Each location offers a comprehensive array of physical therapy and sports medicine programs to help prevent, diagnose, and treat orthopedic injuries.

McLaren Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine specializes in a range of orthopedic issues, including total joint replacement (knee, hip, shoulder, and ankle); ACL reconstruction; ankle, hip, shoulder, and knee sprains/strains; and neck and back injuries. These injuries can be caused by everyday wear and tear, workplace accidents, car accidents, or sports-related activities. The Flushing facility is the only one that has a HydroWorx pool, which has a treadmill that is submerged in water and can produce jets for resistance. This pool is very beneficial for those with conditions that make traditional physical therapy difficult or impossible.

McLaren Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine, located on Elms Road in Flushing, Michigan, is staffed by certified Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Registered Occupational Therapists, and a licensed Athletic Trainer. The team has extensive knowledge and experience in treating orthopedic issues, fibromyalgia, and lymphedema.

The inpatient rehabilitation team is made up of physiatrists (specialists in physical medicine and rehabilitation), nurses, nurse aides, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapists, certified occupational therapist assistants, social workers, speech language pathologists and recreation therapists. Our inpatient unit has been designed to feel like home, and all therapy is provided here. Our clinicians regularly meet with the patient and their family to ensure that the patient's goals are achieved.

McLaren has six outpatient therapy centers to choose from. At these centers, people can receive care from a physical therapist, physical therapist assistant, occupational therapist, occupational therapist assistant, speech language pathologist, athletic trainer, social worker, recreation therapist, or psychologist.

For people who have difficulty bearing weight, have spinal problems, have had a stroke, or have had hip or knee replacements, the pool used for aquatic therapy may be a great place to begin their rehabilitation.

McLaren's physical therapy staff utilizes a comprehensive approach, combining exercise and strength training with manual therapy and other techniques to create a personalized treatment plan that meets the specific needs of each patient.

McLaren Physical Therapists take a careful approach to helping people with urinary incontinence. Exercises and surface Electromyography (EMG) have been shown to be effective in helping many patients regain control of their bladder.
