Dr. Huang enjoys taking care of his garden, snorkeling, horseback riding, cycling, and traveling with his wife and daughter to different countries to try different types of food. He also takes pleasure in having koi fish as pets.
I have decided to pursue a career as an Osteopathic doctor (D.O.) because I believe it is important to consider a person's anatomy, health, and overall wellbeing when providing care. I aim to work with my patients to develop a tailored treatment plan that takes into account the mental, spiritual, and physical elements of their health. Thanks to my training in both Osteopathic and Allopathic (M.D.) facilities, I am able to combine the best of both worlds when treating my patients. I use my manual therapy skills to diagnose and treat various medical conditions.
Since being chosen as one of six teaching fellows during medical school, I have developed a great passion for teaching patients and their families. My osteopathic education gave me a strong base in anatomy and the importance of empathy, which led me to pursue a career in physical medicine and rehabilitation. As a physiatrist, I am able to diagnose various musculoskeletal issues and provide non-invasive treatment options to my patients. After I completed my residency at Stanford as the chief resident in my last year, I chose to further my knowledge with a fellowship in anesthesia pain medicine at the University of Iowa. There, I was able to broaden my skills and add more treatment options to my "toolbox."
I believe it is my duty to help my patients manage any potential drawbacks of their treatment options while they are in the process of rehabilitation. I am knowledgeable about a variety of treatments, including manual therapies and interventional procedures that are monitored using fluoroscopy, allowing me to create a comprehensive rehabilitation program that can provide the best possible outcome.
My goal as a doctor is to provide my patients with the best possible treatment plan that will help improve their physical, mental, and spiritual health, enabling them to continue doing the activities they enjoy.

Fantastic experience: Dr . Lawrence Huang is very polite, patient and knowledgeable doctor. I am not an easy patient, expressing my fear of needle and surgery. My pain tolerance is very low. He is very patient with me and said he will not hurt me, even ask me if I want another department that I will be comfortable with. I said I want him to treat me. He did cortisone shot on my right knee and spray a lot of substance so I will not feel the pain, even call his nurse so I can hold to her for assurance. When the cortisone shot was done I was happy did not hurt at all. Thank you Dr. Huang for putting up with me. You are a very caring doctor.

Fantastic experience: I saw multiple different doctors from ortho to neuro specialist for my disc herniation with stenosis. I got tons of different opinions about the treatment and surgery but Dr. Huang genuinely believes in natural treatment and recovery and he was extremely helpful in explaining the treatment plan to try to avoid surgery. Fantastic experience: Dr. Huang gave me a epidural steroid shot to relieve my sciatica. He listened to my concerns about other treatments and fit me in early despite their busy schedule. The surgery center was friendly and careful so they had the right patient and the right treatment and side of my back. Dr Huang adjusted my anesthetic dose, keeping me alert but without pain during the procedure. This is my second successful steroid shot with Dr Huang. He's a good listener and I highly recommend him.
