Mobility Project Physical Therapy: Reviews
Negative experience: A number of years ago I had a very good experience here where I was treated by the owner so I thought I would go back when I had a different injury. That was a mistake. I had about a half dozen appointments and was shuffled back and forth between four therapists who didn't seem to know what had happened in my previous appointments. Consequently I never really had a consistent program to improve my situation and never felt Mobility Project cared if I got better or not, which I didn't. So............I switched to another provider here in town and not only saw the same person every time, but they spent double the amount of time with me each appointment and wanted to see me twice as often. I then felt cared about and my condition improved.
Negative experience: Do NOT use this PT business. I had a prescription to be treated for one specific area of my body. But the PT was treating all areas of my body. Yes, I had other pain, but my prescription was for the worst of all areas. Some months in I had a new injury. I informed the PT and the other two working at the front desk that she was NOT to touch my new injury, that both my doctors said they would be treating the new injury. Once in the treatment room she insisted on performing a Spurling cervical compression test. I protested, and advised her I already had the test by my doctor and repeated both my doctors instructions. She proceeded to degrade both my physicians who had over 20 years experience each She claimed she knew more than them and had more training than they did. She then climbed up on the table behind me, grabbed my head and neck and pushed down so hard I felt a crack. Come to find out, she fractured my Styloid Process and now I suffer from Eagle Syndrome. I now choke and aspirate on my food, as well as my own silvia. The pain is excruciating and I can no longer sing, and my speaking voice has been greatly affected. Word of advice, if your PT will not listen to your doctors instructions, my advice is don't walk out, run out as fast as you can.

Fantastic experience: Always friendly and professional staff.
Thanks David! We're happy we can help!
Fantastic experience: I’ve had two providers and each time great experiences. Definitely recommend this PT practice.

Fantastic experience: Everyone at Mobility Project is great. They have been great to work with and truly care about you.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, Debbie! We are thrilled to hear that you had a positive experience with our team at Mobility Project Physical Therapy. It means a lot to us that you feel cared for, and we hope to continue providing you with excellent care in the future.
Negative experience: They charged me 270.00 for 2 cancelled appts. I called and left messages each time. I got nothing out of many visits. Each time, they would go over everything from previous visit, showed me what I could buy on Amazon to use at home and did not follow my surgeon's order. Don't go here.
Hi Liz,We're very sorry to hear that you were not happy with your experience at our office. We always strive to provide the best physical therapy services possible, and we always follow the orders provided by a surgeon or physician. Like any healthcare facility, we request 24 hour notice of cancellations, in order for our staff to have enough time to offer open appointments to other people. When appointments are no showed, or cancelled at the last minute, we're not able to offer them to others, who would gladly take the appointments if given the opportunity. We're well aware that many people in our community are facing excessive wait times to access healthcare these days. We take this very seriously, and apply a late cancellation fee or no show fee when our cancellation policy is repeatedly violated, because late cancellations and no shows prevent other people from accessing our services. In this case, three appointments were cancelled at the last minute, despite our staff repeatedly reviewing the late cancellation policy. As healthcare providers in Lane County, we're striving to provide the best physical therapy care possible to members of our community, and this includes ensuring that access to appointments is made available as soon as possible. This issue can be avoided entirely by simply providing our staff with 24 hour notice that an appointment needs to be cancelled.
Fantastic experience: This is the place to go for treatment!!!! After knee replacement and more than 12 weeks of treatment at another PT (via my surgeon) I was unable to gain the flexibility needed to walk correctly. My surgeon planned to do a second surgery to remove the scare tissue. I requested I try a different PT before we try surgery. I contacted Mobility Projects where I met the best therapist. She worked very hard on my knee. I started at a -17 and am now at and am maintaining a -2. No second surgery needed. I am so happy. I will continue to work with her hoping to improve even more.
Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience with us, Terrie. We are thrilled to hear that our therapist was able to help you achieve the flexibility you needed without the need for a second surgery. We are committed to providing quality care to all of our patients and are happy to hear that we were able to make a difference in your recovery. Please do not hesitate to reach out if we can be of further assistance.
Fantastic experience: Mobility Project has been a major force in helping me overcome some serious pain issues and improve my strength and (yes) mobility. Jacob is very attentive to my individual needs. His assessments of my issues were thorough and gentle. He worked with me to modify standard exercises to fit the level of what I could do at the moment, and then modify them again as I gained strength. He had helpful hints on how to better accomplish daily tasks at home. The front desk staff were also friendly and helpful.
Hi Janice! We're so happy to hear you're doing well and have had a good experience working with Jacob! Reducing pain, and improving strength and mobility is a cornerstone of physical therapy. Thank you for the kind review, we appreciate it!
Fantastic experience: The Mobility Project is amazing. Thank you Jacob for helping me gain my life back. I felt pretty hopeless against the hypermobilty issues and POTS and you've done a wonderful job at teaching me to pace, believe in myself, and correct my habits. I really believe I'm gonna conquer this and become a much healthier and stronger person because of the work you, Aaron and the rest of the team have done. Thanks for not giving up on me when I first struggled to get to appointments - you're all wonderful humans.
Fantastic experience: PT is hard this time around after having a shoulder replacement. But you got to work hard and get back in the game to better than you once were. Grateful!
You have worked hard and done a great job with your rehab Tina! You are on the road to recovery! We enjoy working with you in PT!
Positive experience: Before I started PT with Christine, I had seen a different PT in town, who likely aggravated my knee problem by simply following a "textbook" training methods without ever manually examining my problem. Then I went to Christine from a friend referral. She identified my issue - which was new - neither the previous PT nor the Slocum doctor ever mentioned. She did manual therapy for me, listened to my symptoms every time, recommended other adjustments (e.g. shoes), and gave me PT training exercises. Recently I feel like I can see that 100% recovery is possible. It took about 5-6 months of weekly PT. It's important to accurately tell the PT the symptoms. Christine listened and took a customized approach. She correctly identified my problem and patiently worked with me. I really appreciate her help. The front desk is OK. Just doing their job.
We're so glad you had a great outcome Meng! Here's to your good health!
Negative experience: Even though frequently lympedema is caused due to weight issues this clinic unfortunately will not be able to serve you unless your under a certain weight limit.
The safety of our staff and our patients is our highest priority. All of our equipment, including our bariatric treatment tables, have a given weight limit and lift capacity. For the safety of everyone involved, we are very careful not to exceed those limits. This is an important part of maintaining a safe environment for everyone and avoiding unnecessary injury.
Negative experience: Appointment scheduler, kinda' made the team take a hit. Never got an appointment, as 'Annie' was more concerned with how they were gonna' get paid, and what kind of insurance I had. Funnily enough, the VA referred me to their care. 'Annie,' took two weeks to follow-up, and attempted to schedule an appointment today, but I'm already under another's care. Guaranteed payments from the Feds., and they blew it. Big mistake.
Hello Thea LittleBear, it is unfortunate but you are mistaken, as no one by the name of "Annie" or "Anne" has ever worked for this company. Good luck with your therapy.
Negative experience: I experienced a odd tension with the staff on both my appointments, On my second visit my therapist was locked out of the clinic during our session (we were in a external office) and wasn't able to retrieve my exercise plan, then assured me it would be emailed to me and never was. Came there for help and healing and found very little.
Hi Bill, we're sorry to hear that you didn't have the experience you were looking for. When you arrived nearly 40 minutes late to your first appointment, the staff went above and beyond to rearrange the schedules of 2 providers to allow you to still be seen that day. During your second appointment, the provider ran your session longer than expected at the end of the day, to make up for lost time during your first visit. Arriving extremely late to your appointments makes it very difficult for your healthcare providers to meet your expectations.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Mobility Project Physical Therapy to anyone with some muscular dysfunction. I have been seeing Christine for about six months now and have made really good progress. I have shoulder issues which I tore up while teaching a kettlebell boot camp. She have given me the correct rehab exercises and I've been making great progress. Along with my shoulders getting better my golf swing has improved greatly and I'm playing the best golf I've ever had. I have chronic knee pain from multiple surgeries and with the corrective exercises and treatment they are giving me less pain. I have a tremendous amount of low-back stiffness and discomfort. While doing all the therapy exercises my entire spine has been getting more flexible and I'm in less discomfort. Many thanks to Mobility Project and Christine. Thanks a million.
Hi Steve, we're so glad to hear you have been feeling better! Thank you very much for the kind review!
Fantastic experience: My knee feels better after every visit love/appreciate the work
We're glad you had a good experience Jacob! Thanks for the review!
Fantastic experience: My experience at Mobility Project has been life changing! For the past 4 years, I had daily headaches and went to countless doctors for help. I was reluctant to try physical therapy, but I was out of options and had nothing to lose. During my first visit, Christine Bodner diagnosed my problem and gave me exercises, relief techniques, and lifestyle changes. Within my first week of seeing Christine, my headaches vanished. Each visit she did hands on work (massaged trigger points, helped guide my exercises, etc.), while also teaching me to understand how my muscles interacted to cause tension. After each appointment, I came away not only feeling better, but also having learned something new about my body and how to take care of it. Christine is extremely knowledgeable (which is definitely something you want in a PT) but beyond that, she took time to get to know me and my lifestyle so we could identify underlying causes of my headaches, realistic lifestyle changes I could make to improve my health (i.e. posture, office set-up, etc.), and genuinely cared about my progress. I highly recommend Mobility Project if you are experiencing any discomfort. Not only may you find relief, but also an understanding about your body and how to live pain-free!
We enjoyed working with you Mariah, and we are pleased to hear that you had such a good experience! Thank you for the review, we hope you are staying healthy and feeling good!
Fantastic experience: Highly professional. All staff very friendly. Christine skilled at tissue mobilization, postural instruction, exercise guidance and education. I would highly recommend their physical therapy clinic! Patty Kasper (Retired) Occupational Therapist
Thank you Patty! We enjoyed working with you and watching you recover from surgery. All the best to you!
Fantastic experience: I was seen at Mobility Project Physical Therapy for moderate lymphedema. The number of physical therapists in the Eugene who treat lymphedema is limited. My appointment was set with Ashlee Shupe, PT, DPT, CLT. I found her to be a willing listener who worked with me towards a successful treatment, understanding my feelings and providing me a treatment plan I will follow . She is knowledgeable, gentle and very pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend Ashlee and Mobility Project Physical Therapy.
We're happy to hear you had a good experience Terri! Thank you for the review!
Fantastic experience: The team at Mobility Project is professional, respectful and kind. Therapist Christine Bodner promoted my healing after a serious car accident that resulted in injuries to my torso and reactivated problems in my spine. Her approach, in tandem with that of another provider, increased my strength and improved my stamina and endurance for physical work and recreation. Christine was an attentive listener, careful observer and clear communicator, highly-skilled in her practice.
Thank you for the kind review, Amy! We enjoyed working with you! Stay strong and healthy!
Negative experience: Was happy with the service by Jacob but confusion in billing has left me uncomfortable especially after speaking with other therapy offices. I asked to self pay due to a large insurance deductible and paid the self pay rate and was later billed the additional amount due to them turning it in to my insurance at their insurance rate. Why did I pay the self pay rate at time of service if you were turning it in, which I asked them not to do. Called and spoke with Becca about this and she was not kind nor helpful and insisted she was clear. Felt like gaslighting, or an attempt to cover her mistake. They turned the additional over to a collection agency were I could not pay it, and let it ruin my credit or pay it which I ended up doing. I currently am getting therapy at a new office and the entire staff is kind and respectful. Your response of me not reaching out or communicating with your staff is a flat out lie. I spoke with Becca, as stated in the above review on multiple occasions about the issue and her response was like I stated above. The owner only reached out once after I had asked and I was unable to answer due to life. Frustrated and feeling manipulated I was tired of battling and paid the remainder.
Hi Shellie, first I would like to apologize for the miscommunication between yourself and our staff. Our clinic's policy is to identify and share with our patients all estimated out of pocket costs before beginning treatment. No one should have to deal with unexpected medical expenses. With that said, both our billing department and our management team reached out to you on multiple occasions to remedy the situation, but you did not call us back or return our messages. We pride ourselves on working with our patients regarding billing, however it's a two-way street, and our patients must be willing to communicate with our staff about any issues that arise. It is unfortunate that collection agencies are our only recourse when a patient does not meet their financial obligations, and we utilize them with reservation and only as a last resort. If you had chosen to communicate with us, we could have fixed the billing issue, prevented your account from going to collections, and saved you money. We hope you are receiving excellent care with your new provider and wish you well.
Fantastic experience: Thanks to Jacob and Mobility Project for helping me solve my back pain situation. I now have the information I need to continue taking care of my health. I highly recommend them.
Thank you for the review Christine! We're glad to hear that your back pain has been much improved!
Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience here and would recommend this place to anyone. I was not doing well and feeling very discouraged with achilles tendon pain, but after just a few weeks I am feeling a lot better and quickly getting back to every day activities. Thanks Jacob and the staff for your kindness and expertise.
Hi Ryan, thank you for the review! We're happy to hear that our care made a big difference and got you back on track!
Fantastic experience: Christine Bodner provides the very best personalized physical therapy in our region. She and her therapists provide manual therapy that is targeted to get you back in motion. She resolved a two year old issue with my replaced hip that no one else, including my doctor, could find a way to resolve. I'm pain free and have my life back. I'm so very grateful that I found Christine. She came highly recommended by another PT in Portland. I have worked in healthcare for 30 plus years and in my very educated opinion she and her team are the very best!
Thank you so much for the review, Jim! We're happy to have been able to help get you back on track!
Fantastic experience: Very, very good treatment and very knowledgeable of my condition! They are so helpful, courteous, and on time, always. I always feel welcome and know I will receive the best care while I am there. I have shared their information and my experience with Mobility with two of my doctors and they welcomed the referral as Christine Bodner is only one of two specialists here in Eugene who treats my condition. This is my go to place for all future PT.
Thanks for the recommendation, Cindy!
Positive experience: I had reached a plateau at home in improving my knee problem and was very pleased that Ashlee was able to decrease the pain and further improve knee flexibility. I would certainly recommend Mobility Project and specifically Ashlee.
Thanks for the review, Linda!
Fantastic experience: I suffered from back pain for so many years I lost count. Multiple injuries that I never fully recovered from compounded until I was taking medications almost daily. Over that time, I was given a wide variety of treatments by various practitioners and therapists. They all helped, but I wanted one thing to stick with that was guaranteed to solve the pain once and for all. Sound like magic? Well then, Christine is magic! Actually, everything she does is firmly based in science. Christine is very knowledgeable and intuitive. She clearly explained how my body mechanics and posture were causing more pain and counteracting anything positive I was doing. Although I felt like a small child learning to walk, Christine's personalized treatments and program for home care changed my life. As long as I follow what Christine taught me, I can lift heavy objects, (even bucking hay!), do physical house projects, garden, vacuum etc., all without pain. If I find myself slipping into bad posture and my back starts to twinge, I just self-correct and quickly feel good again. It is definitely worth the wait to get on Christine's schedule. And Shawn will do whatever he can to schedule if appointments become available. Thanks so much to both of you!
Hey Lynda, Thanks for the review! It has been incredible seeing your progress. So glad you're back to doing the activities you love!
Fantastic experience: I came here after 10 years of back pain that had gotten so bad I could hardly walk some days. I consulted with several doctors and specialists and spent countless amounts of money on various forms of treatment and testing - none of which helped solve the problem. Finally I called Mobility Project based on the good reviews and the fact it was only 3 blocks from my house. Best decision I've ever made. Christine identified the actual cause of the issue during my initial consultation (something that seemed to elude every other person I had seen previously) and we got started with an action plan right away. 6 months later I was discharged with a healthy back, no pain, a ton of knowledge on how to live healthier and treat my body better, and a great resource should I ever need help in the future. Sean and Christine are awesome and I would highly recommend this place!!
Hey Garrett, It's unfortunate it took so long to find the cause of your pain but at least you finally did. We are so glad to see you back in action and feeling good! Thanks for the review :)
Fantastic experience: I've had two hip replacements and am a very active senior still competing in sports and enjoying all of the outdoor activities here in Eugene: water skiing, snow skiing, racquetball, softball, hiking and fishing. Christine has been my PT and along with my surgeon have been instrumental in my recoveries. Understanding my goal to return to the activities I love, she has guided me successfully. You won't find a better PT in the Eugene/Springfield metro area.
Thank you for sharing your experience Ron! We are thrilled to see how fast you've recovered; truly inspiring to witness!
Fantastic experience: Great atmosphere and friendly people. Would recommend to anyone that likes great service!!
Thank you Brey!
Fantastic experience: Great place great staff very nice very helpful
Hey Becky, Thanks for the review!
Fantastic experience: Christine Bodner's treatment and guidance have been life-changing for me. I was headed for a life of constant pain and limited mobility, but thanks to a program of exercises and hands-on therapy, I'm feeling better and stronger than ever. Thank you, Christine, from the bottom of my heart!
Thank you for the review, Mike!
Fantastic experience: Christine has been absolutely amazing for my wife, following her second hip replacement. She was able to determine a much better course of treatment for her, than previous therapists. Not that they were bad, Christine is just at another level, thanks for being so helpful, and understanding. Sean is terrific as well, he does an awesome job scheduling, taking care of insurance, and helping to reschedule if something should come up. Thanks for everything, you guys are the absolute best !!
Wow, thanks for the terrific recommendation! All the best!
Fantastic experience: I recommend Christine at Mobility Project to the highest. Prior to Christine, my lymphedema (post-breast cancer surgery) was out of control, and caused nerve damage. After Christine and her wonderful expertise, wrappings and massage, my arm is much better. Christine and crew are kind, caring, supportive and professional. I will not return to anyone other than Christine.
Hi Jan, thanks for leaving a review. We are here to help anytime you need it...although we sincerely hope you won't!
Fantastic experience: I'LL tell you I've had 6 knee surgery and other then my retired past P/T.. These Ladies Absolutely ROCK!!! Caring and A Great touch Too.. Go see them for All your P/T.. I can't wait to go Again KK
Thanks so much Kevin! We're so glad you are happy with the treatment you're receiving :)
Fantastic experience: If you need physical therapy, I highly recommend Christine Bodner, PT, DPT, CLT, of Mobility Project in downtown Eugene, Oregon. I have had considerable experience with physical therapists over the years for various problems and she is the best! Recently she helped resolve a problem I had with pain on the inside of my calf which turned out to be caused by severe, chronic edema. I did not know that when I went to the doctor (who decided I needed physical therapy). I just knew that my leg hurt then. It does not hurt now, thanks to Christine! As a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT), she knew how to use a special, gentle type of massage followed by compression with bandages to reduce the swelling that had reached a point where it was damaging the skin. That problem has been resolved and Christine also taught me a lot about how to prevent that, and other problems, in the future. In addition, Mobility Project is a friendly place, well organized and efficient. Tary Tobin
Thanks Tary- it has been a pleasure serving you! We will miss your smiling face now that you're all better!
Fantastic experience: I am so very pleased with the care & treatment of Christine & Sean. Am thankful to have found Mobility Project!
Thank you for the kind words, Lynda. It is a pleasure working with you! :)
Fantastic experience: I waited to see Christine because she was worth the wait. I have been to many physical therapist and Christine has the knowledge that no other therapist has shown to me. She is thoughtful and carefully meets your needs. Don't hesitate to contact her today. Start feeling better now.
Thank you Michelle! We're glad to hear you're feeling good
Fantastic experience: The Mobility Project, is an amazing place to go, if you are recovering from surgery, or if you need to build up your strength again. Highly recommended!!
Thanks Brittany! Great job on your rehab
Fantastic experience: Christine Bodner is an excellent physical therapist. She is highly competent in a variety of techniques, and is well able to tailor her treatment regime for each individual patient. My particular case was unusual and difficult. When I first saw her, I was pretty much unable to do any exercise and had discomfort most of the time. Through working with her over time, I have been able to exercise daily and have very few issues. I feel incredibly grateful to her for the help she has given me. I couldn't recommend her more highly, and have done so with a couple friends, both of whom had positive experiences. Mari Dembrow
We are so happy to see the positive progress you've made! Thanks for the review and referrals.
Fantastic experience: I was extremely happy with the professionalism, friendliness, knowledge, and patient education displayed by the staff of Mobility Project.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
Fantastic experience: Severe tennis elbow had me out of work and unable to even pick up my son. Christine at The Mobility Project completely cured it over the course of a couple months through deep tissue massage, education, ultrasound, and an effective exercise routine. I can't imagine a better physical therapy experience and would recommend this clinic to anyone.
Thanks!
Fantastic experience: I have worked with Christine for the last 8 months. She has been a godsend each week for me as I deal with a chronic back problem. Works with my doctors to develop the best plan. Friendly, thorough and persistent- getting to the problem. I would highly recommend her!
Thank you for sharing your experience! We look forward to assisting you with any further PT needs.
