LECOM Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center: Reviews
Negative experience: Everything about this place is so sickening they are going to be the reason people die! If you can avoid your loved ones coming here please for their sake do it! I can’t even begin to explain how cruel these people are to the patients. My grandmother was not offered one bite to eat by 5 PM. I had to come in myself to bring her food and they try to brush it off as the kitchen not getting her ticket. She has no dietary restrictions when I got ther Every person on that unit was standing around the nurses station They had not done rounds gave meds nor been in the room to check on them again it was 5 PM Whitney the supervisor should not have a job or be working caring for any person, young or old. The staff are doing the bare minimum to earn that paycheck and go home. The place reeks of feces as soon as you hit the door. I plan on getting a hold of the state and reporting I can’t believe the things I saw and the conditions these people are in I didn’t even want to leave I literally cried.
Negative experience: Poor staffing the don't care care abt the clients only abt them selves and if u have a stage 4 pressure sore then that tell u something bad place and business
Fantastic experience: Nice place, enjoyed the staff there.
Fantastic experience: Great Administrator and Staff
Negative experience: Staying for a little ehab after a few weeks in the hospital. I was there for about 5 weeks. For the most part the staff seemed to be very caring and interested in the patient's care. However, as is commonly heard in the industry, there just aren't enough employees to care for the quantity of patients (with the level of care that is needed) in these places. Housekeeping came through everyday, but usually only emptied trash and a quick sweep was done. There were dust bunnies behind anything you couldn't see from the door (until the night before my discharge and were told to do a "deep" cleaning, which according to that particular staff member, she has never done. This included the previous activities with the addition of a very irritated individuals mop job.) The paperwork one was given at intake had all kinds of activities and services that, when you questioned the staff about it, they had never heard of these things. Sadly, many things were not done properly and most people just turned their heads the other way. Meds not given properly (sometimes they just plain forgot to give me certain meds and sometimes they gave them a few hours before or way after the correct time. I know that these are med errors and are supposed to be tracked, but they are just signing off as given per instructions. Most of the time I was given my medication in a fairly accurate manner, but on occasion my insulin was given too far before a meal or way later than was instructed by the prescriber. The bell call system was very old and didn't completely work all of the time. And when it was working, they answered by coming in, turning it off, and leaving saying that they'd be back in a few minutes to take care of your needs. Many of us were forced to sit in our own filth for long periods of time. Sometimes hours. In my case, for three hours to be exact. We are helpless while we are there if we are bedridden. Thankfully I was only there for a short time, but many people live there until the day they die and it's just really sad to see. I did get the rehab promised (mentioning because some people said they didn't.) I found the rehab staff to be very friendly and conscientious. I hope someday this changes, but from this experience I am not too hopeful.
Negative experience: Charge nurse threw a filp bored at me. Hr did try to help but the DON is be friends with the son mother he is head of administration! Hes nice but Jenn(don) is HORRIBLE!!! Facility isn't clean seen mouse droppings in shower rooms!! Stacey former Don of pleasant ridges was the charge im talking about! She's ignorant and doesn't care about the patients!!! They leave lpns in charge of thr facilities too!
Fantastic experience: LECOM Nursing & Rehabilitation exceeded expectations in rehabilitating my mother with their compassionate and attentive staff. I highly recommend their services to anyone in need.
Negative experience: ..one can only hope we’ll having caring people when we’re old & grey. a shame this is what most of us prob have to look forward to tho :/ What a drag it is, getting old ..
Fantastic experience: I would recommend this nursing rehab center to everyone! The staff is wonderful, very caring and excellent at their job. They have taken care of my husband Steve for the last 6 months to help him recover from a rare syndrome. I have seen them daily treating all their patients with the care you could only hope for, like family. The facility is the best in our area for someone on a ventilator! We still have a long road to recover but I rest easy knowing Steve is in such good hands.
Negative experience: My mother sat for over 1 hour in filth before the nurses would help her out. She also doesn't receive the rehabilitation that was promised. The facility looks run down and the upkeep all over looks neglected majorly. The nurses are never to be found when assistance is needed. Also, the staff is rude when you ask questions about your family's Healthcare. Definitely stay away from this facility if you need any type of rehabilitation because they only let your loved ones sit and collect the all mighty dollars from the government.
Negative experience: If you would like for your family members to go unfed, unbathed, confined to a chair/bed for hours at a time whilst sitting in fecal matter and urine, then this is the place for you.
Negative experience: Dirty and deplorable. My friends father was here his socks were stuck on his feet never changed them had athletes feet so bad among several other problems that were neglected and ignored
Positive experience: No Comment...
Positive experience: I stayed at this facility as a temporary patient, getting rehab and readying myself to go home. My room was very clean and comfortable. The nurses were all spectacular! Gwen, Sandy, Dana, Jenna, the other Jenna, Danielle, and Cassie were amazing! The CNA’s who deserve a raise are Amanda, Tina and Rachel. Denise is also a good aide. The housekeeping crew, Josephine, was always very careful to keep the room clean and smelling good! The PT and OT staff?? Amazing!!! This place rocked my rehab! Thank you Naomi, Lexi, Gina, Laurie, Allison, Chris, Julie, and some others who I do not know your names!! Honestly these ladies are fantastic and caring! The Activity girls were awesome too! Always kind and always pleasant! The negative sides… the food. Horrible. The soups are good. The tuna fish is good. But I can never eat eggs, rice or chicken again. A few bad aides…. I won’t name them to embarrass them but honestly, they made the nights very long and uncomfortable. So I would recommend this place for Rehab.but I am very happy to be home. .
