Fantastic experience: I had a loved one at this Mt Sinai location for just over 1 year. 4N, your staff is awesome! Thank you all, nurses, aides, therapists, etc...for all you did, your hard work did not go un-noticed. We were very pleased with the care our loved one got over this past year. Over time you made us feel like a family. God Bless and thank you.

Negative experience: Andrina, the receptionist is a rude and miserable woman. This office needs to find a more polite and respectful receptionist. This miserable woman is so unpleasant .. she has absolutely no respect or interpersonal skills. I will be seeking rehab services for my elderly mother somewhere else. I just cannot deal with her any longer.

Positive experience: I highly recommend this place for physical therapy. I suffered a stroke last year,my stay at the hospital was for 3 months. I could not walk since being in bed for that time. My first week at Mt Sinai I using a walker....little by little I was able to walk again....the staff were very helpful.

Negative experience: I had a family member brought here from St Francis. He stayed a total of 2 1/2 weeks. There were a small number of caring professionals but unfortunately, they were in the minority. The doctor never completed my family leave paperwork after multiple reminders. Further, we asked this same doctor to complete other paperwork at which point he told us it was unnecessary. He was incorrect but delayed just enough for discharge. Apparently, after discharge, he felt he no longer needed to communicate or follow through on the needed paperwork. No coordinated activities for patients. Patients basically go stir crazy after sitting for days with no opportunity for engaging in anything but TV. Discharge was a joke. Had to double check them on all aspects such as prescriptions which had not been called into pharmacy. Was told on the phone all needed paperwork would come down with patient. NOTHING of importance. Actually, just a sheet listing personal possessions and an appointment at an outside facility for the following week. It was shocking how little many of these people know about patient care, communication or follow-thru. We had to speak to the folks on the floor from the main desk in the lobby at discharge. Passersby listening to conversation....some actually shaking their heads in amazement. It appears that even the people who work there know this place is sub-standard. I hate to paint this place with a broad brush because as I said, there were a very few folks who were caring and tried their best. Unfortunately, they are in the very small minority. I'm actually shocked that St Francis continues to associate itself with this facility. I strongly recommend you seek other arrangements before you consider Mt Sinai in Hartford. Thx.

Positive experience: Spent 2½ months here in 83 with 30% of my body burned from an auto accident, then came in for debreeding and pt for 6 weeks and then checked back in for skin grafts. Little more than 4 months of hell, but back in 83 this was the best place in Ct to be. It's totally different now, cadaver skin, lab grown skin, I wouldn't have gone so long with the burns left open, would've had cadaver skin applied as soon as possible and it would not have taken 4 months.

Negative experience: If you have consciousness, refuse to go here at all cost. Just say no, you'd rather go anywhere but here. Trust me, hard pass.

Fantastic experience: I am a healthcare professional who was severely injured in a skiing accident and I just was dismissed after two weeks at Mount Sinai rehabilitation hospital. The care I received was superb. All of the OT‘s, PT’s, MD’s and other ancillary medical personnel including the nurses and the CNA‘s provided a very high level of courteous and professional care. My standards are very high for cleanliness, professionalism and customer service and all of the personnel at Mount Sinai Rehab Hospital net those standards. We are very lucky to have such a high-quality institution in our midst. I can’t recommend this facility too highly and I know that if you bring your love ones here or are you yourself are unfortunate enough to require a rehabilitation services that you will have an excellent experience here. Fantastic experience: I am super pleased with my stay at this facility. I came here after Neuro/ Ortho surgery unable to stand or walk unassisted. I am now able to move about freely utilizing appropriate precautionary equipment and measures, all thanks to the wonderful PT and OT team. I have learned so much being here and I am getting ready for discharge in the next couple of days, I am so appreciative because I able to be independent again. I still have a long road ahead but I am confident I will succeed. I would also like to thank the wonderful nursing staff and the aides they are so friendly and helpful. The behind the scenes case manager was wonderful too! Thank you all !

Positive experience: Place has good treatment and care for loved ones, however they are extremely misleading about their visitor protocols during covid - they only allow whoever visits first to visit during the duration of their admission, despite what it says on the website, and there is no way to change it. I was told by the nurse that they hand a flyer to each visitor informing them of this when a visitor comes, which seems like a moot point if someone has already traveled to get there. It doesn't matter if you've been vaccinated. This policy is not the same as on their website stating they can have one visitor per day.

Negative experience: Most of the staff is nice here aside unfort from the bald guy working the desk in the 6 th floor! I dropped a friend off, and was surprised at such an un friendly welcome and attitude! You would hope in a place of need like this, hospitality and friendliness would be more abundant! May be time to search for new help or properly manage and train the current staff for a more friendly health related atmosphere... nothing bad say about the detox aside from that tho everyone else was very helpful and friendly..

Negative experience: Sadly they do not care enough about thier patients. If your family member or friend can not speak for themselves do not have them go here. The staff do not practice safety as well as simple cleaning practices. I will not stop warning ppl about this place. They took the call button away from my mom, they did not clean her correctly and she ending up with severe infections that risked her life. If your going to choose a place choose new Britain special care they are amazing.

Fantastic experience: My husband was a patient here for almost 3 weeks after knee replacement surgery complicated by a stroke suffered in 2018. We were extremely impressed with the professionalism of the staff - PT, OT, speech therapists, nurses, aides, case manager, PA’s, and doctors. This is a wonderful facility that endeavors to get patients to independence as soon as possible.

Negative experience: My husband was transferred to this rehab about 2 weeks ago. He has suffered severe injuries due to motorcycle accident. By far the worst decision i ever made. My marriage was fine until he started to speak to psychologist/ therapist. All of the sudden my husband tells me he wants a divorce, needs space away from me and doesn't want to see me any more. This same therapist tells him that im crazy, need professional help and i need to be on medications. Who gives you the right to diagnose people? What kind of hospital is this? If someone doesn’t get back to me about this problem ASAP i will get my lawyer involved. This place is a joke. Please do not bring your spouses here unless you plan on getting a divorce next. These people do not improve peoples life—THEY RUIN THEM.

Negative experience: Here's the thing... this is not run by pros. They take care of people like rookies. Back in December, a relative went here after being discharged from St. Mary's Hospital, which ALWAYS makes bad choices. They made another one. This person stayed here for 2 weeks, and about a week in, someone caught the flu. The people did nothing to help the situation and went on like nothing happened. My relative caught the flu in early January. After they discharged him to another hospital, Mount Sinai STILL did nothing to stop the illness from spreading. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

Negative experience: Nadia was who answered the phone when I called to try and get admiteadfor detox she was rude and snappy and accusational . Then this rude sorry excuse for a nurse hung up on me a man with severe anxiety in a panic attack. Then I called back asked for manager. Got another rude woman who also hung up. Worst help ever from a place full if unorooffessional *********** words I won't even type. Told to call back during the day to talk to a supervisor. And hung up on again. Worst place ever. Rude horrible people don't go if you need help or want to be treated with respect

Negative experience: Seeking help, was hung up on three times by Nadia and a second woman who wouldn’t even give her name. Nadia misunderstood sentence structure from a human being going through alcohol detox and then accused of lying and “changing the story”. Less than helpful. Wanna get clean? Don’t even bother with these incompetent, rude, uncaring subhumans. Will be filing a formal complaint.

Negative experience: One star only because I have to to write a review nurses are retarded...Dr's don't know what the he'll they are doing...where did any of them get their degree a cracker jack box? The Muslim Dr who works on the 8th floor needs to stick her nose in her own business and not anyone else's. What I do with my child is my business not yours. Do stop talking smack to your patients about thier families unless you want a lawsuit because i dont mind giving you one hope you have a good lawyer because messing with the mind of a mentally ill person will cause you your job I will make sure of it.

Negative experience: My Husband was going here for Therapy. At time it was very little Black minorities to none working there besides the janitors and man parking vehicles. Very unsatisfied witb service my husband had lack of privacy during therapy disclosing personal information such as social security number when husband asked for privacy Therapist became Irate with anger. Therapist was very sarcastic and argumentative when was going. Front desk mis scheduled appointments where appointments verbalize was not placed in the system. I would not recomend to come for therapy at this instulation. Therapist made inaccurate statement in my husbands record file stating he is a daily smoker.
