Fantastic experience: The admin and clinical staff are attentive and communicative with patients and families. The facility is well kept inside and out. The residents are engaged with each other and staff. Would highly recommend as it’s been a great place for my father!

Fantastic experience: Big Shout Out!! To the adminiatrator,social services & the lady in medical records. They are very dedicated to their job and welcomed me with open arms.

Negative experience: This place is dirty and the nurses on the night shift are terribly rude and make the visits here very hard to deal with. Negative racist nurses at night time. They ignore the patients and the patients family's needs.

Negative experience: If it was at all possible to give zero stars I would. My mother is here to get therapy so she can get better...she is not able to walk, feed herself or go to the bathroom. Instead of watching and making sure she's OK I find her laying in her own Feces . You tell the staff you need help and they say sure I'll be there in a minute..yet they continue to stay seated watching shows or videos on their cell phones. She isn't able to feed herself , yet they dump her tray on the table and leave.They are short staffed and the employees are just here to collect a paycheck. The rooms and bathrooms are filthy. The facility is definitely older and in need of upgrades, but if they actually cleaned up it wouldn't matter. State needs to come in and investigate this situation. Totally unacceptable the way it is run and how little regard to the people here is given.

Fantastic experience: I have been a employee at Mesquite Tree for about 10 months and it has been a joy. Caring for residents in a nursing facility requires for you to be passionate and also a good team member and that is what is giving here at Mesquite Tree. I look forward to coming to work each day to see the residents smile or to assistant them anyway I can to keep them happy on this journey. I work with some of the best staff you could ask for, the administrator, nurses and other facility staff. I look forward to continuing my journey here and I'm so excited on what the future holds for the Mesquite Tree Family (residents, staff).

Negative experience: Please don't send anyone you care about here these folks are rude and wouldn't even provide the correct social security number to the funeral home when she passed away and by doing that it's taking longer to cremated my mom. I think there's some fraud going on over there. They are rude tho and when I went to see my mom she never had a clean pamper on. Most of the time it looked like she wore the same one for a day or two then they had to get her changed

Fantastic experience: I met the Social Worker Carlon Ruffin, who is very compassionate about the residents she serves. Ms. Ruffin was very helpful and took out the time to assist me when my husband expired. She went beyond and above during his departure. I truly appreciate her patience and the love she spreads around! Her presence is definitely a blessing!

Fantastic experience: I am a new employee here. Mesquite Tree is home away from home. I can truly say that I am called and chosen to work at Mesquite Tree. I love the residents and their radiant smiles always illuminate my day. When I am talking to a resident or providing assistance, I think of my mother and the golden rule “Treat Others The Way You Want To Be Treated”. I hope I impart as much joy and zeal in their hearts as they do in mine. We at Mesquite Tree nurture and listen to our residents daily. Mesquite Tree is where the heart is!!!

Positive experience: My daughter worked here. I recently made her quit. She was a hospitality aide (CNA assistant) they insisted that she worked on halls alone. And covid-19 patients. The patients that were tested positive were allowed to roam the halls without being quarantined. She was told that they couldn't pay her any hazardous pay. The residents were beautiful and she misses them but this facility really needs some improvements in my opinion

Fantastic experience: As a 30 year employee at MTNC I would live there without a doubt ! I always felt like the residents and employees were my second family. I would not trade my experience there for anything else. Although it has been a challenge at times as I grow older when a resident says I love you and I trust you and I appreciate you then you know it was all worth it. We are not overrun by rats and roaches, we have an excellent housekeeping, laundry, dietary, rehab and management departments. WE work hard and if anyone has any negative comments about my "second family" then obviously you are not a part of it and never will be !

Fantastic experience: I moved here from San Antonio a few years ago. Upon walking into the facility, I received the warmest welcome from the residents as well as the staff. I have made lifelong friends and memories here. I consider Mesquite Tree my home away from home, my work family. We are a small facility but big in heart, care, and compassion. I love the interaction between the residents, staff, family, and visitors. We are not perfect but we do believe that continued practice makes improvement. We are a little hidden gem in the heart of Mesquite, Texas, and the best is yet to come.
