Fantastic experience: Madison works the front desk and she always greets you with a smile. She is so sweet and professional and she provides great customer service. Olivia is mom’s therapist and she is amazing and has a lot of experience. She works very well with my mom. She knows how to encourage my mom to move and I love that she talks to her while doing therapy because it helps distract my mom from what she’s doing. Olivia motivates my mom to do her best. I am so glad that we found Lystra Therapy and Wellness because they care about their patients and they are all very nice and friendly. Leslie, the manager was very helpful and provided me with all the information that I needed to start the referral process. I was very happy with the turn around time to get my mom in for her evaluation so she could get started with her therapy. My mom is in good hands and I am already seeing progress. Fantastic experience: As a first time participant in physical therapy I had high expectations. Those expectations were met and exceeded by the staff at Lystra. They were professional yet warm and compassionate. I cannot say enough good things about April. She worked with me to manage my sciatica and SI joint pain and I now have a routine I can continue to use to control future flare ups. If you want some place that will listen to you and make changes based on your evolving issues, this is definitely the place!

Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Jocelyn throughout my pregnancy for pelvic floor therapy and general strengthening to reduce pregnancy related pains. I have seen a huge improvement since starting in my posture and strength and have learned a lot of techniques that will help me throughout labor and delivery. Seeing a PT that specializes in pregnancy has been a game changer, and I would highly recommend Lystra and Jocelyn for anyone looking for pelvic floor care.

Fantastic experience: We moved to Huntsville, AL, from northern Utah, 10 months ago. While in Utah, my wife and I were both being treated by physical therapists, her for cervical dystonia (torticollis) and for myself, an issue with dull numbness and tingling in my fingers and toes. We connected w/Robert Malone & staff, at Lystra Physical Therapy And Wellness, Madison, AL, around July '22. After initial consultations w/Robert (to discuss our issues), we set-up appointments and went to work. My wife's situation is more intense and complicated than mine, however, in just the short time she has worked w/Robert, she does in fact have noticeable improvement w/her condition; increased quality of life in affected areas. With prescribed at home exercises and a weekly visit to Lystra, she's doing so much better. My situation had begun to improve somewhat, while in Utah. After working w/Robert and experimenting w/different ideas he had, my situation is pretty much a non-issue. Due to the personal care and dedication provided by the Lystra team, we can't say enough about how much our quality of life has improved. Thanks for the wonderful care and help you've provided to us.

Fantastic experience: Joselyn did an amazing job with my 16 year old. She was having neck and shoulder issues from a car accident and was unable to do normal activities, such as carrying her backpack, holding items for long periods of time, riding her horse etc. Through her therapy, Joselyn taught my daughter body awareness, strengthening as well as stretching techniques and when each should be performed. What great tools for her to have so young. Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: Joselyn was my physical therapist. She did a fantastic job treating my issue, explaining why she was prescribing particular exercises and stretches and tracking my progress. Fantastic experience: Highly knowledgeable and truly professional staff! I can’t say enough good things about this place and the team that works there. When I came in with an Achilles injury, they were able to develop a physical therapy program tailored to my specific needs. They addressed the injured area and, more importantly, also addressed the underlying causes that contributed to the injury. With them being able to correctly address the underlying causes (AKA muscle balances and weaknesses in other areas), this helped to prevent any repeat injuries while returning back to my physical activities. I’m now back to training at higher levels with confidence (for a few months now) than before and I owe this all to the great team at Lystra on literally getting me back on my feet!! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I love the team at a Lystra Physical Therapy! I was told about Lystra by a friend before I ever broke my arm (age 65), so I was excited to see if my friend’s enthusiastic recommendation and information were accurate. Either Robert or April worked with me, not just on my arm, but also on my posture and strength and habits for structural health. They are knowledgeable and caring and actually worked with me and on me the entire hour, every time I went in. I was expecting to regain range of motion and strength, but I came away with much more than that. The team at Lystra equipped me with tools to maintain structural health. Joshlynn is knowledgeable about Medicare and this being my first claim ever, she was invaluable, helping me to understand the system. From the receptionist to each therapist, all are wonderfully friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. I already miss them!

Fantastic experience: If you need PT this is a great place! Friendly staff and great immediate, hands-on care as well as techniques for at home care. Came after finding out I didn’t have a herniated disc. Turns out, my pain was all muscle and ligament related. What a relief and in so much less pain. I’m now 9 months pregnant and they have adjusted my care and at home techniques for my pregnancy. Thank you to Robert and Brandy!!

Fantastic experience: I came to Lystra because of a back injury. I have worked alongside physical therapists before, but it was my first time needing physical therapy myself. My first appointment was with Robert. He asked several questions and helped me to pinpoint what was causing my pain. He took the time to explain what was happening, show me why, and make a plan to help. His expertise was clear, and I experienced relief from the pain that brought me to physical therapy in the first place after my first appointment. From that point, I met with Joshlyne twice a week. She helped me further understand how to stretch and strengthen the areas causing my discomfort. I continued to see progress, not just with lessening pain but with strengthening my core and relieving the fatigue I felt most days before starting physical therapy. She was always motivating, and she listened to my concerns. If something specific was bothering me on the day of a session we worked through that too. I was never left alone to complete exercises. I was encouraged and instructed well throughout therapy. After several weeks, I graduated from therapy. It was wonderful to not be in pain but I sure miss spending a bit of my time learning how to feel better with the caring professionals at Lystra. I will recommend them to anyone who is hurting. I’m thankful I found myself in this practice and not somewhere else.

Robert and Joshlyne are very caring and compassionate, in addition to being an excellent provider of physical therapy. The office is very clean and inviting. Scheduling is very easy. Appointments are on time. I love that she updates my exercises each time based on my physical health. As a Soldier, I have had a variety of injuries and Lystra has been able to adapt my workouts to help keep me healthy at an advanced age for a Soldier. I highly recommend Lystra Therapy for all of your physical therapy needs!

Fantastic experience: Well this is a bitter sweet review. My almost year long PT is coming to an end. This PT company is one of the best at what they do in Huntsville. I’ve been to at least four companies and no one can lay a hand on this place. I have had the pleasure of working with Robyn, Robert, April, and Joslyn. Lol so I am an expert at this point and can contest that per my experience each one brought their own special and unique expertise and touch for my benefit. They have helped me tremendously regain my ability to walk more than a few feet. Am I still slow? Sometimes! Lol However, am I walking now without a walker, wheelchair, or cane? Absolutely! Hats off to these lovely people for helping me have a form of normalcy back in my life. Due to chronic illness and a recent knee injury I may need them again in the future and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Thanks Again!!!

Fantastic experience: Absolute professionals. That sums this place up. Robert and his staff are amazing and really seem to care about treating the underlying issues, rather than just handing out homework and taking your money. I went here for some upper back pain. I thought I needed a chiropractor, but after speaking with Robert and his minion (inside joke if she reads this post), I realized that a chiropractor wouldn't have been able to help. I've only been a couple of times, and overall, my back is already feeling better. There are several physical therapists in Huntsville, but if you have a choice, go here. You will not be disappointed. The office is very clean and inviting.

Fantastic experience: After a broken shoulder experience I continued to have falls and Lystra Therapy has treated me for the shoulder movement and the fact that my leg was not moving properly to maintain balance control. My therapist, Brandy, has helped me tremendously by including as much help guidance and exercise training to where my shoulder and arm work fine now and with a cane I can walk to prevent more falling accidents. Fantastic experience: I have been extremely impressed with the progress that I have made by going to Lystra physical therapy. I was having over 20 plus migraines a month. With all the things they have done & taught me in the first month I was able to cut my migraines in half. I started out with an evaluation with Robert. Then he placed me with Brandi, she has been a life saver. She is incredibly kind & very professional and truly listens to what you have to say. I have been to a lot of different physical therapy places & this one is the first one to really work with me & teach things that truly will help me for years to come. Fantastic experience: Two other members of my family, and I, have needed the wonderful services of Lystra: residual pain from a vehicle accident and muscle spasms related to a neck issue. Robert and April were wonderful in helping work out the muscle spasms and giving us exercise homework that has helped turn permanent injuries into manageable issues. I can't recommend them highly enough!

Fantastic experience: Lystra Physical Therapy was more beneficial than they could ever realize! Robert and Robyn helped me to move from a level 9.5 of pain to .5 on a scale of 10. I suffered from major pain in my right hip which Left me unable to roll over in bed at times. Other times , I could hardly get up from a sofa after lying down! Sometimes after standing , I would be frozen in position for a few seconds in order to allow the pain to subside enough to walk, slowly! After extensive discussions and “therapy “ as well as homework to retrain and work the muscles “properly “ to achieve almost pain free movement, Robert has helped me more than I ever imagined! At 53 years old, I literally felt decades older prior to therapy. I have benefited from services from Lystra Physical Therapy because I was able to walk 2 miles and awaken the next day without pain. The staff and therapists are excellent; they are friendly, patient, professional and most importantly...knowledgeable!! They also enjoy helping patients , and I will actually miss attending my visits. I not only benefited from the physical aspect of the therapy but also the academic lessons in which we discussed how certain muscle strength improves and works in conjunction with others, especially as we age. Fantastic experience: I fell on two occasions in 2020. "Tripped"' while gardening- resulting in a broken left ankle. 2 weeks later I "tripped" in the house resulting in a fractured left hip with additional shoulder issues. I ended up going to a nursing home to get "rehab". As fate would have it, I was seen by a Lystra employee, April (the Nursing home had contracted for PT services with Lystra). I had only one session with April before Coivd hit the Nursing facilities and I returned home. Being 72 years old, there had been other health issues that resulted in my need for PT services (from different PT services). My experience with April for just one session was enough to KNOW that even though it would be a longer commute to sessions at Lystra from my home in the country - SHE was the person that could help me! AND APRIL HAS WORKED MIRICLES WITH ME ! April has worked with me to be pain free, in ankle, hip and shoulder!! I am also, NOW, competent in my movement decreasing potential for "tripping". Competent/Caring- Resourceful/Relentless! April is a source of healing-in a healing place(Lystra) !

Fantastic experience: I have been to military and civilian physical therapy clinics throughout the country and Lystra Physical Therapy and Wellness is by far the best there is. During my initial visit, Robert was able to relieve a pain in my side that I was experiencing constantly for over 7 years. I had been to multiple doctors in the past and endured a variety of testing, with no success. I began going to Lystra for issues with my back and was later seen for problems with my knee and shoulders. Before finding Lystra, I was unable to enjoy woodworking and outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, or even walking. I was in constant pain. Brandy took the time to understand what was causing the pain and treated the issues accordingly. After working with Brandy I can now enjoy hours of fishing and hiking with my family without paying for it for the next 2 days. I also walk without a constant limp because of the exercises and treatments Brandy taught me to do at home. Everyone in the office is great. Going to Lystra PT felt less like going to a medical appointment and more like going to visit friends. Thank you Lystra Physical Therapy for allowing me to enjoy my hobbies without pain and greatly improving my quality of life!

Fantastic experience: Robert was recommended to me by a lady who had hip replacement surgery and was struggling with pain. I was too. I saw Robert and was thrilled with his methods and my results. I returned for dizziness, TMJ issues and inflammation. I see April and Robert now. They are great at hands on identifcation of my pain sources as well as how I can assist in my own healing process. They are focused on each patient throughput each session. Great listeners and keen observers. I've been to several other physical therapy providers and Lystra is by far the most effective. Fantastic experience: A co-worker recommended them saying it prevented him from needing back surgery. They fixed my back in 1 visit! Additionally, I learned a lot about how to maintain myself to prevent future pain. I intend to go back about as often as I would have dental cleanings just for muscle and back maintenance and highly recommend anyone over the age of 40 do the same!

Fantastic experience: Lystra is the only physical therapy office I have EVER been to that had such immediate results. I went in on my first visit in extreme pain in my lower right side of my back and before even saying anything Robert knew right where the issues were and started manipulating the muscles. I felt such relief that I was actually able to leave walking upright for the first time in a week and a half. I would recommend this office to anyone in need of physical therapy. They don't need all of the electrodes and contraptions that other PT offices use. They have them if necessary, however, they use a hands-on approach that is absolutely outstanding!!!

Fantastic experience: My chiropractor recommended Lystra after adjusting me for a back/shoulder disfunction for many months. (I'd also been to 2 other physical therapists for the same problems, with minimal improvement over a year's time.) When I came, I was discouraged and thought that perhaps no one could help me. My therapists were Robert Malone and April Maples. They are amazingly gifted, knowledgeable, skilled and caring! ! I've now been released and am continuing to improve as I perform the exercises they gave me. I highly recommend Lystra.

Fantastic experience: From the point of view of a newly graduated PTA, the work done at Lystra is something I strive to be. I have only observed my husband's treatments, and have gleaned invaluable techniques and treatments far beyond things I have personally witnessed thus far. Robert and his team are hands on and work individually with each client allowing their scope of treatment to stretch far beyond the typical exercises and stretches. Fantastic experience: I never got the chance to write this review but now I am. I was removed from the military do the medical issues and severe back pain, was told that I will need back surgery. The pain was so bad I could not get in the floor to play with my daughter. Within a month of working with this center I was able to do all the things that I normally could not do. Not only was I able to avoid back surgery but my quality of life has improved greatly all thanks to LYSTRA this place really has changed my life!

Fantastic experience: A weighlifting accident left me in pain for 3 months. Pain with every step. Unable to walk up stairs. I was starting to think this would become a permanent injury. Then my nurse practitioner referred me to Lystra. After the first session I was pain free for the first time in months. In 4 sessions they stored my ability to walk upstairs. They taught me exercises to prevent future injuries. Then they fixed a problem I didn’t even know I had; neck and shoulder pain from stress. Before they fixed it, I didn’t realize my range of motion was incomplete. 5 stars are not enough. These wonderful people restored my health. Thank you, Robert, April and Jocelyn.

Fantastic experience: I came in for lower back pain that has been going on for the past three years. The initial visit I had was with Robert after I left I felt better and confident that they’ll be able to help. Robert is extremely knowledgeable and he validates your pain. After a couple visits with him, I started to see Brandy my physical therapist. She’s absolutely amazing she knows what she’s talking about and very helpful. She explains the exercises in an amazing way and helps you correct it if you end up doing it wrong. Since coming here I feel more relaxed and my pain is almost gone. I highly recommend this place!!

Fantastic experience: I've been in the military for close to 19 years, have had 6 surgeries in that time, and been referred to physical therapy at least a dozen times in numerous locations. I have had some bad experiences, and some good, but Lystra is, hands down, the best I have been to. They tailor the treatment to the individual, and don't give you the cookie cutter assembly line care you get in so many other facilities. Robert, April, and the whole staff take a, literal, hands-on approach to find and address the actual problem. I am currently being treated for ongoing hip pain following a surgical repair, and I am finally feeling relief for the first time in 3+ years.

Fantastic experience: I have been suffering with excessive scar tissue on my hand after carpal tunnel release surgery in January 2019. I went to two other physical therapy businesses in town and got no relief. When I found Lystra (Robert), things began to improve. Robert knew that to break down scar tissue, manual massage and manipulation was needed. Now, after a few weeks of therapy, my hand has almost gotten back to normal. I would highly recommend using Lystra! They provide individual care based on your need.

You are not rushed in and out - he takes the time to listen to you - and not just at your initial visit/evaluation! Each and every time, he gives personal attention to the needs/concerns of his patients. Joselyn, his assistant, is so kind! She will help in any way she can to get you in for an appointment. I can’t say enough positive things about Robert - he has helped me with my back, neck, and both elbows. I have been to several PTs over the years, and his approach is so different to any I’ve seen before! Thanks to him, I don’t need a second elbow surgery! (Wish I knew him before my first elbow surgery). Truly an exceptional therapist!!!

Fantastic experience: As a swimmer, I have had severe shoulder deficits for many years that had gotten so bad that simple tasks like washing my hair had become a chore. Robert has been the only therapist who would eventually fix my shoulder problems for good. He worked tirelessly with my coaches, his peers, and my own feedback to help create a specialized plan just for me.
