Westside Children's Therapy - Joliet

Negative experience: We informed the person in charge of this establishment, but no action was taken. As parents, we have a responsibility to ensure our children are treated with the utmost care and respect. If a place cannot accommodate a child's specific needs while allowing parental supervision, then it is best to find an alternative. No child should be left unattended in a situation like this. It's disheartening that this establishment failed to protect the child's well-being. As a parent witnessing this firsthand, I feel compelled to share this review. Our children deserve better.

Fantastic experience: My daughter went in for a speech evaluation today, and I can’t even put into words how excited me and her are for her to start speech. The clinic is so nice, the staff is warm and welcoming, and best part I was told right there at the evaluation what they’re game plan was and what the wanted to start working on with her! No waiting to hear back about “what’s wrong” with my child, no waiting to hear back about scheduling a session. Scheduling her next 2 sessions were done right there and then before we left the clinic. My daughter was saying see you soon to her therapist on our way to the car after only meeting and interacting for an hour. She can’t wait to go back and I love that for her!

Positive experience: Giving 3 stars because the therapists are wonderful but be warned their billing department is trash.. and you will get outstanding balances out of no where for services you weren't aware hadn't been covered. Again therapist are wonderful, billing is trash.

Fantastic experience: My son currently goes to Westside Children's Therapy in Frankfort. I love this place and am absolutely blessed we have found it. We have tried CBT and Counseling as well as other several techniques for my sons ADHD, We haven't had any success until we started to go to Westside Children's Therapy for EEG and OT. We continue to receive positive results both at home and at school. The staff is so friendly and they have a wonderful waiting/play area for my 3 year old daughter to play and not get bored during his appointment. There are rewards after the session which makes the kids feel great about what they have accomplished. The staff was very helpful when I had questions about insurance and had patience to answer all my questions about his treatment.

Fantastic experience: My daughter has had 3 separate rounds of treatment at Westside, 1 with Sherry and 2 with Lainey. Both therapists are excellent and made my daughter's experiences very positive. They both worked hard at truly understanding her needs and catering a plan to best meet our goals for her. I would definitely recommend Westside.

Fantastic experience: My son currently receives OT with Sarah, and he loves it there.

Fantastic experience: I have 2 kids that have been going there, one for PT and one for OT. Both therapists are outstanding, they really show a desire to help the kids and are willing to go the extra mile to make them feel comfortable. They are also accommodating with scheduling and knowledgable/ current in therapeutic interventions specific to the pediatric population. I would highly recommend Westside.

Fantastic experience: My son has received neurofeedback therapy Occupational Therapy at Westide. He still goes for O.T once a week and I cannot say enough about the facility or the staff! The therapist he works with is knowledgeable, approachable, and really knows my child. She also treats me, the mother, like I am the expert on my own child which is important since I spend the most time with him. My son loves going to his therapy day and we see a huge improvement in him since he started. I have the utmost appreciation and respect for the staff of Westside who all work respectfully with children and who are eager to help!

Fantastic experience: MY SON HAS BEEN RECEIVING ABA FOR 2 YEARS AND HE HAS THRIVED SO MUCH. HE ALSO RECEIVES OT AND ST. He has made a huge 360. I am extremely greatful. He loves his school he started at 3.5 years of age with no words, aggressive, tantrums crying etc. Now he is able to communicate his wants and needs. Like any child that doesn't get his way he cries but they don't last long. I was definitely scared but I took that leap of faith and it's really GREAT!! I am going to be forever greatful to EVERYONE that has worked directly with him.

Fantastic experience: My daughter absolutely loves her speech therapist, "my friend Jess". She wants to leave the house 2 hours early for our appointment and will cry when I tell her it's not time to leave yet. She's built such a trust and deep connection with her that she's willing to try and work hard with her - which is something the strong-willed independent kiddo won't do at home for us. So happy with our experience!

Fantastic experience: Our twins were preemies. We have been with Westside since they exited early intervention services. They are nearing High School now! Our kids look forward to seeing and working with their therapists. They are like an extension of our family. Just as they have seen our kids grow, we too have watched Westside grow. And although Westside has grown quite a bit, they have not lost sight of their initial purpose . . . helping kids and supporting their families. We are so grateful for Westside and their services!

Fantastic experience: Theses girls are amazing and they actually made me and Arabella comfortable and she was relaxed with them compared to her other therapists she’s had in the past. I’m glad my Dr. refer us to Westside Threapy! It was the best choice possible they could have sent us!

Fantastic experience: I have so many great things to say about West Side and the amazing staff there. Hearing that your child needs services may seem overwhelming at first but this staff helped soothe any anxiety I had. The providers communicate continuously throughout the appointments. I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough about Westside! Ashley and Gabby are so friendly and extremely on top of everything! Both of my children receive services there and they look forward to going and genuinely love their therapists, Amanda and Brian. They have made so much progress and I can’t imagine our lives without the support of Westside!

Fantastic experience: We have been going to Westside for at least 7 years. I have nothing but great things to say. I have learned more from Shari than all the doctors combined. She is a wealth of knowledge and truly cares about every kid in the clinic. Everyone there goes above and beyond for their clients. I highly recommend checking them out!

Positive experience: Very friendly staff, that do great work. However, the lobby area is small and can get congested during the appointment switch over times. Also the lobby area seriously needs some kind of sound dampening to bring the levels down. I have to sit in my car due to the loudness of the lobby.

The involvement and care shown by Brian to our daughter is refreshing and much appreciated. The progress she has made is amazing. We are so glad that we chose Westside and highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: My son is attending Westside since January 2018. He gets speech, occupational and aba therapy. He has improved so much and keeps improving!! The staff is amazing and very helpful. Thank you for everything that you guys do.

Fantastic experience: We love Westside!! Our son receives occupational and speech therapy once a week. He has been going for a couple of years and never complains! Even after a full day of school, he happily jumps in the car to go and see Mr. Brain or Ms. Shay. The progress has been outstanding.

All staff members are courteous and professional but at the same time approach all their clients with warmth and compassion. Fantastic experience: Westside Therapy has been our saving grace. The therapists are so very patient and kind. They take time to listen and explain. Always providing ideas and solutions to everything that comes our way. Trust, confidentiality, and hope is what they give. My son has a hard time trusting or feeling comfortable with just anyone. He does not hesitate to work with his therapists.

Fantastic experience: I love this clinic! They are so helpful with my son. The therapists and receptionists are kind and patient, they work with you to try to figure out a schedule best fitting to what your family needs. They do events and things that are fun! And inside they have so many different toys and activities they incorporate into therapy. Love it
