomplished. The office was a zoo with wall to wall people, and it didn’t seem like personal attention would be possible given the number of people and the open treatment space. To make matters worse, when I arrived home I received a call from the receptionist telling me they did in fact have my doctor’s order and it was a mistake on their part. I asked if they planned to compensate me for my $15 parking fee, and was told we don’t do that. Funny since if you cancel with less than 24 hrs notice they charge you $50. Seems to me I should be paid $65 for my time and parking expense. Finally the girl on the phone asked me if I wanted to reschedule even though I rescheduled my appointment while I was still at the office and she claimed there was no appointment in the system for me. Perhaps they were having a bad day, but at this point I can’t see myself returning back to this poorly run facility any time soon and will be asking my doctor for another option.

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend Joyce and the whole team at Solutions enough!! Joyce listened to my concerns and truly helped me feel better during our sessions and with an at home plan. I now feel equipped to manage my pain. Will come back if I ever have any needs for PT!

Fantastic experience: I came to Solutions Therapy for TMD. I wanted to try a more conservative treatment before committing to more than a year of oral appliances that would have costed me thousands of dollars. When I came in, I had ear pain, neck pain, jaw pain, and headaches. Most if not all those symptoms have been alleviated since committing to PT every week for 6 weeks and keeping up with my exercises. Shira is PHENOMENAL and so knowledgeable. She reassured me that my TMD symptoms could be managed the first day of my PT. She also is so friendly and sweet. The staff is also superb, and genuinely care about their patients. I’m overall very happy with my experience, and highly recommend Solutions!

Fantastic experience: Christina is fantastic! She is extremely knowledgeable and patient explaining the reasoning for certain pain and soreness I was having. I often felt she was more knowledgeable than some pain doctors I had seen about sciatic nerve pain issues, pelvic floor issues and back pain. She is the best and I couldn’t recommend her more!!

Fantastic experience: The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They were able to help me with my heal pain and provide me with the proper exercises and strengthening so I can do it at home. Worth going to Solutions Physical Therapy. If I half to do PT again I will use them.

Fantastic experience: Solutions physical therapy has been a great experience for me. My PT Shira has been extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and informative. My quality of life since going only a short few months has drastically improved from my general range of motion, stiffness, and pain levels. Shira is great and explains exactly how each exercise is going to benefit you and the target muscles etc you are working on. The front desk staff and PT techs have also been great and very friendly / helpful. Highly recommend solutions physical therapy
