In Illinois, it is no longer necessary to get a doctor's prescription in order to get insurance coverage for physical therapy. Therefore, people can now go directly to Brightmore PT (or any other licensed physical therapist) for their physical therapy needs.

In Illinois, Direct Access can be used by patients with certain health insurance plans, such as United Healthcare, Aetna, BCBS, and some Cigna plans. Medicare patients can receive an evaluation and the results will be sent to their doctor for review and signature.
