Negative experience: Understaffed. Lack of communication. Unorganized. Overcrowded. Noisy. Cold. Some closets are falling apart. Horrible! Can’t wait to transfer my friend out of this nightmare.

Fantastic experience: I would recommend Huntington Valley highly , a loved one is currently be treated very well ! The building , the Workers are excellent , medical care is superb .

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Huntington Valley Healthcare Center highly enough. The staff here are incredibly compassionate and professional, ensuring every resident feels comfortable and cared for. The facility is always clean and welcoming. My mother member has thrived here for 2 months, thanks to rehab and engaging activities that keeps her active and happy. It's a relief to know she’s in such good hands, surrounded by people who genuinely care about her well-being.

Fantastic experience: Really attentive staff. The facility is clean. And they have a water fountain outside for people to sit and eat / relax if they are strong enough. Much better than the facility that he was at a few months ago (Seal Beach Health and Rehabilitation Center - really horrible care + they didn't communicate he was to be discharged so my parents had to pay for the extra days which ended up being $5,000!).

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough how happy and grateful I am to HVHCC. PATIENCE and KINDNESS are two main words to describe the people here. They have taken great care of my mother in-law during her long term care and my mother for short term care. From top to bottom, everyone is wonderful, patience and very attentive. There are so much more I can say about everyone but I have to keep this review “short.” First of all, there is Dave, the Director of Physical and Occupational Therapy! If your goal is to find a great physical/occupational therapist, then this facility is a must! Dave has been there for over two decades and manages a wonderful team of physical therapists, especially Joe, Calvin, Alex, Andrew and Pei, who are not only excellent at what they do, but they all treated both my 2 moms like their own grandmothers. Dave’s and his team’s treatment philosophy is a perfect balance of aggressiveness with compassion. It’s all about tough love, knowing that my moms needed to work hard to get better but also understanding the needs and limitations of an elderly person. Even with moms’ limited English, communication was never a problem for Dave and his team. The highlights of both my moms’ days were the hours they spent in therapy. With my mother in-law in her 90s, Dave understood the need for her to be out of bed. Even days when she didn’t have therapy, he would have her sit in the therapy room just so she could be surrounded by people who love her. Even towards the end when she could no longer communicate much, we could see her face lit up when they took her there. With my mom in her 80s, Dave and his team performed a miracle. My mom struggled with temporary memory loss every time she is hospitalized. Under Dave and his team, she improved her memory in a month what took her almost a year at another facility the last time. Dave also gave me his cell phone number. There would be times when he would return my calls at 10pm. I never thought I’d have a need to speak to a physical therapist this late. But it’s because Dave goes above and beyond his patients’ needs…not just their therapy but whatever else he could do to ease his patients and their family’s concerns. At times when I could not get the information I needed from the nursing staff, Dave would walk to their station and himself sorted out the problems for me. And when my moms’ doctor was too busy to return my calls, Dave was the only one who somehow managed to get the doctor to call me back. Thank you!! And then there are Andrew, the Administrator, and Ivy, the Director of Nursing. Together they make a great team of leaders. You can’t find a more hands on director than Ivy. She did not hesitate to give me her cell phone number. And as busy as she is, she will get back to me by the end of the day. As much as I tried not to bother her after hours, if she could not return my text during her 9-5 days, she will get back to me at night, on the weekends and even while she was on vacation. My mom’s favorite CNA is Carlos. Carlos and nurses Amy and Angela are sweet, kind, patient and so accommodating. Amy patiently, with a smile, repeated the same answers to my mom countless times and never a complaint. Vivian is the most reliable line of communication for me to advocate for my mom. She will return my calls and follow up with whatever my mom needed. Gina the receptionist is the cheerful and kind voice and beautiful face you want to hear and see to calm your worries or just make you feel very welcome. Carrie the dietitian invites your inputs on how to better meet my moms’ nutritional needs and even gave me her personal cell phone. My only complaint is the lack of Asian foods to serve their Asian patients, which Carrie has tried to push. Thank you, Dave, Ivy and everyone (and all whose names I’m sure I forgot to mention) at Huntington Valley for your kindness and dedication. I know everyone is overworked in an extremely challenging industry. We so much appreciate all that you do.

Fantastic experience: Top notch facility. My mother was admitted in 2022 for rehabilitation. The staff is the best we have ever experienced. They got her back on her feet in no time and was able to come home.

Fantastic experience: Angie, Ivy, Andrew, Dave and the team of therapists and nurses were wonderful in helping my grandmother recover after a hospital visit. They were prompt in responding to our questions and navigating this new experience. Also a special shout out to Angelina a CNA who made sure she had a warm cup of coffee each morning. From the moment we arrived, the staff demonstrated unparalleled compassion and professionalism. The rehabilitation program tailored to her broken hip was comprehensive, and the skilled therapists guided her with expertise and encouragement. The facility itself is clean, comfortable, and equipped with state-of-the-art amenities. Negative experience: The worst part about this place were the case managers Angie and Joyce. I basically did their job for them. My family and I felt completely blind sided by them constantly. The lack of communication was unbelievable. Just one example, my uncle missed a dialysis apt and we would have never found out had I not randomly emailed the dialysis center about a question I had. The dialysis center was the one who told me my uncle missed an apt. I then had to email Huntington Valley and ask why my family wasn’t notified and their answer was basically no answer. We transferred my uncle to a different facility but before we left I had to make sure the manager knew my concerns about his case managers and he was VERY nice and very apologetic to how we were treated. It doesn’t take back everything we went through but it does help knowing I was heard. Hopefully he makes some changes with how they communicate there because the commutation at the new rehab place we’re at now is NIGHT AND DAY in comparison. So I know it’s possible. As a person who helps run a company I know communication is key to running a successful operation. You just can’t lack that when you’re in the HEALTH industry. End rant.

Fantastic experience: I am extremely pleased with the care that my mother has received at Huntington Valley Healthcare Center. As a Vietnamese individual, it was important to us that she felt comfortable and understood during her stay. The fact that they offer Vietnamese food options and have Vietnamese-speaking staff made all the difference. The staff here goes above and beyond to provide excellent care, and their willingness to accommodate cultural preferences is truly commendable. My mother has not only received top-notch medical attention but also a sense of cultural connection that has eased her transition into the facility. The care and compassion shown by the team at Huntington Valley Healthcare Center have been exceptional. It's reassuring to know that my mother is in such good hands, and I wholeheartedly recommend this facility to anyone seeking high-quality care with a commitment to cultural sensitivity. Negative experience: One of the worst home care facilities in Huntington Beach. My Dad was here 2 weeks ago and I transferred him to our house instead of letting him stay here for rehab. I noticed that everyday his getting worse. My Dad lost a lot of weight because they don’t feed him, they don’t clean him. He’s skin was irritated with bed sore. The nurse and LVN who’s assigned to him are rude and disrespectful and disgusting.. I will never forget the nurse name is Jaimie I believe she is a Vietnamese doesn’t care about there patients.. She just gave my Dad medication without a water, she just smashed it and mix to apple sauce.. I confront her and tell her why are you doing that to my Dad and she said she is busy.. same as the male nurse his name is Richard , this people who wants to work in health care business doesn’t care.. IF YOU DO NOT LOVE YOUR WORK AND DOESNT CARE, Don’t work with sick patients find a different job.. I will never recommend this place to my families or friends.. There a lot of good home care facilities out there.. Don’t bring them here..

Fantastic experience: I took a tour of this facility as my grandfather needed rehab after a fracture. The receptionist was very friendly and the facility smelled nice (I have toured other facilities that did not). Staff was very friendly. This was our first choice and my grandpa enjoyed his 3 week stay here. The rehab team was excellent! Thank you to all the staff who cared for my grandfather so well!

Fantastic experience: I often tell people how I feel working here has been one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever had. Everyone here at the facility treats the patients with the care, respect, and love one would give their own family. As a receptionist I get to know the families that walk through our doors and their loved ones, so when the day comes when the patients are over rehabilitation and ready to go home I am overjoyed to celebrate the occasion with them. If you are looking for a place to send your loved ones, this is the place. The rehab team is top-notch. The activities staff always have events: musicians, arts and crafts, church services, and other pursuits for all levels of engagement (the once a month Candlelight Dinner is the highlight of our patients' social calendar) The food here is quite good (I've been able to enjoy a meal here once or twice), and it is steps above what one finds in a healthcare facility. I love coming in in the morning and smelling bacon, toast, or pancakes depending on what was being served. Yet, above all else what puts Huntington Valley above and beyond any other facility is the people. The staff here are friendly, compassionate people who will give your loved ones care and respect like they are family.

Fantastic experience: My mother was here for 3 months to get rehabilitation after a fall. She has full dementia, and they were able to deal with her mood swings so wonderfully. All the staff was always so very kind. I never felt that I had to worry about my mother, not being well taken care of there. I highly recommend this lovely place for your loved one !

Fantastic experience: My aunt is 95 and here recovering from Covid. The staff and administrators have been very helpful in addressing all the concerns I have had regarding her care and recovery. The nursing team under Ivy’s supervision is both professional and efficient. They are available to answer questions and provide good care and expertise. I can’t say enough about the CNA‘s who work tirelessly to attend to the numerous, and never ending needs of all the patients. They do so in an incredibly friendly and compassionate manner. A big shout out to Dylan, Samantha, Yeli and Daniel just to name a few, but they are all really great! Before getting Covid, my aunt was in assisted, living and managing toileting, hygiene, and eating on her own. She would walk the hallways, get to the cafeteria on her own scooting in her wheelchair and read books by the window. With Covid, she lost her mobility, was too weak to swallow and had to be placed in diapers. So, the team at Huntington Valley under Dave’s leadership has provided physical, occupational and speech therapy for my aunt. I am terrible at the name game, but they are all highly skilled and incredibly kind. They are each so passionate about patients’ recovery. Mejong and Pei always take the time to greet us and provide updates. They encourage her and praise her for her efforts. I feel she is safe with all members of the rehab team. So, when patients are getting a bit on the road to recovery and able to participate in activities, Tricia and Alicia, and one other lovely young gal, who I can’t remember her name provide a variety of fun and inspirational activities. You can tell they really love their patients and do their best to help the hours days and even months go by while keeping each patient engaged at their capacity. They don’t mind family visits and are always cheerful and helpful. They have made even my most hopeless days seem brighter! My aunt especially loves bingo day. Mitchell and the other front desk staff keep the facility and the communication flowing. It’s always nice to walk in and be greeted so cheerfully. When my aunt gets bored I roll her to the front for a chat with Mitchell and we always end up with a good laugh. If you have ever had a loved one in assisted, living or skilled nursing, you will understand the laundry game. I have had a couple treasured items go missing, and the efficient staff in the laundry room seem to simply pull the items out of a hat and return them to me. Andrew, the lead administrator always has time for a chat to answer questions and address concerns. He Dave and Ivy have all made a very sad and stressful time so much better. The facility itself is clean, bright and aesthetically pleasing. All of the rooms have either a large window or patio type sliding door. This allows for great ventilation, and a fresh atmosphere. In short, nobody wants to see their loved one in distress, or spend quality time in the hospital or skilled nursing facility. But, when it happens, don’t hesitate to place them in the care of Huntington Valley . Oh, I forgot to mention the food! The kitchen staff are superb. My aunt is finicky, so she does not necessarily take advantage of all they offer, but I highly rate the diversity, nutrition and quality of the food. The Dietitian is also available to meet your loved ones needs.

Positive experience: My Dad was here for 3 weeks. The PT team was awesome and his nurses and aids were helpful. The case management team was also awesome. I would have given a 5 star except for the building. A bit dated and old looking but the people there were great!

This is the Best facility I have seen as well as the loving care of my brother who were transferred after moving from several facilities and the reason why I felt is the Best placement for my mom to get treatments.

Fantastic experience: The Administrator Andrew Stephenson is fantastic to work with! He has an upbeat attitude, he is reliable, and usually always has a smile on his face! I absolutely love working on projects with him! He has a way with making people feel comfortable!

Positive experience: Not enough nurses for help the Pt, and some of the CNA was very nice, the nurses are very over work and needs help the buttons almost never worked for was nasty l would not ever want to stay there again or put any of my love ones there

Negative experience: If Zero was an option it would be a zero. My dad was at this facility for less than a month and the staff was nasty, rude, neglectful, disrespectful and just simply ignoring the basic care and needs of a 8 times stroke person. The staff here are more concerned with covering up for other neglectful staff members and giving the run around on who's job it isnt and not who is just going to get the job done. When contacting the director I was given the run around repeatedly. my dad got a rash from not being tended to or cleaned regualarly. Cathater dirty and not changed he also got blisters that they then claimed he came in with. When we requested that he be sent to a hospital they tried to run interference until we were upset and demanded him to be sent. This place is not for sick people who need real help. The staff here would rather play like they are super busy doing nothing and stand around and talk about there residents than to tend to the emergency lights that the residence have put on. I watch them take up to 45minutes before going to see about a patient and not care about what is happens in their care to all of the residence. Repeated requests for basic cold water and ice went untended to and was given attitude when asked why he didnt have them. tomato soup was given for dinner when my father has a tomato allergy. It seems that they are more concerned with their coworkers daily drama then tending to the care of their residents. Open chatter of dropped blood sugars of feeding tubes residents was a normal practice as the standard of care just simply was not there. Bacterial infections was contracted and no communication about this was given. DO NOT ALLOW YOUR LOVED ONES TO COME HERE... THEY ARE NOT SAFE!!!!

Negative experience: They just watched my mother get sicker and sicker by the day (it was during a Covid out brake so we were advised to stay away ). Finally I demanded a discharge and had her sent to the hospital. She had suffered a mild heart attack. Don’t send your family here . Christy the admissions person is perky is sweet . She does a great job getting people to stay there. She deserves a raise .

Negative experience: This place is HORRIBLE and Delapidated. They do NOT take care of their residents. From giving g my mom a salt pack on lunch tray(she is on low to NO sodium) to having Call Buttons that don't work mother has been there for a week and not even ashowet...DO T PUT LOVED ONES HERE .EASE!@@

Negative experience: We had a very poor experience with this facility in 2021 when my mother was there. Staffing was inadequate, communication was limited, and the collaboration of medical care was non-existent. PT was great, as was the front desk and 1 CNA in particular. But I hope I never have to go back.

Negative experience: If zero stars was an option we would put zero stars, we had a terrible experience at Huntington valley!!! I would tell anyone who would want to go here - if you care about your loved one Do NOT send them to this facility! They skipped meals for our loved one who was on a feeding tube, when he tried to tell the nurses.this, they told him he was wrong. There were many other instances of incompetence of the staff. The only thing that was good about this was the rehab staff, they were wonderful. Stay away from this place

Fantastic experience: Whoever ever coined the term, “Superheroes Work Here,” hit it spot on. Huntington Valley Healthcare is the epitome of just that! My sister was recently discharged after spending several months there. I can not say enough great things about HVHC. My sister was recovering from a traumatic surgery and was definitely a “high maintenance” patient. The staff was incredible especially in the thick of things of the corona virus. They kept me informed and assured our family that my sister was safe and comfortable. They were her “family” when our family couldn’t visit due to the restrictions. If you or a loved one ever need a healthcare facility, you should definitely choose Huntington Valley. I’m sure they won’t disappoint!

Negative experience: I do not recommend this place. The workers here do not take good care of patients, patients are consistently neglected. The nurses are not respectful, are loud, and the receptionist is rude. When we would visit, we had to clean up after our family member and make sure that the workers were following through with check ups.

Negative experience: Rude Receptionist and disrespectful employees to the patients, and loud environment. If you have a family member that is ill do not take them to this place! They were not helpful!

Negative experience: The nursing home is terrible You turn on your call I see you don’t come a lot of major issues over this one that somebody should look up at you

Negative experience: The 2 stars are for how the place looks from the outside, and that it’s fairly clean on the inside. Negligence by staff and patient abuse is unacceptable! My mom became non-verbal and non-mobile due to a stroke after a hip surgery that got her there. Staff would leave her in a chair all day from 8 or 9am to 4pm. Unable to ask for help, or move in her chair, she sat there suffering. Her room-mates complained for her and were scolded or dismissed. When the place opened after covid isolation, and I was able to see her, she had lost weight and I’d find her drenched in urine all the way up in her back. They left her food to get cold before they fed her. Sometimes, they put a plate of food in front to see if she’ll feed herself, which she couldn’t. They left food in her mouth and never cleaned it. Keep your loved one at home if you can. I don’t recommend this place for anyone who can’t fend for themselves. Thank you for reading.

Fantastic experience: Very pleased with the care and facility. Everyone is organized and positive and they have the patients best interest in mind.

Negative experience: Myself and my mothers caregiver had a horrible run in with the desk Nurse Dakota on Saturday. She basically told us after waiting over an hour, that she did not have time for us and had 40 other patients to worry about. Very poor customer service. The patients are the reason she is there and has a job.

Negative experience: My mom was there for 3 weeks, in and out few times to ER , No any communication from Dr, i havent recieved any phone call at all, poor communication, I advise you to not send your loved one there.

Fantastic experience: Huntington Valley Carecenter is a great facility. My aunt is there and because of their care, cooperation, interest and taking time to listen and act, my aunt was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus and was referred to a neurosurgeon. After, her surgery she was back to being able to make conversations, remembering, relating and we have hope that she can come home again. Thank you for the whole team, specially the physical therapist David. Very friendly place.
