Fantastic experience: Jennifer Fast came to my home several times after my hip replacement. She was friendly and professional, and she explained why each exercise was important to my recovery. My progress has been great due to a great surgeon and to Jennifer's efforts in the weeks after my surgery.

Fantastic experience: I have made significant progress in one month working with my physical therapist, Barry, at KCOI. The front desk staff are pleasant and very accommodating to schedule and/or make changes and check-ins. The environment is clean and they have the perfect tools and equipment for what I have needed to improve. I am grateful!

Fantastic experience: Laurie G. is fantastic, knowledgeable, and a true professional. This is my second rehab for shoulder surgery in four years and she has been my occupational therapist both times. I highly recommend Kansas City Orthopedic Institute and Performance Rehab.

Negative experience: Very unhappy w thumb splint. It is worthless. I have no use of hand w it on. Sorry i didnt buy one from amazon. They even made me sign for it before it was finished.

Fantastic experience: My Therapist, Dana White, always initially asks about any pain in my arm and never pushes me beyond my limitations. Always recognizing when I am tiring. She is pleasant and fun to work with.

Fantastic experience: Nichole was very encouraging and professional. I have been very energized by our sessions and felt my recovery from hip surgery was definitely speeded up by the program she created for me.

Fantastic experience: Second knee. Could not be happier with all aspects from start to finish. Adrienne is super helpful. Dr. T J Rasmussen and surgical team patient and explained everything. The nurses in post op and in hospital were very attentive and made my stay great.

Fantastic experience: I have been both impatient an outpatient at Kansas City Orthopedic Institute. I must say that the rehabilitation services they offer at KCOI are top-notch because of their staff. Therapist whether it be speech, occupational therapy, or physical therapy, are all very professional and know their stuff when it comes to helping the patients get better, getting up, moving around, walking things that we take for granted when we are okay. I had to learn how to walk again because my strength was so weak because of Covid-19 Delta. The doctors at KCOI are also top-notch. Plus the surgeons I've dealt with all are very professional, down to earth, and know what they're doing. Which is a big plus for the patient. The only thing about the rehab is that they won't let you sit around and do nothing. They're there to make you feel & get better and they will. Is it easy? No. But, it is worth it.

Fantastic experience: Very pleased with the cleanest of the facility. My therapist (Erin,) thurlery explained my shoulder issues and what was needed to hopefully improve my range of motion given the injury I incurred. The exercises she presented were explained in detail and are truly helping with my range of motion and the lessening of pain.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Nicholas Ting and his amazing staff were (and continue to be) “above and beyond” when it comes to my surgery and continued care. Attention to detail - first rate. And all the way to my PT there at the center. I hope I don’t have to replace my other knee - but if I do - we know who we want to do it and where. We are forever grateful !!

Positive experience: The woman who made my brace was really friendly and answered all of my questions. She worked quickly and competently and fitted the brace really well. I do wish I had asked for more liners even if I needed to pay for them. I do Early Childhood teaching and can't keep the liner on my hand dry!

Fantastic experience: I chose Performance Rehab because of the location in the Kansas City Orthopedic Institute. The entire facility is top-notch. The staff is very friendly, professional and caring. My primary therapist is Jason Brinkman, MPT, being also scheduled with therapists Emily Tomlinson and Katie Kelly. So very happy I chose this facility. My progress is remarkably fast. I attribute this to the great care and professional knowledge being applied to my case and condition. I am pleased to recommend this group and facility.

Fantastic experience: Best pt visit ever. Lori was well prepared for me BEFORE My appointment. I was never abandoned while performing exercises and she was truly engaged with me, ensuring I kept in form. My stretch and angle continue to improve . My success with her direction drove me to schedule additional sessions!!!!

Fantastic experience: I did the 3 training sessions. Not gonna lie, it was hard, frustrating, harder than bringing home a new born. I wanted to throw in the towel but my trainer was with me every step of the way. I text questions, he responded. The last lesson my dogs were on point to every command and my dogs have been since! At night when I say kennel up they are in their kennels before I can get there to lock them in. Whenever I give a command I hardly need the controller. Totally worth every cent spent for the training, and I had serious doubts! The transformation in my dogs cancels all doubts I had before and going threw training!

Fantastic experience: I just completed therapy for a broken wrist. My therapist, Alicia, did a wonderful job working with me to get me back to full range of motion. Each week she had a plan that added new and more strenuous exercises. She was a great encourager throughout each session. I also worked with a few other therapists and each of them were very caring and very knowledgeable. I hope I don’t need therapy services again, but if I do I’ll come back here!

Fantastic experience: My experience at rehab was wonderful! Nichole Miller was my PT and she worked each week to help me have more use of my knee after surgery! She was tremendous! I would highly recommend her!! When my rehab was over she emailed me several exercises that I could do at home!

Fantastic experience: Always a busy and cheerful staff willing to answer questions and a positive atmosphere. I felt like all the Covid requirements were adhered to 100% by all the employees so felt safe....my Physical Therapist was Nicole Miller. She was friendly, informative, open and honest. Always willing to change things up when necessary. I love all the at- home exercises were printed for me to take home. Hard to remember all of them !! Feeling so much better Thanks to everyone on staff.....

Fantastic experience: I was referred to KCOI for physical therapy following a distal bicep tendon rupture that required surgical repair. Allie was extremely attentive to my injury and personalized her rehab plan to suit my recovery. She has a great bedside manner, and definitely made my visits enjoyable while focusing on getting me back to 100%. I hope that I'll never need the services again, however if I do, I will DEFINITELY be coming back.

Fantastic experience: All the therapists I have used are excellent. They listen if you’re doing too much and explain what the exercise is helping. They make sure to keep things clean and sanitized and I so enjoy going

Fantastic experience: I am very pleased with my experience at this rehab facility! The staff and RT's are professional and friendly! Social Distancing is in place before coming through the door. Every area is thoroughly disinfected after every client! Kudos to Scott, Katie, and Nancy!

Fantastic experience: I have had PT at KCOI for two different problems and have had only good experiences there. This last time was for my shoulder and Cindy was gentle, kind and patient. She worked with me with my level of pain and ability. Will definitely return if the need arises. Jason understands that I have a low level of pain tolerance and works with that but doesn't let me off the hook. He gently pushes me and encourages me to do more. Post-op knee surgery has been much more difficult and painful than I ever imagined.

Fantastic experience: My PT at this facility was superb! Scott did a fantastic job of assessing my pain situation, setting up great exercises, challenging me when appropriate, and working with me on scheduling. Thanks Scott!!

Fantastic experience: Andrew was very professional and attentive and always asked how I felt recovery was going. He never pushed me to do anything that caused pain. If I said it hurt, we stopped and tried something else. I felt it wasn't about his succeeding to make me better, but just me getting better. If one plan didn't work, we tried another

Fantastic experience: My name is Elizabeth Hamerski. I am very pleased with the work of my physiotherapist Katy Mercurio. I see that she has a lot of knowledge of anatomy and functioning of human body and what is equally important Katy has a gift of explaining everything with clarity and patience. Fantastic experience: Scott was my pre surgery ( hip replacement) therapist. I felt like I had gotten weak.over summer at home so needed to strengthen prior to surg. Surg was 10/12. Basically I've been doing my post EX with some discomfort but not much on pain scale. His encouragement and advice most helpful. I'm sure first couple of days still had some antithesis working. But now of course I assume out of system and getting along very well.

Fantastic experience: Excellent therapists and administrative team. The right amount of pushing combined with compassion and expertise. Admin team kept appointment scheduling organized and accurate.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at KCOI physical therapy. Everyone was kind, patient, supportive, and always explained the how and why of every exercise. After 6 weeks I left stronger and had a home plan to continue building strength.

Paul recently managed my 91 year old mother and her physician even commented that our therapy was amazing and he was very pleased with her results.

Fantastic experience: I just finished rehab from shoulder surgery. All around the staff at KCOI were great. My rehab went very smooth and I am back at work as a firefighter without worry. My therapist was Michelle. She took the time to adapt my therapy to my job. Can’t thank her enough for getting me back to work doing what I love.

Fantastic experience: My physical therapist, Hannah, has been great in assisting me to strengthen my knee back to 100%. She is very knowledgeable and always friendly. She has also been very flexible with my work schedule, which is greatly appreciated!

Fantastic experience: The staff was very attentive and nice. The doctor was very good at his job and very compassionate. But I don't think they should tell people they can drive themselves home after their surgery. I'm not used to driving with one hand. There's no way I should be trying to drive home with a hand that was essentially useless because of being numb.

Fantastic experience: I have been under the excellent care of Barry E, a fantastic MPT at KCOI. My progress has been jump started from the very first session. Barry was able to assess my situation and provide guidance that has allowed me to see exponential improvement. If you are in pain or recovering from surgery as I am please make an appointment to let someone take a look and see how they could help. After my hip replacement surgery it felt like the recovery was taking forever and now I know there’s an end in sight. Thank you to Barry and the entire staff at KCOI Rehabilitation Therapy Services.

Positive experience: My first therapist, Chris, was cold, not friendly, did not challenge me. After 3 sessions I asked to switch to Michelle. She was amazing, very encouraging, challenging, I learned so much from her. She answered all my questions, and kept me there the whole hour, I always left early with Chris. It’s all about who your therapist is!!

Fantastic experience: My experience after my knee replacement was excellent. The check in process is fast and the staff gets to know you by name. They are helpful if you need to reschedule or cancel. My therapist was outstanding! Michelle was wonderful with my knee rehab and when I told her I was having back pain she showed me some back stretches that really helped. I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: A nurse myself, I was very critical in choosing a Rehabilitation Center. I knew that, as a nurse, I can be a difficult patient! I would need a center that was patient focused, flexible, connected to my physician and friendly! I was beyond pleased with all of the above and more that KCOI had to offer me during my knee rehab. I am so impressed by the staff, the encouragement and the progressive program that I am now a human billboard for KCOI. My family members and friends will definitely be headed there if the need ever arises. Great job and Thank You to KCOI!

Fantastic experience: I recently had a meniscus tear surgery at a local hospital in KC and selected Rehab at KCOI to help me with my rehabilitation of the knee. I had a five star experience at KCOI. Jason Brinkman, my Physical Therapist was outstanding. I had four weeks of rehab and Jason had a great set of exercises for each week of rehab all of which were perfect for each week of the process. His instructions were very clear and I was able to supplement the KCOI appointments with rehab on my own. I finished with KCOI last week and was cleared to do many of my activities. The Staff at KCOI was very professional and the facility was top notch. I would definitely recommend KCOI.

Fantastic experience: This was my first rehab experience, and I didn't know what to expect. I could not have been more pleased. Cindy was patient, kind and totally focused on my wrist and hand, gently guiding me through pain relief and leading me on to strength building exercises.

Fantastic experience: The entire staff from the front desk to the PTs were fantastic. Chris and Jason put up with my impatience, during both knee rehabs, even though my rehab was going great. So glad I chose KCOI for my surgeries and rehab.

Fantastic experience: I had serious fractures of the elbow and knee, requiring a total of four surgeries. I cannot say enough good things about KCOI, my surgeon Dr. Unruh, the Urgent Care division of KCOI, the actual hospital at KCOI and the Rehab/Therapy division. The therapists (thank you, Laurie and Allie) were superb, knowledgeable, attentive. Without them, I don't think I would have made the full recovery that I did.

Fantastic experience: Cindy was great rehabbing my shoulder after my rotator cuff repair. She was gentle but prepared my shoulder for the flexibility and strength needed to go back to my job. She was always sending reports to my surgeon and they worked together on a plan for me. The experience could not have been better!
