Our goal is to increase and support each person's ability to live independently, return to work, or continue their education. Although a brain injury can occur suddenly, recovery often occurs gradually - it is a time when McLaren's caring and experienced team can make a huge impact in the life of someone you care about.

The staff of the McLaren Neurologic Rehabilitation Institute have achieved national certification as Certified Brain Injury Specialists (CBIS) through the Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists (ACBIS). This certification is achieved by combining professional experience, education, and passing a written exam. This certification was designed to provide direct care staff and professionals with a strong foundation in the most effective techniques for brain injury rehabilitation.

People engage in a variety of activities in their daily lives, such as taking care of a home, caring for children, traveling independently, and accessing resources in their local area. Adaptive devices, modifications to the home or workplace, home-based therapies, or other strategies may be suggested.

Referrals to the McLaren Neurologic Rehabilitation Institute can be made by a doctor, family member, insurance provider, lawyer, or the individual themselves. Intake staff will evaluate the individual's needs and arrange appropriate assessments with our multi-disciplinary team.
