Fantastic experience: As someone who has been to physical therapy for numerous injuries and complications, I have had multiple PT experiences. For my most recent surgery, I was suggested to try Ascend for my pt while at school. After 4 months of pt, I can confidently say Ascend is without a doubt the best physical therapy experience I have had. I work with Beth who undoubtably cares about her patients deeper than surface level. She has discovered and worked to resolve issues that I had long standing and never acknowledged. While I am still in recovery, I am astounded at its pace and success. I would highly suggest Ascend to anyone in the Lansing or surrounding areas.

Fantastic experience: such a friendly, competent facility! good listeners, positive and excellent knowledge of the body's needs.

Negative experience: Terrible experience. Once you visit, you'll keep receiving their ads forever, no matter if you unsubscribe from their emails or block their email address. On top of that, I kept receiving bills for six months even after my service had ended. If you want a ghost in your email and mail box, go for it.

Fantastic experience: My experience at Ascend was absolutely wonderful (despite having to go there for not so wonderful reasons). I was referred to Beth by the husband of one of my coworkers (and he’s a PT so you know his recommendation is good!). Beth was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and encouraging. She quickly helped me identify the key issues leading to my pain and was able to offer me a wide variety of exercises and stretches to help me meet my goals. I feel so much stronger and confident returning to my running program. The rest of the team at Ascend were equally as wonderful. Francesca was always friendly and welcoming, and she was able to answer my scheduling and billing questions easily. The clinic is inviting and makes you feel like you’re the main focus. Overall, I highly recommend Ascend and will definitely be sharing this recommendation with family and friends!!

Fantastic experience: I have a condition that can make it hard to work on my leg. Alyssa knows the problem and works with me to help improve my knee strength w/o causing more issues. My back is also improving and wow my stability is amazing compared to what it was. Friends and family see it every day. I highly recommend the team here. Especially if you want one to one care. It’s amazing the difference between this group and the very large hospital Physical therapy I have used in the past. The smiles start as soon as you walk in the door and end after you walk out. I forgot to mention I contacted 4 other Physical Therapy centers and asked if anyone knew the issues of CRPS/RSD and none of them called me back. The first half of this post never got posted so a update. Alyssa did a wonderful job and I managed to achieve my goal of hiking to waterfalls in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan this past summer. I am now back to see Alyssa for my neck. I have noticed a lot of pain and lack of mobility. She Is finding every area that hurts and has me strengthening the neck and gaining more mobility. I can not speak highly enough about the full staff. Everyone knows your name and is there to help where needed.

Fantastic experience: I've been impressed by my physical therapy received at Ascend Physical Therapy! I've been in and out of PT frequently for various injuries and frequently move for my job so I've worked with many different physical therapists. I've seen the fastest results after working with them for only a month and the rehab is tailored to individual needs vs a "cookie cutter" approach for my specific injury. They are very attentive during the sessions. I've had other physical therapists give the directions then walk away without making sure I maintain the proper form/technique, they make sure you do it right the whole time. They also keep me fully engaged for my entire appointment versus standing around waiting for the next exercise. They've been very accommodating with scheduling, which is great with helping me be compliant and still meet the demands of my work schedule. I highly recommend them!

Fantastic experience: Ascend PT helped me with my arthritic knees! I have been to other facilities wherein the place is so busy, one’s treatment is like being in an assembly line. Beth and Alexis know patients personally and taper their program according to one’s needs and how my knees are feeling. Fantastic experience: Ascend Physical Therapy is a positive place for healing! The atmosphere is tranquil and the gentle hands-on therapeutic approach guided by Beth Barrie is excellent. The ability to view your homework assignments online after you leave the facility is extremely helpful! Although I have been to other Physical Therapists over the years, Beth’s approach to putting the puzzle pieces together to come up with a treatment plan is gentle and effective.

Fantastic experience: I decided to book an appointment with Ascend after suffering a back injury that left me unable to perform the daily life tasks I was otherwise used to. My prior experience with PT clinics has been mixed. However, Ascend Physical Therapy has been phenomenal in helping me to recover in a shorter time than I ever would have expected! Fantastic experience: I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome so I have a hard time with PT. I was getting into trouble pushing through, they would put me in the gym at other places and say do this on a hand bike 5-15 minutes, throwing my shoulder out. EDS we have subsuxlations partial dislocations was very painful, it would take me days to recover. I’ve been a patient in the pain clinic a very long time for various reasons never going back. I’ve known Dr. Beth since 2007. I used to hate PT, yet she believes in me and I’ve come so far! I’m thankful to her and the staff for helping me maintain stability which is paramount for me

Positive experience: Been coming here for months. I've spent years in PT and this is the first place who actually realized what I needed and has made an actual difference in my quality of life. Editing my review. After my pt assistant left they had a hard time getting me in. I called several times and left messages and they never responded. My treatment was not complete. Disappointing.

When I saw Beth Barrie’s commercial for Ascend one day at the pain clinic I asked my doctor to send me to Beth. Beth and her team scheduled my appointments in a timely matter, Alyssa was very helpful to me with scheduling and other questions. I can say that I worked with everyone there, they’re very focused on me being a Zebra and kept telling me to not over due, breathe, I had anxiety with PT, it was obvious. What is different this time? They were very good and thorough on focusing on other parts that were causing my burning and blinding occipital nerve pain, my thoracic spine I have scoliosis and my lower back. We did a lot of stabilization work. Lots different than just pumping out reps. My support muscles in my neck had gone on vacation and Beth and her team did a phenomenal job in teaching me, being so very patient, asking me questions through the process what am I feeling, if there is any discomfort I am doing it too much. I fell a few times recently and the health of my balance became paramount. We touched on this as well. Overall I’m at 100% better, my range of motion while driving is amazing. I still have some pain in my face from those nerves, however it’s very dull compared to white hot excruciating pain all day and night. I’m very grateful to Beth for putting together a great team to help me have less pain, EDS is very painful and so I’m so grateful that I was able to graduate with honors and feel pride in the hard work I did because they taught me why this is so important to do. Thankful!

She knows just what the body needs to heal. I have requested her services stretching over a ten year period. I knew she was the best when my Primary Care Physician chose her as well!

Fantastic experience: My experience at Ascend has been very different from other PT clinics I’ve been to…rather than watching patients exercise, the care at Ascend is nearly all hands-on manipulation. Beth listens and hones in on the root of the problem. Alyssa makes it easy to schedule appointments and coordinate with insurance. If you’re looking for excellent hands-on physical therapy, Ascend would be an excellent choice.

After going undiagnosed for 2 years, I didn’t think anyone could help me, but Beth listened to me and came up with the best healing plan for me. Fantastic experience: I share this review somewhat reluctantly because I like being able to schedule Beth Barrie when I hurt myself. Ascend PTR is a great place for Beth to practice. The office is very clean and always professional but still very welcoming and friendly. Alisa, the front end of Ascend, is excellent at working with you to get you the help you need. Beth has repaired me multiple times over the years and what I like best is she gives you the tools to keep yourself healthy. I would follow her anywhere and the fact that she is at a place like Ascend now is a perfect marriage for keeping an older guy healthy!
