Therapy helps you recover as quickly and as safely as possible after an injury, accident or illness. Huntsville Hospital Therapy & Sports Rehab is the largest and most comprehensive therapy program in north Alabama and is backed by the region’s trusted leader in health care.
With the largest number of licensed, registered and certified therapists, therapy assistants, exercise physiologists and certified athletic trainers in north Alabama, we are experienced in all levels of rehabilitation.
Anodyne Therapy is an infrared light therapy used to increase circulation and temporarily reduce pain from symptoms often associated with diabetes, including stiffness and muscle spasms. Anodyne therapy is typically paired with therapeutic exercise.
Aquatic therapy is helpful for stroke patients and for people with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, back pain and joint pain. Benefits of aquatic therapy:
Industrial Rehab is a structured, goal-oriented program designed to help participants identify work capacities, regain functional skills and return to work after an injury. Our program includes:
Lymphedema Management is an effective treatment for women experiencing swelling that sometimes occurs in the arm after breast surgery. Our physical therapists are specially trained in Manual Lymph Drainage, which involves therapeutic massage and use of compression bandages to help control swelling. Education for self-care techniques is also provided.
Occupational Therapy utilizes the "occupations" of self-care, work and leisure activities to increase independence, enhance development and/or prevent disability. Occupational therapy is helpful for those who need specialized assistance to lead independent, productive and satisfying lives due to physical, developmental, social or emotional concerns.
Physical Therapy helps restore functional independence and may utilize any or all of the following: exercise, heat, cold, electrical stimulation and/or massage. Physical therapy is tailored to each person's unique needs.
Speech Therapy is the treatment of speech, language, voice and communication disorders to improve safety and independence. People with eating and swallowing problems also benefit from speech therapy.
Sports Rehab at Huntsville Hospital is proudly called "where the pros rehab." Our certified athletic trainers and physical therapy staff care for athletes from several of north Alabama's top professional, collegiate and club/community athletic teams.

Fantastic experience: I recommend that persons with a Parkinson’s diagnosis check out the Parkinson’s Care Clinic at Huntsville Hospital Therapy and Sports Rehab facility. The therapists possess the knowledge and competence needed for treating PD. Each patient is treated as an individual because no two cases of Parkinson’s are alike. The therapists are kind and understanding, challenging us but not frustrating us. I feel that they are helping me to cope with PD and delay the progression.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking therapy at the therapy & sports rehabilitation for the last month. My therapist Mr. Dan Bulgatz has been excellent. Fantastic experience: My daughter is receiving physical therapy here and has great therapists. They also have great people to work for scheduling appointments. They are very innovative with their approach to therapy. She receives land therapy as well as pool therapy. I cannot recommend them enough! I would like to give a big shout out to Laine, Anna, and Michelle!

Fantastic experience: During my first pregnancy, i was referred to do pelvic therapy. i absolutely loved my therapist. She is very kind and caring. She was also very knowledgeable about pregnancy.. all the exercises and ways to make delivery easier! When i do come back, i will definitely be asking for danielle again

Fantastic experience: Had a hip replacement and the therapists are very nice. Understanding and compassionate but fair. They make sure you do what is needed to get better for your own good. But are also aware everyone has a different opinion of what pain is. Some people break a toe and fall apart. Others myself included can break bones and not go to the ER for 2 or 3 days. If you follow directions and dedicate yourself to doing what needs to be done they are awesome! Every person I have interacted with has treated me as a person with respect and understanding-that alone is worth more than you realize. Thank you to everyone there for their support and hard work.
