Fantastic experience: A couple days after surgery social services brought me a list of care facilities for post surgery strengthening. WHO ever thinks about these things? Not me. All the reviews were similar… reviews of these facilities are generally not favorable. I looked over the list for quite a while along with my kids. One night at Riverbend Hospital this older cna quietly mentioned Avamere on chambers. She said it was good, and that a friend of hers worked there. Maybe she was an angel. I don’t have a single negative thing to say about this place. there’s too many people to name, they know who they are. The nursing staff, the aids, housekeeping, the kitchen, occupational/physical therapy, management… THE STAFF IS TOP TIER! Absolutely first rate! The food was a pleasant surprise, I twice had lasagna that reminded my of my mother! I met a lot of people. Even made a few friends. People from far outside of Eugene brought their family members there… I experienced a few of these facilities when my parents would need care post op, in their later years. None this good. I give Avamere on Chambers in Eugene five stars. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to family and friends.

Negative experience: This facility is not run in a professional manner. They answer the phone "hello" in a disinterested tone. I always have to ask "is this Avamere on Chambers?" How about identifying yourself? I called because a friend of mine is in there and the phone doesn't ring in her room, therefore I can't get ahold of her to see how she is doing. I have been on hold right now for 19 minutes while someone was going to walk down to her room to check the phone? How hard can it be to get back to the phone and let me know they are actually doing something? Their customer service & unprofessional manner makes me question how well they care for their patients. Still holding..23 minutes. Unacceptable.

Negative experience: Thank god my buddy got and went back in the hospital before they killed him . Tha care was a joke not one person knew what the other told him he never seen a Doctor tho they said one would come in different days . The food was not fit for humane. If you love somebody don’t send them there

Negative experience: As bad as you can get. Uncaring management willing to risk people's lives for a dollar. Run away as fast as you can, all the bad things you have heard are true.

Positive experience: Amazing staff! Calm, friendly, helpful folks work here. Mom spent 5 days in post-op rehab. They kept her spirits up and everyone had a great sense of humor! She usually never had to wait more than a couple of minutes after pushing the button for someone to come help. They did offer a wide variety of food choices. Some definitely better than others. But all in all satisfactory. The facility itself is drab and run down. The furniture is old and it could definitely be cleaner. We went ahead and brought in cleaning supplies and cleaned the room ourselves and felt a lot better about it. Had it been perfectly clean, they would get a five-star review from me.

Fantastic experience: We were very impressed with the quality of care Steven received there from everyone the 6 weeks he was there from nurses to cma & cna's. Also the efficiency& caring of their Rehab team who diligently worked with him so he was ready to go home and to all the kitchen staff & good meals.

Fantastic experience: Due to the heavy care needs for my Dad at the very end of his life, we elected to have him admitted to Eugene rehab as a hospice patient. I cannot say enough about the professional care he was provided. My sister and I spent a lot of time at the facility during my Dad's last days and witnessed nothing but compassionate care. Negative experience: A family friend of many years is currently here and has been for 3 days and it's already awful. They are just trying to keep him drugged up. They haven't gotten around to do his x-ray following a hard fall in the bathroom yesterday. He is a fall risk and they keep letting him get up and walk to the bathroom on his own. They said they'd get him a bedside commode this morning and it wasn't until this evening that they finally brought it in. They take forever to answer call lights. There's no reason for this. If it was your loved one I can guarantee you wouldn't want them here.

Negative experience: Someone very important to my friend is a patient here and they have treated him with nothing but disrespect. They told him and the people that visit that since he’s on hospice care he can’t get an ex-ray. He waited a long time for them to answer a call light and when they didn’t he fell while trying to get to the bathroom because these people were too negligent to help him! And now they are refusing him any care for the fall except excessive pain medication. If you care about the people you are looking to get into temporary rehabilitation facility for someone you love.. do not

Negative experience: My cousin was just placed here for recovery after an accident. The workers had a ‘walk out’ and the company had to contract with an outside source. The staff were unable to respond to requests for help within an hour of a request. My cousin had to hear two other patients calling for help all night long. The staff members were kind, but in an impossible situation. This is a management problem. To accept patients and then not be able to fully render support is unacceptable and negligence. My cousin had family that could advocate for her, but others do not. There is a systemic problem here. Notice that their responses are a ‘copy and paste’ repeat, as I expect the response to this one will be. If you have a family member here, advocate and carefully monitor the help being given.

Negative experience: I would give this place zero stars, but Peg the nurse there was so sweet and kind, I am giving her a couple stars. My mom was recently a patient there, and I had to come rescue her because she had such a terrible night; she said there were patients across the hall screaming for help and no one would come. My mom pressed her call light and waited for someone to help her but it took forever. The company Avamere, whoever runs this place needs to do something about it -- it is a hell hole and I don't know who would want to bring their loved one here. Peg the nurse was kind in facilitating releasing my mother to me, so I thank her for that, but I could tell that she was stressed out because she had to work in an understaffed place. Whoever the owner is needs to get with it and hire more people! Patients are getting neglected.

Negative experience: First week there and our loving granny already had $300 worth of clothing stolen. Seems pretty weird that stuff turned up missing during the quarantine period where not even family members can visit.

Negative experience: $300 worth of my grandmothers clothing disappeared the first few days of her stay. My mother got a call from a caregiver asking for instructions on how to put on a compression sock. Absolutely unacceptable. This is getting reported.

Negative experience: The staff was nice and friendly. The facility was clean. Unfortunately understaffed which had them make mistakes with my medicine. I worry about the clients there that are unaware of these possible errors.

Fantastic experience: I don't understand the low ratings!! I spent 3 weeks there in June, and was delighted with the whole experience...except for the pain of a broken hip. The building is immaculately clean, the staff both competent and kind. The food was excellent, with lots of meat and cheese protein for healing. Both PT and OT spent extra effort to make sure I was able to handle life at home when the insurance ran out. There is a real family feeling among staff and patients. Later on,when I can no longer take care of myself, I plan to retrn to Avamere on Chambers.

Negative experience: Worst care facility bay FAR. Staff is unskilled, under trained and looked to be an average age of 19. Absolutely horrible care. My dad was in a car wreck and was sent here. They messed up his medication multiple times. My guess is employees stealing his medications. This resulted in him going into cardiac arrest. Not one caregiver there knew what to do. Everyone was incompetent and unprepared. Do not sent someone you love here. You will deeply regret it. Very dark, dirty stinky place to.

Negative experience: The experience I had at Avamere was horrible and very concerning! From my first day there they attempted to not only give me the wrong medication but then refused to give me the correct medication. I am also concerned about every other patient there who in my opinion are taking their lives in their hands when they enter this establishment! In a word....NO! Find another location for yourself or loved one!

Fantastic experience: So-- my initial review, which I deleted, was too hasty. They had a lot of trouble the first night figuring things out, getting pain meds coordinated which caused some anxiety as I couldn't do physical therapy without them; had been released from hospital several days early because I'd really been working the PT, etc-- but starting at 11 pm, the proper care began to flow. They also moved me to a far better room with a roommate who, like me, doesn't watch TV.. The care, attention and timeliness of meds since then have been without flaws.The Physical therapists and occupational therapists are phenomenal, as is the recovery/PT room. The CNA's and nurses are equally exceptional. And if you push the call button, they respond within reasonable time. The administrator came by to make sure everything was working properly, and at present, it is and I have no complaints

Negative experience: Staff answers your call when they damn well feel like it, obviously some staff isn't happy with their career choice, blatant obvious attitude, in my opinion just not the best place to choose if your disabled, in pain and need help....

Negative experience: My Mother was put there for a 5 day respite due to her dementia. Every time I went into to see her she didn't have her 02 on and was inconsolable, crying and saying they hadn't been in to check on her. I had to twice ask them to give her meds to calm her down. They are very uncaring here and no compassion at all. I wouldn't send my dog there much less my Mother ever again. They need to be investigated on how they care for people's loved ones.

Negative experience: I was transferred here upon my release from the hospital. My experience here was miserable. Patients were yelling all night long. TVs are also blaring all night. Call lights take forever to get someone. My room was over 90 degrees. Breakfast was 1 pancake. I was yelled at. I had no choice of where to go,but you do.

Negative experience: This place is hell on Earth the people are over medicatied so staff can be lazy people lay in bed calling out Help me I am determined not to leave my loved one alone in this hole I only wish I could afford better for her if you have a loved one here go visit daily to make sure they are cared for

Negative experience: My Aunt and Uncle are in the place. My aunt passed away but my uncle is still there. This place is awful. The staff will be really nice in the beginning. Walk you through and make all kinds of promises. In the end, they will be rude and hanging up on the old folks that try to tell them what's wrong. Walk out of the room and be furious when you complain about things that should not happen. Watch out for medications. They give the folks stuff to make them sleep. And they don't tell you. But the food, it's horrible. Uncooked bacon on a sandwich, runny pancakes not cooked all the way. Stuff you can't recognize. Not to mention they sometimes just forget to feed the old people. More than once they forgot my uncles food. This place needs to be investigated and fined. It's awful and if you put your family there. Make sure to be hands on. Or they'll die. My aunt was sick with pneumonia and they kept saying she wasn't even sick. We still wonder if she would be alive if they would have listened and got her in sooner.

Negative experience: Never seen a place where the staff cared so little. The food is horrid and sometimes you can't even tell what your eating. Nurses and CNAs care less than anyplace I've ever seen. If you love your parents. Do not take them to this awful place. If your family member gets sick, they just do not care. They will let them suffer for some time before they get help. BEWARE!!!

Positive experience: I don't think the 2 rating is fair the staff are all nice and do there job there are one or two that you have to prod at but all you have to do is ask and they will help you out if you want to run your moutb and talk down to them you will still het what you need but not as friendly. I think of what this profession puts up with i admire them. I had a problem the medic came grab a chair and asked me what she could do to make it better for me we talked made a plan no more problem. The biggest problem seems to be at night and cleanly ness I hope i never have to come back except to visit someone because that would mean i was hurt. Coffee isnt bad either Gary
