Southland Physical Therapy - Irvine

Fantastic experience: Dr. Treavor did a great job giving me shock wave treatment, which broke up a bone spur contusion of calcium buildup on the top of my foot. The growth had been caused by my shoe having pushed up my orthotics, which was rubbing my foot as I walked down the stairs regularly at work. He said the shock wave treatment would help my brother with scar tissue on his feet, which had been caused by dropping hot oil on them. Dr. Treavor has amazing strength to deeply massage the bottom of my foot for plantar fasciitis from a dance accident, which he used to loosen up the tendons after shock wave treatment. He has experience in Sports Medicine which helped him to design my physical therapy with consideration of my previous serious injuries from a bicycle car accident when I was in high school. This was used in addition to my yoga, atlas-orthogonal chiropractic and acupuncture treatments. Dr. Treavor is relocating to the Long Beach office. Madison, one of Dr. Treavor’s assistants, was knowledgeable about applying physical therapy, to make sure I was not injured. She and other physical therapy assistants would have me tense areas like my core or my gluts during the physical therapy exercises he prescribed. They gave me a link to continue my therapy at home. Laura, a receptionist there, was exceptionally thoughtful, thorough and supportive.

Fantastic experience: I Have been to southland physical therapy in Irvine for neck and back issues most recently I broke my knee cap and I'm improving steadily. All the physical therapists I have had are stellar, they are professional and friendly, always making visits a pleasure. They listen to your concerns, work diligently to get you as pain free as possible and back to your previous level of activity The PT aids are well trained and keep you on track with your exercises. I always request a referral to Southland they are the very best!

Fantastic experience: My experience at Southland Physical Therapy was very helpful as well as enjoyable.One week prior to starting therapy, my legs were weak and I suffered from lower back pain. After several weeks of therapy, my legs became stronger and my lower back pain subsided. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable.They really show care and patience. Fantastic experience: I had spine surgery Sept of 2023. SL PT has helped me in ways that cannot be described. Their attention to detail and personized care has been immeasurable. Due to the extensive nature of my surgery, I had to have PT longer than other people but every one of the staff members have been great and so kind. Dr. Park's knowledge and experience is TOP notch. Although there are other physical therapist near me, I drive over 30 min. to come here. Highly highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: I have worked with the PT Jacob for the past 12 weeks and I’m so happy with what I’ve accomplished. I had severe pain in my legs and difficulty walking, and after working with him I couldn’t have felt better. Fantastic experience: I can’t express enough my thanks for Southland Therapy! Other places were recommending invasive knee surgery, so I thought I would give Southland PT a try, and Dr. Paul was amazing! He was attentive/personable and was able to help me regain range of motion in my knees which reduced my pain and greatly improved my quality of life. All the aides were great in helping me work through my exercises and Amanda at the front desk was always available to help me plan appointments around my busy schedule. The best part, is the reserved parking right in front of the center! I am so thankful to Dr. Paul and the team for helping me regain my ability to run around with my kids again!

Fantastic experience: Our previous experiences with physical therapy clinics have all been with one other company. When our insurance stopped their contract with that company in the midst of my daughter's therapy for her shoulder, I was at a loss on where to go next. That's what we landed on Southland Physical Therapy, and we had NO regrets about having to switch to them! In three months, Samuel and his team were able to treat my daughter's ongoing shoulder pain and allowed her to continue playing water polo. As a physical therapist myself, I really appreciate Samuel's expertise and his use of other modalities to supplement her treatment regimen. Samuel is easy going and very approachable - my daughter felt comfortable reporting her symptoms and progress at each appointment. Her therapy sessions coincided with her high school water polo season so having to balance after school practices with 2x/week games and 2x/week PT appointments were tricky at times, but Samuel and the front desk staff always managed to find times in his schedule so she could continue with her therapy with little interruption. In addition to Samuel, my daughter also worked with various PT assistants and she has nothing but good things to say about everyone she has met. Way to go, Southland Physical Therapy! You are a hidden gem in Irvine!

Negative experience: I'm trying to cancel the appointment, but the woman answering the phone is very unfriendly. It was very unpleasant. I talked on the phone at 9:14 on December 19th. It makes me not want to contact .

Fantastic experience: Southland is great for post surgery rehab! I tried another provider for a previous surgery and it wasn't even close to the level of care I received at Southland. As a relatively young patient, I was really concerned about recovering from a total shoulder replacement, especially at my age but the team here helped me recover the right way. Big shout out to Dr. Ian and all the other techs who helped me recover from my shoulder replacement. Just go here, you will be happy after it's done!

Fantastic experience: I injured my back and a close friend suggested I visit Southland Physical Therapy in Irvine. On that advice, I attended multiple sessions at this location, and I was thoroughly impressed. The front desk employees are courteous and truly help keep up with your scheduled physical therapy sessions- reminding the day before, printing schedules and day-of reminders. I worked with multiple physical therapists, including Fergie and Bao, both were amazing to work with and explained each step of my recovery. Fergie was exceptionally kind and knowledgeable about my back injury and designed a fantastic workout routine for me. Bao really challenged me to make the most of my time at Southland Physical Therapy by giving me workouts that ramped up in difficulty (gently) with time. All in all- I fully recommend Southland Physical Therapy in Irvine. Amazing place!

Fantastic experience: This place is the best place for PT. I was having pain for the past 6 months. Dr. Shanice came as a god sent doctor in my life. She is so nice. Within a few days of me visiting her my neck pain was gone. I highly recommend Dr. Shanice Lowe.

Fantastic experience: I think this place is the best place ever. I have been going for 4 weeks now, and I am 90 percent pain free. The PT's are so caring. Negative experience: Not happy with the service. Be careful with hidden charges. It was not clearly explained to me that insurance might not cover full office visit and I would need to pay additional payment on top of my copay to cover “free consultation”.

Fantastic experience: Progress report. I am reviewing Southland PT today with good news that the hard work is paying off. I am so thankful for the amazing professionals at what I consider the best physical therapy establishment one can ask for. The skill level is bar none. The care, compassion, knowledge, and kindness are so appreciated, and yes, my back is feeling much better. The team of Dr. Paul and Daniel on intake evaluation and treatment is simply amazing. These two men are miracle workers as they know the body and necessary healing techniques as well as recommended exercises. The entire team is worthy of mention, so here goes; Amanda, Kaitlyn, Zoe, Brenda, Dr. Fergie, Dr. Park, Jan Lei, Dr. Hodaie, Herman, Raymond, Jan Lla, and so many more amazing professionals. I have been so blessed to have such an amazing team of professionals in the field of physical therapy. I must say in my 62 years with many visits to physical therapy offices due to sports and related surgeries this is the only PT office I have been to where you have such highly trained doctors and therapists that not only help you recover and get back on the road to a healthy lifestyle but also who love what they do and it shows in the way they treat and care for each patient. I can't say enough, but if you need PT, look no further as you will be blessed with results. Highly recommended. Prior Visit A great place for physical therapy post surgery or for any other PT needs. After my shoulder surgery I was referred to Southland PT by Newport Orthopedic and have ongoing therapy twice a week. Dean my physical therapist and the rest of the team at Southland are very knowledgeable and skilled in rehabilitation physical therapy. I am quite thankful to have such caring and compassionate professionals working to get me back to full mobility and functionality. Highly recommended

Fantastic experience: Found through my husband, Came for ankle sprain, what pain. Skeptical at first. Time quickly flew by, Therapists and aides were great. Things got much better! Slowly became strong, Jazmin Kan is a wizard! Sad to say so long Haiku written from a former (and maybe current still) Crocs lover.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough great things about Southland PT and the team. Every week, I looked forward to my appointments. DPT: I had 10 visits with Dr Andrew Lee and every visit was enjoyable, productive and helpful in my recovery. Dr Andrew is kind, patient and attentive. He cares about the progress of his patients and makes sure to listen to any concerns you may have. With Dr. Andrew’s sense of humor and attention to patient care, I would recommend him to anyone in need of physical therapy. Southland PT Team/Staff: The constant warm welcomes from the receptionist area to the open floor area was very refreshing. Jackie, Christina and German were very helpful throughout my time at SLPT. Cleanliness: Initially I was worried about going to PT due to the unforeseen times we are facing. The team at SLPT is constantly wiping down tables and equipment. Everyone wears masks and patient temperature is taken during every visit. I felt very comfortable within the facility. If you need PT, this is the place to be!

Fantastic experience: I went to Southland PT for two months for shoulder pain due to posture. Dr. Andrew Hodge was very helpful and attentive to my needs. He communicated his plan in a very clear manner and always addressed any of my questions or concerns. The aides and office staff were also very friendly and made me feel welcomed during my visits. In the end I felt I had strengthened my body and pain went away.

Fantastic experience: Dr.Huang has helped me tremendously. I haven’t met a doctor that actually listens or advocates for his patients. I suffered from a lot of pain and with his help and treatment plan I have been able to recover each and every time. I highly recommend Dr. Huang .

Negative experience: I selected Southland as it had so many 5 stars. I am so sorry I ever stepped foot in the place. In early Oct 2019 I started working with Dr. Lane in Irvine. She wasn't the best PT, but by the end of the November I was doing quite well and ready to "graduate". On Dec 6, 19, I went in and Dr. Lane insisted on using the Hypervolt tool on my neck which she KNEW I didn't want her to use. It hurt so bad and I made her stop. Immediately I had pain in my neck and ear ringing unlike what I had before. Dr. Lane denied it could be the tool and said she had been overworking me in preparation on my leaving her care. I did not agree. After 6 visits and much agony through Christmas I knew she was wrong and I stopped seeing her. I wrote the co-owner of Southland, Dr. Lee, and Dr Lane a complaint and Dr. Lee called me. He apologized and said he would be glad to treat me until I was well. I had about 6 visits with Dr. Lee and was making decent progress when he turned me over to another PT, Dr. Cat. The first time I saw her I ended up in immense shoulder and neck pain due to incorrect exercises. I saw Dr. Cat 3 more times without much success. I wrote Dr. Lee a couple e-mails in hopes he would honor his word to me but he never responded. My MD asked me to stop all treatments with Southland and have an MRI (I already had X-ray prior to starting treatment) to determine what the searing pain in my ear was. Thanks to Dr. Lane, and her hyper volt device, I now have a bulging disc in my neck which is pressing on a nerve and causing immense pain even 5 months later. I would recommend you stay away from this place.

Fantastic experience: I I'm going to physical therapy because I had my knee replaced in January. This has been undoubtedly the best thing that has happened after years of pain. I actually went there before the therapy thinking that they need pain would lessen through physical therapy. Dr. Matt where's my PT at the time. He encouraged me to go ahead with the surgery and I am so glad I did. Now I am working with dr. Mike who who is helping me regain my strength and basically learn how to walk correctly and I am not in any pain. Thanks to everybody there I feel awesome.

Fantastic experience: I had a severe form of a frozen shoulder. I could hardly move my right arm and experienced daily pain in my right shoulder. My friend recommended that I seek help from Southland Physical Therapy. I went to see Dr. Matt Young. Dr. Young was very cordial and knowledgeable. Dr. Young had a systematic way to treat my frozen shoulder and encouraged me to do helpful exercises at home. His assistant Mr. Brian was very nice and knowledgeable as well. I noticed an improvement after the first three appointments with Dr. Young. After three months of Dr. Young's treatments, I could use my right hand again, and my shoulder pain has almost completely resolved. I feel fortunate that Dr. Young took care of my frozen shoulder. Dr. Young has many years of experience in physical therapy and is very friendly. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Matt Young to people seeking physical therapy for a frozen shoulder or other issues with pain and limited range of motion.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Becky was very thorough with explaining the programand the exercises. The key is she took time to show me on the computer and explain the body and how everything works. I understood it so much more and had a great time seeing the results. I would highly recommend this for all women for their pelivc floor.

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing and the staff really do care. Dr. Becky rules and totally helped me fix and control my physical issues. I'm an artist and 30 years of repetitive movement and tension were relieved as I was taught a number of exercises that over time which has improved my posture and overall ability to continue being and artist. Thanks to the entire staff including Kayla, Ryan and beware of Josh. An excellent experience for anyone in need of real physical therapy.
