Fantastic experience: Maxum physical therapy is a great place to have therapy. The staff members are the best friendly and professional. Branden is best therapist and caring person ever. Branden is a great and cares for his patients. They are always asking if I'm OK or if any discomfort. They always make me feel welcome. I will highly recommend this place. I will definitely give them percent. I look forward to continuing with my physical therapy sessions. Thank you so much for the support and caring for my health. Maxum physical Therapy is the best in Orange county

Negative experience: My autistic 3 year old went there for 3 months and out of nowhere told me he was kicked out for “biting someone” but I wasn’t told of this till a week after he supposedly did it and my son is not one to bite anyone and also didn’t show proof or anything of the sort please work on your communication skills! one of this therapist’s was very rude to us saying how “horrible” and ending the session early because of how “bad” he was and the fact that it’s not one therapist but traded off is not good autistic kids need repetition. They said I can still stay for speech but if something like that happened and I wasn’t told while I wasn’t with my son what else happens that parents are not told about??

Negative experience: All the 1 star reviews are true. 1st they start with a good assessment, therapist are GOOD. Front office tells you that you have Scheduling restrictions that you can only come in from 10 to 2. So for my kiddos to get therapy I have to miss work and my kids have to miss school twice a week? I don't think is fair Scheduling it should be 1st come 1st serve. But scheduling should give every parent the opportunity to schedule any time to come in.One time I Schedule my son for 2 months with no restrictions,, then another lady calls me saying that I wasn't suppose to be schedule in the afternoon because they are all booked up all the time, but when I was making the appointment the girl in the front was giving me so many options on time openings to come in so I don't understad.

Negative experience: My son goes here for OT. Everything was going good until today when we had our Physical therapy intake, the therapist was great. This review is based on the company method for scheduling. First the therapist told us she was available all day, which we thought great we don't want to take him out of school. But the scheduler said they only had mornings available. The therapist came over and told her she was available . But then the lady at the front desk said they have to give priority to other clients who have been here longer. This just doesn't sit well with me. Even though its been almost a year that we have been here for OT. This just made my experience bad. We will have to change PT providers. When we told the lady this she was just "ok."

Negative experience: Maxum Therapy Pediatric!! **autistic parent review** %**Please look at their philosophy promise on the photo attached.**% My son had been a patient from February 2021 -Dec 2021. This review is for our speech services experience with Maxum Therapy. I have been 87% present in the room during my son's therapy session at Maxum Therapy. First, I would like to state that Maxum Therapy Pediatric FAILS meets all their philosophy displayed on their pediatric website page. It is NOT about you(or your child). All special needs parents know the burdens and struggles we carry in having a special needs child! We often have more than one therapy provider, and we search for flexible companies that make the patient feel like a priority and offer solutions when complications arise. However, my experience with Maxum Therapy Pediatric has been bitter and irritable! Maxum Therapy Pediatric front desk office fails to provide essential patient services. They represent unprofessionalism by overlooking the basic needs and approaches to Autistic children, dominating meetings, telephone rudeness, and lack of common courtesy. Their therapist ARE professional with good communication skills, fun, and persistence. However, not ALL are ABA trained and do not build a relationship with your child. I would not recommend this place to any autistic parent.

Negative experience: Initial evaluation was fine. It took several weeks to get authorization approved and when it was I was told they only schedule new pediatric patients between 8 and 2 on the weekdays. Pediatric patients, before 2 on weekdays! Does this make sense to anybody else? When I asked why I wasn't told that from the beginning I was informed we tell everybody. No you did not! Waste of my time, my doctor's office time, and Maxima therapies time! This is a huge sticking point for a pediatric office you need to train your staff better.

Negative experience: Today, I had the periodical assessment meeting with the supervisor who had a completely unlogic approach with me regarding my son's progress.. It was really non-professional and even offensive that it ended up on me requesting to discharge my son for manipulations done by his speech therapist that I prefer to address to my insurance provider ONLY. . This place is working only on justifying and defending their employees against any complaint addressed by the parents.... They sacrifice the rights of special-need children in getting a human-quality of life just to justify their employees mistakes and claim that they are working for child's benefit... Definitely such an absolute protective management style will result in non-committed employees behavior... The last session with my son started 10 minutes late because the speech therapist was SLEEPING !!!!! And she admitted she is suffering a jet-lag..... Even the quality of session was horrible but, AS EXPECTED, she mentioned that it is my son who was bad on that day....

Negative experience: I would RECOMMEND NOT BRINGING your child here for speech therapy services...They suck! They demand consistency when they themselves can't offer consistency except a time slot with a therapist...My son received services from this company and they were the worst company I have come across and worked with...The assessment/evaluation went great and the people were very nice and thorough, but thats as far as it went...SO DONT GET FOOLED BY THE INITIAL ASSESSMENT/Evaluation...They get worse! They would CUT MY SONS speech sessions short because the therapist had to use the restroom...TWICE THIS HAPPENED! And not like 5 minutes early...More like 13 minutes early...Time that could have been used wisely teaching him SOMETHING, ANYTHING! Or How about using the restroom before the therapy starts Lady? If u have a BATHROOM EMERGENCY, THEN MY SON SHOULD HAVE THAT TIME MADE UP...I'm sure they are STILL BILLING THE SAME! And billing for the entire session and not just for the 20 minutes she was with my son...I believe that's FRAUD...You aren't suppose to bill for time NOT GIVEN and for SERVICES NOT PROVIDED! Then ANOTHER therapist ALSO cut his time SHORT BECAUSE HE WAS DOING "Good" that day...SERIOUSLY? My son is NON VERBAL! I'm sure SHE could have used those 10 minutes SHE let him out early 3 TIMES and done something else...Then, some therapist allowed me to participate and others preferred me NOT to be in the room while they had speech and to just come back 10 min before speech is over to discuss the session and things to work on at hom...Also, my son went through I dont know maybe 5 therapists in 6 months...And that's not counting substitutes...How is any child suppose to improve their speech under these conditions? So we told this company that we were done with them and we stopped going...They must have NOT MADE NOTE OF THAT CONVERSATION AND THEY CALLED US TO TELL US THAT SINCE WE MISSED 3 SESSIONS, THEY CAN NO LONGER PROVIDE US WITH SERVICES and are going to cancel us...I said excuse me? But WE ARE THE ONES WHO NO LONGER WANT YOUR SERVICES...Horrible company and I rather go somewhere else...WASTE OF TIME HERE! I ended going to another place that he received MUCH MUCH BETTER SERVICES...Made good progress...So he took a break and had to start speech again...WE UNFORTUNATELY GOT RECOMMENDED TO MAXUM THERAPY AGAIN...I was NOT PLEASED AND OF COURSE DID NOT CALL THEM TO SCHEDULE AN evaluation...Instead I called the Dr. back and requested another location...I was NOT INTERESTED IN THIS COMPANY IN THE SLIGHTEST...Then like a week later or so someone from MAXUM THERAPY CALLS ME AND SAYS THEY DONT WANT OUR BUSINESS...I said I dont care because the one NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR BUSINESS IS US...I had NO INTENTION IN CALLING THIS COMPANY FOR ANY SERVICES and I called my Dr. ASAP TO BE MOVED SOMEWHERE ELSE...I RECOMMENDED anyone else do the same...Just go back to your Dr. and ask for another referral to another place =) There are much better places that don't cut time short FOR DUMB REASONS

Hi Laura,Firstly I would like to apologize for your negative experience with us. I can assure you that our goal is to provide the best quality care for our patients and it sounds like some of our procedures have caused you to have a negative experience. We truly apologize! I would like to touch on some of the key points you made to simply explain from our companies perspective to give you an understanding as to WHY some of these things occurred and also to assure you we will continue to train our staff in the right direction as we take patient and parent feedback VERY seriously:1. Regarding “we demand consistency from our patients, when we cannot offer it” – we do have a very strict cancellation policy in that we ask to be alerted by 2pm the previous day so we have time to offer that opening to another patient if need be. If we are notified in less than that time frame, it becomes difficult for us to be able to offer it to our patients late in the evening for the next day (short notice) – therefore, we do ask our parents to schedule consistently and come in for therapy not only for that reason, but because attending regular therapy sessions is the best way to make progress.2. The reason we don’t always offer the same therapist is to get the child used to social interaction amongst multiple people – it is GOOD for the child to become comfortable with our staff so we have a good rapport among our therapy team as a whole. We take the time to review each patient’s medical needs individually.3. I am glad you mentioned our initial visit was a pleasant experience, and we apologize that you did not feel that way for your therapy visits afterwards. We do offer 45 minute speech sessions and clinically, part of those 45 minutes allows for documentation of the visit for billing purposes, so it may seem that sessions “get cut short” but it is typically so the therapist has time to document what happened during the session. I am sorry if this was not relayed to you initially. One thing we have added is a parent orientation for each new patient so that they are aware of all of these intricacies and guidelines we follow based on what the insurance asks of us. I can assure you also that there is no billing fraud happening – we bill based on each insurances guidelines for timed therapy units according to Medicare, Medi-Cal or other commercial guidelines depending on insurance type.4. Regarding our cancellation policy, I noticed you mentioned after 3 cancellations we called you to cancel your future sessions and refer you to another clinic for not meeting our policy requirements. I apologize if our policy was not reviewed with you thoroughly, but we do review with each parent and have them sign a copy of our policy stating they are aware of our requirements. One big part of making gains in therapy is by regularly attending and if the patient is not able to make it to their scheduled appointments OR let us know by 2pm the day before they need to cancel, we do consider those instances as a late cancel or no show, which we only allow 3 instances of before we decide that now might not be the best time to try therapy at our clinic. We want to be able to offer those appointments to those who will commit to therapy to make progress.5. I truly apologize if the phrasing of “we don’t want your business” was used – I will make sure our front office staff does not speak to parents or patients that way, we try to continually improve in our customer service skills. We should have simply alerted you and your physician that we previously referred to another clinic due to our attendance policy not being met, and to assist you in continuing to get the care you need for your son at another clinic. We are always happy to present any medical notes or evaluation reports to you or your physician to help facilitate that process. Please don’t hesitate to contact us to speak with management if you have any other concerns at 7146468318. - maXum Therapy Management
