Life House Recovery Homes: Reviews
Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a safe and comfortable SLE Life House is for you. I been a resident at life house for the past year. I am so grateful for Ray the owner and my house manager Randy. The men in my house saved my life. This program helped me focus on my recovery. I made a lot of new meaningful relationships here. I love you all for helping make my recovery possible. I will always continue to be of service wherever I can. Sincerely Eric Crouch
Fantastic experience: Lifehouse is a great place for someone who has hit rock bottom and needs help. It changed my llife for the better and I seen many others people lives change for the better. I recommends this place for anyone who wants to better their lives.
Fantastic experience: Love this place
Negative experience: 15 people in unkempt rooms in an unkempt house. Management will not hear you out and when they do it’s extremely unreasonable. Do not go here. If you have ANY issues with anyone it’s met with immediate aggression. Best of luck
Negative experience: I stayed here for 20 days, having had a mental breakdown and really needing some help. No one here cares. This is a flop house for bottom feeders. This place was full of people trying to avoid incarceration, not people in recovery looking to build a tribe of people who want to be better, to get into recovery. This country is full of people looking to exploit other people's suffering and pain. Here is a good example.
Negative experience: The biggest saddest joke of a recovery umm place. People do not leave from here for a better place, they're kicked out behind the drama resulting from the next to nothing management. Filthy, loud, disruptive, negative, just don't go here unless you absolutely have to.
Luke you attacked other clients that dared to try to move in to the back house of our shared sober living home. You used racist and homophobic lanquage and tried try to fight management for asking you to move into the main house so there would be less conflict. You constantly assassinated the characters of other house members. We tried working with an move you into the main part of the house or a different location an that's when you decided to move. We never kicked you out please take responsibility for your own actions. We agree were not perfect an we deal with numerous people doing the best we can. We are here to help people not hurt them! We are here to help clients that want to help themselves. We don't condone racism homophobic behavior or violence or threats of violence. Luke we wish you the very best take care of yourself
Fantastic experience: I am a client at Lifehouse recovery homes. it's hard to believe all of the opportunities I have had at Lifehouse. Ray Prieto the program director has helped me and countless others not only a wonderful place to stay he has also found jobs for us. It's like living in a fraternity with all of us heading toward the same goal, a sober life. I stay in a beautiful home in a residential neighborhood, right by BART and other public transportation. I highly recommend life house and all that it offers.
Negative experience: Kicked me out because I gave a truly honest Google review lol a joke
Life House Recovery Homes is a sober living for all people in all stages of their recovery. Everyone works through their Recovery in their own way. If we focus more on ourselves and our own recovery and moving forward, we have no time to worry about what other people are doing. If you have any more question comments or concerns please call our office at 510-999-7901.
Negative experience: I lived in one of their homes for 1 year. I would recommend to check it out in person beforehand, as I found out their website is a bit misleading. They state its a shared room. This is most likely not going to be a shared room with just one other person. in fact, there are up to 8 people to a room in some houses. I was lucky and got a shared room with only one other person, but its the only room in the house and its still a bunk bed setup. Altogether there are 18 people crammed into a tiny, approx. 1200-1400sq ft., house with only 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Upon moving out this month, I found out the hard way that if you move out before the month is up you do NOT get a refund on the remaining days. Even though I gave notice that I was moving before that months rent was due, the "operations manager" Ray, refused to work with me on this and was quick to point out that the intake form states there are no refunds on client fees. I would also recommend asking for a copy of the intake forms that you sign upon move-in, as it is customary for them to not provide you with a copy. This really confirmed to me that the bottom line is money with Life House, and not helping and supporting the clients transition back into the community. Which is disappointing being that website claims they are a nonprofit organization that provides a compassionate, supportive environment to live. It also goes on to state that the owner opened Life House because of his passion to help others that are suffering from addiction with nowhere to go, which may have been the case years ago, but sure does not seem to be the case now. On a positive note, I found that most of the residents were nice and welcomed me into the house. They too seemed to share the same concerns and frustrations with Life House though. Hopefully, the owner reads this and decides to get involved in the day to day operations of Life House and makes some much needed changes to better accommodate and support current and future residents.
