The Autism Therapeutic Services group consists of highly dedicated and knowledgeable professionals who are eager to help your child reach an exciting and new level of development. Our Cape Center Clinic offers individualized ABA Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy.

Speech therapy is used to improve communication skills, such as producing speech sounds, reducing stuttering, and increasing a child's ability to understand messages.

Therapy can be a useful tool to evaluate the requirements of your child and family, and develop interventions that are tailored to your particular situation to address any problems.

We are delighted to offer a range of treatments that can benefit not only your child, but also your family. Our experts are knowledgeable in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, and Speech and Language Therapy.

Our team of experts has been trained extensively to assess the specific needs of your child and provide customized advice on how to best meet those needs. Depending on the child, some may benefit from one type of treatment, while others may benefit from all the services we offer. We will help you decide what is best for your child and your family.

Our team of professionals not only has knowledge in providing therapy, but they also have a lot of experience helping you with the insurance process. Please contact our administrative support department to arrange a meeting to help you with this process.

In order to assist North Carolina families with children diagnosed with Autism, the Autism Therapeutic Services group has endeavored to make Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) treatment as affordable as possible. As insurance authorizations for ABA services are restricted, we comprehend the financial pressure it can place on families. As we wait for the North Carolina Government to mandate that ABA be a covered service for all insurance companies, we offer a reduced rate to guarantee your child receives the care they require.

Fantastic experience: Jessica Brown has been assigned to my son's case off and on for over 4.5 years. She's been both his ABA therapist and his BCBA. Her work has made a drastic difference in his behavior as she diligently tracks and adjusts his plans to the many seasons of his life. We greatly appreciate Jessica's commitment to helping our family. 5 stars for Jessica!

Negative experience: This is an unprofessional, disorganized company. I would recommend seeking another provider for ABA service. Today, this company sent a BCBA into our home who behaved unprofessionally and unethically. The BCBA did not provider her full name, and when we called ATS to find out the full name of the BCBA, the company refused to provide us with the name of the BCBA who they sent into our home. When attempting to discuss our issue with the company's admin director, the director accused my wife and I of lying. ATS sent a BCBA into our home, and when we took issue with the BCBA's behavior the company called us liars and refused to give us the name of the person who came into our home. So, if you deal with ATS you can expect to receive support from unprofessional supervisors, when you discuss your concerns you will be called a liar, and when you attempt to find out basic information such as the name of providers sent into your home you will not receive the information. ATS is comfortable enough to send a new provider into your home, but not comfortable enough to tell you the name of the provider if you have an issue. The people who work in scheduling and administration for this company are rude, petty, and unprofessional. Diana in the scheduling department is very disrespectful, and if you take issue with her behavior she will use her position in scheduling to make your child's life unpleasant by causing issues with your child's treatment schedule. If you choose to do business with ATS, you will beed to bend to the whim of Diana in scheduling or you will find yourself without a provider for your child. If you are comfortable listening to whatever rude, snarky comments Diana wants to make, you will continue to receive service from this company. If you have a basic respect for yourself, and you do not wish to placate petty, rude people to keep service then you would be better suited to seek therapy with another provider.

Fantastic experience: My Son has attended ATS, and I am so Thankful to have them! My son has done amazing, and I will forever be grateful to the amazing staff at ATS. I have never had any trouble with any of the therapist, receptionist or schedulers! Diana has been there for me so many times! She is the kindest and most respectful person. Every time I had a question, no matter when or what it was she was always there and willing to help. My son absolutely LOVES her. We are so Thankful for all the staff at ATS!! Diana thank you for all you do for so many families!!!!

Fantastic experience: I have been with the company for over 6 years and progressed from a BT to a BCBA. I received a lot of support here and mentorship. I am starting my PhD program this year and have gotten a scholarship from the ATS, which made a huge difference for me. I thoroughly enjoy being part of this company. Some of the reviews sadden me. I know many of "the whole stories" of the negative posts. Parents, we love your children and put a lot of effort into their success no matter how small. Applicants, remember that angry people are more likely to leave a bad review than the happy ones. Fellow employees, if you need help, reach out.

Fantastic experience: This has been one of the best clinics I have ever come in contact with. Every day I pick up my kid, he is more excited to go back the next time. The staff is extremely professional in every way. No matter what my personal concerns or issues are, they are quick to point me in the right direction for any information I need. Literally every question I had or concern I had, Diana was more than willing to assist and help me. She is extremely knowledgeable in her profession. She went above and beyond to help me as a parent, and I cannot be more satisfied with her or this company. I will for sure be sending friends your way ATS. Thank you.

Negative experience: For 2 years my daughter has been going to ATS and we had not experienced any issues. The therapists that have worked with my daughter had truly been a joy to deal with. What changed everything was when Jackie Butner involved herself unnecessarily. Initially my child had been diagnosed with high-functioning autism until recently. When I spoke to the BCBA about options and as to whether or not I should discuss things with Dr. Barry for a second opinion, I'd decided to do just that. Now, I am not upset with the BCBA as nothing I said was private. What I hadn't expected was for Ms. Butner to call and suspend services without the proof of the diagnosis having been removed! I told this woman I would post a review about what she had done as she claimed it was for "ethical" reasons. Then she left a message with me the next day. Not even 24 business hours had gone by before she she threatened to remove speech services after telling me that my daughter would continue to have them. After a return call was made, she removed speech services. This absolute pettiness in our case proves what employee reviews have said about upper management. I am disgusted that things ended this way. Very unprofessional, Jackie Butner!

Negative experience: This company is not an ethical company. My first red flag was when I received a demanding text message to rush into the office to sign my son's treatment plan. As if I was late doing something. My second red flag was when I went in (that same day), and the receptionist attempted to only hand me a signature page, and had to be prompted to give me my son's entire document to review before signing. Who the hell signs a document without reviewing it first. Especially something I have never seen before. I am happy I did review it. They falsified information in it. After speaking with the Patient Coordinator, Diana Landon, I learned that they were not going to be making all the changes that I requested. Therefore, I was not going to be signing it. I refused to allow them to proceed with goals that did not pertain to my child. I let her know that I would be requesting my son's entire medical record to be transferred to a new provider, and terminating services with them. I found out that they shredded my son's entire medical record....which means the written proof of what I stated in the Intake Questionnaire (reason for referral) which as also verbally reported during my Intake Assessment (which my emergency contact was present for the 2 hr evaluation for), along with the edits I made on the treatment plan, psychological evaluations, IEPS, medical reports I provided, etc....all in a matter of days, they shredded. Her response when I asked why they did that..."You said you wanted to terminate services. You did not start services with us. We do not keep medical records." Umm lady...Intake Paperwork, Consent to Treat, Assessments, etc...the Assessment in an of itself is a service. Last time I checked most states require service providers to hold onto Medical Records for up to 7 years post discharge. I am be a LCSW in Virginia and Colorado, and not in NC, but I still know what the hell I am talking about. I know an unethical provider when I see one. I do not trust this company at all.

Negative experience: Place is not for everyone and all the staff look worn down and lifeless. They did something strange and I’m not sure how I am going to report it to the IRS at tax time. Kids seem to love it there though, but I got a bad vibe from there and resigned after a week.

Traci Quail (Team Quail) 7 years ago

Negative experience: Terrible place! Not military friendly, and they will drop your kids services that day with no reason. We know the reason, because we were outspoken about the subpar care our kids constantly received, techs constantly bashing the company, and ignorance within the management. There are PLENTY of other good ABA providers in the area. I even once witnessed a family being rudely dismissed at one of the clinics while I was waiting to pick up my kids because they were at the wrong office. The staff didn’t tell them the right office to go to or who even to call, but it’s pretty standard for them.

Fantastic experience: Been with company for 4 years now and have watched them grow over the years. They worked hard to get a team in our local school to work with teachers and staff. She retained the same RBT for the last 2 years for all of her sessions and they were well paired. They also have SLP's who have been very easy to communicate and work with and family therapists. Hoping they can add OT's soon as well.

Rebecca Overstreet 7 years ago

Fantastic experience: Great choice for a young child with Autism. 1 on 1 attention and focused learning and behavioral skill training, there are speech teachers there too. They are looking for OT therapists to join the team though! They have a "Step Up" program which introduces classroom skills, help with potty training, eating and sharing, etc... In my experience, the ABA coordinator organizes his needs and checks up with you monthly. The team that works there are always smiling and their belief is that each day is a day they can change a child's life, so they work hard to help each kid every day. For insurance, you have to renew your referral every 6 months - 1 yr so stay on top of that.

Thank you, Rebecca, for your kind review! We are thrilled to hear about your experience, and we are grateful that you + your child are part of the ATS family!

Negative experience: This place is absolutely terrible!!!!! My child with autism went there. He loves his therapist and he loved playing there. The comments, negativity, and behavior I witnessed from other employees is disgusting! Children with special needs need different tools to be successful. The negative remarks about a certain tool my child needed was so hurtful! If they have negative remarks and disgust for a tool I can only imagine what they say to the children. I don't trust them with my child! It's extremely uncomfortable vibe. No one seems to know what, where, or who anyone is. We had an insurance and billing issue. My insurance sent them their check and assured them that I only have one insurance but that wasn't good enough for them. We are a military family and they felt they needed to "protect ourselves" from billing issues. This place is not military friendly!

Fantastic experience: The staff is wonderful. Everybody is so sweet and they truly care about the kids. My son has been going here for three years and we've never had a single problem.
