Well Park: Reviews
Negative experience: I have been placed on a "Do Not Return" list by this facility, despite never having visited the premises or worked in that area. This situation raises concerns regarding the facility's practices. I have not visited the Clarksville facility in several years since I reported concerns regarding COVID-19 within the building and the departure of their Director of Nursing. Given these circumstances, I am uncertain why the facility would anticipate my return to the site.
Shannon, This review is misplaced. Your situation is regarding AHC Clarksville, not AHC WellPark and Knoxville.
Fantastic experience: This place is amazing, the environment put me in a mindset of being in a cottage community. They have a City Park area with pretend stores for you to set at and wait your turn to do PT or OT Clean no nasty urine smells, clean up to date private rooms with large bathroom. I never thought I would have to have any help on recovery from any injury but I have and if I need it again I will request her first.P.S. good food and other services around the flock
Negative experience: This place is beautiful but ridiculously ran. The day nurses are awful. There’s no management on site and Jenifer the CNA is just plain RUDE and lazy. No disrespect but why hire an aide who’s also in a wheel chair and refuses to answer call lights without the help of said wheelchair if she answers them at all. When I asked her to speak wit a nurse she just said “I’m eating right now, you can go find her” like WHAT??!!! When I finally did get to a nurse she completely disregarded me
Negative experience: Beautiful facility HORRIBLE day nurses. Michelle is very condescending and arrogant as well as Kim. I feel sorry for any patient that is under their care. Good thing my family member is gone now! I’d NEVER refer anyone here. Neither of them know what they’re doing they put on a good ACT but that’s all it is.
Positive experience: I recently broke my leg. I had surgery with pins and plates being installed. I was in Well Park for about two weeks. I had a very good experience there. The food was really good, which was one of my concerns. The cooks were very accommodating. The nurses were thoughtful and they did a great job managing my medications; I take a lot for Asthma, Diabetes, Hypertension, and RA. I would name the nurses, but there were too many... suffice it to say they were consistently caring and good people. The day I arrived I was also met by Kelsey who did a great job understanding my needs. They all helped me a lot to get everything I needed including comfortable and clean... I was especially happy with the Physical Therapists that pushed me a bit to do exercises which helped me to build more upper body strength and also gave me the strength to move around my lower half without banging my leg. Sabrina, Ferman, and Nancy are top notch! Thanks Well Park for an excellent experience!
Negative experience: My family member has been there for three days without anyone getting her cleaned up or helping her to bathroom for hygiene. That is totally unacceptable! I was assured by the social worker that it would be done every morning. Update: They actually blamed it on my family member for her lack of care.
Fantastic experience: Great staff! Especially Sabrina, who helped me with my physical therapy.
Fantastic experience: The staff at Well Park was amazing, everyone was so nice and very helpful. My mom loved it there. She is going to miss the food for sure Brandon and Candy are amazing cooks every thing she had was delicious. I loved how Brandon came and talked to all the residents and made sure that they enjoyed there food. Mrs.Pearl was an absolute joy she was always so cheerful, singing to everyone. My mom will miss you guys.
Fantastic experience: I have been very pleased with the care that I received at WellPark after an automobile accident. I have nothing but good words to offer about my care from my nurses, Michelle, Tammy, Brandi, to my CNAs, Ruth and Katrina and the rest. They were all kind, helpful, caring and attentive. I can’t thank them enough. Brandon and Candy from dietary did a wonderful job with the foods which was always delicious. I had dietary restrictions that they tried hard to meet. WellPark has two jewels there and I can only hope they are well compensated. It’s not just the food for them but the patient as well. I had therapists who were excellent and who offered kindness along with good, strong therapy. I’m planning to do some outpatient therapy after I leave. The hallways in the facility are a huge plus for rehab. They are long and plentiful for walking and exercising. I’m sorry that others didn’t have the same experience that I have had but I leave with no complaints.
Fantastic experience: WellPark- treatment well done! Excellent care, therapy and food service. Quality facility with emphasis on good patient rehab outcomes
Fantastic experience: I went to the WellPark jn- patient rehabilitation center, which is part of Shanondale after my hip replacement surgery and again when I had new issues on my non-operated side. I have gone there after each of my joint replacements... 5 in all. I live alone and the success of my joint replacements rests quite significantly on my taking post surgical rehabilitation seriously. So by going here.. with wonderful staff and amazing food, I don't have to worry about driving to my rehab appts, nor fixing something to eat, or washing my clothes, etc. This is an amazing place , where you are both taken care of and helped to be made stronger.
Fantastic experience: I stayed 2 weeks at Wellpark, recovering from serious back surgery in May 2022. The nursing staff was competent and responsive. Nursing assistants were particularly caring and again, responsive to my needs. Resident physician and PA were helpful and accessible. The food was great! The rehab staff was competent and friendly and the facility is clean and safe. Highly recommend this facility.
Fantastic experience: My mother has been to 3 different rehab facilities and this one is by FAR the best. The others we had terrible experiences at. Well park is clean, the staff is friendly and stays on top of patient care. Great experience
Negative experience: I used shannondale for rehab. I leave a one star rating due to one particular physical therapist. I had at least one session with six different therapists. 5/6 of these therapists were great. The other one was awful enough to result in this poor rating. I had him for approximately half of my sessions, maybe a little less. He was often obnoxious and rude, but I overlooked that for the most part. He, along with another particular therapist (who was actually fine when I had him), would often be making fun of other patients and therapists right in front of me. For the more serious matters - I felt a sharp pain when he was stretching me and I tried to tap out of the stretch. He ignored me and kept stretching. I then verbally told him to stop and he ignored me. This was the only time I ever requested a therapist to stop stretching me so it wasn't like I was trying to slack. Regardless, you should be able to trust your therapist. The worst thing he did was lie to my surgeon. He told my surgeon that I was the laziest patient he had ever had. I can only presume this was done in retaliation as he called my surgeon's office (or they called him) after I decided to finish PT at a different place. He is the only negative to this place. It looks great inside, has great equipment, and all the other therapists were great and very friendly. He is a big burly guy. If you can avoid him, this place is fine, but the boss there seems think highly of him, which is odd.
Fantastic experience: WellPark, Carrie Mills, is the Best!! Im so glad I had her, for my therapy, she knows her field , she is very informed, kind, patient, Always An Encouragement, excited to see the progress the patient makes, treats you like family, there is simply no one better .Carrie Mills remember that name !! review by Teresa Comer
Fantastic experience: Well-Park therapist are wonderful! Bryan and Chris worked with me on balance and strength. I was in outpatient therapy with them for several weeks. When my therapy was completed, they set up an outpatient Wellness program for me. They also set up a Wellness program for my husband. We are now exercising three times a week and both feel much better. Thank you Bryan and Chris.
Fantastic experience: My mother just completed a 3 week stay at Well Park. We were very pleased with the facility itself, the staff, the nursing care, and the food. The atmosphere is peaceful, quiet, and conducive to healing. The grounds are lovely, there is a flower garden and an outdoor patio which we enjoyed. There is a theater room in which mom and her friend watched a dvd and had lunch together. There is a Mayfield’s ice cream cooler fully stocked and available to all patients and their families. There are therapy dogs available most days at one’s request. The nurses and CNAs were professional, compassionate, and friendly. One of mom’s night CNA’s even gave mom a middle of the night foot rub when foot cramps woke her up. We never had to wait for a response when using the call button. Having come to Well Park directly from the hospital where you could wait for an extended time to be taken care of, met with disdain when asked for help bathing, and were generally at the mercy of a very much overworked nursing staff, this experience was wonderful! The therapy staff were excellent and mom’s progress was amazing to witness. Again, very professional and friendly. The Case Manager explained all details of billing and insurance, lined up the equipment mom needed for home, gave us much information about home health care and even gave mom a hug when we were discharged. The food was good and the only drawback was lack of variety of fresh fruit. Overall our experience was excellent.
Fantastic experience: I was in wellpark for a knee injury and heart issues. The accomodations were first rate, everything was kept spotless. The meals were delicious and customized if i needed. The CNA's were kind. helpful and efficient. The therapists knew when to push and when not to and were much fun. I hope never to need to do so, but would go back.
Negative experience: I recently had a family member need short term rehabilitation and we couldn’t get into our first pick of NHC Farragut due to availability. Wellpark was suggested by the hospital. I read reviews which had some good and some bad but I thought we’d give it a try. We arrived and the place was gorgeous, truly a state of the art facility. She had an amazing group of physical therapists. Unfortunately, the issues in the bad reviews matched a lot of the issues we had. On a few occasions, they forgot to serve her lunch and dinner trays. She would have to ask for them even though they came in and got her requests. Had issues with them helping her get a good clean shower as well as cleaning her restroom. While they have several wonderful nurses and CNA staff, they also have several that give them a bad reputation by getting hateful and rude with the patients and just plain laziness. On several occasions, the staff would come in and be texting on their phones while caring for her or be out and about eating their chick fil a at the nurses station(OSHA violation). She became very ill while there in which she called me not their nursing staff(they had no idea she was sick), I checked her out and brought her to the closest ER(without them offering any assistance)and is now admitted to the hospital with flu and low sodium(as mentioned in another review). I definitely would not recommend this facility without them making some serious changes within their staff. It would be a shame for such a beautiful facility to close due to lack of direct supervision.
Negative experience: It looks great. However, my mother was publicly shamed by physical therapist and made to leave early due to his reports. Don’t let the aesthetics fool you.
Negative experience: The therapist are great but the nursing and food staff are incompetent. The food staff completely disregarded my mother’s dietary restrictions and FORGOT to bring her meal three times in one week. The nursing staff almost allowed her to go into a coma due to low sodium. We had to call an ambulance and take her to the ER. They lost her blood work twice and refuse to take any responsibility for their actions. I do not recommend this place and do not see them as a five star facility.
Fantastic experience: I have been treated with the utmost respect and care. Every time I have asked for something, the staff has gotten it for me. I am here because of a knee replacement. The food is good and you can order your preferences from a menu. If anyone thinks staff is rude, they must be rude to the staff. They are here to provide nursing care, not to be your servant.
Negative experience: NURSES HOUSE MANAGERS AND CNAS ARE RUDE YOU TRY TO EXPLAIN YOURSELF AND THEY TALK OVER YOU AND ACT LIKE YOU ARE A NOBODY. FAMILY MEMBER FELL DUE TO LACK OF SUPPORT WE WAS TOLD IT WAS A NO LIFT ZONE WELL IF YOU HAVE A COMPLETE KNEE SURGERY YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PUT ALOT OF PRESSURE ON THE KNEE. TOLD HIM HE WAS IN THE WRONG FOR CURSING HE CURSED DUE TO THE SITUATION NOT THE NURSE SURE HE WAS UPSET THAT THE NURSE WOULD NOT GET HELP. HE IS A BIGGER GUY SO HE DOES NEED 2 NURSES TO ASSIST AND HE ASKED FOR HER TO GET HELP SHE IGNORED HIM SAID COME ON AND THAN HE FELL. THEY WERE RUDE FROM DAY ONE AND ACTED LIKE THEY WERE OVER WORKED AND HATED THEIR JOBS. THE RN TOLD US THAT OUR FAMILY MEMBER WAS A LIER AND THEY DID NOT FEEL SAFE AROUND HIM. NO NURSE SHOULD EVER SAY THAT WHEN WE CALL TO ASK WHY WE WAS NOT CALLED WHEN THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED AND SHE SAID LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT YOUR FAMILY MEMBER HE IS RUDE HATEFUL AND IS LIEING BECAUSE HE NEVER MADE IT TO THE BATHROOM TO HAVE EVEN FELL IN THE BATHROOM. SHE RAISED HER VOICE AND WAS OVER TALKING US WHEN TRYING OVER THE PHONE GET AN ANSWER AND IN THE SAME CALL SHE SAID WHEN THE CNA CAME FROM THE ROOM AND GOT ME I WENT BACK IN THE ROOM AND SOME HOW HE HAD MADE IT FROM THE BATHROOM BACK TO HIS BED BY HIMSELF.........HOLD ON SHE JUST SAID HE NEVER MADE IT TO THE BATHROOM BUT NOW NOT SURE HOW HE MADE IT FROM THE BATHROOM BACK TO HIS BED......WENT IN FOR A MEETING AND NOW HE WAS CURSING CALLING PEOPLE NAMES SPITTING ON THEM THROWING A WALKER.....WELL THIS WAS NOT BROUGHT UP IN THE FIRST MEETING NOR THE PHONE CALL IT WAS A DIFFERENT STORY NOW TONIGHT ANOTHER INCIDENT AND THE BLAME IS ON HIM AGAIN STILL NO PHONE CALL AND THE NURSES ARE RUDE OVER TALKING YOU AND NOW THE FIRST INCIDENT NO ONE SAID THAT HE SPIT ON ANYONE BUT HE CURSED THEM........RANT OVER I WOILD NOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE I WOULD HAVE GIVEN THEM A NEGATIVE 10 STARS IF I COULD HAVE
Negative experience: I spent 13 days there after double knee replacement and regret going there. Nurses for the most part are rude and uncaring. Most should have retired. My wife had to wait while one finished reviewing their Facebook pictures. At night nurse call button alert would run for minutes before being answered. Alarm can be heard in my room all night. Food is just awful. PT is okay. Dr on "duty" is usually unavailable as it took 2 days to changer my pain meds when oxicontent didn't work. Once switch was made pain was reduced bt 60-80%.
Negative experience: Nurses are sooooo rude they treat the patient like a slave not helpful at all the best thing there the therapist and cleaning staff
