Negative experience: 10/11/24 MFM appointment at 1 pm. BUT the MA is a disaster. called me at 12:54 saying” are you coming for appointment that you are supposed to register at 12:45.” I am almost there the tone and attitudes was rude. still ok. i said i will be there 1 pm as per schedule. arrived 12:59 sharp and at registrdesk to register at 1:01 with queing, took a min to find my name which is totally fine. the medical assistant, she called again while im being registered at front desk. took 3 min after the call to get me in anyway and said “ you have to be here 15 min earlier for us to take vitals”. excuse me??? I am RN myself taking vitals does not take 15 min plus i am the inly one in waiting area (still no one when i walk off after appointment: NO ONE in waiting room, so dont give me excuses of other patients waiting) she must be bored. sent me back out to wait for sonographer in waiting room, which i waited 10 min, it was ok to wait. Off note : i waited for my ob appt for 2 hr to get called in to check vitals and wxtra 20 min room . i did not call n harass them every 3 min of my waiting time even tho no explanation given. i work in medical field i tried to understand. waited 1 hr to call in for MFM. I still havent complained today’s MA i have seen her many times and attitude is like she owns the place and no one can be late except herself but everyone has to be early and ready for her to TAKE VITALS get another MA or she needs education and a talk from management

Negative experience: We had an 8:15 appointment with the OB GYN, but unfortunately, we were running 10 minutes behind schedule. Despite providing a 1-hour heads-up, the hospital staff were unable to accommodate the brief delay of just 10 min for a 1 hour slot. Given our history this appointment was critical for the mental well being. we were disappointed by the inflexibility. Not only were we denied the appointment, but we weren't even allowed to meet with the doctor even for 5 min talk given we had 1 hour slot already booked. Furthermore, the management team showed a concerning lack of empathy, refusing to listen to our concerns or consider our perspective. We had observed similar unempathetic behavior from doctors in the past but we just let it go, this time we decided to change hospital.

We appreciate you bringing your honest feedback about appointments and communication to our attention, Rakesh, and we're sorry to learn your experience didn't go as planned. We'll be sure to share it with the right leadership teams.Jeremiah, Social Care Team

Positive experience: I don’t know why people get really bad experience and review In here, for me I feel it is really good service, I have never been waited more than 20min for my appointments and everything seem really fast compared to other places I go, I hope they will keep this improving to get better

Positive experience: I arrived at 8:40AM on a Saturday and was out in an hour The only frustrating part of the experience here was the lady at the front desk saying the wait would be 2.5-3h for "urgent care", and that I had to wait inside just because "it's policy". Explaining the policy would have made sense, since I thought I had to sit there for 3 hours. She also had some attitude while asking if I wanted to pay before seeing someone, when I wasn't even sure I wanted to wait 3 hours. The TV also mentioned 2.5-3h wait times. I decided to wait rather than to try telehealth, go to a different clinic, or just ignore my problem because there were only 3-5 other people waiting, and I’m glad I did as I waited less than 40 mins to see someone. The front desk staff could do a better job at explaining WHY there might be a long wait and that it's possible you may be seen earlier than that time. The actual experience being seen by Dr.Tsang was awesome! :)

We're pleased to learn that your visit was quicker than expected. Your comments about the front desk interaction and wait time communication are valuable, as we aim to offer transparent and helpful information. Thanks for sharing your experience.Laura, Social Care Team

Fantastic experience: I recently had a video visit with Dr. Jagmohan Jandu, and it was a great experience. He was very patient and thorough, asking detailed questions to ensure I received the right care and treatment. His attention to detail and genuine concern for my well-being made me feel confident in his care. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: The bill is ridiculous . I got bill to pay $1417.83 out of pocket after my insurance coverage for my annual checkup. I have to pay out of my pocket $559 for a Abdomen Limited Ultrasound, $422 for lab test, $180 for an X-ray and $257 for physician service.

What you shared sounds stressful, Li, and I’d be happy to connect you with an escalations team who can speak to you more in depth about this. Please send your best phone number and a copy of this review to [email protected] to move forward.Jeremiah, Social Care Team

Negative experience: I had a billing issue that took multiple attempts and departments to resolve over the course of months. The billing department was unhelpful, the appeals process clearly didn't look into what happened, and the patient relations department was dismissive. After two months I got a call from someone on the escalations team who resolved my billing issue in minutes. I've decided to seek a different medical provider going forward.

Negative experience: I would give negative review if allowed . They add Charges which are not right and no one takes responsibility, insurance ask to talk to billing and billing ask to talk to doctor !!! . I got bill to pay $591 out of pocket even after my insurance coverage for my simple annual checkup which is supposed to be free .

Negative experience: Suspicious billing practices. I am a well-established patient here (PCP, specialists, family, all that jazz). Called for a same-day appointment and got one with a PA. The appointment was billed/coded as a new patient visit, despite my long history with the facility. Requested a a billing review and they said it's right. I was charged double for a visit because I was erroneously coded as a "new patient", more than any specialist visit I've had there, with a PHYSICIAN's ASSISTANT no less. The review said that new patients are defined as 3-months, but literally everywhere online (including AAFP define new as 3-years or more between visits). Pretty ridiculous and suspicious billing practices.

Negative experience: Me n my wife both went to Dr Saranya Jayakar for annual physical checkup and she prescribed some blood tests though we both asked if these are covered from insurance and they confirm yes, later they send us a hefty invoice against those and now no one is able to answer that from their team and i am forced to pay the invoices, its a robbery/loot and their processes are not transparent so be careful everyone before you go to them..

Negative experience: My family and I have been patients at PAMF for more than 20 years. I needed to bring my son in today and went to PAMF Fremont and reached at 5 pm. It’s raining, windy and cold and the doors are locked. The two ladies at the front desk see us and continue to chat. I knock on the glass door and a kind patient opens the door from the inside. I go to those ladies and they say that urgent care close at 5 pm due to Presidents Day and when I ask why couldn’t they have opened the door and told me that, they very nonchalantly tell me it’s written on the door. Well, it’s not written on the door and even if it were do you not have the decency to come and tell us that? Nobody comes to the doctors office because we think it’s fun. Your job is patient care and you shouldn’t be doing this work if you don’t care.

Negative experience: 4 hours wait time for urgent care this morning. When I went in this morning, they said there would be a wait of 2 hours for the doctor. However, there would be triage where someone can look and say if I can come back. No one came to triage. Waited 3 hours and asked them at least 2 times and the doctor sees me after 4 hours for 5 mins. This should not be the norm. I was looking forward to coming back to PAMF after 5 years of Kaiser and this is how I am re-introduced :(

We're sad, too, Rekha. What you described isn't the experience we want for anyone, and we're very sorry to learn you didn't feel supported. If there's anything you'd like to discuss further, please contact Patient Relations here: https://bit.ly/49d2p29. Laura, Social Care Team

Negative experience: I have been trying to set-up an appointment for over a month and I would have an easier time trying to swim to hawaii. The ladies that answer the phones are rude and have zero skills on how to deal with people. I don't know what happened to P.A.M. but their service is straight TRASH. Worst decision I made was having them as my provider, now I am stuck until I can enroll in another provider.

Negative experience: This place is pure waste of time, I mean wait for 4-5 hrs without appointment it makes sense. But waiting for hrs even after having appointments does not makes sense. Also it is ok to wait if the front desk staff is little polite or helpful to clearly communicate with numbers of patients prior to the appointment so we can estimate. I mean not asking for time estimate but just number of patients prior. Instead they are rude, not all some are helpful.

Negative experience: I have ear ache and discomfort in jaw. I called my doctor first. The lady who reached was very rigid and was not ready to work with me on appointments. The I went to urgent care. They told me that there would be one and half hour delay. I told them that I would come back later. When I went back at 6:30 PM they told that I could not be treated as they were booked. Clearly they don’t care about patients. They are rude and inflexible.

Negative experience: They deserve Negative stars. 1. Preventive exam billed as office visit. 2. Urgent care visit ends up with no conclusion, no next steps. Just let the patient figure out what they can do on their own or simply go to ER. - Front desk reps lack empathy. Witnessed a rep tell an old lady who could barely speak English to call and schedule appointments via some system themselves. - We went to an urgent care. The doctor ordered ultrasound and that couldn't be done until next day. - The next day after ultrasound test results were back the front desk refused to let us speak to doctor stating that we have to check-in ONCE again into urgent care and wait for 2+ hours and also EXPECT a second Urgent care bill. Their reasoning: We can't help you. If you want to talk you have to pay for 2nd visit. Or go home and wait for someone to call and explain the results. It was almost 5pm and no one called. So I called the front desk to request someone to call me back. Finally another doctor calls back and says that the ultrasound findings are incidental. This doctor didn't say what actions to take to avoid the pain or what food to avoid/eat to help. Instead says that she wants the patient to come back to urgent care as she didn't see her in person. With this logic, every time you follow up on something they expect you to keep visiting urgent care! So basically there is no conclusion, we don't know what to make of the results. We don't know the next steps. :( Update: More bad news. The doctor saw the patient only for 10mins but the urgent care billed for 40-54mins. Ridiculous!

Negative experience: My family been seeing doctors for 7 years with PAMF. This year, they start to charge for preventive annual physical checks by coding the visit as non-preventive. We don't remember that it was like this for the previous years. Their coding technique is pretty arbitrary and can be easily manipulated. Be aware that for your annual exam, don't talk anything about your other minor problems AT ALL. One of my other friend reported the same issue. Full story: I mentioned a minor problem when asked during the annual physical check. No need for any treatment. But I respect the doctor's suggestion and did two extra tests she suggested. The extra tests are billed as normal and I paid. When it comes to the other normally preventive care procedures, they started to charge for the normal blood tests. These blood test items are exactly the same as last year but billed differently. I complained and they corrected it and sent me an apologize letter. However, when they correct the billing, they added an extra non-preventive office visit in addition to the annual check visit. It ends up billing me a even higher amount. I complained again for why I was billed for two visits when I actually only saw the doctor once. They responded by removing the preventive visit and insisted that my visit was non-preventive and did NOT qualify as the prevent annual physical check visit. EDIT: paid anyway, doesn't worth my time. Note that following the "response from the owner" won't get you any response...

Negative experience: New Patient - Bad Experience - Preventive annual check-up ============================================ I usually check Google reviews before going to Doctor's but I forgot to do that this time. Just checked the reviews here after my visit and many people have said the same thing "Overcharging, using non-preventive codes for visits/labs etc". Not surprised. They did overcharge for my preventive annual physical check. All I did was I asked a question for which the Physician said nothing to worry and no diagnostics done. That too, I asked that question because he kept asking me if I have anything else to discuss or any concern. For that one liner question with no diagnostics done, I was surprised to see a copay in my bill. The provider charged extra and I called the billing department, they said I discussed something which is "Non-preventive" thing. What a joke! Am I supposed to stay quiet and say "No" to everything the Doctor asks? Also, during my visit, I was asked to wait in the Lobby for more than 45 mins. My appointment was at 5 but I was called at 5:45 and then in the room, I waited almost 30 mins for the Doctors to come. so the entire visit took me about ~2 hours. I STRONGLY do not recommend this Hospital to anyone who wants to do a Annual physical exam

Negative experience: Just go to a different place for your medical/health needs!!! HORRIBLE in almost every aspect from making appointments to doctor visits to billing. First, front desk staff are rude and dismissive. Never felt like they are here to help you. I’ve had my appointments canceled with last-minute notice to which I’ve already showed up at the clinic and was told I couldn’t see any medical professional that day and that the next available appointment would be 2 WEEKS LATER. I’ve also witnessed them flat out refused to help a a limping woman who speaks minimal English make an appointment. The lady was practically begging for them to help but the staff told she “has to” do it herself online and directed her out. Doctors’ priority here is to make money, they could care less about your health. Minimal effort/service/explanation about your medical situation. I felt tricked into doing more expensive treatments than it is necessary after checking with another doctor outside of this location. Not only that, frequent OVERBILLING; check your bills people and challenge their billing codes! I had to make multiple calls to billing and lost HOURS of time on the phone just to get the correct bill. All in all, I will never be back. Not sure if it’s a single location problem but I’m avoiding sutter health/Palo alto medical foundation altogether. Feeling much better after switching to Kaiser Permanente Fremont across the street.

Negative experience: I was coming here for prenatal care and I have never had such horrible and uncomfortable experience! There are no doctors of color here all Asian or white and the lack of representation definitely shows in the care you receive. My OB was Dr. Meng and Midwife was Dr. Lewis, two Asian women who lack bedside manner. Can be judgmental and rude if you question their methods. My main complaints: -lack of individualized care: there’s providers just follow protocol and when you do advocate for individualized care your met with rude attitude. I shouldn’t have argue to get a provider to understand personal things that impact my health or plans for birth. -lab work: I had one A1C test that came back normal, my second glucose test was at 6:45am I was exhausted and never got a good explanation from either OB/Midwife that I shouldn’t be skipping meals beforehand so I ended up fasting for over the recommended period combined with the lack of sleep I’m surprised I didn’t fail all 3/3 however I had 1/3 fail by 7 points. When I asked about external factors that could have affect my results I was met with such a condescending attitude as if it was ridiculous to think so, I also had to argue for a follow up test in 4 weeks. Nothing wrong with having GDM but when you’re barely out of the ratio of normal a Dr should want to get to what’s going on with your life before just diagnosing you without proper investigation. -Other departments like nutrition/dietitian: I was referred to this department for consultation for 1/3 elevated glucose test and was sent information that I read only to have virtual meeting where she just repeated the same information back (maybe they don’t think people read but I do) I sat through as much as could before I had to get back to work only to get a rude call that if I don’t sit through the whole 2hr zoom I can’t go to the 1hr appt. So my options now is to take off work for something that could have easily been a pamphlet, I personally don’t have the luxury to take time off work. -More virtual appts: prenatal classes, birthing classes etc I understand COVID changed things but most of us are back to normal and even if it wasn’t these types of classes aren’t meant to be virtual they should INTERACTIVE where you can be hands on and find real support. - Overall my advice as a woman of color is to find another place for Prental care because this place is not it, and with the risks already associated with black/brown it’s not worth the added risk and stress to deal with providers who don’t truly care about you as a person.

Negative experience: Just called to see if someone could help schedule a pcp for my husband. Whoever answers the phone to the main number was rude and irritated. We just wanted to know if his insurance was in network. Even if she didn't know she could have been nice about the situation and said she wasn't sure and to contact new patient registration, but she proceeded to be rude and sound very annoyed. This clinic should consider having someone actually nice answering the phones. This employees negativity is deterring patients from coming to this location. Super disappointed with the unprofessional attitude that was displayed today. It's not a good representation of PAMF. I wish I remembered the name of the employee but whoever is answering the main line on 6/20/23 around 1:50pm is not friendly! Also going through the reviews and it looks like we aren't the only ones with this experience. This clinic should really take into account if multiple people are complaining then there's an obvious problem. We called new patient registration from doing our own research and Sherry who assisted us was beyond nice and actually helpful. We are happy with Sherry's kindness. We rate Sherry 5 stars!

Positive experience: Went to Urgent care - Saturday 7/9/22 around 8:45 am as I had slipped in my home & used my hand to shield the "fall' .... wrist was hurting ...... During Check-in the receptionist told me (a) Wait for Adults is 3 to 4 hours - ( Children 1.5 hours ) - There is NO Visual indicator - like you pick a number & central Display like in Costco optrometrics - that estimate turned out to be grossly incorrect - My name was called in 2.5 hours & I had gone out to lunch ..... Had to do a re-checkin after Lunch 1:00 pm - again they had no ETA - evey Costco tire center & DMV has better numbering systems! X-ray took another hour & then re-visit the DOC - DOC on duty NEVER showed X-Rays :-(

Negative experience: Terrible and Deceitful Customer Service and Staff 10/29/2019 - charged a hefty bill because it was my "first time visit", and reassured that my insurance is in the network 3/29/22 - called my insurance to find out that it is not in their network, hence the large bill. Called back to try to clear it up, but they reflected blame and saying it's not their fault even though they told me otherwise the first time

Negative experience: They are always tricky on the medical bill. This time, we changed insurance company so we updated our insurance info with the medical center. But they again play game, said there were another insurance company listed in the file, so they asked us to contact our insurance. They always try to bill directly to patient for higher income.

Negative experience: One of the most arrogant , rude and attitude freak staff at Pamf Fremont. They don’t smile, have no empathy or even have common courtesy. There needs to be investigation on why this facility has dramatically slipped in their attitude towards patients . No politeness . The reception and appointments And even Doctors are in 7th heaven or have hateful attitude. Patients feel extremely unwelcome z

Negative experience: their billing center is not reasonable. if you had overweight or Cholesterol history, event over 2 years, they'll waive your benefit of preventive care and billed as medical diagnosis. update from PAMF/Sutter, NEED to ASK for codes before procedure and Billing Detail. (those won't be provided as default) it is the patient's responsibility to know and understand their benefits prior to receiving services. If you are unsure at the time of service you may hold off on treatment until you are able to verify and confirm with your insurance By providing your insurance with the procedure code (CPT Code) and the Diagnosis Code (ICD-10 Code).

Fantastic experience: This has been my lab for over a decade now. But, this time my visit was different because I used the lab services for an Out of network doctor's Lab orders. My experience has been more than 5 stars. I took my NutrEval Kit to the lab after booking an appointment on the phone. The rep. on the phone confirmed that they could help me. NutrEval has no local labs that can draw the samples. The closest location was in Sutter San Francisco - which is not functional any longer. I am so glad the rep. at the San Francisco offered me to check with the Fremont location. The day I arrive with my kit the lady at the desk took my box and said they could ship it out as well on my behalf. Saved me a trip to Fedex. The tech who took my samples had my kit, took the samples in less than 2-3 mins and I was done. I have gained so much respect for this location. A big thank you to everyone.

Negative experience: They deserve negative stars. The front desk staff, and the nurses are like mafia. They have no empathy, no sense of responsibility at all, and for most part lack basic courtesy. Just find an independent provider, or go to Stanford medical and save yourself some frustration. I walked in today because my son had stomach pain. The front desk told me that ALL pediatric Urgent care doctors are fully booked, and that I should go to emergency. I insisted that he needs to be seen there because the urgent case is open and no where it's written that urgent case is closed, but A NURSE CAN TRIAGE to make sure that my son is stable. The front desk person called the nurse on phone. The nurse came out and in front of my eyes put out the sign that said Urgent care is closed, then walked away. Now the front desk lady got reinforcement from another person, and said that the triage nurse is having lunch and I can wait till she is back. At this point I lost it -- these two ladies did not say one sentence asking about my son's pain or showed any sense of urgency or and empathy. I left the place without any help from Fremont PAMF... never expected this from a medical facility.

Negative experience: Avoid this place. Waiting in line is long even if we had scheduled appointment. Then we were told to go up to 3rd floor after 20 minutes, and then we were told our appointment was cancelled since we were more than 10 minutes late! The doctor( Mohamed?) or his nurse must have wanted to get out at the end of the day so badly! Such medical conscience and work ethic! Smh

Negative experience: Intro- Parking is usually terrible. Expect it to take awhile. Been coming here to see an OBGYN since my primary care physician is male, and I prefer a female to check my nethers. The visit with the OBGYN is decent, but the follow up is terrible. One physician gave me a slip to get lab work done, which I had done, and faxed to her office as instructed. After a year of calling the office and asking if the physician received it, I gave up. I switched to a new OBGYN, was told I would receive a referral for a condition, and this visit was preventative, but since I mentioned a condition, I was billed extra for it, and never received a call from their other department. The bill for the extra topic of discussion came, but the call concerning the referral never did. I also have come here to see a dermatologist, and when trying to book an appointment for the treatment she recommended, never got a call back, and could never reach a person in the department via phone during their office hours. If you come here, good luck getting follow up for your visit!

Negative experience: Hopefully my friend Raj Salwan with whom I served in the City of Fremont Human Relations can look into the numerous complaints about this medical facility. I had an in person appointment for Jan 10. 1 hour prior to my appointment a staff called and told me it's a video visit. No mention of video visit was ever given to me nor was a video link ever shared. I insisted on a in person appointment. On Jan 18 I arrived on my for my visit. After waiting more than 30 min I checked with front desk only to have a staff come and tell me that I was 5 minutes late and could therfore wait up to 2 hours for my appointment. Overall I'm satisfied with the procedure but think that Sutter Health admin staff could use a little training in humility and much more administrative oversight for their errors and unreasonable process.

Negative experience: Went online (My Chart) to schedule a same day “walk in” appt. The only option that came up was in Milpitas. I drove there for my appt only to be told they weren’t accepting any appts during the day, due to Covid vaccinations. I was NOT happy. Nobody called me to tell me this. I then scheduled an urgent care appt with Fremont. I’ve waited 2+ hours in their parking lot. This is absolutely unacceptable!! It’s 7:55pm right now and this clinic closes at 8pm. The pharmacy closes in an hour. Still haven’t been seen by a Dr. I’ve never had such a terrible experience with PAMF!!

Negative experience: I went there for an incident on my wrist and had a 10 minute visit. Dr was so rushed and I felt he did not want to waste his time with patient. He googled my wrist issue (I had done the same at home and got similar information) and showed me the results. I got shocked when I saw a bill of $770 with an office visit and preventative care! My insurance declined the claim as they only cover 1 preventative care per year. It did not even go towards my deductible. I called PAMF several times but they said they reviewed the case and I have to pay this non sense bill. I never go to PAMF again. Do not waste your tike and money there

Negative experience: We have been seeing PAMF doctors for over 5 years now but the last 1 year has been really frustrating especially with the change in process due to covid and the inefficiencies in the system especially with pediatric and urgent care options. We have struggled in the last 12 months to be able to get our 3 year old a in person doctor appointment even for non-covid symptoms and with covid tests for other symptoms. The clinic only schedules video visits and declines in person pediatric appointments. We are asked to go to urgent care and even that is a mess, they schedule appointments but we have had to wait 2-3 hours to get in and the whole system is a mess. You would think by now they would have figured out the protocols given its been more than a year of covid but certainly not. I have tried giving feedback and complaints but no one cares. For now we will be moving out of PAMF to other doctors especially for pediatric care.

Negative experience: The new covid protocol for urgent care does not make any sense . They want to wait in the parking lot and the wait is 2 hours (oct 18th) I was with 6 year old sick kid how can I wait in the parking lot for 2 hours with him they should allow inside or allow us to checkin from home and call us 15 minutes before the appointment. The current protocol is i should wait in parking lot entire 2 hours.. Also same day one person said the wait is 20 minutes but when I reached there (within 5 mins)another person said 2 hours the advice care nurse was very helpful she understood the situation and helped me to get the appointment I am thankful to her ...

Negative experience: I tried PAMF Fremont for routine check up, and learned bad experiences. They just ordered a lot of blood works, even unnecessary tests, without explaining or looking at medical history. After visit, they didn't mind to call or send any letter about check-up result. It's end up with our out-of-pocket, insurance denied to pay as it's not part of preventive schedule. Customer Service doesn't help you at all. They even scared you that they will refer to Collection Agency if you don't pay while waiting for appeal processing. I feel like they just want to make money as much as they can, with very bad services. The very FRIST TIME is also LAST TIME I visit PAMF.

Positive experience: Recently been going here and seeing Dr. Goyal (who is fabulous and takes time with you during every visit) I do like their facility, it is definitely well kept, and clean every time I have been going here for visits. Dr. Goyal is very kind and actively listens to your issues and asks you what you want out of her advice, etc. The only complaint I have is waiting time, I have waited more than 40 minutes for the past few visits just to see the Dr, I do hope they will pay attention to scheduling since I am always a person who comes in early to check-in. I would also like to say that I wish they offered phone visits as well, in a more clear manner (able to schedule via MHO app)

Negative experience: They used to be good... not any longer. I have severe Plantar Fascitis but when it gets severely inflamed I just need a cortisone shot... the only available doctor was Dr Gregori.. he walked in arguing (not any examination, not a look at the history)... he was under the impression that I was 'using him to get cortisone shots ... he kept talking about the "silver bullet" which he doesnt want to use... My foot issue got so severe that I had to complain to their Customer Service /Public Relations... One lady ("Mary") just left a garbled/stumbling/casual voice mail to ask me to call back at a general 888 number. Nothing for 3 days thereafter. I called the 888 number but no response for days... another online complaint.. NOT THE SLIGHTEST RESPONSE... third one, still nothing. Arrogant guys who should leave the health care profession and hand themselves over to the Insurance Companies whose interests they solely defend nowadays... what a shame. I have been with them for 20 years. Dr Rema was the best, and the only reason I still put up with this pathetic "clinic/hospital".

Negative experience: I stopped by the urgent care to have my eye examined. When I arrived at the clinic I was in my work uniform. I schedule all my appointments for after work due to my heavy work load. After checking in and going back to the exam room. I told the MA what I was there for just like any other appointment. The MA conducted an assessment and left the room The Nursing supervisor entered the exam room and told me that my injury was work related and I needed to leave. So don’t ever go to Palo Alto Medical in your work uniform. Apparently the Nursing supervisor does her best to make all injuries work related due to her extreme laziness. This complaint will be filed with the board of nurses.

Negative experience: Had the worst waiting experience . Came to the urgent care for my sick son. Checked in at 10:00 AM. Avg wait time at the time of arrival 1hr 30 mins. Called us in for vital checkup after 45 mins and then asked us to wait to be called in for check up. Waited for another 2 hours and 30 minutes in the reception until we were called in to the check up room ! Again waited in the room for 45 mins for the doctor to come and do the checkup. they had to give him some medications there itself and we ended up spending more than 1.5 hours on the room itself. Most of the time was spent in waiting for some one to show up in the room. In short we spent almost 5 hour in urgent care. Only good good thing about this place is the doctors and nurses. But they surely need more.

Negative experience: Palo Alto Medical Foundation is a money-making setup at its core, and every facet of my experience here has reflected this. Doctor visits consist of a nonplussed doctor finagling a way to order you extra tests, procedures, meds and/or visits while doing nothing to actually treat you on the spot. There is no sense of urgency, efficacy or compassion - because that's not how PAMF is set up. To take more of your money, they keep you hanging on for as long as possible. Prices here are ridiculous, and PAMF is consequently vague and evasive about it. I'm talking costs that are consistently 3-4x the norm - take a few short minutes shopping around your area for other options and you'll see exactly what I mean. It's astonishing. If out-of-pocket cost is at all a concern, then GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. You better have a desperate, pressing reason to be coming here for mediocre service at an astronomical cost. To obscure their ridiculous mark-ups, PAMF will keep you in the dark about your medical costs all throughout your experience, from when you request a price quote when a service is first ordered, to when front desk checks your insurance and tells you vaguely that you're "covered", to when you receive an astronomical bill and find out PAMF's idea of "covered" still leaves you owing hundreds if not thousands more than you expected. Personally, my doctor ordered me an MRI at PAMF's Radiology that cost almost $2000. Prior to the MRI, I asked two sources at PAMF how much the procedure would cost, and everyone either said "I don't know" or "You're covered" with no additional details whatsoever. The cost for the exact same procedure just down the street? Less than $600. How did I find out? Cold-called their number I found on Google, was quickly received by a helpful and cheery employee, gave him my insurance plan info, and was immediately provided a clear and exact cost breakdown, down to the penny. The phone call took no more than 4 minutes total. Different priorities. I truly wish I could say PAMF's mark-ups are justified. I went to see a specialist at another facility who asked if PAMF could send over my MRI results. How did PAMF respond? After placing a view results request, my doctor needed to then wait several weeks for the MRI images to come by mail. PAMF, your facility can't bring itself to store *electronic imaging* results as electronic image files? And as you may have guessed by now, PAMF wanted to additionally bill me for that "consultation" which consists solely of sending my MRI results to another doctor. It's quite clear to anyone that the only thing PAMF "cares" about is your money. If you are looking for competent, compassionate care that empowers and enables you and your family, I can honestly say I do not recommend PAMF because they simply are not on the same page as you. Their goals are in opposition to yours. They are in fact, on the page of taking your $$$. The only remotely positive thing I can say about my experience with PAMF is that the nurses are generally caring and have great bedside manner - better than the doctors in my experience. Many assistants and desk staff are kind too although not always helpful, which I credit to PAMF's shady training practices that surely suppress their desire to help customers make informed decisions. I think for: (1) the middling, unsympathetic doctors I've visited at PAMF, (2) being strung along through unnecessary, time-wasting visits and extra steps that thin your wallet for minimal genuine progress, and (3) the tail-chasing, questionable operation of billings that sends you around in circles, I will gladly never return to PAMF again, and I will do my part to ensure others know why.

Positive experience: When I first went to this location I asked about having a tubal ligation reversal. The doctor wanted nothing to do with that so I was told to do a round of IVF. I went through with that but it failed. Thankfully I continued my search and found a doctor in the bay area that will do tubal reversal. I strongly recommend going to Science Reproductive in San Ramon if you're after a tubal reversal. I have 3 star to after health Reproductive because I send like a paycheck to them. Over 200000 out of pocket, mind you and no one even called to check on me after the failed attempt. I was so bummed. Anyway, as I said if you're looking for tubal reversal go to San Ramon. This place will only do IVF treatment.

Negative experience: My wife and I had a horrible experience with this facility. Our initial consultation with Dr. Ezzati was very dry and impersonal. Subsequent to our consultation, my wife had a series of tests done at the doctor's request. All covered by insurance. However, due to an oversight by the Billing Dept. we were charged over a thousand dollars. We spent hours trying to correct the situation. However, most voicemails and e-mails went ignored by both Dr. Ezzati and his staff. Meanwhile, we were receiving letters, threatening to send us to a collection agency if we didn't pay immediately. After numerous months (yes, months) of refusing to give in to their demands they were finally able to correct their error. We were actually polite and respectful through the entire situation. But, in the end, not as much as a simple apology came from the office. Additionally, we never even received any kind of review our test results, and no one ever even bothered to inquire about our situation, or whether we were coming back for further consultation. They basically just wanted their money, and they were done with us. This was one of the most important decisions in our lives. And, nothing from this office instilled any sense of confidence or professionalism in us. Ultimately, we ended up going to another doctor, where the experience was a night and day difference. There was clarity, simplicity, and a sense that the doctor actually cared about us and our situation. In then end, it all worked out for the best, and was probably just a blessing in disguise.

I can not express my love for Sutter Health / Palo Alto Medical Foundation of Fremont, CA. All of my Doctors and Providers are the Bomb and they genuinely care!!

Positive experience: I grew up with PAMF when it was only at its Bryant St., PA location. One of their doctors helped me deliver my son 38 years ago. After I returned to the Bay Area after a 15 year absence, I moved to Fremont. Of course it's where my doctors would be. I now have a few chronic illnesses that have required specialists. Their people are good, but I must say my PCP is a little too quick to send me to a specialist.

Negative experience: We waited an hour and a half for the appointment just to simply start. It wasted lots of the time we could have used for other things. Otherwise, the rest is good.

Negative experience: Heads up everyone! This hospital charges you the same amount with or without Insurance(hardly any discount). So you basically end up getting a huge bill which goes to your deductible(if your insurance has higher deductible, you're royally screwed) and that basically means you end up paying a HUGE HUGE medical bill. btw, I was a CIGNA Insurance customer, and the contract rates are, for instance $478 with or without Cigna Insurance for Office Visit. Shameful CIGNA and Atrocious Palo alto. Would never visit here again, even if God himself come to treat me.

Negative experience: I did physical exam there, and no follow up after lab testing, I called for result, and they refuse to send me the result and ask me to physically go there, charge me additional $215 for follow up visit. Another doctor I visited only 5 minutes for consultant but was charged $360. Feel like totally robbed!!

Negative experience: The weekend staffs are so unfriendly and almost cost me my life. I tried to call my doctor's office on a sunday for an antibiotic because my doctor accidentally send the prescription to Creekside San Jose, and I am not about to drive to Creekside. The receptionist refuse to let me speak to an on-call doctor! Stating it is against her "policy" to have a patient speak to an on-call doctor over the weekend (I mean what?). I plead and begged, letting her know that my pharmacy cannot fill this prescription and I am really sick and cannot wait, and the receptionist states "you have to tell your pharmacist to call us", she won't even transfer me to her supervisor or any nurses. So then I had to call my pharmacy, begged to speak to a pharmacist, had my pharmacist call PAMF, PAMF on call doctor then called me, and then PAMF doctor called my pharmacist back. When everything is said and done I was too weak to leave my house, and I had to pay extra to have my medication delivered to me. Completely unacceptable.

Paul, that sounds so frustrating and it's definitely not the type of experience we want anyone to have. Please know that this will be reviewed and shared with the appropriate teams. Kind regards, Elizabeth, Social Care Team
