Negative experience: Deceptive billing and poor communication. EDIT 10/29: I am now 5 months after my last visit, and still receiving bills. I have never worked with a medical provider that has been this incompetent at billing. I cannot conceive how this place stays in business. Original Review: As far as I am aware as a non-expert, the therapy I got here was good. Everyone was friendly. And it's possible that if you are doing standard insurance payment for your treatments, you'll be fine. But if you are self-paying or using a high deductible medical insurance plan, be prepared for problems. I was quoted a price (in writing and in person) for treatments that was less than a third what I was eventually charged. I have paid in person, then been contacted to correct payment three (EDIT: now four) additional times electronically. I am STILL receiving bills over 4 (EDIT, now five) months after my last treatments; at this stage I have no faith that I won't be receiving random bill collections from this place forever. Every communication I've had (again, in writing and in person) with anyone in the office has given me incorrect information about my billing and remaining deductible (for example, I've been told I've got a 6k deductible, when I have a 3.2k one. I've also been told I owed the out-of-network price, when I am eligible for in-network discount). I've been told twice that I'm at a zero balance for my treatment, only to be charged additional HUNDREDS of dollars. When I've pushed back on any of this or called for clarification or correction, I've been told every time, "we'll speak to the owner," and received...no follow up. I have been told multiple times that the only recourse is to call the billing department myself. I'm profoundly disappointed, and frankly, angry at the lack of responsibility taken by this clinic and the lack of transparency in billing/process. I can't tell if the problem is incompetence or purposeful deception, but either way, it's put me off ever returning, and off physical therapy in general. The quality of the therapy doesn't make up for how unprepared the clinic is for any atypical billing scheme.

Negative experience: I will start by saying David and the whole team at Advanced Physical Therapy and Ergonomics are awesome when it comes to physical therapy. However, I have a major issue with their billing practices and being over charged. Be warned that just because your insurance is accepted, you will get billed for services using CPT codes that most insurances do not accept. This means you will end up paying a lot more out of pocket AFTER your co-pays, and you will not even know the amount until you have already gotten your services. I believe the reason this is done is because David and team are unhappy with the negotiated rates with insurance companies, so this is a way to make up the difference. I ended up paying over $300 beyond my insurance co-pays due to this - if this fee was disclosed prior to services, I wouldn't have minded. It is not that difficult to check with insurance companies ahead of time on what will be covered or not, and how much the patient will have to pay. I understand the need for being compensated a fair amount, but I find this practice shady and egregious

Fantastic experience: My husband had full knee replacement and underwent physical therapy in this clinic. And now my turn - am undergoing physical therapy here as well. The team is amazing from the big boss Dave to the office managers Lisa and Jennifer and to every single therapist that works here - all 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I highly recommend this clinic to everyone !! The treatment, care and attention to detail on my issue as well as my husband’s is undeniably towards wellness, recovery and normalcy. Well Equipped with all kinds of work out machines, gadgets etc. as well. The atmosphere is familial, friendly and the therapists care, understand, listen to our pain/issues and manage the therapy accordingly. Our Big Thanks to this team !

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Advance Physical Therapy & Ergonomics. I received treatment from three of the physical therapist and all were excellent. I would have thought seeing three different people would be a disadvantage but I found it to be very beneficial.

Negative experience: One of the worst management ever I experienced. Stay away from this place. They don’t care for the patients. They are just worried about the money.

Fantastic experience: The therapists are very hands on and use various modern modalities to address my injuries. They also have given me stretching and strengthening protocols to expedite my recovery. Really appreciative of the effort they put in

Fantastic experience: Advance Physical Therapy is a wonderful PT organization. I had my fair share of injuries and I know what to look for in my rehab. The bests PT will get you on a program immediately to minimize scar tissue from developing and will work you hard to get your muscles and joints to work correctly as you are healing. Many interns have said this was the best organization to do rehab or to maintain a certain level of health if you have serious ongoing injury that you need to address. They commented that Dave and Calvin will test them on their training and demonstrate the appropriate rehab for each injury.

Negative experience: Could not reach anyone by phone at first. They prefer texting. I do not. I shared this with them. After a very long time until my first appointment. They sent a text to remind me. Day of they called 50 minutes after tje appointment passed. I asked why they did not call at 4:15 she said "Yah, we are really busy and will charge you for a missed appointment" and then tried to reschedule me. I said no and that I will not be using their services. Another down side is while I have insurance they made me make a 50 dolloar deposit which is 35 dollars over my copay. This means it would take me a lityle over three visits to get my money even. That is not cool and I wish I did not agree to this.

Fantastic experience: This is the second time in six years that I have used Dave Turner and his amazing group to work on my feet. He has changed my life! Enduring pain for months without hope of resuming regular activities feels catastrophic. He is amazing at what he does by embracing the newest techniques and listening to his patients. Dave is truly invested in your total heath and not only what your prescription specifies. He believes in repairing or changing the root cause of the problem. I am inspired after every appointment to improve my overall health. My mind and body feel refreshed, his energy is contagious. The entire staff at Advanced Physical Therapy is such a pleasure to work with. The office staff are personable and efficient. They communicate via text and email and effectively confirm appointments, reminders and any other relevant information. In addition, his amazing staff of PT professionals share Dave's passion for healing and good health. I am very particular and do not like to waste time. The PT’s are always punctual and begin at the scheduled time. The facility is clean and well maintained. Your time is absolutely never wasted! I highly recommend Advanced Physical Therapy and Ergonomics.

Fantastic experience: David Turner and his incredible staff - Calvin, Luke, Francine, Smita, Liza and Jennifer - are an outstanding resource for the Tri-Valley area...and beyond. I have used many other capable physical therapists in the area, but none come even remotely close to providing the level of thoughtful and individualized diagnosis, treatment, coaching, and monitoring at this team does! Their first, second and third priorities are simply to IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR THEIR PATIENTS. In the clinic, they use a hands-on approach to get to the root of the patient's issues, along with closely-monitored exercises and movements to improve mobility, strength and comfort. Moreover, they provide detailed coaching and guidance to help the patient understand and improve their physical issues between visits through the use of at-home tools and exercises. Over the past 15+ years, Dave and his team have addressed and resolved my acute and chronic injuries, as well as those of family members and many friends and colleagues. Examples: Following surgery to correct chronic degeneration of a foot joint (experienced over 30 years), Dave was able to diagnose and correct the many tight or locked areas in my hips, lower back and legs, allowing me to resume long-distance, pain-free running. Incapacitated from a back injury, Dave's careful, hands-on approach increased my core strength, flexibility and stamina over the course of several months, allowing me to resume running, yard-work, etc. So, if you want to improve your mobility, strength, comfort and quality of life, go see Dave. If you're tired of having a physical therapist simply look you over and then hand you a list of exercises to do at home and wish you luck, go see Dave.

Fantastic experience: Dave and his team, Calvin and Luke, are incredible. They are hands on, listen carefully, communicate well and work to get their patients back to an active, healthy lifestyle. They have given me the tools necessary to maintain my strength and flexibility. Dave’s hands on approach is different than other physical therapists I have seen in the past. Over the past several years, I have seen Dave and his team for my foot, back and knee with great results. As a runner, I value Dave, Calvin and Luke’s knowledge and experience to keep me on the road and trails. I don’t consider any other physical therapy office. I highly recommend them when friends and family are in need of PT.

Fantastic experience: One of the few places left that offer solutions to problems we face. I have had a lot problems and typically you go to your Dr or general practitioner and the solutions they offer do not solve your problem from the root. Going to a good PT office actually solves your problem from the root or source of the problem. A lot of emphasis is spent on strengthening, mobility to solve problems versus drugs or medicine.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience here! This was the 3rd PT I had been to for the same issue and the first and only one where I saw the improvement and progress I was looking for. They did a great job with listening to my needs and goals and were very attentive and involved when I was doing my exercises. I really felt like they pushed and challenged me, which is what I was looking for, and I felt so much stronger and prepared to continue on my own when I eventually left.

Fantastic experience: Was my first time going to a physical therapist so was a bit intimidated at first. That was very quickly fixed as everybody there has been super welcoming and helpful. Liza is great and works magic at making sure you get scheduled in whenever you need to go. Calvin and Luke are absolute beasts and get you fixed up real quick. Super knowledgable and great at identifying you needs and exactly how to target them.They are great at tailoring exercises for you to do at home and helping you achieve my goals. Overall great experience, I would come here everyday multiple times a day if they let me :D

Negative experience: They owed me money after I overpaid for service after a claim. They kept putting off paying me back until I made a review complaining about this. So make a review if there's something they won't do for you.

Fantastic experience: Dave is a wonderful physical therapist skliied,, experienced, customer focused and friendly. His facility is fisrt rate with totally new equipment. His staff, including his PT's are a reflexion of Dave. I cannot recommend this facility high enough.

Fantastic experience: These guys deserve 10 stars. Advanced Physical Therapy is incredible. The staff is great. A few years ago I had shoulder surgery and Dave Turner worked on my shoulder afterwards. I attribute my full range of motion to Dave’s wonderful care and treatment I recently returned to Dave and his staff due to a lower back issue. Treatment is going extremely well with Dave, Calvin, and Luke. Back is feeling much better due to their work on me. I would highly recommend this facility and their staff to everyone. The cupping treatment and stretching routines are making my life with the back issue much more manageable Thanks again Advanced Physical Therapy.

Fantastic experience: My physical therapist Calvin is very knowledgeable of the muscles in the human body. He can locate the source of pain and bring some relief, but the goal is to teach you how to do the proper exercises to reduce and eliminate ongoing pain.

Fantastic experience: love this place....I know...love is a strong word but I meant it. I have only been here for a week after my meniscus surgery (and also recovering from my ACL surgery earlier this year) and I felt the progress made by Dave and Calvin. I highly recommend.

This specialized approach helps you to heal faster. If you are in need of physical therapy, this is the place to go!

Dave & Calvin helped improved my situation every session. They take the time to educate me on the what, how and why we do certain motions and exercises. Ryan, Liz and Jesus are such welcoming and cheerful people every time I go for my sessions. I drive half and hour or more every time I go for my treatment and it's totally worth it!

They will guide you through the exercises and procedures.

Fantastic experience: I’m so happy that I’ve found Advanced Physical Therapy. I’ve tried many PT practices in the area over the years, but this is the friendliest, most comfortable office I’ve been to by far. They take their time to make sure you get the most from each appointment, not just rushing you through demonstrating some exercises for you to do at home. Dave and his staff are great, they definitely know their stuff, and I actually enjoy going to my visits.

Fantastic experience: This is without question a first class professional and knowledgeable group of Physical Therapists lead by Dave Turner. I had much relief for my chronic osteoarthritis of the knee in only 2 visits and learned various ways to continue the exercises at home. Best P.T. I have ever experienced and would give them 6 stars if possible!

Fantastic experience: Dave is an amazing Physical Therapist. He has solved numerous of my knee and back/spine problems. He will listen to you and answer any and all of your questions patiently to your satisfaction. He will spend a lot of time personally helping you as much as needed. Every time you leave his office, you leave satisfied and feeling better with pain than you entered the office an hour or two ago. The best thing Dave did for me, before even I went into my spine surgery was to motivate me to loose over 20lbs before surgery. And he enlightened and motivated me so well, that I did loose 22lbs before surgery within 2 months with just diet. Thanks to that, now both my surgeon as well as Dave tell me that I have been recovering much faster than other lumbar fusion patients. Thanks a lot Dave.

Fantastic experience: Possibly the BEST physical therapist on our planet?  I am a 42yo physician who underwent ACL & meniscus repair several years ago following a ski injury.  After a softball injury on the same knee, I underwent meniscectomy in Aug 2019.  My same meniscus tore again in Jan 2020.  I then saw 2 surgeons who both recommended a repeat meniscectomy.  I needed another solution.  My colleague (who has had diffuse musculoskeletal injuries, pain and multiple surgeries) referred me to Dave. Over the past 3 months, I've been treated in the clinic approx once a week.  (A sanitized, pristine, anti-COVID zone as all the staff carry sprays/ wipes/ masks, and disinfect every machine/ table near every 5 minutes).  This large clinic resembles a gym, with a plethora of equipment, devices, strengthening gadgets, balance boards, bands, power-balls and miracle tools. The staff are ahead of their field, performing manipulation techniques, myofascial release, deep tissue methods to improve blood/ oxygen/ lymphatic circulation, cupping (yes- just like the ones we see on Olympic athletes), Graston therapy, break down of scar tissue, heating, electrical stimulation, hypervolt, kinesio taping and patient education! MY RESULTS: stronger muscles around my knees, more stability, improved mobility, and I do NOT NEED surgery!  I truly believe that if I had come to the clinic 1 year prior, I could have avoided my Aug 2019 knee surgery. I have also had chronic neck pain for over 15 years.  Pain medications, anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxers, CBD cream, heating, constant yoga, pain specialists, other physical therapists, chiropractors, deep tissue massage near every 2 weeks have been minimally effective.  Dave started working on my neck 3 weeks ago, and this is sincerely the best my neck has felt in years. Make an appointment now!  You will NOT regret it!
