Fantastic experience: My Grandmother Linda Borowiak died yesterday morning. She was like a mom to us grand daughters. This place took care of her for her last few months. Thank you NHC nurses and staff for everything you did for her the nurse that awnsered the phone while I was panicking had so much compassion and was comforting. I’ll never heal from the pain but the comfort helped

Fantastic experience: That is a great place I cried when I was told I had to go there and was taken and took there at about 10:30 at night and was scared to death but the staff was awesome and the scare was all gone in about 30min.the 2 Natalie's on the night shift took the scare all away so if you rehab.that is where you need to check on .you need to call them directly the hospital at tennova tries to go elsewhere

Fantastic experience: Absolutely the most amazing place! The nursing staff truly care about the residents. The residents appear happy and content. It's such a homelike, friendly environment. Come visit and see for yourself!

Negative experience: I was transferred to this facility right before covid hit. January 2020 for rehab on a broken hip. I stayed approximately twelve days before I felt okay to leave. Now it's three years later I have stage four COPD and am on hospice. They refused my admission saying I smoked while I was there. 1) I didn't even smoke at the time. Six months clean, not to mention I was barely able to walk, had just came from U.T. hospital for over a week from the surgery and was diagnosed with copd, used a bed pan and nurses and cnas were in my room constantly. My roommate however, her son and family would come up and smoke in our bathroom. I told staff several times. She would even beg me for my pain meds when she said her son couldn't find any. I will never forget her. Her name was Dixie. She too had a broke hip but was able to go to the rest room on her own. I left before her so I'm not sure what happened or why they are accusing me of these wrong doings. This is the closest facility to my home so my family can visit. There was nothing special about this location. It was old and run down but homey. The food was excellent and most of the staff were nice. Especially the rehab staff. Anyway my point is the location is by the old st. Mary's hospital and they have accused me of my roommates wrongdoings three years later. They even tried to get me to stay another week and I was hugged by many on my way out. This does not sound like something they would do if they thought I was breaking rules. I don't understand and they refuse to speak with me about it. I'm just looking for a place close to family to live the last few months of my life. So beware that others have been lied about and treated poorly if your considering sending a hospice patient here or even for rehab. Btw my hip never healed fully. That was a botched surgery, not the fault of nhc. It would be nice of them to contact me and let me know why they don't want me as a patient for a few months until I pass. Just a heads up and beware. Oh, one other thing that may very well be the problem. I caught 2 of my nurses trying to take my pain meds from me and give me something else. It was one at work there the first day and another who had just came back to work after taking time off. I went to the floor head nurse each time but I don't know what if anything was done. Perhaps that's what got me red flagged from there. But there is nothing wrong with my mind or memory so I remember this well. I sure wish they would be adults about this and tell me to my face what exactly the problem is.

Negative experience: IF there were enough nursing staff that enjoyed and did their jobs it would be better. Administration however has a history of covering up or simply not reporting accidents, medication mixup, obvious neglect and abuse.

Positive experience: Understaffed!

Positive experience: Needs Maintenance, and needs to be cleaner first impressions mean a lot. Mom loved their Physical Therapy and that’s the reason I gave them 3 star review if their wasn’t other factors I would have gave them more

Negative experience: They treat their staff very poorly which impacts residents.

Positive experience: My mom is in there and at first the nurses was not treating her well and I spook up and things got better for her and she even likes some of they. Great place but they will try you just to see if they can

Positive experience: Good all around experience. In two weeks I was ready to go home to continue my Physical Therapy. The Physical Therapy I received was excellent.

Fantastic experience: My Mom was in NHC for 20 days and the staff was awesome. They took great care of her and listened to my concerns. They were patient with her and really cared about getting her better.

Negative experience: My mother was a patient there and she received wonderful care. The nurses were wonderful. I hope others would check this place out. It's a great place.

Negative experience: Stayed the night with my boyfriend and he is still in lots of pain. Well anyways meds were never given on time. Almost an hour late. Be sure to ask an hour ahead of time. That's how late they were. Room was clesn.
