Fantastic experience: I have seen Davina twice over the past year. Both of my office visits were great. She is very attentive, very smart, very informative, very thorough, and best of all very nice! I left both visits very happy with how everything went. I left confident that there was a plan in place. I knew what was required of me on my end. I left feeling that someone truly cares about me and my health issue... I wasn't just a number on a doctor's endless patient list. I wasn't just a billing address queued up for printing and mailing. Davina is a breath of fresh air! I'm extremely happy to have her care for me. Highly recommended!!!

Fantastic experience: My Practioner was Miss. Annie. She's always straight to the point, don't waste times. Gets and gives the answers you need all within 30 mins. No dragged out sugar coated visit. That's what I enjoyed mostly, her M.A. was very thoughtful and caring absolutely beautiful. Alontay the M.A. will also male sure your comfortable, just don't touch her hair.

Just when I was ready to give up due to the state of our healthcare system, my faith in medicine was restored by Tidewater Orthopedics! I cannot say enough about the attentiveness and care by Dr Payne and the entire medical staff from taking my history to scheduling tests. They are efficient, caring, and are stalwart advocates for restored health. Should you find frustration and resistance in other practices such as being lackadaisical, short staffed, difficult to communicate with, and not proactive in helping to make a solid plan for restoration of health, do yourself a favor and call Tidewater Ortho. They are located in Hampton, Williamsburg, and Suffolk. You will meet helpful and genuinely courteous people upon check in and will not wait forever in the waiting room. When evaluated, you are immediately put at ease by everyone in the entire care team. From day one, each department is courteous, is professional, is thorough, and respectful. These professionals are among the elite in medicine and are proactive in your care. Tidewater Orthopedics is outstanding!

Fantastic experience: Amanda makes you feel very comfortable, and she is very personable. She cannot do anything when it comes to the amount of gel she injects, but she tries to put you at ease! Amanda remembers her patients and you are not just another number! She answers any questions you may have, even if is the 1st or 5th time she has given you an injection! I would highly recommend Amanda, but remember, everyone is different when it comes to getting any type of injection!

Fantastic experience: Tidewater Orthopedics is great. Dr. Higgins has done both my hips. Dr. Payne did both my husband's shoulders, and he's doing my rotator cuff repair in a few weeks. Just wish I didn't have to wait so long for surgery.

Fantastic experience: Happy with my experience at Tidewater Ortho all around. I never had a long wait in the office. Same surgery on both shoulders - right side here, and my left side was done by another practice. I was using my right arm with no PT within a day or so, while my left side took weeks. I highly recommend them.

Went from initial visit where he pretty much told me what was wrong, MRI appt, MRI consult where we confirmed he knows what he's talking about and decided on a plan, pre Op consult, operation(easy!), post Op Appt and I'm good to go! Fantastic experience: Dr. Eric Vess performed my ACDF surgery in June. I had a lot of anxiety going into surgery, and after surgery I was super-sensitive about anything I perceived as not moving forward in recuperation. When I called the office and left my questions/concerns on the nurse triage line, Dr. Vess himself would call me before the end of the day. That attention alone contributed significantly to my recovery, because with my worries lifted, I was able to focus on healing.

Fantastic experience: Dr Ben G always makes me feel comfortable. He remembers who I am when he walks into the patient rooms, he warmly greets me and said hello to any support people I may have with me. He explains everything clearly and leaves time to patiently answer any and all questions I have. I never feel as if I’m being spoken down to, wasting his time or being a burden. Fantastic experience: My experience with Delaney R Chester was excellent. When meeting her she was very kind, pleasant, big smile, and welcoming. The visit was professional and to the point. She wasted no time and made me feel very comfortable. I was diagnosed quickly, courses of action explained and a treatment selected. She made me feel part of the process.

Fantastic experience: I arrived a little early was taken back to an exam room, wait time was short, and the assessment process was very thorough and then I really appreciated PA Gensler sitting down and listening to my input and concerns. Many people in the healthcare community are rushing and I definitely didn’t feel rushed. Overall my experience with Tidewater Orthopedic Specialist has been very positive!!!!

Negative experience: Until this week I'd have given this place 5 stars. I'd never had an issue getting an appointment when needed and especially in emergency situations, until now. Called looking to get an appointment because of a torn tendon that requires pretty quick action to fix (also have paperwork from another doctor confirming this diagnosis to which I was told wasn't good enough) and was told without insurance I'd have to see an assistant and couldn't be seen until months from now. Not only does this pretty much eliminate any hope I have of regaining full mobility in my hand, but with all the medical knowledge in this building they'd still be alright with booking me an appointment for months from now and take my money knowing that it would be far too late to fix a broken tendon.

Negative experience: Great doctors and staff but terrible billing. Added charges from 3 years ago in 2021 to current billing and placed the burden of proof on to us.

Fantastic experience: Ben is the greatest P.A. and a great human being!!! He listens extremely well. He's got a great sense of humor and is patient. His medical knowledge of how both of my hip surgeries went was obvious by the things he told me. He has always been ready and willing to answer any question that I asked him, even if I had alot of questions. I had a few concerns about my healing process and if I was normal or something weird was happening and Ben assured me that it was not uncommon. He went on to explain in detail what was going on in a way that I could understand. I won't see him for 4 years! I'm gonna miss him! Thank you Ben!

Fantastic experience: My first visit to the office for issues with my shoulders. There was no wait for registration. I was called within 2 or 3 minutes of waiting. I was terrified because my PCP mentioned that cortisone treatment for my shoulders could be an option. Upon meeting PA Kevin I was at ease. His professionalism was top notch but it was his confidence that made me more at ease after being examined and told I would be getting cortisone shots in both shoulders!!!! I’ve had them in the past and they were painful. PA Kevin was done with both shoulders in less than 5 mins!!! It was painless and am still Bragging about my experience and the results. I feel great. Best experience ever!!!! Thanks to PA sake in and the staff. Highly recommended. 5 Star!!!

Negative experience: All they do is schedule appointments so they can set more appointments and charge you and your insurance every time . They try to pass off nurses as Dr.s . Not a good business but we are stuck because of Sentara's monopoly on local health care .

Positive experience: I'd never heard of this facility until my PCP sent in a referral request for me. The line was kind of long when I got inside but the receptionists were pretty fast getting everyone checked in. The nurse and the X-ray technicians were professional and kind. I was seen by Ben Gensler PA who asked the necessary questions concerning my situation and explained the options that I could take, but also let me know what he felt was the best option and explained why it would be best for me in the long run.

Fantastic experience: My experience at Tidewater Orthopaedics went very well. Wait time was short. Front office staff was very pleasant and helpful. PA Gensler had a very pleasant disposition and came across very professional, empathetic as well as knowledgeable. I was in agreement with his plan of action and will be following up.

Fantastic experience: I arrived to my postop follow up. I was taken back almost immediately where the staff removed my temporary splint and They removed my sutures. I was taken for an x-ray for views of the repair to My hand. I was then met by Delaney Chester who showed me the X-rays. She discussed my repair and follow-up care. She asked if I had any questions. She was very thorough and helpful. I then was taken to PT where I was fitted with a smaller protective brace, shown exercises, and released. Great visit with very professional staff.
