Up to 80% of people may experience back pain at some point in their lives. Severe and persistent back pain can be a major obstacle, resulting in anxiety, depression, decreased productivity, and reduced enjoyment of recreational activities. Back pain may be caused by issues with the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints of the spine, as well as factors such as repetitive strain, poor posture, weak core muscles, and limited flexibility in the hips and lower limbs.

Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD) is a condition affecting the joint or the muscles and tissues surrounding the jaw. It can be caused by a variety of factors such as poor posture, imbalances in the chewing muscles, inflammation, or trauma from whiplash or dental issues. It can also be due to the wearing down of the articulating surfaces of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), which can lead to jaw pain.

Our brain and body have a variety of systems that maintain our balance and posture in space. If any of these systems are not working correctly, it can lead to frequent dizziness or lack of balance. To determine the cause of the recurring balance problems, it is essential to differentiate between the systems. Vision, vestibular issues (inner ear), central and peripheral nervous system issues, and musculoskeletal system imbalances or weaknesses could all be potential causes.

Modern science and technology have allowed for significant advances in the effectiveness and application of surgical procedures. However, the long-term success of these operations ultimately depends on the patient's overall health and ability to recover. Research has shown that pre-operative treatment has a major impact on hospital stays and post-operative recovery times. To reduce the chances of complications during the healing process, targeted strengthening and cardiovascular exercises are essential.

After the surgery, our experienced Physical Therapists will work with the surgeon to make sure you are following the surgical plan. By providing education and specialized rehabilitation during the recovery, it will help you to return to a healthy and active lifestyle more quickly and reduce the risk of any further harm.

Pain, stiffness, and decreased range of motion in the hip can be a big obstacle to participating in leisure activities and everyday tasks. Moving, squatting, bending, and twisting at the hip should be painless, smooth, and steady. Prolonged sitting, whether in a car, at work, or at home, can gradually discourage healthy movement patterns, increasing the risk of serious injury and reducing quality of life. Our experienced therapists will assess your mobility, strength, and identify your symptoms to determine if the lower back or lower limbs are contributing.

One of the most commonly injured areas of the body is the knee joint. Sprains, strains, and overuse injuries can cause long-term discomfort even after the initial injury or aggravating event. The combination of compressive and rotational forces acting on the knee can lead to these injuries. Factors such as gravity, body composition, dynamic movement patterns, and the ability to coordinate movement can all contribute to which muscle, tendon, or ligament is affected and how severely. To return to an active and healthy lifestyle, targeted strengthening, gait retraining, and mobility exercises can be very beneficial.

The cervical spine has 37 joints that give it more range of motion than any other part of the spine. This flexibility, along with its role in maintaining the stability of the head during sustained postures and quick movements, can make the neck susceptible to injury. Neck pain can be associated with headaches, jaw or shoulder pain. The type of symptoms experienced depend on the muscles, joints, or nerves that are affected by the injury. In order to reduce the severity of the symptoms and regain control of your life, it is essential to get a professional assessment, whether the injury is from an acute whiplash or a chronic posture-related strain.

The sun was shining brightly in the sky.

I was able to overcome a decade of debilitating chronic pain, severe chronic muscle spasms, multiple fractured vertebrae, multiple ruptured discs, sciatica, and scoliosis. Despite numerous treatments and medications that did not provide any relief, I eventually found a solution that changed my life.

Fantastic experience: Julianne has spoiled me for any other PT! No shaming, blaming, nagging. She treats me like a person with a physical issue rather than a mechanical object. She adjusts to my needs. Best ever!

Fantastic experience: Just “graduated” from physical therapy and I couldn’t be happier with the care I received from Matt, Josh and the whole GLPT crew. Their methods are innovative and produce great results. My low back, which has plagued me for years, feels SO much better and, more importantly, Matt has laid the groundwork for me to continue my recovery and training on my own. I’m so grateful and I HIGHLY recommend them.

Fantastic experience: My doctor referred me to Good Life for the hip pain I was experiencing when running. I worked primarily with Stacy and she was amazing! The exercises and stretches she recommended helped tremendously and I was able to better understand my body and what I needed to do in order to get back to where I wanted to be. Everyone I worked with at Good Life was extremely friendly and amazing.

Fantastic experience: I had such a good experience at Good Life PT! Stacey was great; As an athlete, she helped me get on track to practicing and exercising as I had been pre-injury. In fact, by doing the exercises she suggested, I feel even stronger than before! Additionally, all staff was friendly and professional at each appointment... 10/10 recommend!

Fantastic experience: I have experienced back pain for over 10 years, after a short course of physical therapy with Josh, it feels the best it has in a long time. With his extensive experience and expertise, he helped me get back to exercising and golfing regularly. All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming at GoodLife and as a fellow therapist, I highly recommend you go see him for PT.

Fantastic experience: Good Life Therapy helped me recover from two different surgeries. I am thankful I was recommended to them as other PT locations I have had in the past were not as good at recovery as I would have hoped. I highly recommend Good Life to anyone recovering from surgery who need PT treatment.

Negative experience: Good Life Physical Therapy & Sports Performance literally earns its name. Just received my bill. The insurance was billed for more than 50% of the total and what I am left paying is still more than what I have paid comparable providers. I found the service typical offhandedness of physical therapists, treating me more as a piece of meat than a patient and never really connecting all the dots. For at home exercises, I was given 4 separate programs in a 1-week period. I had provided my PT a DVD of a spinal x-ray I had taken. He never discussed it with me. When I went to retrieve it, at one point the location was locked up during posted open hours and then a rerouted call said no one was at the front desk at this location. Several other times I called to retrieve it, the phone was not answered. Staff is friendly and smiling. If their pay reflects the significantly higher than average industry rate, I can see why.

Good Life Physical Therapy & Sports Performance

Hello Bill, We appreciate you noticing our smiling team. We love what we do and always try to make everyone feel welcome. We apologize that other aspects of your experience were not up to your expectations. We feel as though we have some of the most talented and charismatic Physical Therapists in the business, and we are sorry that you feel your treatment was not reflective of that. Unfortunately, we can’t control the pricing of insurance rendered services as the individual insurance provider negotiates their market rate and holds us accountable to their contracts. If you’d like, we do have an array of reasonable self-pay options that many customers elect in lieu of insurance. We do strive to answer all calls, but always emphasize the person in front of us, so we apologize if your call went unanswered. We always make a point to return missed calls from those who leave messages, so we hope that you connected with our team even if we didn’t answer initially. Bill, we truly apologize that we didn’t meet your service expectations. We always appreciate feedback and will take your thoughts to improve your experience in the future. -Good Life PT

Negative experience: This business came highly recommended. When I arrived they wouldn’t allow me to continue with my appointment (scheduled for weeks) because of a choice I made regarding my health. Discrimination is awful.

Good Life Physical Therapy & Sports Performance

We are deeply saddened and disappointed that discrimination is your interpretation of our mask policy. Expressions of religious and cultural freedoms are certainly welcome in our clinics! However, as a medical facility, we require all staff, patients, and visitors to wear a mask while in our clinic at this time regardless of vaccination status, personal, political, or religious beliefs which we proactively communicate to all visitors. As a health care provider we take our commitment to the health, safety, and well being of everyone in our clinic very seriously. Treating everyone without discrimination is at the core of what we believe and is the foundation on which Good Life was built. We welcome you to visit us again at any point, but we continue to ask all visitors to wear their mask onsite in accordance with current medical guidelines.
