Fantastic experience: My experience at MedStar Health was truly eye-opening and helped me better understand my medical condition and the specific exercises, stretches, and techniques needed to achieve positive results. I am especially grateful to have worked with Rebecca, a highly competent physical therapist who listens carefully, demonstrates excellent knowledge, and shows genuine care for improving her patients’ overall wellness.

Fantastic experience: I couldn't be more pleased with the care I received from this office. I had physical therapy for 3 weeks leading up to, and 4 months after, arthroscopic surgery for a torn rotator cuff. Recovering from this injury is difficult in even the easiest of cases. Lorenz Fortuno studied my MRI and medical reports, and coordinated carefully with my surgeon, so that every phase of therapy was exactly what was needed. Lorenz and Marvin Peraza gave gentle, empathetic care, explaining each stretch and exercise fully. I credit them fully with my surgeon, for what has been an easy recovery.

Hip was bothering me for longer than I would care to admit - but the team here was attentive and caring and helped fix me right up. Now if they could just provide robo calls that could yell at me to keep doing my home exercises. I've been to other PT places where you felt like cattle just being herded in and out - but here you got the individual attention you're looking for when on the mend, and you can tell the therapists care about their work.

Fantastic experience: If you need Physical Therapy, MedStar Health Physical Therapy is the place to go! I suffered a broken wrist while hiking and started PT at MedStar at their Springfield location after my cast was removed. Vanessa is the PT I worked with and she's fabulous. As a hand specialist, she not only provided me with a rehabilitation program at the clinic, but also a "homework" program that aided my wrist healing. I'm 6 weeks post-cast removal and my wrist function is nearly normal. The staff is friendly and go out of their way to ensure you're comfortable. Their office is convenient and parking is available and free. I highly recommend MedStar Health Physical Therapy.

Fantastic experience: I received great PT care on my left wrist from Jeanette H., the Occupational Therapist. She is personable and professional along with being so knowledgeable in her field. With me following the exercises she guided me through at the PT sessions and following them at home, I was so pleased in the improvement in my wrist after six sessions. I ask questions and she answered them all. Also all the staff is very friendly and professional as well.

Fantastic experience: I had a 5 star experience at MedStar Health Physical Therapy. I had treatment for tennis elbow and complete resolution of my arm pain after several sessions with Rebecca. She explained everything clearly and provided multimodal therapy to help me heal. The staff is very pleasant and helpful as well. I am grateful for the care I received!

Fantastic experience: Lorenz is an excellent physical therapist, who helped me with exercises both before and after my hip replacement surgery at the end of August 2024. With his help, I recovered more quickly, and was able to resume all of the normal activities I was engaged in prior to my surgery once I received a release from my orthopedic surgeon in mid-January 2025. Fantastic experience: A great group of professionals who were very Invested in my recovery from lower back surgery. Both Lorenz and Marvin patiently worked me through the physical and motivational therapy ie stretches, strength training and the importance of a consistent repetitive effort to assure a successful recovery. They worked with me over a 3 month period and I was able to return to everyday activities and now I am continuing the program on my own. This specific MedStar location has a very congenial staff, whom are kind, flexible in accommodating changes in schedule, and most importantly are experts in their field. I highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Rebecca (and all the other staff) was amazing. She was personable, friendly, helpful, and attentive. She knows her stuff, and she is able to teach alternative ways of completing exercises to meet patients at their current abilities. Even the receptionists were super nice and accommodating (both on the phone and in person). These guys are very understanding and are willing to make physical therapy as easy and accessible as possible for everyone.

Negative experience: Probably the worst medical care ever received. Check in went well enough. The OT called my name and led me to a table/chair. She did not introduce herself (V). I explained what was written in both my intake AND referral, , both of which were in her hand. She then, before touching me, inferred I had arthritis. I explained, AGAIN, my Xray and ortho referral stated no arthritis. I was then asked personal questions unrelated to my injury or ADL. I was FINALLY examined after 20 minutes only to deduce, I did not have arthritis, but a stretched tendon, which was also in my referral. I was essentially told nothing could be done other than to alter my ADL. Did I really need a $50.00 copay for this experience? Even if there were a treatment plan I would not return to or recommend (V).

Fantastic experience: Lorenz is the best physical therapist my wife has ever had He helped her so much. She has been through a stroke, major rehabilitations, etc. and he was the best. He helped her better than anybody in so many years and he helped get her better with the previous stroke problems even though that wasn't his job. He is a great therapist.

Fantastic experience: Lorenz was extremely knowledgeable. The program developed for me took into account the multiple health challenges I have faced. The questions he asked, the correct courses of action he recommended, and the deftness with which he handled a really picky, involved, somewhat pushy patient (me) was masterful. He put me on the course to recovery by empowering me to better rehab myself with the home exercises and suggestions for daily activities. Together, this sped my recovery and made me feel like part of my own solution. I would recommend going to him and the rest of the team in a heartbeat. They will take care of you and make sure you are taking care of yourself.

Fantastic experience: I have an issue with my shoulder I heard a lot of good thing from family about this medstar location specifically with Mr Lorenz I called for an appointment and I can tell from the first visit he is very professional and he knows what he is doing I used to have a lot of pain can’t even hold a coup of water but now feeling way better Mr Lorenz tried too many different activities to make me feel better I really appreciate everything he did ,highly recommend this med star location very nice people and very professional. Fantastic experience: I started physical therapy with MedStar as part of my recovery process after having back surgery. I’ve had physical therapy at other places before but MedStar was much more attentive, helpful, and effective than the rest. Rebecca was my therapist and she went above and beyond what I expected and not only helped me with the physical aspect but also to get over mental blocks I had going in. Her expertise in dry needling and cupping significantly increased my hamstring mobility and the exercises she taught me truly increased my day-to-day quality of life. Fantastic experience: Rebecca is the best physical therapist I have ever had in the entire life! And have been dealing with trauma since 1987 being a full contact fighter begging with a wrist fracture. Now I am battling many muscular skeletal issues surrounding my entire body from head to toe with the worst being my entire right arm, which basically requires every single joint to be either replaced or surgically repaired. She is a fantastic listener and. He is the BEST dry needling applicator that I have ever had the opportunity to work with. The technical skills that she uses far surpasses even doctors that I have seen in the past who taught people how to dry needle and who were my practitioners for years. I definitely prefer dry needling to the use of prescription narcotics for pain. The ONLY problem I will say is I only get to see her twice a week. Darn insurance. I wish I were rich again and I could come every day. lol. Thank you Rebecca. If you have not tried this amazing addition to your physical therapy then maybe switch to this MedStar, however, hurry because I take all her time slots ;)

Negative experience: Today I had second time appointment with physical therapist Ms. Jeanette as she told me on 10-25-22 we need authorization from your insurance if we not receive authorization by 11-01-22 we will inform you and will cancel your appointment. When I went for my appointment than front desk lady told me your appointment have been called. I told her it will be so nice if can call to patient. Otherwise I no need to drive. She told me I did call but you didn't pick up your phone today. I asked her did you leave a message for me? She said you're voice mail is not set up. I request her please call me wright now and put on the speaker. Than she called and started voice mail. I told her yes you are able to leave me message.Than She said I don't had time to wait your voice mail because of i was busy. Than she told me I sent you email today. I told her I don't check my email all the time only when I am free in the night than I check my email Phone is the best I check my voice mail when any one leave me message. Our conversation was smooth. I think office should call me day before and let me know We maybe need to cancel your appointment because of we didn't get any response from your insurance. So I no need to drive from Alexandria to Springfield for appointment. I waist my time and gass. But really hurt me when Ms. Jeanette (physical therapist) suddenly came and told me we can't leave a message for the patients privacy. Than she said to me if you want you can go somewhere else I can give you your referral letter. I keep quiet and became more sad. I feel, she own that business. She doesn't care to hurt anyone feeling. Other thing when patient go to in the office have to sign on one form if patient cancel appointment with in 24 hours than have to pay $25.00. My question when office cancelled appointment same day with in 24 hours. Why office not paying to patients? I think office should pay to patient same amount if patient came in the office than should pay time and gass also. If answer is only patient should pay I think it's not fair. Before I leave a office I told to front desk lady. Please call me when you receive authorization from my insurance. I don't know how Ms. Jeanette will treat me because of I am telling about my visit experience. If she not treating me nice than I will try to go somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: It has been a great experience. My therapist is very knowledgeable and willing to change appointments when needed. The assistants are fairly knowledgeable and step in when needed.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Medstar Physical therapy for the last 2 years for various issues. I always feel welcomed and everyone is so friendly. Lorenz truly cares about me and the progress I am making. I was supposed to go to a different physical therapy center and was glad that I couldn’t get in for months and was then given the choice to go where I wanted and I picked Medstar. Medstar will be the only place I choose if I need PT in the future!
