Fantastic experience: My daughter's physical therapist is knowledgeable and tries different therapies that have brought relief.

Fantastic experience: Foothills PT at 1702 South Val Vista in Mesa is one fantastic place to get put back together. Matt Midkiff is beyond amazing, his overall knowledge is one of a kind. Matt not only teaches others with calmness and complete focus, he treats his patients the same, totally focused on providing the best care for each individual and is extremely calm which radiates confidence to the patient. After getting two treatments from another PT place, I was referred by a friend to Matt at Foothills and I'm extremely grateful Matt squeezed me in to help me with my shoulder injury, doctors wanted to do surgery but Matt suggested PT along with dry needles/deep tissue massage and it's worked out AMAZING. Talk about night and day difference between PT places, I'd definitely return if I had another injury. The care here from Matt and others is top notch. The facility is clean and orderly, up to date machines and every kind of item needed for exercises for any injury. This office also runs ON TIME, there is never any waiting or wasted time during treatments, very important to me. Totally recommend Foothills PT on Val Vista and definitely see Matt Midkiff.

Fantastic experience: Matt Midkiff and his team at Foothills are the absolute best! They’ve helped us so much over the years. Firstly, when my daughter played soccer and had to recover from wear and tear of the sport, including a Lisfranc injury & surgery. Both Matt and my daughter worked very hard so that she’d be able to play college soccer again, and she did! And now, after recently shattering my wrist, he was there for me too. After having been referred to the surgeon’s PT, and it not starting out very positively for me, I called Matt and he reassured me that he could help. And he did! As a dental hygienist, I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to work again, but he helped me get back to working with the patients I love. I’m truly grateful to Matt and his entire staff! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Fantastic experience: I pulled a muscle on my right shoulder a year ago and recently on my left shoulder. (I will soon be 75.) I cannot boast enough about the professional care I received from these young staff. They were so knowledgeable and so respectful.

Negative experience: PT's and assistants were nice and the facility is really big. However, It was really crowded everytime i went and i felt like i was "processed" like a McDonald's customer would. Didn't feel like the therapy was personalized for my issue at all but just a set of standard things everyone was given. Exercise was demo'd then attendant walked away leaving me on my own and lots of times, standing waiting for someone to come back and give the next. Facility also feels like they just moved in without finishing the renovations from being some other business. Concrete floor, big open space for everything in one big room(waiting room, office desks, exercise equipment etc. all on the concrete floor) Felt like a gutted building they just moved chairs, desks and various therapy equipment into one day.

Fantastic experience: Very professional! My special needs daughter goes here and it has been so helpful. She has made great progress, AND it is a positive experience that motivates her constantly. She loves all the people there, and they have been fantastic.

Fantastic experience: We love working with Matt and his team. They are always positive, professional and truly care about the people they are treating. We wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Negative experience: My daughter had pain on her right scapula and it was really mild and didn't occur often. However, after a year and the pain starting to get worse she decided to go to a physician and they referred us here. They said it was scapular winging and her shoulder muscles weren't very strong. We were consistent with coming for the first six months of therapy but for the next six months she was there and it not getting any better (actually worse) we were less consistent. Overall we were there for a year and her PT hadn't referred her to anyone else. So we went to a doctor, got an MRI, trigger point injections, switched physical therapists and actually found an answer. It was scoliosis that was causing humped ribs and the scapular winging plus misaligned clavicles. I would think that a physical therapist would see all of the these especially after a year. The new one had her take her shirt off, she had a sports bra underneath (The old PT did not take her shirt off) and noticed these signs almost immediately. Then created a plan that was very different from the exercises her old PT was making her do. The techs also gave her more attention making sure was doing the exercise right. Coming here caused not only a year of wasted time but also the later diagnosis of scoliosis made back bracing impossible. So if I had young kid with back pain I definitely wouldn't come here.

Paige is very kind and has helped me strengthen my muscles to ease the pain in my knee. Recommend 100%. Also, don’t forget to say goodbye to Paige when you’re finished for the day too!

Fantastic experience: I had chronic lower back and hip pain that was only getting worse. Will really took the time to ascertain what the root cause was and was able to help me correct it in only a few weeks. In the past when I've had to go to physical therapy it's been largely self directed with very little interaction with the therapist. That is opposite of my experience with Will. He was very tuned in and hands on which I know is why I'm happily pain free today. Thanks Will!

Fantastic experience: I had come into this physical therapy after an ACL surgery. For a month I was not given proper therapy and I came into here looking for help. From the start they immediately wanted to help me. All the physical therapist here are friendly and love to help! They have positive attitudes and always do their best to make us better. All the techs are extremely helpful and do their best to make you feel comfortable. They constantly check how you are doing and how you feel. It has been amazing working with Matt and Kelly! They have pushed me to get better and succeed with my knee. This is over ally a great physical therapy and a great experience! :-)

They were very helpful and knowledgeable on building my strength back after two knee surgeries in the past 8 months. Negative experience: When I finished physical therapy at Foothills Sports Medicine I was in worse pain. I constantly asked the physical therapist to address the pain I felt. These requests were left unanswered. I’ve been going to Arizona Manual Therapy 2 weeks and feel better than the entire time I went to Foothills. PASS ON FOOTHILLS AND GO TO AZ MANUAL THERAPY!

Fantastic experience: I’ve done a decent amount of PT and my visit today was fantastic. The therapist I had did a great job of explaining the situation with me, was knowledgeable and took time to work on me personally and it was only my first visit. He gave me the tools and instructions to work on my own but also invited me to come back if it wasn’t doing the trick. To top it off, the visit was free! Hard to come by good service, I was treated well, taken care of and my time was respected. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I personally haven’t had an in person experience at this sports facility. However following them on Instagram has been so helpful and informative. I love the detailed explanations and visuals used. They always add great content and interact with their audience! With everything that’s been shared with me on the social media platform I’m confident I would be using their services and they’d be the first ones to come in mind if I were injured or had to refer someone to a sports physical therapist. :)

Fantastic experience: The staff here is absolutely amazing! They make physical therapy fun and entertaining. I worked with Megan on an ankle injury and surgery I had and she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with my recovery. She really cares about her patients and helping them return to play in the best way possible. I would highly recommend visiting this location to anyone and everyone. They were also very diligent with working and protecting patients and staff through the COVID pandemic and it’s effects. Like I said previously absolutely amazing!

Fantastic experience: Great PT experience! Writing a review for my mom (she’s not tech savy) who goes there regularly for PT. She raves about her physical therapist, Gabriel Lucas, every time she goes! She feels he is responsive to her physical concerns, Figures out the source of her pain and works it out using various PT techniques. My mom especially loves the pin point deep pressure massage, blade scraping, tens unit, and exercises. Overall she loves her experience there!

Fantastic experience: My experience here was amazing! I came in to see Gabe for a free eval and he was so helpful. As a former college athlete I have seen my fair share of PT’s and Gabe is already one of my favorites. Apart from being extremely kind, I felt like he knew all the right questions to ask and ultimately was able to properly diagnose all my aches and pains. Thanks to the entire team there at foothills!

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough good things about my experience here with Matt as my Physical Therapist. The clinic is always welcoming and upbeat. Everyone in there is wanting you to succeed. The PT Techs are friendly and knowledgeable. Fantastic experience: Both of my daughters were D1 soccer players and grew up playing competitive youth soccer. As a result, both suffered various injuries. I was involved in a car accident and also suffered some injuries that required physical therapy. Matt Midkiff at Gilbert foothills sports medicine is hands down the best. The staff that he surrounds himself with is nothing short of outstanding. Matt is the only physical therapist I would ever recommend. In fact, I have sent multiple people to him and none has ever been disappointed!

Fantastic experience: I have experienced a multitude of injuries while being a competitive athlete in basketball, olympic weightlifting, and then Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Each time I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to compete again, Cassie Hippensteel and Matt Midkiff were able to get me back to training and competing time and time again. The physical therapists and staff at Foothills- Gilbert/Mesa go above and beyond in helping you to get back to doing what you love. They not only care about you as a patient, but as a human being. And thats what is so great about this clinic. If you're considering doing PT here, don't hesitate and head in right away!

Fantastic experience: About a month ago I sustained a knee injury and was referred by my Orthopedic Surgeon to physical therapy. I was given given a few options and Foothills Sports Medicine Physical Therapy was recommended to me by a number of people by far. I chose the Gilbert/Mesa location and I’m extremely glad I did. My Physical Therapist Paige Johnson has been amazing. Since day one she has been nothing but positive, supportive, and doesn’t let me quit. I’m a few days away from surgery and I’m confident that with her help I’ll be back to my normal activity in no time. Even though painful at times, Paige finds ways to make it fun, distracting me from the pain. All of their staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. I have a long post-surgical recovery, and I’m glad my recovery will be spent at Foothills Sports Medicine Physical Therapy Gilbert location.

Fantastic experience: This place is the best! Kristen Bennett took care of me through multiple injuries but always found a way to keep making progress despite 3 surgeries in the course of 1 year. The front desk is so kind and helpful. The assistants are great as well, but big shout out to Devyn and Sam for helping me navigate it all. Great hours and availability. Kristen is so great!!! Fantastic experience: I am a college baseball player. Recently had a sports hernia and had to have my adductor in my groin taken out. Had surgery in mid April and started coming into Foothills the following week. Been coming in for 3 months now. Matt and his staff have done an amazing job working with me to get back to 100%. He created a plan for me and adjusted my workouts based on how I was feeling and the activities that I had going on that day/ week. I got cleared and was back to feeling my best, but continued to come in and work with Matt for another 2 1/2 weeks before I headed back to school because of how strongly I trusted him and his workouts for me. 10/10 recommend. Appreciate Matt and all his staff over at Foothills!

Fantastic experience: The COVID pandemic brought me home to Gilbert for the summer and as much of a bummer as it is I wouldn’t have changed it, because I got the privilege of doing physical therapy at Foothills for 10 weeks. The summer flew by and I enjoyed coming in each week talking to the techs and getting the best care. Everyone is very knowledgeable and encouraging and the environment is welcoming. Matt Midkiff knows so many techniques to get you healed and many exercises to build your strength.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend! All of the staff are friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. My physical therapist, Paige Johnson, is amazing! I had a herniated disc in my neck and was in constant and terrible pain. Paige was able to help me get relief quickly and provided me with easy exercises and stretches to continue doing at home.

Fantastic experience: My 13 year old son is a goalie and had a his hip flexor strain. Before we saw Matt he was limping around barely able to put any pressure on the hip and he was thinking he wouldn’t be able to play anymore. Matt and his team were amazing when it came to incorporating soccer conditioning and his position into his therapy treatment. Now he is back on the field doing what he loves. Very happy son and parents :)

About a year ago I starting seeing Gabe here and I had no idea how much my life would change. Not only are all the staff some of the kindest people, but Gabe personalized my plan and got me back to my normal self. I wish I could give this place more stars. Fantastic experience: Five stars is not enough. I am so grateful for Megan Jerome, and the entire staff, at Foothills. After a serious car accident early this year, I turned to Megan to lead my path to recovery. I had numerous injuries, which can be difficult to address all at once. However, Megan's hands on, and very involved approach to her patient's care, allows each individual to reach their own personal recovery goals in a timely manner, addressing each one's specific needs. My son recently became a patient as well, after a dance injury threatened his entire dance career. Physical therapy with Megan, has gotten him back to the competition and performance stage, with the strength and confidence he needs to be successful. We are both eternally grateful for all of the time and efforts of Megan Jerome, and the ENTIRE staff, at Foothills Sports Medicine Physical Therapy.

Fantastic experience: This is my third time using Foothills an I would come back again if and when I need more PT. The employees there are great to work with and very friendly and helpful. The facility is clean with lot of equipment to use. Whatever your problem may be, that is the place to go.

Fantastic experience: This team knows their stuff and are very caring! They provide a variety of exercises and techniques to help get you back on top of your game. Very friendly, family-type atmosphere! After surgery for a detached tendon in my hip, I came in using a walker. They taught me how to "wake-up" the muscles in my leg using exercises so I could walk. After 8 weeks i graduated to a cane, then 3 weeks later i was walking by myself. I am so very grateful to the team at Foothills. Their positive attitudes and encouragement were truly wonderful. Now I know what exercises to continue with at home so I can continue to improve!

Fantastic experience: Wonderful therapy. Hate the pain, but love the results. I am particularly impressed that I am assigned to a staff person as soon as I walk in the door and my exercise/therapy begins immediately. There is NO down time. It is nice to know that they consider my time important to me.

Fantastic experience: I won't lie i was nervous my first therapy session but MISS Bennett got my ankle a moving and popping ,which is what it needed.I feel like they actually care about what happens to you outside of therapy . The team is just awesome and beyond friendly!!! I would highy recommend them, if you need physical therapy. It is also so cool to watch all various ages of peple who come in for therapy fro kids ,teens 20 to 70 or so It inspires me to think I want to be able to do that or if that little kid can do this ,come on Janet you got this. Fantastic experience: I came for therapy because of back pain. After a few treatments my pain is gone. I especially like the massage Jessica gives. I am always seen in a timely manner and given stretches to do. The facility is spotless and the staff all seem to enjoy their jobs. Parking is convenient and plentiful. Fantastic experience: From the counter staff to the Therapist to the Techs(Troy,Bianca and Jake), Foothill Sports Medicine is a very patient friendly environment. Matt was genuinely concerned, open and upfront regarding my treatment plan. Was very attentive to what my physical needs were in relation to my job. I’ve had a sorted medical past for injuries and have never had the same physical therapist for each injury. God willing I don’t get broken again but if I do, my Therapy will be with The Staff at Foothills Sports Medicine.

Fantastic experience: I put off dealing with a shoulder injury from snowboarding hoping it would heal itself over time. After THREE years with constant nagging pain, even waking me at night, I decided I couldn't live like this for the rest of my life. I reluctantly tried physical therapy, and am amazed that this old injury could actually find relief! Jess was very knowledgeable in finding exactly the problem, and I never would have asked for "dry needling", but Matt and Gabe are highly skilled and the relief superseded any discomfort. I highly recommend the entire team at Foothills Sports Medicine!!

Fantastic experience: I've been to many physical therapy places before and they are theost caring and warm enivorment I've ever been in. They explain things without speaking down to you. The mood in there is always cheery. They've helped me out with a work Injury ND I've very grateful for that. I have to have hip surgery and I will be coming g back here for my rehab.

Fantastic experience: EXCELLENT CARE across the board: sincere, knowledgeable, experienced, kind, expert patient care here. I have been in the exceptional care of this practice for almost a year now and can't imagine going elsewhere. I changed orthopedics and insisted my new physician write my new script for Foothills Gilbert/Mesa even though my Ortho practice has convenient on-site physical therapy. I blew out my knee almost a year ago now and have struggled through unsuccessful surgeries, but my therapist, Kristi and team have been phenomenal through it all, accommodating me and more than meeting my medical needs. Knowing and witnessing the owners still practice their craft as therapists is key to the success with which this site operates. The practice functions within a fluid environment with ease: friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable front desk administration + expert therapists with great bedside manners + helpful technicians + on-site owners + well equipped facility = a happy, motivated patient!

Negative experience: Was told I would pay out of pocket one amount BUT was charged MORE for every list. Not acceptable. Beware!!!!
