Negative experience: Every ER trip to this hospital has been a complete nightmare. This is obviously where all medical staff on their last chances go to have their careers die. These people are extremely rude and unorganized. They treat everyone who comes in like a drug addict, and when you do eventually get into a room, the plan for care changes every 20 minutes. I was there 2 days ago after being referred by Urgent Care to have an MRI. I never received the MRI, and the doctor never did the things he said that he was going to do. Let's not even mention how bruised up my inner elbow is because one nurse couldn't get the IV inserted properly. I would rather drive further to a better hospital than ever go back here. If I could give negative stars, I would.

Fantastic experience: Good Hospital in Gresham/Troutdale location. Emergency Room always available 24/7/365.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had both my babies there back in 2020 & now 2024. I couldn’t express my gratitude for those nurse/OB/Doctors. They were all amazing both times. With my second there were a lot of complications and trauma that came along with it and to the nurses who held my hand, encouraged me, let me cry in private with them and made me feel so amazing is such a scary spot, thank you for making my special days something to remember!

Fantastic experience: I had the BEST experience in the Emergency Dept. today. Respect and kindness all the way through from reception to xray and dr and staff. I was helped, listened to, and in and out in less than 3 hours! I’ve been to OHSU lately and it was a third world country. Bloody gauze on the floor, mean RNs the whole thing. SO happy Legacy exists when you need it most!

Negative experience: I took my wife in for her having severe pain in her groin area after something popped and she got very dizzy, couldn't move for five minutes and was seen by Dr. Parker. Dr Parker did absolutely nothing to find out what the cause of this was or what the actual problem is. Dr Parker came in and barely touched her side for a split second and said “I think you’re fine, I think it’s your hip tendon that got rubbed or split”. She did not take any blood tests of any kind!? What if this is a bigger issue that can be severe or life threatening down the road? So doctors just go off of guessing now? She did not diagnose in any way just threw out something that it could’ve been. I’m very unsatisfied with Dr Parker and disgusted at the way they handle their patients at MT Hood medical in Gresham, OR. What is she really doing that makes her a doctor besides having a degree? She needs to be investigated and actually take care of patients that come in with issue's instead of assuming what is wrong with ppl by only looking at them. I hope she gets treated the same way she treated my wife when she has a serious health issue.

Fantastic experience: Friendly, clean, professional. I had surgery on Sept 6 and I have to say it was a very good experience. I recommend this place. I would give it 10 stars my nurse Gail is a true compassionate person.

Negative experience: Zero Stars, this emergency room is ridiculous. was takin in this morning by my spouse, I saw the doctor for 30seconds. My potassium was critical low, i have been having heart related symptom's with this. I explained i was seen in another ER not even a week ago, and that my potassium keeps going lower I explained it is to low for my to get up on my own and normally it will take 4 bags of potassium to even move, they didn't even recheck my labs, the staff didn't listen. I'm still having symptoms. Now my BF is taking me to a different hospitals.

Negative experience: The doctors don’t give a crap here. They will take 5 hrs just to get to you when literally 3 ppl in the waiting room. If you’re wanting emergency help, go somewhere else!!

Positive experience: My Friend was scheduled for a nephrectomy yesterday. On Tuesday she was contacted by the hospital to let her know that her surgery was being canceled due to the surgery equipment not being able to be sterilized. She has not been contacted yet regarding re-scheduling. How can this be? She is devastated, as is her husband.

Negative experience: Please try to go when Jenna R Newcomb is not working. I was seen three consecutive nights by three different medical providers. First two offered help, but Jenna R Newcomb brings a security guard to my room to tell me she can’t help me. She needs to go back to Pennsylvania ASAP. Dr. Leanora W Merwin who is a doctor of Osteopathic medicine only helped because she knew the science supposedly. Dr. Andrew I Mones an MD offered help right away. Now to our beloved Jenna. She’s not even a doctor. I think the doctors just keep her around so that she can deliver bad news. Newcomb Barkhimer, Jenna Rae, PA PA License: PA164481 Originally Issued: 10/15/2013 Current Status: Active Status Effective: 1/1/2024 Expires: 12/31/2025 Basis: NCCPA (PANCE) Not that reviews will deter people from going to this medical facility, but at least you can get an idea of how you may be treated and be prepared. My only suggestion is to make their job difficult if they fail you, because why not? ☺️ To the security guards who manhandled me CORY M. and BRYCE D. I understand were just doing their jobs, so I apologize for making it difficult for you two. But why be so violent?

Negative experience: I went in for a kidney stone and I finally got to see the doctor and she asked me why I was here. I told her that I had a 9 mm kidney stone and I can’t pass it. She told me that they don’t deal with people who have 9 mm kidney stones you could go home and pass it. She’s the worst ER doctor ever they need to look into it. They don’t care about the people. Everybody can’t pass a 9 mm kidney stone. She should know that everybody’s different she shouldn’t be our doctor. I hate going to Mount Hood emergency, second time I had to deal with her in a year She doesn’t belong there and once I find out her name, I’ll let everybody know

Fantastic experience: Had surgery here for small bowel obstruction December 1st, 2023. Was admitted a few days prior to surgery as tried to resolve the issue without surgery as this was surgery #10 for me, all abdominal surgeries. My 9 prior surgeries were all in Las Vegas. I can say hands down, this was the best experience for me of all of them. My medical care was top notch! They managed my pain, kept me well informed. Anytime I needed to hit my call button, response was quick! My fiance also had surgery here in November 2023 for a double hernia & his care was fantastic. They will definitely be my "Go=To" for any emergency care. We both were admitted thru the emergency room. We were seen quickly & with great care. Thank you Legacy Mount Hood for your professional & caring team! ❤️

Fantastic experience: The best doctors for my obgyn I have ever had.

James Ross 1 year ago

Negative experience: Takes way too long. Waited for 3 hours with a needle painfully in my arm for a doctor. If there was a way to rate 0 stars I would pick it. Do not pick this.

Taylor Osterloh 1 year ago

Negative experience: The doctor giving me my chest X-ray results made me feel very uncomfortable and when trying to leave the room he blocked the door and pushed me. I was able to open the door, and get out in tears. The doctor very loudly started yelling he needs help, that I had pushed him. I’m 5’2 and this doctor was atleast 6’5, big man. I had been there for 5 hours and just wanted my results. Instead I was assaulted, and escorted out. Don’t treat patients like this, should be embarrassed of yourselfs.

Negative experience: Worst hospital ever, spent over 4 hours here and still haven't seen the doctor yet

Negative experience: As a healthcare professional myself the workflow of this hospital is appalling for patients who have mental health issues and addictions. They've not changed the way they do things since I've been a patient over 13 years ago. Very disappointing.

Negative experience: I could have a severed limb and I would drive to the next hospital for care. I came in with a spinal cord/ neck injury and the doctor diagnosed me with TMJ even though I answered no to all of his questions. I also told him I had already been evaluated for this before but he didn’t want to hear about any events leading up to that day. He was rude and dismissive. I didn’t expect to get diagnosed that day but I was there because I had been having dizzy spells, vision issues and head/ neck pain and was concerned about driving and returning to work. No direction or recommendation was given and it was obvious I was wasting their time. I was sent home with low sodium levels which were never even addressed by anyone. I would not recommend this place.

Lori Wise 1 year ago

Positive experience: The security officer was super nice and helpful along with the receptionist and triage nurses. It was a little bit of a wait to be seen but I felt like the Dr genuinely cared about helping me and wasnt just trying to get me out of there. He went above and beyond to try and figure out what was wrong with me and ultimately his thoroughness caught something that otherwise might have gone undefeated for who knows how long.

Scribbles Boo 1 year ago

Negative experience: This is by far the worst hospital out there. I came in because I literally fell, landed on my face, and lost consciousness. I’m told “you’re the next to be seen” someone asks how long the wait is and I overhear 2 hours… an hour and a half goes by and a few people have already been called. I go up and I ask “I thought I was the next one?” The lady says “i meant by the intake nurse” ohkay why not say that then?! And then I ask how long is the wait, she says 2 hours… an hour and a half ago it was 2 hours. Like.. make it make sense the math ain’t mathin. The staff in this hospital have zero compassion, Oregon health care absolutely sucks.

Susan Hills 1 year ago

Negative experience: They have let an intellectually disabled 17 year old sit here in the ER waiting room for almost 2 hours with an empty IV bag vomiting repeatedly. Horrific. Find another hospital. You could die here waiting to be seen.

Anthony Kock 1 year ago

Negative experience: If there was a way to give zero stars, I would. Someone with a serious condition is made to wait in the lobby while everybody and their mother gets called back, even the people that came in way afterward. The receptionist and the security guards sit behind the glass completely making fun of and laughing at patients with psychological disorders. And when I get upset and say something, I’m made out to be overreacting. My girlfriend and I have now been waiting for about an 2 and a half hours while people while people that came in 5-10 minutes ago, are being called right back. The professionalism of the receptionists are is at zero. I seriously cannot believe what happened to this hospital. Whatever happened to the compassion people used to feel for one another. I will never return.

Diana Bello 1 year ago

Negative experience: The absolute WORST hospital in the area. The nurses have the nastiest attitude . The waiting times are more than 5 hours to be seen. You could die and they still would make you wait . The staff speaks about patients in front of other patients & constantly hold off on helping you if you need assistance. If I could give it 0 stars I would. There definitely needs to be an investigation into this place because it is a complete train wreck.

Negative experience: There security tried do to an unreasonable search on me they watched me walk out then walk right back in then refused to let me use the restroom as they said they had to search me again. I'm also dpsst state certified as they are. They do not have the right to unreasonable search you and refused to show there dpsst card upon request which is illegal to do so. They are untrained and do not know what they are doing. Since I'm state certified I have to report that to DPSST. Tried calling to talk to a manager and they hung up on me.

Maria Weber 1 year ago

Negative experience: If I could give them a zero star I would. They talk about patients in front of other patients and it is not okay.

Fantastic experience: I came into the emergency room for an unusual urologic issue. The staff, nurses and a doctor met with me and performed the necessary tests for my condition. 2.5 hours start to finish, including all test results.

Negative experience: Went to emergency room because legs have been abnormally swollen and painful for two weeks. ER doc said my vitals were normal and refused to do any further examination.

Jennifer Coffelt 1 year ago

Negative experience: My husband broke his leg and we we're left in the lobby for hours, AFTER X-RAY SHOWING IT WAS BROKEN! Horrible hospital...?

Dylan Velmere 1 year ago

Negative experience: Security is a joke here Even if you go in through an ambulance they're going to make you go through the metal detector and they wont just look in ur bag they are going to make sure to touch and move everything. This hospital is the biggest joke same for the emergency room. Thousands of dollars made a day and cant install a xray machine for patients and their belongings like seriously sad.

Fantastic experience: These people saved my life this year & I ended up staying w/them for almost the entire month of January. An seriously, some of that staff went above & beyond for me. I will never forget these people and the fantastic care they provided to me. They are definitely now my preferred hospital. They really did have my back and fought for me when they kept trying to release me because people typically don't stay in there once the situation is stable, they go home then come back in when the booked major surgery date arrives. But since I don't drive and I live all alone and had just almost died already x2 that month they agreed to keep me till my surgery was completed. Then shortly after that they started again with the wanting to release me and saying that it's common for people to go home by that many days after surgery. And kept asking if I had anybody even a neighbor who could come and check in on me after they send me home. I kept telling them no one to do this no one at all. The nurses who are caring for me pushed the issue with the doctors that I was in no shape to be at home all alone and to try and care for this huge surgery wound by myself all alone. We tried to see if I was qualified to go into a nursing home temporarily before going home but in the physical therapist that I had seen report they said that my walking was good enough to not need such help so therefore I wouldn't qualify for a nursing home. . But my nurses and my surgeon kept sticking up for me about whether I should or shouldn't be sent home in this condition all alone And I ended up getting to stay x2 weeks longer than typically for a person who have my same operation. I was so scared when the doctor kept talking about releasing me. But the nurses kept reassuring me that they will say something & I'd be alright. Well, lucky for me I had them on my team going out of their way to comfort and protect a person who had no family or anyone around to help. As I said before I will never forget these people. They truly did save my life.

Negative experience: Never going to their ER again after tonight. The only reason I’m giving them 2 stars is because all of the nurses and technicians are awesome. It’s their male doctors that need improvement while treating women patients and even the nurses and technicians agreed with me. I went in with some of the absolute worst pain I’ve had in my life only to be told that it was probably just a virus making me feel a bit crummy. I went in with severe abdominal, back, leg, head, and CHEST pain. Never got an ekg, had to push to get an ultrasound, had to wait until the doctor was trying to push me out of the door to get a glorified ibuprofen that did absolutely nothing and again had to push to get two percocets that also did nothing. I don’t feel ill in the slightest, just am in severe enough pain that I literally can’t even walk and feel like I’m going to pass out while I’m upright. Not good when I have to carry around my 5 month old. I had a nurse basically tell me that she would do her best to advocate on my behalf and that she fully believed me but basically said without saying it that the doctor who was treating me was most likely not going to do anything to help me… and he didn’t. They never asked if my medication list was up to date and now I’m wondering if that was the reason the doctor didn’t want to prescribe anything other than ibuprofen for me even though I told him that wasn’t working. On the meds list was an old prescription for ibuprofen and one for oxycodone but neither had refills and were OLD. Of course I didn’t know those were even still on my listed medications, along with a handful or so of other random meds that I haven’t taken since my son was born, until I got home and looked through my discharge papers in their entirety. Also logged into my myhealth portal and read through the notes and summary and my chest pain, back pain, and other things were conveniently missing and the ones listed were severely played down. I am beyond disappointed and can honestly say that I have NEVER been treated that badly or dismissively in my life. I felt horrible having to even try to advocate for myself because if anything I’m usually way too nice but with the amount of pain that I’m STILL in… I’ve had enough. If I wasn’t a mom who had a baby to take care of I wouldn’t have even bothered. Please advocate for yourself even if it makes you feel like a jerk because there are doctors who really don’t care.

Negative experience: Have taken ex/roommate in probably now 6-7 times for suicide attempts and alcohol addiction issues and they have every time sent her off on her way home to come back and continue abusing me and break my things. Last I checked suicide attempts are supposed to force the individual to stay a period of time to be evaluated and at this point with how many have been made you think they would send her to get the help she needs.

Fantastic experience: We were on vacation from California and my wife broke her ankle. We went to the emergency room and were taken care of with great care and compassion. We later needed the x-rays and files. Mason in the imaging library put all the info on disc and even brought it out to our car out front. He went above and beyond to help us. Thank you Mason, you are great individual

Negative experience: I thought hospitals were all about healing, avoid this place if you can at all cost! The stress to be seen and being seen is not worth going there. Horrible!

Shannon Rogers 1 year ago

Negative experience: Robert the nurse in ER was the worst, most uncaring, inconsiderate and inhumane person I’ve ever dealt with. Referred all attempts of care to higher authorities and refused any self responsibility or umph.

Negative experience: I have been coming to Legacy Emergency room when needed over last several years. After today, I question whether I will ever come back. I understand that there will be a wait in the ER, that’s the way it is, however, over the last 4 hours I have witnessed a man in a wheelchair ask 3 different nurses for help TO the bathroom, they all said the same thing, “ I’ll find someone”. Then I watched one of those same nurses walk out the front doors and off her shift. I don’t know if anyone ended up helping him. I used the bathroom before I left, after not being seen because some nurse snapped at me in the waiting room. Totally hurt my feelings. Made me not feel safe. The bathroom was so dirty! TP, papers all over. I’m so disappointed.

Negative experience: We have really hit a bad time in modernity when it comes to medical care. The Doctors have Zero incentive to treat patients with empathy. They only understand heart attacks and life and death surgeries to capitalize on....everyone in-between is screwed.

Fantastic experience: I've been to this hospital on a couple separate occasions and they have been nothing but helpful with addressing my injuries, health scares, and even an accidental jewlery mishap of an adornment getting stuck on my ring finger.

Positive experience: Long wait, but worth it for the great care. Everyone I saw in the ER was kind, gentle and empathetic. They listened to my issues, asked great questions and I left feeling seen, heard and cared for. Thank you.

Negative experience: They literally took months or more from my wife and Me together. She goes in for a liver biopsy with me there, until the procedure started and they made me leave. After She had the procedure and We talked, she said the nurse was using contaminated needles and the doctors kept yelling at her ( my wife said it was Kathy or sandy who kept giving previous used needles). I should have been allowed to stay for the procedure. She means everything to me and not much to the doctors at Mt Hood medical center. Would anyone, any nurse just admit to this? She was in constant pain from the minute We left Mt Hood medical centers seemingly untrained staff. You'll wait 4-5 hours in the emergency room or more, even with insurance.

Negative experience: Although the nurse who took ne into the back the nones who checked me in and did triage were rude, condensending, patronizing and demeaning. They were so bad I almost said this is not worth it i would rather deal with risk of life threatening condition then expose myself to their level of bigotry and negative hatred. This place went from bad to worse. Wish we could give negative stars just rude nasty and they told me to take medication my heart transplant team told me would damage my kidneys what typ of doctor specifically tells u to take medication that I harmful wish there was someone I coul call to report them

I had good visit over week befor i went in er but not until I went back, first thing nurse said was we have another one! Was very rude & unprofessional. Negative experience: I really will never go here again. If they know that you were a drug user or had any drug history automatically everything would be about well its probaly the drugs u use or used to use. Lol I want to say Mount Hood is a part of the problem when people go there for help they don't want to help you they don't want to actually help people find the problem of their pain so they can get clean and this is just in general or they don't want to refer you when they have the power to do all of that but you're scum now you are scum on the bottom of their shoe. I am experiencing horrible nerve pain and I got no help no referral which was what I was hoping for the only thing they did was run my blood test.. at least could have done a freaking so I could prove something is actually going on with my joints or nerves

Negative experience: Terrible hospital . Had me in the waiting room with needle in my arm for over 6 hours . Nurses were telling a Latino child who’s English was not very fluent to “ speak to her in English” patients weren’t taken back rather just seen in triage and sent home .

Negative experience: This is a terrible hospital. Wait times are unbelievable and staff does not care. Came in with my father for prolonged back pain. Had an x-ray done. Doctor said there was nothing wrong that he just pulled a muscle and to take Tylenol. I tried to explain multiple times that the pain has been intense and ongoing now. She said that it was a pulled muscle end of story. Recommend taking Tylenol and cold press. His pain has continued and extended to include difficulty breathing. Went to a regular clinic to seek care. Turns out he has broken ribs. They were compassionate and caring. Actually listened to him and found the cause of his problem. Avoid this hospital at all cause they DO NOT care.

Negative experience: My friend got taken there after he had a seizure. He was left in the waiting room for hours to the point he PASSED OUT and they did nothing. They just let him wait and then he asked for pain meds for his back because he's disabled and they had him sitting at an angle passed out for several hours and they told him to go home and that they're "not that kind of place" not what kind of place? Not a hospital?

Positive experience: My first and 2nd day were great, I went in for an appendix removal. My surgeon was awesome. The ER staff was awesome. My first two nurses were great. They made me feel very welcome and they were genuinely just really good people. It wasn’t until the third day and the third nurse who was very adamant about getting me out of there even though I was in extreme pain I could not walk and I hadn’t had a bowel movement yet. that’s when the visit turned horrible she hardly checked on me whereas the others would consistently check on me even though they were extremely busy and I told them not to at certain points cause I knew that they were so busy and they were just such nice girls ! the third woman really doesn’t seem to like her job. I won’t mention her name but I’m sure she knows who she is.

Negative experience: Love this hospital for ignoring important patients like have a hole in your hand but can help out everyone else, while socializing and ignoring you, it’s quite a skill to be so neglectful and have such a nice social conversation at the same time. Not to mention getting your blood pressure done on the arm that has a gaping hole in the hand but rushing you out while feeling you’re going to faint. Perfect. Or leaving patients with tourniquets on, getting rude and snippy and just overall the worst hospital I’ve been to and I’ve lived in Bakersfield CA with state insurance

Negative experience: Just do yourself and your loved ones the favor of taking a little bit of a farther drive and don’t go here. Everytime i’ve had to go it gets worse, there’s always new people, people getting treated with a lack of respect and staff using very casual language with people who are sick and in pain. I’m not going to share why i’ve had to go, i can only recommend that you stay away from here because you will not get treated in a timely manor nor will you get treated with respect or proper medical procedure.

Negative experience: I cannot believe I went in because I fell and busted my lip open really bad and had a concussion. They didn't even bring me back to a room, they had me wait in the intake room for 2 hours before telling me it should heal fine and to take ibuprofen and use orajel. I got 2 separate bills 1 from the hospital and a second from the physician totalling over $1200 for just that. What's worse is I stopped at an Urgent Care first and the receptionist told me I needed to go to the ER. This is highway robbery!

Rusti Mccollum 2 years ago

Negative experience: Last night in ER we had a Dr tell us they don't treat high blood pressure issues. I about fell off my chair. If my family member would have stroked or had a heart attack I'd be waiting with an attorney this morning. He did treat her but only after I said something . Her DR sent her to ER. Begs the question why send someone to ER if they don't treat those things . Her BP was high for two days. Shameful. The Dr stated she was referred because she ( he did air quotes") told her primary she was having chest pains.. like it was her fault . He NEVER addressed the chest issues. Staff didn't even know they'd drawn her blood . It took forever to be seen . We almost left and should have. This is my 3rd horrid experience in that ER with family. They ARE rude and I'm not even sure this dude was a Dr. If they are understaffed why buy a expensive high tech security robot? Why not hire friendly competent ppl with that money I'll also add they wanted to make sure they had her ins. Info tho. That they got right off.

Negative experience: JUST DONT USE MT HOOD!!!! In short, I can save you the time wasted. Regardless of what your conditions are and what your symptoms are they will always tell you that you’re a drug seeker. Also, there is zero compassion in the ED. The ED doctors that I’ve experienced twice were horrific. I left and went to Providence and I was treated respectfully by nice people, professional people, and compassionate people. Negative experience: I would not even send my worst enemy to this hell hole it is most unsafe and professional building I've ever seen they should lose her medical license I was admitted with blood clots in my lungs and it was nothing but trouble best places to close to Helter skelter than I've ever seen in my life my doctor never came in and seen me on Sunday finally on Sunday I left myself I pulled my own IVs out people were laughing at me because I couldn't even get a drink of water after a procedure I had done the nurses were I kept asking them for a cup of water water that's all I wanted and they would not give it to me I have called the administrator's office she they will not return my call I called the social workers up there they won't return my calls I was sent to another hospital for legacy meridian Park and I was treated just like I was at Mount Hood so obviously they keeping co-host with each other cuz I was treated like a piece of dogPooh I will never ever go back to a legacy hospital as long as I have are in my lungs I have a legacy Dr personal doctor he's great and nurses at the clinic are great but as far as Mount Hood medical center in meridian Park I wish I was rich enough to buy them cuz I would walk in and fire every one of those people and hire people that wanted to work those people act like they don't even want to be there and then they stole my water and my food so words of advice if you want to live go to a Providence Providence is great between Providence and legacy there's no comparison legacy doesn't care all they want is money they don't care about how they treat you also the doctor at Mount Hood medical center Dr page I think her name was if she comes in to treat you stop running tracks and request another doctor at meridian Park when I was seeing their Seth Mercer position not sure he was if he comes in the room to treat to stop him and get another doctor he's very unprofessional

Fantastic experience: 9/30 I went in for either my appendix or ovary.. I was treated with compassion and heard.. My nurses were amazing, my doctor was attentive and beyond words, I cried because I felt heard for the first time and someone took me serious. The ultrasound tech was gentle and caring, my CT scan tech made me laugh when I was scared and was there the whole time I was crying from fear. The registration RN was my hero, I collapsed from the pain and he took care of me.. I wish I knew all their names, everything was a blur because I couldn't move my right side from the pain.. Thank you for taking care of me, believing that there was real pain, and thank you for listening and hearing me.. and the most amazing thank you for being open honest and straight forward.. I have had other doctors in the past that weren't open and blunt, I have more respect for those that communicate and are brutally honest, top notch communications from my care team.

Negative experience: It was my daughters experience. She was in the ER last night because she started bleeding. She is also 5 months pregnant. The doctor flat out told her she was probably having a miscarraige and there was nothing they could do for her. This is withoyt doing an ultrasound which my daughter and son inlaw wanted. He refused. My daughter has gone through IUI and an Ectopic pregnancy wher she lost a tube. She has had 2 rounds of IVF which the second was successful. As a result sometimes with IVF you can get small hematomas Nothing that hurts the baby or mother. And here is this loser of a doctor telling her to go home and wait to miscarry. Well after my son in law got pissed they finally called my daughters OB who demanded they do an ultrasound. And that was all it was and this doctor told her to go home and wait to miscarry. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this hospital. They get their medical licenses from a cracker jack box.

Fantastic experience: Great customer service experience from a random first time patient! At the entrance, I encountered security for clearance. Officers(sorry if I designated incorrectly) Alicen C, Ryan S, Travis S and Olga were smiling and friendly, and happy. At Patient Access, I was warmly helped by Leyla, Cheryl, and Jeni. DJ was my friendly and gentle X-ray Dude. From the moment I stepped into the hospital I was treated with courtesy, kindness and care. All were friendly, accommodating and willing to lend a helping hand or answer a question. Random Medical personnel were also welcoming to me as I passed through the hallways. Thank you Alicen C, Ryan S, Travis S and Olga. Thank you Leyla, Cheryl, Jeni, and DJ and all Medical Personnel for your great customer service and winning attitudes.

Negative experience: Well.. An absolute nightmare. Every time I go, it's worse and I change this review. I mean first of all, their doctors are misinformed. One told me that you can't bleed from ovarian cysts, lol.. Literally factually incorrect. They treat everyone like absolute garbage and lie to them to get them out the door. Seems like they burned out years ago and it's just ALL bad. What really shocked me was how they treated a delusional homeless man who didn't really even know who he was or where he was.. He just wasnt aware and AMR brought him in because of a leg injury. He had broke his leg 2 years before and it never healed. They way they treated this man in the lobby, in front of everyone, was the most horrific thing I have ever seen. AMR, nurses and receptionists circled around him, laughing and making fun of him. He kept touching his open wound and they were laughing, calling him nasty and AMR hit him. He had burned his hair off and they joked about "when did ya get that haircut?" and talked about how disgusting he was and said they didn't want to touch him.. This is all while they are circled around him, standing over him.. Like they were openly treating him subhuman right in front of him and everyone else. They were rolling their eyes and looking in disgust at him, so angry they had to deal with him. He wasn't aggressive or causing a scene - they were just cruel. The hitting thing was especially crazy. Mental health crisis workers refer people in crisis to this hospital on holds and I cannot imagine they have any training or ability to actually treat the person in crisis, seeing how horrible they were with this patient. At one point they were discussing what they could do to make him miserable.. I think they were saying they could Narcan him despite him not needing it so that he could be in pain. "he would not like that!" as they laughed.. Once I got back in there, the nurses were laughing about a man who stuck something up his butt and it got stuck.. His wife was with him and he didn't want her to know. I know allll the details because they were making fun of him and laughing about it where everyone could hear. There is no discretion or confidentiality. I just highly recommend no one trust this place to actually treat them like a human being. It's not gonna happen and you will not get the care you deserve.

Negative experience: I drove myself here this morning between 3-4 AM because of severe pain in my right shoulder that I had been having for about 5 days. Was also pushing an oxygen tank since I have COPD and have been on oxygen for the last 4 months. I checked in at the front desk and a name tag was placed on my wrist. A few minutes later was called up by a nurse who did my vitals(BP was 156/?). BP was never retaken. Asked about my pain level which I told the nurse that it was about an 8-10. Was never asked about the oxygen tank. Went to sit back in lobby. After about an hour was called back for an X-ray, then escorted back to lobby. Was never called to get checked in to the ER Department, even though a number of people that had come in after myself were taken in, and there basically wasn't anyone else in the lobby. No one ever bothered to check on me to find out if I was okay, or if my oxygen tank was alright. After sitting in the waiting room for about 2 hours without getting called, and no one else in the lobby, I finally gave up on this place and left. If you need to go to emergency, find someplace else to go and not this place. You could be dying and they wouldn't care less about you. They're more interested in just sitting there doing nothing except collecting their pay for nothing than making sure a person is alright. Even the Sisters of Profit(Providence) would be better than this place.

Negative experience: The specialists diagnosed my stomach issue nobody could figure out for a decade, but the ER isn't great. Only a handful of the staff seem to care about the job they were hired for, and none of them work the waiting room. I go here after being sick for several hours and they're very dismissive of the pain I'm in. The triage nurse has zero empathy. This is the closest hospital but I might start looking at other options

Positive experience: I had to go to the ER & the Dr. was very rude. I wish I remembered his name. But, everyone else was great. Then I was admitted & everyone there was great as well. Then I had to go back for an EGD with Dr. Do & he & the staff were wonderful!

Negative experience: 7/25/23 1 star I woke up sick on July 16th... Thought I just had a bug but took a coid test on july 23rd and tested positive. I have asthma & COPD. I also have hip replacement on my right hip. By Wednesday, July 25th, my breathing was getting very bad, and the pain in my right hip was unbearable... I thought I had an infection. My daughter drove me to the emergency room and found me a wheelchair... a man immediately took me and wheeled me to the front lobby where they checked me in, gave me an EKG, and an IV. Then they put me out in the lobby with all of the other people wearing no masks(I HAVE COVID) to wait to get x-rays. So far everyone has been very friendly. The guy that took me back for x-rays not so much...and when I told them in the X-ray room I was (dizzy) going to pass out and needed to lay down, the other man in the room rudely told me the faster I cooperated, the faster they could get these x rays done. After the x-rays, they pushed me back out in the crowd, where I sat for the next 4 1/2 hours listening to a man vocally throw up into a bag. I was feeling very sick and uncomfortable and I wanted to go home. I ask the check- nurse to find someone to remove my IV. She waved me off. Ten minutes later I asked her again she yelled at me that someone would come. Twenty minutes later I told my daughter to come back in and get me. It is now 7:45pm.. I have been here since 3pm..... And I'm waiting for a doctor to talk to me about my xrays... he can do that on the phone. I took the IV out of my arm and put it in the garbage. I got in the wheelchair and my daughter pushed me out to the car. Also I am on oxygen at home. My daughter asked 4 different times for them to find me some oxygen and they never did. I read the medical Mychart later that evening and Jessie wrote at 8:15pm, " she ripped out her IV, and stormed out. " If no one realized I was missing for 30 minutes...how did she witness my exit? There was no ripping of the IV, and it's pretty hard to storm out while being pushed in a wheelchair. The medical chart that Jesse wrote said my oxygen level was at 94%. That was a lie, it was 93%. I have been coming to this hospital for many years and I have always been happy. I don't know what happened since then, but this hospital is a hell hole.

Fantastic experience: My experience at this ER medical facility was the best I have had (and with parents who are 95 and 101, I have had a lot!). The staff was first rate. My nurse, Ryan, was well -informed, very attentive (especially considering that they were slammed with patients), and kind spirited. Conversation with Dr. Laub was to the point, but he was a miracle worker! He made considerable effort to sort through a complicated diagnosis, ordering the necessary diagnostic procedures and even consulting three times with my specialist in Michigan. I am deeply appreciative for the excellent care they provided which allowed me to enjoy the rest of my vacation on the Pacific Northwest with my family.

Fantastic experience: Not really sure what to say about the other posts I am reading here. I looked at some of the negative reviews the other night before going to the ER. These guys treated me great! They answered all of my questions. Took care of my issue with and did it with a good attitude. The only issue I had is it was very clear they were understaffed for the time I was there. The wait time was longer than I would have hoped for. But my issue wasn't life threating so I knew that was a possibility. The staff deserves a little bit more understanding here. I am sure working in a hospital setting and being overworked would drain my attitude. Who knows maybe I was just there when they were abnormally busy. I would be a return customer if the need ever arises again.

Fantastic experience: I was admitted for chest pains and was seen immediately. The staff were apologetic for not seeing me sooner. Wow. Stellar service. Great bedside manner from the ER Doc. What a turnaround from the other hospitals ERs. Thank you Legacy for reviving faith in the ER. I'll be choosing this hospital for future concerns.

Negative experience: I can't even give a star. My son went to the ER via ambulance and found him sitting in the waiting room. No one said a word just put him off the gurney and into a wheelchair. After a bit nurse called him back. Dr B comes strutting in barley could understand a word he said. He mumbled a question which we couldn't hear then cussed at my son. He then looked into his tongue and said he is dehydrated. Then he left, nurse comes in hooks up IV and told him he can sit in the waiting room and do his IV there. ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!! HIPAA So we did, they said 15 mins the will remove and he can go home. Dr NEVER came back to see him. 45 mins later we had to go get someone to remove the IV and we asked if the Dr was going to see him this was 1:30 am by now and she said he went home at midnight. NEVER EVER have I seen this horrible care. They lost Humanity in my eyes. I have worked in the medical field for over 28 years. They need to retake patient relation class. Oh and a bill over $3,000.00. I hope I can deduct part of it since he did his IV therapy in the WAITING ROOM!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE. FYI he wasn't dehydrated something is wrong with his heart!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: I had 2 situations I had to go to the hospital for recently. First My son had chest pain and shortness of breath. The nurses and front desk staff were able to quickly assess and provide care for him immediately even though the waiting room was full. The triage nurse that night immediately ruled out tested for all the potential life threatening diagnosis. Within minutes of our arrival she had done chest X-rays vital signs and ekgs. She also helped my son relax and once she figured out there wasn’t any life threatening emergencies she quickly moved on and started working with other patients. Which showed me she was efficient and really knew how to work her job to handle the life threatening possibilities. They all seemed very experienced and knew exactly what to watch for. I don’t recall their names as we were in a crisis but if the management sees this, it was 9/30 at about 1:30 am. Your triage nurse was top notch and extremely efficient and effective but also very caring and kind! The ER physician was also super professional Dr Goldring, she respectfully took care of my son who dealt with a lot of anxiety and help ease his panic. She also ordered a holter monitor for my son which served my son so well it’s helping us identify any chronic issues! All her advice and her thought process was on point! To the RT with silver/glittery clogs, thank you for setting us up and having a bright personality it really helped us! Thank you guys! We were in and out in 1.5/2hours! Well done! Then yesterday I had an appointment for myself and all the nurses, ancillary staff, transportation, the sweet check in lady, and lastly Dr Hillman in radiology are all fantastic! Nurse Asia in short stay, thank you for everything. Thank you for admitting me and explaining what the day would be like and thank you for the IV! You did fantastic! Nurse Sarah in short stay thank you for quickly discharging me afterwards your information was valuable to me. I can’t remember the nurses name that helped with the procedure but she gets 5 stars for being a good distraction and just laughing with me. I got pain shots in my lower back area. Dr Hillman and his team were top notch and were super fun! The shots were immediately effective and I was pain free after 4 years of constant pain. I literally forgot what it’s like to walk without pain! When I was discharged I wanted to walk out to the car but of course the nurse insisted on wheeling me out even though this was the best I felt in a long time! I highly recommend this team for your pain shots! if you need them! It’s a much better option than pain meds or narcotics! Ask your doctor to refer you to Dr. Hillman!

Fantastic experience: I honestly don't know why the reviews are so bad for this place. I live in Arizona and my daughter lives there, these reviews had me scared this morning when my daughter had to go to the er. But she was only there about an hour and a half total from check in to discharge. They found the problem and gave her meds and sent in her prescriptions. She was treated well and the service was fast considering it's an emergency room. In Arizona she would have been there 7-10 hours for the same thing. So I appreciate the staff that was working er this morning.

Negative experience: Let's start at the front door which is always locked. I you have to come in the emergency entrance. That is the place you get to meet rent a cop where you get asked "so why did you come visit us?" It seems helpful but you can say I am waiting for a bus they still let you in. Then they ask after you go through the metal detectors they ask if you wear a belt seen like a good question well not they just want to see it. I could have anything tucked in my wasteban they don't check. Well it is time to grab a bite to eat because you don't know how long you will be visiting for. Well if you like meat soaked in water and nothing made to order this is the place for you. Now let's go upstairs and see what is going on there. That is a challenge of is own the doctor will tell you outright he does not have time to talk to you. Rude then you ask the nurse she will tell you one thing case worker will tell you another so it is time to demand answers so back to unanswered phone call and when you catch him he says no time for you. Well in short don't come here. Good luck.

Fantastic experience: Took a family member for care. Front end care is definitely a little on the rougher end (nurses have shorter patience, less understanding), but the back end care was all I could ask for. Doctor seemed engaged, and checked in several times during our 5 hour visit. Our nurse was TOP tier. Great with the family and extremely compassionate to the situation of the individual seeking treatment. Transparent care, communicated the situation across departments and we’re flexible to my family members needs/requests. Maybe we got lucky, but I would not hesitate to use this ER again should the need arise. Edit to add: this was the ER unit, and thank you to everyone on the floor!

Negative experience: I went there Saturday night before midnight with horrible pain in my kidney. I was passing a kidney stone. I drove myself there and when I walked in there was only one person ahead of me a mother with her child who had a cold. I was in such horrible pain I couldn’t stand I fell to the ground crying, in pain begging for help. No one helped me they just looked and starred and continued to act as if I wasn’t even there. I begged again for someone to help me finally after what seemed like forever I was helped. I was treated like a transient or a homeless person. This wasn’t the first time they treated me as such. Months prior I couldn’t walk because I had sprained the bottom of my foot. They helped me immediately but brought me to a bed in the linen closet where they stored garbage as well .I had worker’s walking in and out of there bringing trash and contaminated waste in bags to be disposed of. If it wasn’t for the pain and not being able to stand driving anymore I would’ve went somewhere else. I am appalled at the lack of empathy and respect this place shows people if I could give a negative star I would . Poor poor service. Also after they realized I wasn’t faking they treated me and gave me meds to stop the pain after a few hours the pain was controlled and they gave me some morphine thru an IV and a couple tabs of Percocet and asked if i was driving I explained I drove myself they said I was fine and sent me in my way medicated and in a state where I shouldn’t have been driving . Again poor judgment and service.

Negative experience: My husband recently went to ER and was admitted. He had the worse care ever. First Dr we saw got him mixed up with another patient. For most part the doctors were ok. The nurses barely checked on him or managed his pain and medication. One nurse at night was great. He went 8 hours without seeing a nurse. He was dehydrated and they didn't hook him up to iv bag. He couldn't eat or drink anything. Not good communication at all, no one seemed to care or figure out what was wrong with him but wanted him to stay for three days. On the second day never saw a doctor, was told the floor doctors hold their own schedule and no one is sure when one would be around. We checked him out. They just wanted our money but didn't want to treat him. We will NOT go back!

Negative experience: SERVICE REVIEW: If I could rate this hospital negative stars for their ER I would. Brought my son in on a Thursday night for them to be dismissive with his pain, we were there long enough for them to look at his throat and give him a IBprofen and tell him to follow up with his primary care. OVERALL: The ER is also extremely dirty. Used gloves and trash in the rooms. I have never seen a hospital ER SO FILTHY.

Negative experience: While waiting in the triage room on 3/15/2023 the door to the back was cracked - they were using the outlet in our room to power something outside. Total HIPAA violation already. The staff on the other side of the cracked door were really rude and loud - f words, talking poorly about people not working but getting benefits and these jobless people stealing gas from employees, even joking about a patient coming in for a laceration and accidentally telling them they had cancer. Really unprofessional.

Negative experience: The doctor in ER was very unprofessional and had a bad attitude! My husband and I went to the Emergency Room at Mount Hood Medical Center last Saturday around 3 PM. I got facial injury after falling on the icy floor during a hiking trip. Our experience at the facility was not satisfactory. After we completed the registration process, we were taken to Exam Room 30, where the doctor said using glue to treat my chin laceration. I expressed my doubts about this treatment, but the doctor proceeded anyway. Unfortunately, this led to a terrible incident where the doctor's glove glued to my chin, then he realized that stitches were the more appropriate solution. After treatment, my husband raised some questions about the treatment plan that left him feeling disappointed. When he asked why the doctor didn't use stitch the wound first, the doctor responded in an unprofessional and visibly angry manner. Even he mentioned he had 30 years of experience... Unfortunately, we were unable to seek further assistance from other medical professionals due to time constraints, as our two young children were waiting in the car for 4 hours. This entire experience has left us feeling disheartened and dissatisfied with the medical care we received. After I wrote my concern to hospital. Someone gave me a call and said: the doctor always use glue first, if not work then change to stitch… WTH!!!!!

Fantastic experience: The care teams in the Family Birth Center are top notch. I ended up having a complicated delivery but was able to fulfill most of my birth plan with regard to a natural birth and no pain meds. I felt respected & heard throughout the process and at no point was I pressured to do anything I didn’t feel comfortable with. The prenatal & delivery care I got from the Certified Nurse Midwives at Mt. Hood Women’s Health was awesome & I would recommend them to any expecting family. Julie Shipwrack was my primary midwife & she was very attentive & caring throughout prenatal & labor. Due to my labor being long & complicated I ended up with another great CNM, Haley Beeson, doing the actual delivery. She was also exceptionally caring & gentle & just awesome. The entire team of nurses that cared for me throughout my long labor & then helped care for my newborn were beyond amazing. I felt so much kindness & care emanating from each & every one of them. After we got home, we were delighted to receive an adorable card signed by all the nurses that cared for us. I want to update this review with all their names so everyone can know they are such good ones! I’ll try to remember. Also, our lactation consultant was a gift from the universe. Her name is Faith. She helped us figure out breastfeeding with a tongue tied baby. We saw a specialist for tongue tie & they spoke highly of Faith as one of the most knowledgeable advocates for tongue tied babies & breastfeeding. We have been able to exclusively breastfeed thanks to her help. The facility is nice & comfy, too. I liked sitting in the warm tub while having intense contractions. Also sitting on the big yoga ball was awesome. Also this peanut ball thing that helped me be comfy and get through contractions. Nurse Hannah kept helping me flip back & forth adjusting my legs & the peanut ball thing when I was too tired to do anything else. I’m so grateful for all the wonderful people. Thanks to all the care team, with my whole heart. If you have your baby here, you’re bound to be happy with the experience! My nurses, my heroes: Lori, Chelsea, Leah, Kelly, Leticia, Marie & Hannah

Negative experience: Worst ER experience ever - we finally walked out & went to another facility. Vomiting & diarrhea BAD, no water, no sprite or 7 up in the ONE vending machine. Waited for over three hours and still waiting so we left. And the front desk person was rude & snippy. Will NEVER go there again.

Negative experience: I went in for an issue. The doctor came in for literally 2 minutes, made an assumption of what may be the cause of my pain, smacked me with a $2,000 bill. 2 months later I’m still in pain because that doctor didn’t even bother to actually find the problem. I’ll never go back and will not let me family go either. What a joke!!!

Negative experience: I received terrible ‘treatment’ from this place, and am left with a big bill when no true service was provided. I went in in complete distress one evening, and they let me out around 6 am the next morning. Rude staff, and they didn’t have a room for me so I laid in a bed next to the nurses station. My partner is also paying off a large medical bill from this place for being in the ER for under an hour and getting an IV and omeprozale (a cheap over the counter med) and again, no help. I will never return to this facility. Even if it’s an emergency.

Negative experience: I took my wife who has dementia. She was bleeding from her rectum. When I arrived I found my wife walking the hallway lost. The ambulance drivers dropped her off and for some reason didn't see that she got taken care of. The sign in person was rude, demanding information while my confused wife was fainting and ready to vomit. I tried helping this person with information explaining that my wife was really sick and had demention. She told me she was talking to my wife and that I should keep quiet. I found her rude, uncaring, and dangerous in the emergency room.

Fantastic experience: I went in yesterday for a in and out surgery procedure. Everyone was absolutely amazing. My two nurses in my short stay room( Lindsey and Asia I believe ) were absolutely amazing!!! My surgeon Dr Norris Jacob and the whole crew in the surgery room were well I don't think I could of asked for better people to be around me during that time. My anxiety was at ease the whole time. The recovery room ladies were fantastic. I literally do not have a single complaint. You can tell everyone really cares about the patient. I don't think I can say enough how great everyone I encountered yesterday was. Thank you all so very much for how amazing you treated me yesterday!!

Fantastic experience: I was taken by ambulance to this Hospital after taking a severe fall and fracturing my pelvis in multiple places. Prior to this, I had no health care and as a result, have not been to a physician for almost 10 years and they found numerous subsequent serious problems that were life threatening if left untreated. From the emergency room to Intensive Care, to long stay recovery, I can not say enough of this dedicated staff of people who literally saved my life. Thank you, each of you, for not only providing the proper and thorough treatment, but your around the clock care for weeks of exceptional care, your tireless dedication, and your respect for EVERY single task that you did while attending to me. I say this again- I was on Death’s Doorstep without exaggeration and these HEROES tirelessly brought me back. Every person made my recovery and comfort their personal priority, no matter what their tasks were, including the immaculate cleanliness of my room. Their amazing work is thorough and their follow up, including post hospital appointments makes this a no brainer to make them my permanent Health Care Provider. If you need to choose a Provider yourself, you can’t trust your life to a greater group of Professionals.

Fantastic experience: I want to give a big shout out to the staff of this hospital. To start with all my nurses, Song, Sharon, Savana, Paul, Kelley, Evi, and Elisa everyone one of these people deserve a 10 star rating for their hard work and their love and care of their patients!!! They all went beyond the care terms and showed compassion and love to everyone. Then to all the nurses assistants, Brian, Michael, Julie, Elizabeth and Reshma they all went far and beyond anything they had to do and were so amazing!!! Then there was one housekeeper who was the most amazing person I have met in a long time, she always has a big smile on her face and I have to say without people like her this hospital would not be clean and sanitary and to do all with a smile on her face, you can tell she enjoys her job. She was so much fun to visit with while the whole time cleaning and sanitizing the room!!!! She deserves a big raise for what she does, I definitely give her a 10 star rating. Then there is the dialysis team, Barbara, Lupe and Page they are all amazing as well. Then of course everyone of my doctors and there is quite a few, there is the renal doctors, and the pulmonary doctors, the cardiologist team, and of course the best day to day doctors who work very long hours and deal with a heavy load of patients throughout there day!!! I wish more people would give credit to these wonderful people as they certainly deserve it!!! I thank them all from the bottom of my heart for their wonderful care. Thank You Judy Morris

Negative experience: I have a severe neck and spinal cord injury. I told triage this when I came in and showed the MRI report. My whole left side was in pain and I was nauseous. First the triage nurse had no clue what my report was saying and then put the BP cuff on my bad arm!!! I wanted to scream! Then I am sitting there for 2.5 hours and asked for a pillow or a blanket to roll up under my arm. I was asked several questions before she would give me one! I left I rather suffer at home! I didn’t want pain meds just wanted to see if I aggravated my injuries
