Fantastic experience: Wanting to share my 5 star experience with others that are trying to find a professional PT service in the Fort Collins area. Back in April I was noticing how limited my mobility was along with the increase of pain I was experiencing do to my own neglect. I decided it was time I should reach out to some PTs in Fort Collins and get an idea of what treatment would look like. From the first phone call to setup my first appointment to the last in September the team at Up and Running was fantastic to work with. I worked with Dr. Stephanie for all of my treatments/appointments. When developing treatment plans with her I got details on the “Why” behind each and every movement which was helpful for my own understanding. She is very knowledgeable so ask her all the questions or concerns you might have. Last thing to mention is the facilities are top notch. All of the equipment and the building are very clean. I am now literally back up and running due to the services from this team.

Fantastic experience: Connor has been great to work with! I hadn’t run a half marathon in 5 years and wanted to run another one as a now mother of two retuning to fitness with a history of 2 hip surgeries with some significant asymmetries. Getting back to longer runs was like peeling an onion with me - every other week a different part of my body hurt and Connor astutely adapted his plan for the day to fit my changing needs. He has great manual PT skills and provided me with lots of education that I didn’t know even as a PT myself. Last weekend, I ran my first trail half! Thanks, Connor!

Fantastic experience: I worked with Joey after my Achilles tendinopathy forced me to stop running almost completely. I had tried physical therapy in the past and was back to walking but didn’t think I would ever be able to get back to running regularly. I highly recommend Up And Running Physical Therapy as I’m now back to running 3-4 days a week. Joey is an exceptional Physical Therapist.

Fantastic experience: Conner is incredible! I came in with an injured hip and I was unable to perform any heavy lifts. Fantastic experience: The facility was brand new and well lit with tons of natural light, so nice fresh ambiance. Most importantly though, Conner Weeth helped me through and through! Conner was able to immediately diagnose and explain coherently what was causing my symptoms. He was an effective communicator and an effective and thoughtful teacher while guiding me through training forethought and excercises for appropriate movement and alleviating stretches. This guy is the real deal- he not only has the knowledge but also the ability to help you physically translate the practices necessary to make your life better. See him.

Fantastic experience: Connor is an awesome PT! I came in with knee pain that had been bothering me for months and I tried lots of different things but nothing seemed to work so I decided to get some help. It was the best decision I could have made! Connor helped me not only deal with my knee pain but helped me become the strongest and fastest runner I’ve been yet. He was very supportive through the process and checked in with me to see how I was doing mentally through the process. With his help I was able to not only finish my first ultra (Never summer 60k) which was the main goal, but also meet my secondary time goal of coming in under 9 hours and all without any knee pain whatsoever! Working with Connor has made me realize the athlete I can become if I invest in having help along the way. If you’re motivated and want to not only run injury free but stronger and faster than you ever have, working with Connor and the Up and Running team is a no brainer!

Fantastic experience: I was in a ski accident and broke my pelvis Jan 2024. Recovery took sometime but one of the best decisions I made was getting with Stephanie Hope at Up and Running Physical Therapy to help with my recovery. I looked at a few different companies and decided on Stephanie because of her videos showing her knowledge, energy and positive vibes. In person she is just like on camera, a great person to work with. For my first visit in April she evaluated my situation and set a course of therapy. Today was my last session and I can honestly say I am back to doing all I did before the accident. I plan on continuing many of the exercises that I have been doing because they're so beneficial and Stephanie tells me to contact her at anytime with concerns or questions.

Up and Running Physical Therapy Clinic - Fort Collins CO

Hi Ric, thank you so much for doing a review for us. You have been so lovely to work with and always bring a smile to my face. Youve been a motivated patient and have seen the positive results of all that work. WAY TO GO! I am really proud of your progress and I hope to see you out and about on your bike.-Dr. Steph Hope

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough about Dr. Joey at Up and Running PT! I’ve been rehabbing some chronic tendonitis in my ankle that has resulted from overuse and weakness. After seeing Joey for the last few months, it feels the best it has felt in about 5 years after following through with his recommendations and “back to running” program! As a physical therapist myself, I needed an expert to lead me to exercises and approaches I had not tried before. Joey was not only an expert but a very caring person who was genuinely invested in my recovery. Was so happy to be able to enjoy many miles in the wilderness this summer thanks to his help. Would refer any runners (or anyone!) to him in a heartbeat! Thanks Joey!! - Tina

Tina, Thank you so much for the kind review! Seriously, pleasure is all mine. Fantastic experience: I initially came in to see Joey for managing some back pain that I started to experience and not only did he help provide immediate relief for that pain with dry needling, his exercises and protocol helped identify areas of weakness that improved my trail running strength and helped me have one of my better seasons of racing. The exercises that I have learned from Joey are something that I plan on continuing to utilize to keep up specific areas of strength and to help avoid future problems. Over the course of a long triathlon and running career I've seen a lot of PTs and I couldn't recommend Joey enough!

Up and Running Physical Therapy Clinic - Fort Collins CO

Kyle, you absolutely crushed your rehab in the same manner that you crushed your last 2 important races! Thank you for the kind words my friend. Hope you and the family are doing great. -Joey

Fantastic experience: PT with Stephanie has dramatically improved my life! After hurting my back, I kept reinjuring myself while working out, so I gave up. After being largely inactive for over a year, Stephanie got me exercising with a focus to strengthen my weak areas that were causing my injuries. I'm no longer afraid to pick up and play with my kids or work out. Thank you Stephanie!

Up and Running Physical Therapy Clinic - Fort Collins CO

Jeff, thank you for the great review. You are so fun to treat! I have really enjoyed hearing stories about your wonderful kiddos but more importantly, I so loved helping you get stronger so you can make even more memories with them without fear of injury. Fantastic experience: I came to them for persistent knee pain during marathon training, they were able to get me in quickly and resolve the issue. Throughout training, they not only addressed my knee pain but also managed any other issues that arose helping me complete my first marathon on the 3rd attempt. I continue to work with them to address any problems that may arise as well as using their tailored strength plan to improve my running and prevent injuries in the future. These guys have been fantastic to work with and I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I came here because my husband had such a great experience with PT for sciatica pain. I had been dealing with lower back pain for over two years and finally decided I needed to do something about it. Conveniently, I was also dealing with De Quervain (aka mommy wrist). Jen was the PT I worked with; she was so AMAZING! I will say the movements we started with were very basic, and I was a little skeptical, but she assured me to trust the process. I did purchase a package and came once a week for a few months. We incorporated exercises that helped get movement back into my body, posture, dry needling, massage, and then, towards the end, when my body was ready, we introduced some weights with movements. It was amazing the day I got to experience bending over without having to brace onto something. Sometimes, we don't realize how much we compensate because of chronic ailments. Needless to say, My wrist only took a couple of weeks to stop the pain, and my back is so much better! I am very grateful for Jen and all the knowledge she shared with me.

Fantastic experience: I knew right away that I wanted to do Pelvic Therapy after my birth. I had heard amazing things about therapy post-birth. I was so happy to find something so quickly. I started around 3 months postpartum. It changed everything for me! Stephanie is the best! I looked forward to each of my appointments. Not only was she an amazing PT, but she always was so welcoming and sweet to my little baby too. I am back to doing everything I love with no pain. Highly recommend, and can't say enough good things about Up and Running!

Jennifer, you are such a rockstar! You have been motivated and dedicated to your recovery after having your gorgeous girl. I have really loved seeing you get stronger and regain the confidence to do the things that bring you joy. I won't lie, being able to hang with your kiddo during our sessions was icing on the cake. I will miss seeing both of your beautiful faces but I am happy you are out there having all the adventures and feeling good!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Jen is great. I’ve bounced around to several PT’s in the past and she has been my favorite by far. She gave me all the tools to fix my back and shoulder issues and keep them working pain free without having to limit my high intensity activities. The other staff is great to work with as well, all very friendly and helpful!

Fantastic experience: I started working with Dr. Jen after 4 months of doctor’s appointments, x-rays and MRI’s for knee and hip pain. I had been passed around to a knee specialist, a back specialist and had been put in a restrictive knee brace for weeks. I was instructed by these doctors to stop running (not that I could) and reevaluate every 4 weeks. My pain was getting worse and I was getting very discouraged to the point of depressed. As a last ditch effort to continue my running journey, I searched the web for running specific PT. I am so thankful that I found Up and Running. Dr. Jen was the first person that I had seen that took the time to listen to me and develop a plan to get me running again. Dr. Jen diagnosed the root cause and developed a specific program for me. We started slowly with daily exercises. Within 6 weeks, my knee pain had decreased, and my strength had increased to the point of being able to do short runs. 7 months since my initial visit and I just set a 1/2 marathon PR, completed an 18 mile trail race and signed up for a fall marathon. I cannot recommend Dr. Jen and Up and Running enough!

Fantastic experience: I have been working with Joey at Up and Running PT Clinic since February to address a hamstring strain. I adore running and sought out PT as I would rather heal and strengthen my body through the use of my body (targeted exercises) than through medication. I have been thrilled with the results! Not only am I able to run again, but the exercises Joey has taught me help build strength, enhance flexibility, and balance my muscles. He is an excellent listener, a thorough professional, and a pleasure to work with. I wholeheartedly endorse this practice.

Thank you so much for the kind review Deb! So proud of all the work you have put in and where you are headed with your running. Lets get that 5k PR!

Fantastic experience: I'm so glad I found Up and Running PT! After having two C-sections, I felt like I had lost touch with my body-- as a former dancer and yoga instructor, this has been so frustrating. Dr. Stephanie has been working with me for the past few months, and she's helped me get my strength and movement back. She really listens to me and understands what I want to achieve, and tailors each session to my specific needs. I can totally see and feel the difference from week to week. Seriously, this place is awesome. If you're thinking about going, just do it! Your body will thank you.

Molly Douglas 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: I loved working with Stephanie! I learned so much from her - education about pelvic floor, exercises, and skills that will last me a lifetime to promote whole body wellness. I recommend it to anyone considering it, but especially for postpartum care. I think so often moms think we can hustle through after a partial recovery, but resolving pain and issues connected to the pelvic floor can be a game changer in feeling revitalized and capable after pregnancy, birth, and caring for an infant!

Up and Running Physical Therapy Clinic - Fort Collins CO

Thank you for the lovely feedback, Molly. You have been such a pleasure to treat and your little cutie tagging along was the sweetest bonus. I’m so happy you put in the work to reach your goals and regain your strength and confidence in this postpartum season. You’re a rockstar. I’m always here for you if you need me! Enjoy the summer!-Dr. Stephanie

Fantastic experience: I had been dealing with knee pain for a few years off and on before visiting Joey Przybyla at Up and Running. The knee pain was affecting my ability to enjoy and advance in my favorite hobby, refereeing soccer. I had quite a few things going on with my knee and Joey was able to design a PT program that helped to strengthen my knee and the surrounding areas which greatly reduced my knee pain to the point where I can trust that my knee will perform when I need it to on the pitch.

Up and Running Physical Therapy Clinic - Fort Collins CO

Chase,Thank you for the review! You were able to take all the advice and direction I gave you, couple it with high commitment, and ultimately eliminate your knee pain. We even had time to move on and address your chronic foot pain. Great job putting in the work so you could run and play soccer/referee again! Nothing I love more than helping someone regain confidence doing the things they love. Keep it up!-Joey

Fantastic experience: Dr. Jen is a phenomenal PT! Not only is she very knowledgeable and skilled she is personable, super supportive and a lot of fun. I have had decades of sports and car accident injuries and when a recent injury caused such severe pain I had trouble walking I was sure it was an old ankle injury. I saw on the website she did dry needling. I had this done prior in another city by a quick fix chiropractor and i thought that is what I needed. Jen quickly helped me discover that it wasn’t the ankle at all but the muscle behind my knee was seriously weak. This blew me away!!! Also, she taught me how to correctly load the muscles I had been “babying”. She worked out an exercise plan for me and with the cool app she is able to assign exercises, post videos, access messages, send reminders, etc. All this to keep me motivated and on track. She has dispelled many myths I’ve had about my capabilities and erased my own self limiting thoughts. I would have never in a million years thought I would be actually be “Up and Running” - literally running (or joggling, as I call it). She’s been my best cheerleader and she’s helped me overcome fear of re-injury which has helped me progress farther than I ever imagined (and be able to play pickleball 5-6 days a week without re-injury). I can’t thank Dr. Jen enough!!

Up and Running Physical Therapy Clinic - Fort Collins CO

Maria it was an absolute pleasure working with you. You took every detail of every aspect I taught you and ran with it, not only advocating for yourself but also pushing for more. I know you will continue to be strong and resilient in all of the activities you choose to do!! I hope you have a wonderful summer and play as much Pickleball as you possibly can!-Dr Jen

Jen gave me a great variety of workouts targeting my lower back, legs, and core that all work extremely well, and she has been very helpful and answered all my questions as well as given me plenty of dynamic workouts and stretches that I will continue to do moving forward! I highly recommend them!

Fantastic experience: I've worked with AJ as my running coach for the past 6 months and have progressed SO much as a runner! My ultimate goal was to qualify for the Boston Marathon, and over the past 5-6 years I've tried to challenge myself in training but wasn't progressing fast enough. When I decided to hire a coach I knew I would need someone to challenge my abilities without risking injury. I also wanted a hands-on and "available" coach since so many coaches are remote now. I am a remote client, but have definitely found the right fit for my needs since AJ answers all of my questions and takes special care to tailor each week's workouts to my current condition and performance. I feel safe knowing I can push myself to do harder workouts under my coach's supervision! I recently achieved my goal to qualify for the Boston Marathon (by shaving off 30+ minutes from my marathon personal best!) and am training for my first ultra distance race of 30+ miles with AJ's help! I've had a great experience and would recommend Up & Running PT and AJ to anyone looking to become a stronger runner or in need of PT.

Up and Running Physical Therapy Clinic - Fort Collins CO

What a great review! You're amazing. Seriously, thank you. It means a lot. I'm eager to see how much more you progress! With how hard you work, combined with your potential... I'm sure you'll crush the next race too!

Fantastic experience: I went to see him recently about a lower abdominal/hip flexor issue. A.J. was able to quickly identity the potential source of the problem and suggested some basic stretching and strengthening exercises. My abdominal strain started improving immediately and my hip flexors are no longer tight. On top of that, since the pain has lessened, I have been able to run more miles while getting better. A.J. is passionate about his work and I will definitely see him again should I have any more running related injuries. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ update on March 17, 2024 (Still 5 stars!) Shortly after moving to Colorado, I saw AJ at Up and Running for a lower abdominal issue that no other PT was able to solve. I saw immediate improvement, and the injury has not come back. Because of this I knew I’d return to Up and Running for any future running related injury. Earlier this year I started experiencing pain in my right knee that forced me to stop a half mile into an easy run. I knew making an appointment at Up and Running was my quickest path to recovery. Riley from the front office was great to communicate with and got me an appointment with Joey the same week of my injury due to the cancellation of another appointment. My first appointment with Joey was extremely effective. I appreciate how the care he gave me was completely aligned with my goals: getting back to running as quickly and safely as possible. He inquired about my running habits and experience while thoroughly assessing my injury; quickly diagnosing the problem as hamstring related. Joey gave me a few simple exercises to start with to address the issue and help prevent further injuries. He provided feedback on exercise form and the level of exertion I should be feeling while completing them. Importantly for me, Joey reassured me that it was okay to run with a little bit of pain so long as it stayed below a 2 or 3 and I observed improvement over time. He also gave me feedback on potential causes of the injury (getting back into speedwork too quickly, going an 18 mile run in slippery conditions my body was not used to). Since then he’s given tips to reintegrating speedwork safely into my workout which have been successful so far. I’m happy to say that since my first appointment the pain has gone away and stayed away. Even after how much it initially hurt, I only missed one run (which was before I went to PT). I’ve seen Joey for subsequent sessions where he’s given me more exercises, analyzed my running form while giving actionable feedback and has performed dry needling on my hamstring. Since moving to Colorado I’ve never regretted going to PT at Up and Running and view it as an essential component to my training.

Fantastic experience: I brought my young adult daughter to Up and Running for Pelvic floor Therapy with Stephanie Hope. My daughter deals with a lot of chronic pain and Stephanie's knowledge of my daughter's conditions and empathy set my daughter at ease right away. Fantastic experience: If you are pregnant and looking for a pelvic floor therapist, I highly recommend Stephanie and the Up and Running team. I came to them when I was in my second trimester with my second child. I had suffered from pelvic floor weakness after having my first baby (and receiving not great pelvic floor therapy from a different company). I wanted to get ahead of it this time and do anything I could to limit pelvic floor weakness and chronic pregnancy pain with our second baby. I saw the Up and Running team before baby was born and worked on pelvic floor therapy, but they also gave me plenty of great tools and techniques for labor and delivery. After having a second degree tear with my first baby, I delivered my second baby naturally with no tearing at all, and I attribute much of that to the breathing and pushing techniques I learned at Up and Running. Post-partum, there was a huge focus on getting back into movement early (and slowly) and incorporating pelvic floor work into my normal daily activities and workouts. I worked with Sam and then Stephanie for several months to transition back into my normal movements and workouts. 9 months postpartum and I'm back to deadlifting, squatting, and cycling. And I feel stronger now than I did after my first baby. If you are pregnant or postpartum, do yourself the favor of working with the Up and Running Team!

Thank you for the great review, Megan. It’s always good to see our patients thrive but I get extra excited when my mamas that I treat get back to their athletic selves, feeling strong and confident! You have done the hard work and the results are evident. Thank you for being an engaged, motivated, and fun patient! You were a pleasure to treat. -Dr. Stephanie

Fantastic experience: Stephanie and the team at Up and Running were very helpful and always friendly during my PT visits. The staff members were always in a good mood and seemed genuinely proud and happy to be helping their clients. Up and Running uses the latest technology for communication and workout routines. This made scheduling, workout reminders and accountability easy for me. I'm looking forward to a strong softball season after the progress made utilizing the tools and workouts learnt at Up and Running Physical Therapy!

Hi Evan! Thank you for this lovely review. I have had a great time treating you, challenging you with various exercises and troubleshooting that shoulder pain. I am excited for your upcoming softball season! -Dr. Stephanie

Fantastic experience: I found myself hobbling into the Up and Running office following months of persistent foot pain. I injured my foot during a trail run race, and after ruling out a stress fracture via X-ray and MRI, I was told that the pain was likely just tendinitis and would resolve with rest. That was not the case. Fast forward four months. After finding myself unable to push the pedals in my car without feeling a sharp pain in my foot, I felt that rest wasn’t helping the issue and that it was time to work with a physical therapist. In my first session with Dr. Jen Wright, she was able to determine what was causing my pain and how to fix it (spoiler: it was cuboid syndrome + overworked peroneal muscles). Four weeks later, I’m back to not only running, but trail running! PAIN FREE! That’s huge, especially given I’d spent four times that length of time impatiently waiting for this injury to heal via rest. Dr. Jen is encouraging, kind, curious, and perceptive, and I’m so glad to be working with her as I resume and work to improve at a sport I love. I cannot recommend Dr. Jen, the Up and Running office, and the physical therapy journey highly enough.

Fantastic experience: I came to up and running pt following an injury and feeling like getting back to baseline was going to be difficult. Joey has been amazing, I have had a structured plan that fits my goals and needs. With his support I have been able to work through my injury safely and get back on my feet. I honestly wish I would have been working with them sooner to build technique and improve my running overall. Through all of this I now feel like I will be coming out stronger despite my recent injury, I can’t thank you enough!

Fantastic experience: Man does this place rock! I am an avid mountain biker and I used to love running and lifting (spoiler, I do again!). Every year that went by since my late twenties I had increasing pain in my left knee and right hip, eventually getting to the point where I stopped lifting and running. Finally, I decided to go to PT. After searching online I came across Up & Running PT and booked my first trial appointment with Jen. I was blown away that in the first 20 minutes of being there she identified several potential causes for the pain I had been experiencing, all of which were validated by the exercises she prescribed. Within the first week of my exercises and stretches, I could already tell a difference in my pain and knew I was on the right path. Fast-forward to now, my strength is rivaling that of my 24 year old self, but this time no pain under load. I am now able to run again pain-free. I still have days where things feel tight, but with the exercises and knowledge that Jen gave me I feel like the sky is the limit in terms of the progress I can continue to make. Thank you Jen and Up & Running PT for enabling me to get back my activities again pain free, and giving me tools that I can use for the rest of my life. I highly recommend this business to anyone who is serious about PT and getting their active life back!

Fantastic experience: I worked with Joey and was really pleased with the experience. Up and Running has a strong reputation in the local running community, and deservedly so. I got personalized exercises with modifications to work on my weak zones. Over a series of appointments I saw growth in my strength and corresponding updates to my assignments based on my available equipment and time. I liked that I could ask all the questions I wanted, get the reasons why the exercises would help, and where to focus my attention when learning new techniques. By my last appointment I had a library of options to continue on my own. Up and Running and Joey certainly left me in a better place and I would recommend them to anyone either coming in with a specific issue or simply looking for areas to improve.

Fantastic experience: I am not a runner, nor consider myself an athlete, but exercise regularly at an aerobic dance class 4x/week. Recently, I experienced shoulder pain and ignored it for several months since it did not greatly impact my daily life, but only when lifting my arms above my head, and especially using weights. I thought it would improve over time, which was not the case. I contacted Dr AJ Cohen, owner of Up and Running, to see if perhaps my issue might be improved with physical therapy. He listened attentively, asked and answered my questions, and set me up with Dr Jen. Dr Jennifer was the perfect PT to see since she has an extensive background treating dancers. She was easy to talk to, attentive, and, after a thorough exam, assured me, with specific exercises (that included videos), I would experience relief- and, with time, full range of movement. I left that day with the information and the confidence that I would improve-and I have. Up and Running does not only meet the needs of runners, specifically, but any active person who has a physical challenge to overcome so they can get “up and running” and back to full health and wellbeing. I am grateful for Up and Running’s friendly staff, quality care, expertise, and a bright and clean clinical setting. I left knowing I was in very good hands with competent and caring professionals. And will not hesitate, nor wait, to seek their help in the future or recommend them to anyone who wants to pursue an active lifestyle.

Fantastic experience: As an avid hiker and recreational mountaineer, I dabbled into running in 2022 where I developed horrific shin splints almost immediately which disrupted my ability to run consistently throughout 2022 and 2023. Despite reading articles and books, my attempts at self PT proved futile. It wasn't until I relocated to Loveland by late 2023 and I signed up for a mid-February 2024 half marathon that I sought professional help at Up & Running PT in Fort Collins. I ended up seeing Dr. Joey Przybyla who conducted a thorough analysis during the initial session, detailing points of weaknesses then prescribing specific exercises to target those weaknesses. The second session included a treadmill gait analysis, providing excellent key notes and insights into my gait and recommendations for improvement. Subsequent bi-weekly sessions involved quick analysis, reviewing progress and modifying exercises based on evolving goals. I followed the prescribed exercises strictly and I experienced a notable improvement within few weeks. Running became consistently pain-free, more efficient, and overall faster. All of this allowed the successful completion of the half marathon at my desired pace, accompanied by no pain after the race. Initially skeptical due to almost two years of recurrent pain, I doubted I could escape the cycle of shin splints and painful calves. But in less than 3 months since my first session, I believe 5 in total so far, I continue to run pain-free, covering distances of 10+ miles effortlessly and recently achieving a personal record in a 5k. My advice: don't delay seeking a physical therapist like I did into your second year of running, especially if your problem persists or recurs more than once. Dr. Przybyla's expertise yielded remarkable results within couple of weeks. I'm immensely grateful and satisfied! I'll continue to see him to help me achieve my bigger goals!

Fantastic experience: Last year I started having knee pain that I thought was either due to running or a minor injury at work. I waited months for it to go away, but it just progressively got worse. I didn't initially consider PT because I have had a negative experience with it in the past. I've dealt with hip pain from running throughout the past 5 years, despite having gone to multiple physical therapists. At one point I was even told I should find a different sport, because running just "isn't for me." So when my knee pain started, I was definitely reluctant to try PT again. However, one of my good friends (who also happens to be an ultra runner) recommended me to Up and Running. She raved about them and said that they were able to diagnose her meniscus tear and get her through recovery without surgery. Since I had a hunch I was dealing with a similar injury, I decided to give Up and Running a try. I called to schedule an appointment and the owner (AJ) talked to me on the phone for over half an hour about my injury, my previous injuries, and my past experiences with PT. I felt like I was finally being heard and understood when it came to addressing how much this had been affecting me and my running. AJ scheduled me to see Joey, the running specialist at Up and Running. Joey has been AWESOME! During our first session, he spent a lot of time listening and trying to figure out what's going on. He made sure I was on board with the training plan and worked through the cost with me, which was perfect as I am currently a college student. I came in for my knee pain, but Joey spent a lot of time figuring out my hip pain and has even integrated exercises for it into my routine. Since starting PT again, I have been able to start a run/walk program that lets me run every other day (which is HUGE!). Being able to run outside again, no matter for how long, has drastically changed my mindset and my hope for running in the future. I meet with Joey every week, and each time he asks me about how the past week has been and if there are any exercises I can advance on. If I have questions throughout the week, I can message Joey and get feedback quickly. I really feel like my strength has grown tremendously and that I am finally going to be able to get back to the level of running that I have not been able to run at for years. Up and Running has given me a level of care and confidence that I have not found anywhere else. I would absolutely recommend anyone and everyone to Up and Running for any physical therapy needs, they are the best!!

Fantastic experience: UpandRunning PT has been really the best PT experience I've had as an endurance athlete over the last few years. Before coming into the clinic, I'd had some pain points for nearly a year that were extremely disruptive in my training as a cyclist and someone who loves to play in the mountains. Especially at the start of this year, I was unable to ride more than 20 minutes without knee pain, which led me to reduce my activity level each week while the pain continued to increase and seriously affect my daily living. In my first session with Jen, she immediately and skillfully identified key problems contributing to my knee pain and gave me the confidence to maintain my usual training load while making fantastic progress in reducing pain/symptoms. In just a month I've gone from avoiding using any staircases to completing bike workouts and spending solid days in the mountains! Up and Running PT's model of active rehab (rather than 'rest and rest more') is awesome and so effective - I'm so grateful for Jen for helping me improve so quickly and build strength and skills that will be invaluable long after my pain points have fully resolved.

Fantastic experience: I am so grateful for Up and Running PT, specifically Dr. Stephanie Hope!! Let me start by saying I am NOT a runner... I ride horses. I injured my back just a couple months before my biggest horse show of the year. I could barely walk, let alone ride. I knew I needed some help but I was so nervous to start PT and I was also apprehensive about coming here because again, I’m not a runner, and I was so worried I would be out of place and not fit in. Well that just wasn’t the case at all! I immediately felt comfortable in the presence of every person that I came into contact with at Up and Running. I felt no judgement whatsoever, only support. With the help from Stephanie and the program that she created for me, I was able to get back in the saddle and compete at my big show, pain free. I am so grateful for all of the help and support that I received at Up and Running!! Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I was diagnosed with a hypertonic pelvic floor in early 2022. I tried to contact other PTs in the area that I was referred to for this issue, but they could not get me in for months. I eventually just gave up. Until I came across Up and Running PT! They were able to get me in within the same WEEK! The receptionist was extremely friendly and took down all of my information on the first call. I came in to Up and Running with pretty severe pelvic and lower back pain from this issue. Dr. Stephanie was able to quickly assess my problem and give me corrective exercises/therapies to help. She also explained why each exercise was important and how it would help rather than just providing a checklist and telling me to complete them (like other places have done for me in the past). It only took 1-2 sessions/1-2 weeks of consistent work before I started feeling extreme relief! I really appreciated how each follow up session was tailored around what I wanted to do/felt like I needed on that day - corrective exercises, stretching, dry needling, etc. (very patient-driven appointments!). Also, Dr. Stephanie is extremely friendly and so much fun to talk to! The patient portal is VERY user friendly. Dr. Stephanie put all of my exercises in the portal with all the details including (detailed how-to videos, sets, reps, frequency, etc.). Today I do not feel pain/am not getting distracted with pain, and feel confident that when I have flair ups of pain I know how to properly address it! I could not recommend Up and Running PT/Dr. Stephanie enough! If you have pelvic pain of any sort and have been thinking about it, this is your sign to go for it! You will not regret it!

Wow, Lacey! What an amazing review, thank you. You’ve been an amazing patient. So motivated and consistent. You have done the hard work and the payoff has been awesome. Thank you for always being positive and receptive and bringing all the smiles each visit. I’m excited for you future as a dietician, as another passionate provider in the healthcare space - I know your clients are lucky to have you. Thank you again!-Dr. Stephanie

Fantastic experience: I started at Up and Running with Joey Przybyla back in June 2023 for sesmoiditis in my foot. I had been having trouble with this injury for about a year, and it was preventing me from doing one of the things I love most, running. I tried another physical therapist at a different institution with some luck in 2022, but the injury came back. It took me a couple of months to decide to try to find a PT specific to running. I read good reviews about Up and Running and decided to give it a try. The sesmoiditis was not the worst pain I've been in or even the worst injury, but it was tricky to determine what was potentially causing it and how to fix it. Before coming to Up and Running, it was mostly doing a lot of needling, trying different shoe inserts, and some hip strengthening. With Joey, we worked a lot on foot and toe mobility and strengthening, which was not something I had focused on before. We also focused on some hip and calf strengthening, considering the sorts of shoes I was wearing for running and walking, my running form, and some needling. I think all of the above helped me heal and gave me some great tools to take with me as I move forward in my running journey. I really enjoyed working with Joey. He was very professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and willing to hear my opinion and consider various options. I had about 10 sessions with him, and I no longer have pain in my foot. I'm back to running 10-12 miles a week and feel comfortable planning for some races soon. Running is my favorite way to decompress and exercise, so I'm so grateful I made the choice to work with Up and Running. I would highly recommend it for any runner, beginner or advanced!

Rachel, thank you so much for the thoughtful review! You were able to overcome foot pain that had been bothering you for quite some time and get stronger overall as a runner in the process. Keep up the good work and enjoy your new adventure! -Joey

Fantastic experience: I am an experienced ultra runner, and last summer I started having Achilles tendon pain. I had it once before, and was able to resolve the issue by myself, so I put off trying to get help and spent two months reducing my running and trying to heal it. AJ at Up and Running is a member of our local running community, and after speaking with him at a few events I decided it was time to get professional PT help. I am so glad that I did! AJ taught me so much about how to better understand and manage my symptoms while applying the appropriate amount of training stress to promote tendon healing. In fact, I had been so conservative in trying not to "make it worse" that I had likely cut back my running too far. Working with AJ gave me the confidence to get back to training, and he equipped me with the right strength routine and run training regimen to get me back on track. Part of why I didn't seek PT help sooner was that previous PT experiences were very time consuming - multiple visits a week to come in and do exercises. Up and Running is much more flexible than other PTs I have experienced. I signed up for a 6 visit program that we paced out over about 12 weeks. The time during visits was primarily spent evaluating symptoms/progress, teaching me new exercises, and discussing strategies for how to proceed with training. I was able to execute a lot of the rehab work on my own time at home, so that the time in the clinic was much more focused and valuable. Two months after starting to see AJ, while I wasn't yet completely symptom free, I was able to complete a rim to rim to rim run at the Grand Canyon! At the start of PT I did not think this was going to be possible. Towards the end of my time seeing AJ, I had a great training run in Lory State Park with no Achilles pain and I felt on top of the world. Unfortunately, over the next 24 hours I developed terrible pain in my patellar tendon, and I thought I was back to square one. However, I discussed it with AJ, and we talked about the right exercises to do, and ways that the path to heal and strengthen my patellar tendon would be similar to what I had experienced with my Achilles. Equipped with the tools & knowledge I learned at Up and Running, after 6 weeks of home PT and smart running I am back to 60 miles a week with symptoms under control. After this experience, I can't recommend Up and Running PT enough!

Up and Running Physical Therapy Clinic - Fort Collins CO

Joe! Your journey from Achilles issues to nailing that epic Grand Canyon (and beyond) was definitely awesome. It's stories like yours that remind me why I love doing what I do at Up and Running.I'm so glad the plan we put together worked out for you. It's awesome to hear you're back to hitting 60 miles a week, especially after that scare with your patellar tendon. Your resilience is seriously inspiring. Thanks a ton for sharing your experience and for the shout-out. It means a lot to know our approach hit the mark for you. Here’s to more pain-free runs and adventures! Can’t wait to hear about your next big milestone.-AJ

Fantastic experience: I came to Up and Running after a Facebook ad about shoulder pain struck a chord with me. I had been dealing with persistent shoulder pain since September 2022. I’d started by seeing an ortho doc who sent me to PT at their in house clinic. Initially, things got better, but I was still in pain. So I went back to the doc, got an MRI, and was told I had a slap tear and a downsloped acromium leading to biceps tendon impingement and was referred to a surgeon. I then tried a solid several weeks of rest/ice/NSAIDs, but returned to the surgeon for a cortisone injection into the rotator cuff. That helped, but the niggling pain and instability remained. Wishing to avoid surgery, I figured another shot at PT was in order. Joey at Up and Running PT was very knowledgeable and I learned a lot about what could be happening in my shoulder and how best to work on it. Instead of throwing a textbook of shoulder exercises at me and just saying do these everyday and come back in two weeks, he set me up with a PT exercise plan that was flexible with my schedule and with challenging exercises that really felt customized to my issue. Each visit back to the office, he would assess and my exercises would be leveled up or swapped out with new ones so it kept things fresh and I didn’t get bored doing the same thing over and over day after day for weeks. I also felt like he listened when I told him where certain exercises were painful, or when some felt like they didn’t do anything, or when I just didn’t like doing them and he’d adjust my plan accordingly. They also make use of a cool little app that has videos of the exercises linked, which is great for when you get home and you realize you forgot how to do your new exercise. Also, being an athlete/runner focused PT, they are all about keeping you moving and in your sport. The last thing they’d probably tell you to do is stop running/cycling/climbing/swimming (unless of course you really needed to). Is my shoulder 100% fixed? No. I’m almost 40. There is no doubt age-related change going on in there that can never be “fixed.” But, I’m at a level where my discomfort is rare and fleeting and I have a new library of strengthening and stabilizing exercises to move forward with. I’m not going back to the surgeon or for more imaging. Was it pricey? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes. The quality of care far exceeded all of my previous experiences with PT over the years.

Up and Running Physical Therapy Clinic - Fort Collins CO

Shoshana, thank you so much for your kind and more importantly detailed review! You just mentioned many qualities/approaches that I strive to achieve with all my patients daily. Because you were determined and consistent, the progress was there and will keep coming! Thanks again.-Joey

Fantastic experience: I loved working with Sam at Up and Running. I specifically searched for pelvic floor physical therapists after experiencing severe pain in my pelvic floor muscles. When I started my sessions, I was in pain daily, couldn’t sit comfortably and missed out on a family vacation because the pain was so severe I couldn’t sit in the car for a long time. It was very hard emotionally and physically. Sam is very knowledgeable in this area of the body and helped determine my pain was caused by overly tight muscles and helped me with breathing, stretches, and strengthening exercises that have greatly reduced my pain. I’ve been able to get back to my normal life and daily activities with much less pain (and anticipating everything returning to normal with continued stretching and exercises). I appreciated Sam’s gentle approach and always making sure I was comfortable. When you are working with the pelvic floor, you have to be comfortable with the person you’re working with and Sam was great from my very first visit. One of my favorite things was dry needling that was offered in-office during my sessions. I also liked that Sam asked me at each appointment what I wanted to accomplish during each session, so I was able to do the things I really felt I needed. I highly recommend seeing Sam if you are experiencing pelvic pain!

Thank you so much for trusting me with your care Mary Beth. What you went through was scary, and frustrating and as you mentioned, takes a toll mentally as well. I am so happy that you are able to go on trips with your family again, sit for long periods and go skiing too!

Fantastic experience: A few days before we left our home state to take a vacation in Colorado I did a large project outside and caused quite a bit of inflammation in one of my feet. The inflammation and pain swirled from side to side...strained arch, plantar fasciitis? It was devastating to be leaving for a hiking/biking trip and have this injury. About a week after arriving in CO we were in Ft. Collins and out of desperation one morning I called six PT clinics. The first couple did not answer their phone, the next couple seemed a bit irritated that I was from out of town and needed care within a three day period, and the others did not have openings. THANKFULLY, Alexa at Up and Running called me back immediately. She was incredibly caring, friendly, welcoming, and offered me a new patient appt. the next day, as well as a follow up the day after with Dr. Stephanie Snow. I can't even explain how skilled this doctor is. She listened to my story and history carefully, evaluated thoroughly and offered treatment that gave me near instant relief. I have been able to hike and bike in moderation on this vacation and before I saw her I was ready to buy my plane ticket home... because I had so much pain that I couldn't fathom hiking. I have seen many PT's in my active life and Dr. Snow is absolutely the best that I've ever had. She designed a thoughtful exercise plan for my future strengthening, techniques for in-the-moment pain when I'm hiking/biking, life advice, encouragement, an easy to use online format with videos of exercises, a way to ask questions virtually, and skilled treatment. I am happy to give her (and the office staff) my highest recommendation. If I lived in F.C. she would 100% be my regular PT. Stop searching and go see them! You won't be sorry!

Hi Kathy, thank you so much for the kind words. You were a pleasure to treat, not only in your dedication to your exercises that were prescribed but also your willingness to be an active participant in problem solving your issue. Fantastic experience: Up and running PT is incredible! I fell and hurt my wrist, it negatively impacted my golf game, and my doctor recommended PT, Sam was amazing, she taught me exercises and stretches that helped my recovery, and even increased my swing speed! Highly highly recommend them if you are an active person or competitive athlete.

Fantastic experience: I had to decide between conservative therapy or a surgery for a meniscus tear. I was pretty fit and strong going in, and was improving initially, finally deciding on surgery. Having regular physical therapy with Joey really helped me stay strong with tailored exercises, an easy app with a list of my daily assigned exercises, and professional advice going into surgery and healing after surgery. I’m seven weeks out from surgery now and already hiking 13 milers and cycling again. Thanks, Joey and Up and Running!

Thank you Melanie. Can't wait to hear about your trips and so happy you are at a level to pursue your goals safely! Keep up the great work! -Joey

Fantastic experience: So glad I found Joey and Up and Running PT. I haven’t been able to run since 2016ish without pain in my hip and knee. Now I’m running 3x a week and have never felt stronger. The exercises we are doing are obviously targeting my weaknesses, I love doing them and making progress. Dry needling is also a game changer. I feel super lucky and as someone whose been running since I was 8 years old, getting back into it is like reconnecting with a lost friend- there are no words. Signing up for a turkey trot in November :)

Thank you for the kind review! Love that you have the confidence to do something you love again! And we both know you signed up for more races than the turkey trot ;) Keep up the good work! -Joey

Fantastic experience: I came to Up and Running PT after a recommendation of a friend for pain in my hip when running, especially up hills. I was training for the Horsetooth Half and hill training was crucial. I have been to multiple different PT programs and what stood out about Up and Running the most was the amount of time they spend with you each session. Sam, my PT at Up and Running, was amazing! She first worked with me to relieve my pain and then worked with me to keep the pain from coming back. Sam used a variety of techniques to relieve the immediate pain. She taught me important body cues so that I could still run but protect my body from injury as I was rehabing my hip. I loved how responsive Sam was to my needs and was realistic and respected my time. As a busy mom of three, Sam worked with me to keep the exercises concise yet challenging in order to get me back to running hills pain free. Up and Running PT also uses a patient portal where the PT can upload videos of the exercises which was great because it helped me with my form and able to confidently perform the exercises at home. Overall my experience with Up and Running PT and Sam were phenomenal. If I need PT in the future, I will definitely be returning.

Fantastic experience: I started coming to Up and Running for a calf strain. Before coming, I tried quite a few alternatives: acupuncture, massage, and rest for weeks at a time, but nothing helped. At my first appointment, Joey said that I’d be back to running pain free within 8 weeks. At the time I was skeptical but willing to give it a try. Sure enough, after just 4 or 5 visits I was running without pain for the first time in several months! I can’t recommend Joey and Up and Running Physical Therapy enough!

Fantastic experience: I was recommended by a couple of friends to go to Up and Running PT after sustaining repeated ankle sprains earlier this summer. Joey from Up and Running has been a joy to work with as I have progressed through this injury. Joey is kind, professional, and has a great sense of humor and a tremendous knowledge of physical therapy. Joey prescribed me a host of exercises with thoughtful progressions to help me rebound from my ankle injury and also a toe fracture that I sustained later in the summer. With Joey's help, I have not only been able to confidently return to my passion of running but I also feel much more knowledgeable about how to strengthen my body to reduce future injuries. I very highly recommend visiting Up and Running for your physical therapy needs!

Fantastic experience: Up and Running was an amazing support for our family! My kiddo had a significant knee issue playing soccer they worked with him for several weeks and got him back stronger than ever. I had a running assessment which was super insightful and helped with my gait. I also worked with Sam for some pelvic floor - no shame here! Mom of two boys, I needed that specific PT, she was such an amazing educator/coach and support as I worked through pelvic floor PT. I would recommend her to anyone curious about this type of PT. The whole team is Uber knowledgeable, professional and ready to get you feeling your best - Really!

Fantastic experience: I decided to see Joey at Up and Running PT for calf pain that was preventing me from running for a few weeks. I tried various remedies, such as stretching, icing, and resting, but none of them provided long term relief. What drew me to Up and Running PT was their reputation for helping runners. During my very first session, Joey pinpointed the exact muscle causing my calf pain and gave me a list of strengthening and stability exercises to target my weak areas. Over my following sessions, I progressed my exercises, incrementally built up how much I ran, and made some improvements to my running form with Joey's guidance. Up and Running PT is perfect for injured runners who want to return to running pain-free. My calf pain is gone, and I'm running more much confidently.

Fantastic experience: As a teacher I've been dealing with some PF in my foot for over a year now and was tired of it getting in the way of not only my work life, but my hobbies as well. I found Up and Running and was pleasantly surprised with how kind and caring the owner AJ was towards my situation. He matched me up with Joey who did a wonderful job at not only showing me daily exercises I can do to help strength my foot, but also helped me get back to my normal self! I can now start the school year off right and know that if I ever need help again Up and Running will be there every step of the way. Fantastic experience: About 15 months ago I went to Up and Running with a brutal stress fracture in my lower leg, and a history of stress fractures. I was a sporadic runner, letting myself go over the winter, and then training too hard to “make up” for the winter. Injuries were a common companion in the spring. I’m an older runner (euphemistically, a “master runner”); with my history I was facing the prospect of no longer running. Last year I had to drop out of the QuadRock. But AJ really turned me around. He listened to my concerns, my realities, and my goals. He was able to integrate his remarkable understanding of the science and practice of running with my interests and needs. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner for recovery. He provided the guidance to get me on track to healthy and enjoyable running for the foreseeable future. I am forever grateful. With AJ’s help, last December I set my half marathon PR, and, last weekend, I finished the QuadRock25.

Fantastic experience: I saw Sam at Up and Running PT and have recommended her to other friends since. After having a baby, I sought help for pelvic floor rehab, but she helped me with so much more. I feel more confident than ever returning to more active exercise with Sam’s assistance and she approached rehab with the big picture in mind and was very focused on what I wanted to accomplish with her help. The programming is also accessible forever which makes revisiting her recommendations easy with videos she provided too. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I worked with Sam over a few months to overcome an injury that prevented me from being able to rock climb without some pretty limiting pain. She was incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful throughout the process of identifying the root causes of my pain and progressively prescribing exercises to address it. By following the program, which Sam updated each session based on my progression, I’ve been able to get back to climbing without pain faster than I’d originally hoped. I also learned a ton that will help me avoid injury going forward. I would definitely recommend working with Sam — it was a great experience all around.

Fantastic experience: I am a long time runner who recently set our to achieve my goal of running my first ultra - a 50k. However, this past summer I unfortunately started experiencing pain associated with plantar fasciitis. Sam Greig was amazing in helping me devise a therapy plan to recover and simultaneously return to running so i could train for my race. Sam's approach was unique in that it mixed PT with running and training that allowed me to meet my goal. I would highly recommend anyone seeking PT to go see Sam - she was amazing and I am grateful for her help and expertise. She has not only given me the ability to reach my goals but also empowered me with the education and training I will need to continue my lifelong running journey.

Fantastic experience: I worked with Sam and I couldn’t say enough great things about her. I am a runner and was having knee and shin pain and she really helped me to understand that pain wasn’t the end of running. Sam educated me on rating my discomfort and working to strengthen muscles that I had no idea would therefore strengthen my running and propel my fitness forward. She even did dry needling on my knee a few times and that was really helpful and felt instant relief. I’m so thankful she’s a resource for me in getting stronger and helping my relationship with running continue on. I will definitely call her again if and when needed but like she said… she hopes I don’t have to see her any time soon!

Sam was great at teasing apart where my pain was coming from and finding targeted exercises for each joint that didn't aggravate anything else. Sam respected me as a partner in my rehab journey and always listened to my concerns while letting my participate in the decision making. I am absolutely satisfied with my experience with Sam and back on the path to pain free running, skiing and living!

Fantastic experience: I've been to several PT clinics and chiropractors for different injuries, but Up and Running is by FAR the best experience I've had. I went there for a foot injury that completely stopped me from running (and even walking) and disrupted my gait. When I first contacted them about it and visited the office, I knew immediately it would be a good experience. They are very focused on really understanding the injury and my goals, and especially on getting me back to full performance function (not just helping pain). Joey is particularly awesome. I always felt better right after sessions with him, and the exercises he gave me were things I hadn't seen before that really helped me work on recovering at home and get back to running like I wanted to. I HIGHLY recommend Up and Running (and Joey!)--100% worth the time and money.

Fantastic experience: Can't recommend Up and Running enough!! I've had a chronic ankle injury that has affected my running for 2 years now (and consequently affected my overall body position, etc.) and, after having limited success with other physical therapy, I came to Joey at Up and Running feeling pretty deflated. But honestly in a few sessions, I have had MASSIVE improvements, am back to feeling as strong as I did running ultramarathons, and am still improving. If you are a runner with a chronic injury (or even just running pain) and you might be feeling a bit hopeless - give them a call. Price point is a bit high relative to other physical therapy but ABSOLUTELY worth it!

Up and Running Physical Therapy Clinic - Fort Collins CO

Nicole, it is so great to see you improve despite the lengthy time you've had to deal with this limiting ankle! It'll only continue to get stronger!

Fantastic experience: Within a week of training for the Horestooth Half I was already telling myself that I probably needed to quit and get a refund. My hamstring was killing me by mile 3 and this was an old injury that I'd been dealing with for about 7 years. Since that injury I hadn't run anything over 3 miles, was really cautious when lifting and even went to other professionals to get help. I figured wth, why not go see URPT (I'd seen their FB promo) and see if they had anything different I could try. I went in for the initial evaluation and Dr. Sam put me through a series of assessments. She told me it would take about ten sessions with her and hard work at home to get me to a place where I could confidently run the half marathon. Spoiler alert! I just completed my 7th session as of late March 2023, left my appointment and ran 10 miles out on the trail that runs along Shields with NO PAIN! Don't get me wrong, my body was sore and feeling things that it hadn't felt in years but I felt no pain in my hamstring or hip. I had written off running as a form of exercise and told myself that this injury was just something that would always nag me so I was constantly waiting for the pain to creep in. But nope, nothing! I do my at-home exercises consistently and I know that it's going to take a few more months of work to make sure this thing is healed for good, but being able to run pain free is something I never thought I'd be able to do again. I can't thank Dr. Sam enough for helping me. It's more than just running this half marathon; it's being able to run with my husband and know that I'll be able to run with my daughters when they get older. As for working with Dr. Sam, I cannot say enough good things about her. She's extremely thorough with her evaluation and her depth of knowledge not only allows her to recreate the exact pain, but give you the right exercises to effectively fix that pain. She gets down to business and pushes you the right amount to make sure you're getting better without overdoing it. She is a true professional. Moral of the story is that if you're dealing with any pain or telling people you're just "not a runner", go see URPT! They'll be real with you if they can help and they won't sugar coat what it actually takes to get better. You also have to be accountable to putting in the work, but their expertise is unmatched. See you out on the course in a few weeks!

Fantastic experience: I had sesamoiditis for over 9 months, with pain and limited mobility. I had visited a podiatrist, orthopedic surgeon, and traditional pt, but my progress was minimal. I am an active person, and was utterly devastated to be sedentary for such a long period of time. I chose Up and Running PT because of their specialization in helping runners and active people overcome injury. I worked with Joey for about two months, and am now pain-free, and starting to get back to jogging again! Joey provided injury-appropriate guidance and exercises to not only strengthen my foot, but my whole body. Each session we continued to advance my progress, while being mindful of my pain levels and abilities. Up and Running PT helped me go from months of painful hobbling, to pain-free jogging!

Fantastic experience: I am a runner that began experiencing hip/groin pain and after reading and hearing good things about Up and Running, I scheduled an initial appointment with Sam. Both Sam and AJ were the best PT's I have ever been to. They considered what was going on in my life mentally during the time of the injury and were very thorough with their initial evaluation. I really appreciate the fact that both Sam and AJ specialize in runners, and understand that as a runner, we want to get back to running as soon as possible. Sam provided me with strengthening exercises, explained them very clearly, and had me do them in the clinic first to make sure I was performing them correctly. They were extremely helpful when I needed to schedule an MRI, and continue to answer my questions whenever I call. If you are a runner, or anyone who is looking for kind, compassionate and knowledgeable PT's, I would highly recommend Up and Running. Sam and AJ are the best!

Fantastic experience: I worked with Sam Greig at Up and Running PT over the course of a few months to treat sciatic nerve pain caused by a household injury. Sam is really a professional: she knows the diagnostic techniques to understand an injury, and she has the problem-solving ability and knowledge of treatment methods to really effectively improve it. Over six sessions we developed a stretching and strengthening regimen to address several imbalances and weaknesses we identified, and by the end I was back to comfortably running in the foothills! It was honestly fairly remarkable to work with her and internalize some of her extensive knowledge of body mechanics. I've seen a few other physical therapists for different issues over the years, and Sam has been the best I've worked with to date. Highly recommended for personalized, thoughtful, and effective treatment.

Fantastic experience: I've been having knee and hip pain for over 6 months until I decided it was finally time to see a PT. I tried several things on my own with no improvements and things were just getting worse. I was at the point I was pulling back on personal goals and reducing what I thought I would be able to do this summer. Within a few weeks of working with Joey I started to see improvements. I wish I would have come into Up and Running sooner! I've been to several PTs for various issues over the years. Typical PTs will spend 10-15 minutes with you and recommend 2-3 appointments a week. This approach limits the progress that is made between appointments and limits the effectiveness of each session. With that PT typical approach it feels like you're wasting your time and money while in clinic. Up and Running spent quality time in clinic and made the most of the time I was spending there. Their approach makes the time spent in clinic so much more valuable and useful which I really appreciated. Joey was able to understand the issues I was having almost immediately and worked with me in clinic to give me the right tools and approaches to make progress in recovery. He helped me fix my training program to avoid issues in the future and I'm back on track to meet my goals. For anyone looking for individual, valuable, and smart PT I highly recommend Joey and the team at Up and Running Physical Therapy.

Fantastic experience: Sam Greig and the Up & Running team were amazing! I contacted U&R regarding sports-related low back pain and discomfort that had been ongoing for about 2 years. From the first session Sam was clear about what PT would involve, her and my respective roles in the treatment plan, and the tools and methodologies available to me. She prioritized equipping me with strategies, tools, and tactics so I could continue to heal outside of formal physical therapy sessions. When there was a beneficial practice I could not take advantage outside of therapy sessions (i.e. dry needling), she made sure to prioritize those in-session. When there was an issue that needed a second opinion, the other PTs in the office were more than happy to assist. After 8 weekly sessions, Sam's pelvic health expertise and thoughtful treatment helped me get back to having fun outside instead of worrying about my next injury. The office is full of PTs who are also athletes that engage in running, climbing, and lifting. I would highly recommend (and already have) that anyone needing PT seek treatment here.

Fantastic experience: I started PT at up and running because of a few injuries I had developed through obstacle course racing. I had a lot of injuries in the right side of my upper body (chest, shoulder, & back), and then my left ankle (Achilles and more) was a mess as well. I found up and running through a google search and was so pleased with my initial assessment I started going regularly for 6 months. My schedule was limited so I wasn’t able to go in every week but even with limited visits, Sam was able to do so much work on me and give me exercises to do in between that made a world of difference for my body. I had gone to PT last summer and had a terrible experience (pt didn’t help my injury at all and I left with more pain than I started with) so I was hesitant but Sam’s approach was SO much better! I told her my injuries and she did comprehensive movement assessments on me and found more muscles (than I had realized) that were strained and some of the causation of the injuries and created a program that attacked the problem from the root. I have been working with her for 6 months now and went from barely being able to breathe because I was in so much pain to running faster than ever on trails and throwing my body around on ninja warrior courses regularly again! She has also given me exercises and progressions for preventative measures so I can maintain the health and strength we have created. I can’t thank Sam enough for all of her help. Worth every dime.

I appreciate the awesome review so much, Kiera - thank you! You were such a fun and interesting person to work with and I look forward to hearing about all of your upcoming adventures and races!

Fantastic experience: I came to URPT while dealing with painful shin problems for the very first time. I went to a doctor who told me it was a "simple overruse injury" and sent me on my way without guidance. I tried resting for a while, only for it to come back the next run with even more pain. I chose URPT because of the great reviews, both on Google and on the Facebook Noco Runners group. From my first appointment, I felt welcomed, heard, and confident that this shin problem was going to be taken care of! Joey has been such a great PT to work with! He identified some significant imbalances in my left vs right side-- it all made sense to me as I had knee surgery on my right leg 5 years ago and never cared to strengthen it since. Since then, Joey has been an incredible help in getting me back to running stronger! Now 2 months later, my shin problems have gone away, I am running faster and stronger, and I have a new set of great exercises to maintain my strength! I used to be very skeptical of PT given prior experiences, but I highly recommend going to UPRT! I had such a great experience and looked forward to each appointment!

Fantastic experience: As I was training for the Marine Corps Marathon, that I ran in October 2022, I was encountering several different areas of pain in my legs and feet, as well as tiredness in my legs early during a run. At 52 years old, and running only my 2nd marathon, I was at a bit of a loss. After some online research, I came across Up and Running PT. I decided to give it a try as I was unable to overcome the difficulties that I was encountering. I worked with Joey once a week for a month and a half, and was not only able to complete the marathon, but drop 20 minutes from my previous time from 4 years ago. And it wasn't just 20 minutes faster, but it was 20 minutes faster the last 8 miles. Up through mile 18, my times from 4 years ago and this day were identical. The work I did with Joey gave me a better ability to finish strong and have my body feel better after the race. Joey was very knowledgable and easy to work with. Moving forward, I am looking to continue running for fitness and will utilize the exercises and stretches that Joey outlined for me. I would strongly recommend Up and Running PT for anyone needing assistance with their running.

Fantastic experience: I experienced an injury to my knee and hip and after a few weeks of little progress on my own I knew it was time to get professional help. I knew I wanted individual and specific help with my injuries so that I could learn from the experience and have skills to help myself in the future. I found just that in Up and Running PT. Not only was I willing to put the time and effort into healing my body so that I could continue to enjoy an active life, I knew that this PT clinic and Sam would put the personalized time and effort into me. During my sessions with Sam, I felt heard, validated, and like she really listened to what I was saying. It was clear that her approach was tailored for me and not a generic routine. This not only created a great client relationship but it also created increased motivation and drive to improve. From this experience I now have knowledge of what I can do to keep myself from experiencing this again, or if I do, how I can proceed. And certainly, if I do need PT again, I'll be returning to this clinic. For anyone looking for individual, valuable, and smart PT I highly recommend Sam and the team at Up and Running Physical Therapy.

Fantastic experience: I am 58 years old and I returned to dance four years ago. I currently take adult dance classes in Ballet, Jazz, and Contemporary. My age, years of sitting at a desk job, and a slew of old injuries combined to limit my mobility. I am a more proficient dancer than I was four years ago, but I want to have a greater expression of movement. I have been disappointed previously with doctors and physical therapists who basically told me that my expectations were too high and/or that I was too active for my age. I changed my search to try to find a PT that focused in sport movement and who understands why I want to continue participating in my sport at my highest level and I found UP and Running PT. I meet with Joey once a week and he gives me a regime of lower kinetic chain exercises for me to do throughout the week at home. The exercises are challenging, but I am working to attain my goal. When I started, I was only thinking about my bad knees, but it turns out the exercises also help my ankle and hip joints. Joey is helping me to strengthen the muscles supporting my joints and gain joint stability. I am already moving better and with greater confidence – my ballet jumps are higher and my contemporary dance floor-work is more agile. I am really happy with my progress and am looking forward to feeling even better as I continue therapy though Up and Running PT.

Ann-Marie! I am not a dancer (ask my wife), but we were able to get you stronger and decrease your pain with your dancing due to your hard work and determination. Always an honor to help someone continue on with their passion! Thank you for the kind review.-Joey

Fantastic experience: I pursued therapy at Up and Running after a partially torn LCL because I value the one-on-one sessions, the personalized instruction that I received (that you wouldn't get from other clinics or larger healthcare organizations where you are just a number), and I care about seeking professionals who are active in the same type of activities that I wanted to get back to. Joey was so super easy to have a rapport with. I received specific exercises that were progressed after each session, manual therapy, and some dry needling that all were helpful in helping me improve my walking quality, my strength, my range of motion, and my ability to return to the sports/hobbies that I enjoy (running, biking, climbing, hiking, etc). I would definitely return to Up and Running for any future needs!

Fantastic experience: I started going back to Up and Running PT again, for a hamstring issue, but on the other side. I was lucky to have Conner Weeth this time around. He's great!! He listens to me and makes sure that my exercises are exactly what I need to get my hamstring back in to tip top shape. Plus, he also does an excellent job with dry needling, when needed. I feel wonderful and I highly recommend these guys.

Its been so much fun working with your family, Christine! Hopefully it will just be the two of you and not the others in the future, haha! You put in a tremendous amount of hard work and the results speak for themselves! Thanks so much for your kind words. You put in so much good work outside of the clinic and you're going to do great at Ironman 70.3! -Conner

Fantastic experience: I'd had chronic knee pain for a number of years. MRIs showed some early arthritis and I had a doctor tell me to stop doing the things I love like backcountry skiing and backpacking. That wasn't acceptable. I interviewed a number of PTs but AJ's approach was absolutely the most satisfying. His PT was strength focused and I could see results relatively quickly. After a few months, I was pain free, stronger than I had been. Now, I'm maintaining with exercises at home and my knee is as good as it's been in years. Highly recommend.

Jordan! Thanks so much for this awesome review. You've been a rewarding patient to work with. I always love to help people continue doing the things they've been told they couldn't do anymore. Keep up the hard work and the hard play too.-AJ

Fantastic experience: Sam is awesome! I started seeing Sam to help strengthen my pelvic floor and to relieve shin splint pain so I could start running again. I learned so much about how my body works and great exercises to get me back into fitness. She is very knowledgable and detailed. I would highly recommend her!
