Fantastic experience: The speech therapist came in and she was very sweet I also met with her nurse and her nurse was very knowledgeable and I met the girls that were helping my mother with with her physical therapy! And everyone was very nice it was very clean! I was very happy to see that my mother was in a facility such as this thank you

Fantastic experience: Earlier this year, my sister was admitted to West Hartford Health and Rehab Center, where she stayed for two months. She was so well taken care of! I would periodically ask her if she was being mistreated (which, in some facilities, is a sad reality), and she always said, "No, they treat me good." I taught her to never be afraid to tell me the truth. At the end of two months, on the discharge day, my sister received a wonderful send-off. One of her care told my sister that she couldn't leave; that she had to stay at the facility with her. The staff enjoyed my sister, and my sister enjoyed my sister! Today, my sister was admitted to respite care at West Hartford Health and Rehab Center while I went away for the weekend. The reception she received when she arrived was awesome! I'm grateful that my sister is comfortable at the facility and all the more grateful that West Hartford Health and Rehab created such an environment for her to feel that way. I can go away, knowing that my sister is well cared for, and so grateful that I can bring my sister home with me. Ain't God good? Thank you to all the staff at West Hartford Health and Rehab Center! Well done!

Fantastic experience: All staff is wonderful, warm and caring. The administration are all so welcoming and caring and the rehab staff is great

Negative experience: I must say the ratings you guys are given are inaccurate. Everything else was so so but the nursing staff lacks credibility. Most times the button got pushed for the nurse they never showed. The rooms are very small too. I suggest you look at the place before sending your loved ones there.

Positive experience: I can say my dad is very happy with the care he gets from Tanya the aide and the nurse Judy and DeeDee and there is one other mislead I don’t remember her name but, I warms my heart to see my dad happy and it’s because of these 3 individuals. Fantastic experience: The staff at West Hartford Health & Rehabilitation Center as a team are the best in delivering care. They are gentle and compassionate. I have never seen/known any facility that collectively aspire to treat patients like family the way they do at West Hartford Health & Rehabilitation Center. They have earned my highest accolades for taking excellent care of my uncle, Fr. Elias.

Fantastic experience: My mother-in-law recently recovered for 2 weeks at West Hartford Health & Rehabilitation Center following a fall. It was the only one of the three short-term rehabilitation facilities to which she has been admitted in the past year that I would want her to return to, if necessary (despite the other two also being highly rated by Medicare and other ratings agencies). The staff at West Hartford Health & Rehabilitation Center was uniformly friendly, compassionate, calm, patient and attentive, even on the overnight shift. My mother-in-law's nurse was always available to discuss her care and we received intermittent updates via telephone from the nurse practitioner, both of whom consistently addressed (and resolved) any concern that we might have had without delay. The rehabilitation and medical care plans were personalized and revised as needed, based on her progress. Medications and their doses were modified appropriately during her stay. My mother-in-law even liked the food! I would recommend West Hartford Health & Rehabilitation Center without reservation to anyone who needs short-term rehabilitation in the Greater Hartford area.

Negative experience: For all patients who are going to this rehabilitation facility, I very strongly recommend that they not go to this place. The medical staff is unprofessional and doesn’t care about the patients. You need to ask several times to get any simple help. You push the button and wait for nursing aid or nurse for The only PT people work great and really try to make a difference in patient’s life. The food there is terrible.

Negative experience: The worst facility in CT. Filthy. Sub-standard care. My best friend's mother DIED there. She was neglected, covered in bed sores. Among other things. DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONES THERE! This place should be shut down for good.

Fantastic experience: Facility appears clean and bright. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. My aunt seems happy and well cared for. Many of the staff know her name and she smiles when they talk to her. Holiday dinners are in a nicely decorated dining room. The piano entertainment is fun and the dinners are good. And always, please question your relative if they are verbal. Keep a sharp eye. Even the most beautiful facility is only as good as it's staff. Question if there is unhappiness. Make sure the staff takes the time to FEED those that need assistance. I've seen people being fed only a few spoons and on to the next person. Check for cleanliness and bedsores. Last thing, make unexpected visits.

Fantastic experience: I have to say that I'm very pleased with this facility. I pop in a different times unexpectedly and every time I see the same thing. What do you ask a caring and patient staff. A nice clean facility. And everyone well taken care of. Which I do have to say it is unusual but I'm grateful that my loved one is for sure enough to be in a fantastic place like this. It takes a special kind of person to be a caregiver and work in this profession. So I do appreciate everyone here. So I wanted to say thank you I appreciate all the hard work every single one of you put in took care for our loved ones when in need.

Negative experience: This is the worst place for the elderly all they do there is abuse the elderly people and act like they didn’t do anything nor contact the family.

Fantastic experience: My 90 year's young mother had mix feelings about being admitted to a rehabilitation center. After spending a fews days she can’t stop telling me how pleased she is with the overall experience. The staff personal are very professional and very helpful. She is so happy!!!

Fantastic experience: Yesterday, I visit the facility, and was met with top-notch customer service. After signing in, all Covid safety measures were exercised. Had a scheduled meeting with a manager, and the staff welcomed me, as one of theirs. Very impressed with the friendly encounter.

Positive experience: This is a review from first meeting with the Director of Admissions. The Director took time to explain all facets of the facility. It is a homey environment and everyone was casually friendly. No airs here. Not shiny and new, but updated and clean. Will provide more after my husband is admitted.

Fantastic experience: When my mom needed a place for rehabilitation, after being admitted to the Hospital for about a week, my first and only choice was West Hartford Health & Rehabilitation Center. Being the Director of Nursing for this facility, I had complete confidence in the excellent care that would be provided. In this situation, I was not a nurse caring for a resident. I was the daughter of a resident who had some life changing events which led her to hospitalization and then to short term rehab. Every department has offered exemplary service and gone above and beyond, like they do for every resident, and my mom is on her way to reaching her optimal level of functioning. Thank you to my peers for all you do each and every day.

Negative experience: I found the care and rehabilitation my ihusband received was negligible. They said it was because of Covid 19 but when we switched to a different rehabilitation center he received physical therapy as well as occupational therapy every day at least once a day for each and began his road to recovery. There was only one nurse that was attentive and she was filling in for somebody who had Covid. For example when they sent him to the hospital with covid they called me but said he was sent earlier but I forgot to call you. I understand they are busy but at the very least don't say that.There were a few aids that were very good. And the they did send a psychologist and that was helpful. We were later told that the lack of physical therapy at this center set his recovery back at least a month. And as a side note they lost many of his personal items.

Positive experience: I I heard about the West Hartford health and rehabilitation center from Hartford Hospital social workers. So far with my mother being here the staff is really wonderful very kind, considerate compassionate, and very engaging. My family and I we are happy that my mother is in good care she’s doing physical therapy right now as I’m speaking to you and it’s gonna take her a little bit to get it together, but we are confident that God has the right place and staff to assist us. PS the food does taste good!

Negative experience: I am truly astounded by the indifference of staff and the use of elderly techs who can barely walk and resent requests for basics like water. No monitoring of vitals on a timely basis when I showed signs of Covid. Lost my clothing in laundry. Some positives were awesome night nurse , Sister, PT and OT. Male nurse Prince strapped on inhaler mask and told me to figure out h ow to use it. Stay away

Negative experience: My very first night was a nightmare. I wasn't able to sleep because the television in one of the rooms was so loud. It turns out, the aide on duty was watching tv with the sound up loud. It was 1 a.m. That's not the worse thing that happened. I had left a partially opened 2 pack of Graham crackers open on my nightstand because I had asked for milk to drink with them earlier and I was given spoiled, lumpy milk, so the crackers didn't get eaten. When I turned the on at 1 a.m. I looked on the the nightstand and screamed! I don't think I could be heard over the aide's television, so I grabbed the buzzer. I told her what had happened. There was a ROACH on the nightstand after the crackers! She said she couldn't do anything about it,didn't have anything to do with her! I handed her the crackers and asked her to throw them away, so she threw them in the trash basket IN THE ROOM. I asked her to remove the trashbag from the room which she did. She then proceeded to check my vitals, bring me a fresh pitcher of water and suggested I sleep with the light on! I was sitting up - with the lights on - when a nurse looked in on me. I explained what happened and she was kind enough to put me in another room. I know things happen on occasion, but these are just 2 of the things that happened since I arrived and it's very frustrating. I hope things improve and I have something more positive to say in the future.

Fantastic experience: Well this is the best place i work and am sorry that some of you guys have bad experience but i sure know if u had address an situation our team is good at get things fix we not perfect we human my co workers and i work hard to take care of our residents sorry we cant please everybody to the rest of u who appreciate the care we give we appreciate u too come back anytime communication is the key some of u come in walk pass the staff and dont say a word like we dont exist

Negative experience: I would never recomend this place, my first night arriving there from the hospital was very frustrating. The nurse in charge was very unprofessional she order my husband to leave the permises with a disrespectful way, without letting us explain why he was there. Then they didnt have none of my medications. I arrived there with severe pain and all I got was some 200mg motrin. No AC on the room with a temperature of 99°outside. I requested a fan an Didnt get one until my daughter had to call n reguested one. This place isn't a place for any love one sorry.

Positive experience: Most of the staff seem unhappy and are not friendly, they are serious and do not smile at all.

Negative experience: Not a place I'd recommend for long term care. The staff are always huddled together talking amongst each other, as appose to caring for the residents, sitting down or on their cell phones while working on the floor. As well I witnessed, the residents asking for assistants, and frequently being ignored for very lengthy periods of times. I've spoken to other families members who were disappointed with the staff as well. From the onset they present the facility as the Four Seasons. However, you shortly discover you've placed your loved one, at a Motel 8. Our family has moved our love one elsewhere. Search elsewhere, you've been forewarned.
