Lubbock Hospitality Nursing and Rehabilitation Center: Reviews
Fantastic experience: ❤️
Negative experience: Horrible place wouldn’t even send my dog there so many problems understaffed the best part of that place was therapy and the bus driver other than that that place was trash. I do not recommend it to anyone if you love your family. Do not put them there.
Negative experience: I would never leave my family members here just look on Medicare page the fail everything wrong medication being put out
Negative experience: I would never leave my family members here just look on Medicare page the fail everything wrong medication being put out
Negative experience: Care to explain yourselves before I turn yall in to the health department?
Negative experience: Awful horrible place do not put your loved ones here you will regret it ! Take my word for it run
Negative experience: I’ve only heard bad things about this place, not sure why it’s still up and running with rats and no care for residents?? People need to be taken care of and this does not seem to be the place.
Negative experience: I would not recommend placing a loved one in this facility. I worked here as a nurse for five months, and it is the most unprofessional and poorly managed place I have encountered in my nursing career. If I could give it zero stars, I would !
Negative experience: It was like staying at one of the sleaziest hotels in lubbock
Negative experience: We put our son in that nursing home cause it was recommended at first it was good then it started to get bad same cloth for five day long story short after being there ten months one of the nurses found him unresponsive as a result of that he passed away do not recommend this place to anyone
Fantastic experience: My grandmother is a resident here. I appreciate the staff that are showing up and doing the best they can. A lot of places including hospitals are understaffed right now. I like that they keep the access to the center locked. Staff have to let you in and out, so they can screen you for COVID, take your temp and give you a mask. The center is not perfect, but my grandmother is getting the care she needs. She has utilized the therapy services there and she is participating when previously she refused. We enjoy the IN2L technology that they have as well as the pets. They have a dog that visits weekly and a collection of cats in the courtyard. The center is clean, they have new flooring that was installed. It is bright and really makes the hall look not so dark. Her doctor has a NP that rounds weekly, and my grandmother is on their chronic conditions' services. She communicates with me regularly. My grandmother's doctor actually rounds once a month. I love this, because most don't come to the nursing homes to see patients. They just send the NPs. They have a dentist and podiatrist that visit the center.
Negative experience: My brother was there. He had a catheter which was not serviced or changed and got a very bad infection from it . He is in the hospital on iv antibiotics. Also his bottom was raw because they did not turn him.
Fantastic experience: Welcoming and caring staff, it’s a great environment.

Fantastic experience: The residents here are great. Many of them don't have family and I've become that for them. They keep me on my toes and are a joy to take care of. On days when I'm having a bad day and I'm at work it's always a few of the residents that end up making my day brighter.

There are staff working there that have been on staff for over 25 years so that says a great deal about the dedication and caring hearts that work there! ❤️❤️

Negative experience: Please do not put your loved one here. I had my dad in here this month for 11 days and was not able to speak with but one time. There was a young lady named Megan who helped me reach my dad to make it possible for to talk to. The other times I called no one would answer and if I did I got people in the office answering saying they can’t help me are picking up the phone and hanging up on me. I had to call the police department to do a welfare check on him cause I could not reach him on his phone are no one would answer and the dispatcher could not reach no one eaither. When my dad was discharged on the 10th they tried to say he didn’t need oxygen and had him walk to the car with nine and he almost passed out. On the way home he told me he didn’t have a shower at all until the day before he came home they didn’t even give him his breathing treatments that he was suppose to have are but him in his bi pap the dr order he was home for a week and half and already ended up back in the hospital again and has been in there for a week on Tuesday. Please don’t put ur loved in in there they do not care about them at al. My dad was stuck in a room with tv are working sink for the whole time he was there. I understand about covid and quarantine but that was not a way to treat someone. They also sent him home with his central line in and the dressing was still dated from the day he was discharged from the hospital. I am a healthcare worker and I treat all my patients the way I would want my loved one to be treated and from are experience here they don’t care it just a paycheck if you love your loved don’t put them here it horrible care I would rate as a “0” if I was able to. My heart goes out to the resident in there I pray for them everyday that god would protect them from harm way

Negative experience: If I could post without checking any stars, I would. Please, DO NOT place your loved one in this facility, SERIOUSLY! After my husband passed 10 days ago, I still have not gotten all of his personal items. I bought a 22" TV for him. Even asked the social worker a couple of times over the phone if the maintenance man set it up yet. I saw the box through the window on a window visit. Now they are saying that staff said they never saw a TV or a box. He also had a Wolf Blanket that I gave to him. I also saw that on the bed in his room. It is gone now too! My husbands wedding ring did not make it to the medical examiner. I have not received all of his clothes back, a bunch of them. Liars and thieves. There is more to the story but I am not able to comment on all of their dastardly deeds. Please, stay away from this place.
Hi Ms. Katherine — Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. We sincerely apologize for what has taken place and resulted in a negative experience. We would like the opportunity to speak with you and resolve your concerns. Please contact our Compliance Department at 866-687-5250. Thank you.
Negative experience: I’ve been a resident here for over 3 years. It was a nice place in the beginning, but now, not so much. I’m not cared for much, wake up laying in a soaked bed, linens, gown, brief and all. They change me and the linens but only dry the mattress with a towel and make the bed up with clean linens. Mattress needs sterilized with a cleaner not my air freshener! The day crew seems lost and confused (aides don’t seem to be educated for their job) the nurse (Starla) knows what’s going on , she’s great but only one person. The 2-10 shift isn’t real friendly. All business and rushed at all times. Only 2 aides per shift, that’s not good for us all. There’s been several med aides that are young and have a I don’t care attitude It’s frustrating! Those are the ones who don’t seem to know anything. You can tell they’re here for the paycheck. And they’re young, I mean real young. Maybe 21-23. It’s hard for me not to acknowledge this, I was an office manager in the medical field, GP and Urology. Lots of girls worked under my supervision. Really great staff but as we both know, too many women together ends up complicated. There’s a large turn around come and leave quick. Some only stay for a week or two. Then there’s the lack of getting showers. I’m suppose to be on the schedule for Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It’s been almost a full week now. I feel like I smell like an outhouse! Also, there’s the food (or what they call food) it’s bad and repetitive. Seems like we get the same things over and over again. I’m told we have a new Administrator and I’m not sure who the director of nursing is, that position seems to have a revolving door as well. I’m not elderly, just 57 and they have placed me with the worst roommate now whose 87. I’ve had several, first one died right here in the room with me (heart attack). Second moved to another facility, her family was not happy with this facility. She came from ranch money, knew one of her family members, I use to ride barrel horses (train them also) so did that family member. Then there’s my current roommate, lord help me, she has really bad dementia. Says hello 5+ times several times a day. Tells me what she’s doing at all times. Also tells me what she needs. Expects me to speak for her instead of doing it herself. She acts like she’s been abused in her past. She’s told me her late husband held a gun on her one time. She doesn’t sleep, but then she starts talking in her sleep. Something needs to change drastically or my husband will look for another facility to place me. We live an hour away. I’ve not seen my husband since March of this year. This COVID is so bad for some of us, these lockdowns are terrible for those of us stuck in here. I’m hopeful that some of these issues will be addressed otherwise we will continue else where. Thank you, Tresa Hart

Fantastic experience: Staff is amazing and more caring than some of the others in town. Had a patient I needed placed and needed dialysis. Lubbock hospitality took the challenge and offered onsite dialysis services. The need of resident is changing and Lubbock hospitality is setting the new standard of services for Lubbock and the surrounding area.
Hi Shanileigh -- -- Thank you for sharing. We are committed to providing the best care and resources to our residents, family, staff, and community.
Fantastic experience: From the moment you walk in the door you can tell they care about their residents. The staff was friendly and professional going out of their way to answer ever question I had. The rooms are amazing! There is little here that resembles a typical nursing home. Kuddos to Andrew, the administrator; he went out of his way to make us feel at home.

Negative experience: Terrible place. I tried to call a friend to wish merry Christmas and an employee threated to call the police for me.

Fantastic experience: I’m so proud of this building, I’ve been here as the administrator since August last year. This is the best staff I’ve ever had the chance to work with and they truly care about all the residents as if they were their own parents. Come on by if you’re looking for a place to help with your loved ones and we’ll be honored to give you a tour so you can see the Lubbock hospitality difference!

Positive experience: My sister was very happy at Lubbock Hospitaity house. The nursing, cafeteria, cleaning staff and the PT team were great. Every time I visited my sister everybody had a positive outlook even the residents. Thanks to Andrew, the administrator, Pat, Lauren, Jamie the nurses and I cant think of all of the other nurses names the pt guys Matt and Mike, also Michael who seemed to be everywhere was very helpful. Thanks to all, the sisters of Doris really appreciate your kindness. Lavona one of 5 sisters.

Fantastic experience: The nurses and staff at Lubbock Hospitality took great care of my granddad in the last few months of his life. It’s a difficult yet beautiful part of life transitioning to death, and these fine people were kind and gave my granddad the dignity he deserved.
Thank you Erin for your kind rating and review. We desire to provide the best care and resources to our residents, family, staff, and community. Please let us know how we can assist you further.
Negative experience: My Dad spent 4 days at Lubbock Hospitality and was wearing the same clothes when Mom picked him up as when she dropped him off. He had dried blood on his shirt from a couple of cuts on his arm, no telling when it happened because no one took enough time to check on him and clean him up. The director denied that he got the cut during his visit. He basically called my Mom a liar by saying "I don't know what I'm supposed to do about it". Kindred Hospice recommended this place and we did tell them of our experience, hopefully they will heed our warnings. Also, Google needs to be made aware that one of the 5 star ratings is from the administrator, once they find out they'll delete the review.

Negative experience: This place is TERRIBLE!! It started with that they don't have phones in the rooms, so if you want to call your loved one, you have to get a nurse on the phone to go get them and take them to a phone to be able to talk to you. It also makes it difficult for them to be able to call you. That seems very sketchy to me. Add to that trying to call after 5 is very difficult to get ANYBODY on the phone. The whole place smells of urine. That's a good indicator that people aren't being changed when needed. My grandmother was brought there for rehab after leaving the hospital. She has severe COPD. I called and talked to the nurses every day to check on her status. 4 days after being there, I find out from a friend that visited her that she has pneumonia, and that they diagnosed her with it 4 days before. I then called the nurse and she confirmed. They diagnosed her with it on a Friday, but didn't start antibiotics until monday. 3 DAYS LATER!!! WTH!!! That could be deadly for someone with severe COPD. Over that same weekend the nurse tells me that they think that she might have a UTI and they are going to test for it. I ask on Monday for the results and they said they don't have lab services on the weekend(seriously??) and won't have the results until Tuesday or Wednesday, at which point it will have been untreated for at least 4-5 days. An UTI in an elderly person can turn into sepsis which in also deadly. On Tuesday I demanded that she be sent to the hospital. They said that were able to treat all of her conditions there. I said obviously you cant'. They sent her back to the hospital where they admitted her and it was confirmed that she had pneumonia, a UTI, and very high CO2 levels. That place is a death trap!! Stay away!!
Hi Kirsten - We truly apologize for any experiences that you've encountered that didn't meet your expectations. We've since made many changes to our center amenities and care policies. Please contact Andrew, our Administrator - he is willing to help resolve any concerns or issues promptly. He can be reached at (806) 797 3481. We look forward to hearing from you!
Negative experience: The rooms on the website look nothing like the rooms my family member is in. Front door has been under construction several months it’s hard to get in. The rooms are not clean no soap in the dispensers. Staff does attend to patients needs at all times. If your love one is there would you want that kind of care.
Negative experience: OUTSIDE AREA The Front Door is not accessible for emergencies or emergency vehicles and convenience. This is an inconvenience to have family or staff entering through the back door. This area has been under Construction for 5 months. Why is the outdoor area not repaired? ROOMS Not Sanitized Rooms Not Cleaned Floors Not Swept or Mopped Daily Dirty Used and Soiled Towels Left on the Floor Dirty Odors throughout Rooms and the Facility No Clean or Fresh Smells Rooms left Unkept (Items Thrown Wherever It Lands) Checked Sanitizer Dispensers in Hallway and there is NO Sanitizer available Furniture Beat Up and Outdated Limited Space in Rooms Rooms are not cleaned daily PATIENT CARE Limited Staffing Patients having to wait lengthy time for request Bedside Toilet Not Emptied Immediately after use (Standing Feces In the Pot)
Positive experience: Great people, who love the Lord with kindness to others
Negative experience: Went to visit my mom there, first of all, I walked in, and the alarm went off. No one attended the alarm or to see if anyone had gotten out. My mom is ALWAYS getting "hurt" in some way, and no one there seems to know how. They are negligent, and all they care about is the money that comes in due to your loved one living there. I was hesitant to say anything, but when your elderly loved one continues to get hurt, sometimes you have to wonder, why are you paying for these people to watch them, if they aren't doing their job? So, if this continues, I'll give it two more days before this so called care facility takes care of business, and if it's not rectified, I will take this to D.A.D.S
