Fantastic experience: The Focused Care staff is always friendly and compassionate. My husband's grandmother was a resident at Focused Care in Pasadena,Texas for many years and was truly well taken care of.

Positive experience: from the moment of walking in on admission day for my father things instantly started happening, I went up to the receptionist and I said hi to the first nurse that i saw so I could get some help and she instantly gave me this nasty look and didnt even said hi to me back, all she did was point to the nurse that was next to her, I assume that she was on her break or something since she was on an ipad but that was still extremely rude to not even say hi to me back or atleast a smile, she was leaning all the way back in her chair like she just hated her job. I finally got to speak to someone letting them know that is was my dad’s admission day, she looked confused like she wasnt expecting a new patient, nobody probably told her or to anyone else. Fast forward to a couple of days my dad called me complaining that he is been waiting for more than an hour for someone to bring him some water, he also said that they took a very long time to empty his urinary bottle so he had no other option than to go in his diaper and since it was a lot it leaked everywhere and they had to change all of his bed sheets.. i mean this could’ve been avoided if they would’ve just dump out his urine, why are simple things like that so hard to obtain? my dad hasnt even been in this place for a month and things are already happening, it’s really unacceptable, I cant work properly at my job without worrying about the next thing that my dad will call me to complain. I’m not sure what the problem is, maybe they’re under staffed but that if thats the case they shouldn’t be accepting new patients, almost all the CNAs look like they’re in a bad mood and whenever they do something they act like if we are asking for a favor when is their JOB to do it.

Negative experience: This facility is horrible. The kitchen serves horrible food and they don’t clean the dishes properly serving undrinkable items. This is how they left the dining room from last night for breakfast. They serves dishes with left over food & rust on them.

Fantastic experience: My brother has been a resident here for 6 years. We have seen many administrative changes. The best I have seen is Christy. She has been here around 6 months, and she actually listens and takes care of the problems. She communicates very well with her residents, families, and nursing team. Focused Care has been fortunate to have a Director of Nursing, Rhoda, for 2 years now I believe. I remember when she first got here things were a mess. She and her assistant have helped with my brother and got problems handled quickly. They now have Christy and some great CNAs. Together they have weeded out the bad and with a few great ones that have been here have built a great team! And it shows when you walk in the door now. We are very thankful for the care of our brother. And it's good to know if we have a problem, we know they care and will take care of it. It's good to know our brother is happy and kept comfortable.

Negative experience: On my opinion my mother died due to the negligence of this facility, their procedures and the doctor they brought in.

Fantastic experience: I can not say enough good things about Focused Care and the nurses and the entire staff regardless of position that served 410. Day, night and weekend shifts were all 110% compassionate, attentive, and supportive. I appreciate every person I talked to, met, and who cared for my mother. Fantastic experience: I am on the management team at Focused Care in Pasadena. The staff in our building believe that our residents are our top priority. Our team continues to strive daily, not only to provide the proper & appropriate care for our residents, but to make families comfortable as well. Our Administrator Vanessa Johnson does a great job of setting boundaries and advocating for our residents & our staff. She has built some really strong relationships that have helped us collaborate with other teams to increase the level of support & care for our residents. I plan to continue being an asset to our team by providing each resident with the best care possible.

Fantastic experience: We placed our dad at Focus Care in Pasadena back in November for long term care, dementia. Prior to that my mother and I toured the facility with Ms. Grace who made us feel like family. She gave us a detailed tour answering all our questions and concerns. From day 1 when we moved our dad in till his last day, he received the best care. He was always and I mean always clean, showered, shaved and hair brushed. His clothes were well kept and clean. The facility every day was clean with a wonderful staff who constantly swept, mopped, changed linens to name a few all day long. The kitchen staff prepared well balanced warm meals every day of which I would have eaten. The skilled nurses, we can't compliment enough. They put my dad's best interest first every single day. His meds were delivered and administered with care, his vitals were taken many times throughout the day, they helped us move dad from the bed to the wheelchair every single time with care, they answered all our questions and never made us feel ignorant. To Hector and all the skilled nursing staff, we appreciate you to the moon and back. To the receptionists who welcomed us on our daily visits, thank you for making us feel like family and greeting us with a smile. When my dad passed the staff could not had been more sympathetic and consoling. Focus Care at Pasadena, we appreciate you more than you can imagine. We could not had taken care of our dad on our own and will be forever indebted to your kindness, care and understanding of how to tend to others. Positive experience: Night crew is not very considered, not helpful!! My wife is in there now!!

Positive experience: My mother has been here for 5yrs., and I have seen a lot of changes. Currently they are becoming more& more proactive (which is a good thing!) Considering we had a pandemic, and there are nursing shortages EVERYWHERE, they have really tried to make the best of it. It's always clean( sanitary conditions are important)The front office staff has been the same (except for Admin) but do a good job and are. knowledgeable. I especially want to recognize Ms. Grace,Michelle, Angel in front ofc. Shontell in the kitchen, And cannot leave out the very special Charlotte in activity dept. She is such a encourager to the residents. I thank you all!!!

Positive experience: I had a CVA...A Stroke from what they tell me, and was sent here from the hospital, Hermann Memorial., for rehab, and I must say the staff here is remarkable my physical therapist Julie gives a good workout, but doesnt over work you. My occupational therapist Astrid let me work at my own pace and let me know each milestone e I passed, and Mia, speech therapist extraordinaire, helping me work the muscles in my droopy face and my slurred speech keeping me encouraged and striving to get back to the mr that I k ow I am.thats my team along with Dr. G and Ms. Grace who is a GOD SEND, SPEADING CHEER AND GOOD VIBES ...I LOVE HER ENERGY , This was and is the best choice for me, everyone here is always so helpful, even my 17 year old grand daughter had nothing g but good things to say and she protested the loudest about me coming to a nursing home, she has changed her tune, a BIG SHOUT OUT AND HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO ALL THE MEMBERS ON STAFF AT FOVUSED CARE AT PASADRNA... THANKS FUYS...TRULY.

Fantastic experience: Dementia is a terrible disease. The family suffers along with their family member, although in different ways. When all avenues and resources are exhausted at home, this is without a doubt the next safest place for them to be. It's brought so much peace and comfort for an exhausted family after years and years of slow deterioration. The family member will disagree of course but again, dementia is a disease that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. The employees are always kind and caring and go out of their way to make certain all patients are taken care of and safe. The facility is very clean, extremely organized and kinda reminds me of my grandmother's house. Old pictures of patients and their families decorate the halls, old decor nicely adds charm and warmth to the already beautiful facility. They made sure it felt more like a home, not the memory care facility that it is. Everyone is happy and thankful for Focused Care.

Fantastic experience: My 94 year old mother has been at this facility for several months now and I have nothing, but praise and respect for all the staff members who work there and especially for the nursing staff and all the CNA's who have done such a wonderful job taking care of my mother. I would like to mention Grace, Michelle and Angle who work in the administration part of the facility have done an exceptional job keeping me informed of any changes within the facility during the COVID-19 pandemic. I want to thank you all very much for all your hard work. I high recommend this facility.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely wonderful facility!!! Calmed our fears, answered all our question and providing exceptional care to my father n law! This place is so clean, the rooms are very nice and the employees treat you more like family. I’ve NEVER had such wonderful communication with a staff as we have with them. The understanding, protection and care they provide is exceptional!!!

Positive experience: My Mom has been at this facility since June of 2016. She has been well taken care of and the facility is well kept. They keep me very informed what is going on with her. The ladies in the office are very helpful and the activities director is excellent keeping the residents very busy with a variety of activities scheduled each day. There are several long tenured employees there and I am at ease knowing they are taking good care of her.

Positive experience: Our 99 year old father is a resident of Focused Care at Pasadena. We recently lost our 91 year old mother 2 months ago. She also lived there with our dad in the same room. Our dad misses her terribly and seems lost without her. The nurses, aides and staff are doing a good job of taking care of dad, keeping a close eye on him so he's not alone in his room and trying to engage him in the daily routine and activities. He is also receiving therapy to help him with his circulation and balance. The therapists do a great job with him. Overall we are pleased with the care he is receiving and hope he continues doing well. Our hope is that he lives to be 100 years old on January 30, 2020!

Fantastic experience: This place have cared for my uncle since 2009 and even though there has been some minor issues, the staff have gone above and beyond in their response to make matter right.

Positive experience: My brother has been at this nursing home for three years. Since then there have been some changes. Some of them good, and some need improving. There have been times that they were understaffed and times that there was supply shortages. Most of the staff are very concerned about the residents, and there are some who are there just for the paycheck. Overall I would give them a B.

Positive experience: My mother has been here for the past 2 years and the individuals who work here are dedicated to the residents. Providing loving care and attention. They work well with the family members and assist with all questions. I chose this facility because of how well cared for the individuals are, the therapy group, and how happy and involved the residents are.

Positive experience: My brother is at Focus Care Pasadena. He has been there for a year. He seems happy there. We have had some issues, but the staff has been very helpful in resolving these issues. For the most part the nurses and aides are very good, and compassionate. I feel certain that if a problem arises it will be addressed.

Fantastic experience: My mother has been at Focused care several times over the past few years for Skilled Nursing and is now a long-term resident. The nursing staff and CNAs are friendly, she is well cared for and is happy there. The office and front desk staff have been very helpful and friendly. It is a clean facility and doesn't have the foul smell of some nursing homes.

Positive experience: This place has done a wonderful job with my mom. She went there six months ago, barely able to get around. Now she can walk on her own some. The staff has been very accommodating anytime we asked for anything. The food, unfortunately has not been great, but they are working on improving it. It is a relief to see my mom doing so much better.

Fantastic experience: My sisters and I relocated our 73 year old mother from a different nursing home to Focused Care at Pasadena, Texas right before the summer of 2019, and we are so happy that we did. More importantly, our mother is happy! After first speaking on the phone with Grace, one of the lovely Supervisors at Focused Care, and how confident and enthusiastic she was about where she worked I knew I wanted to tour the facility immediately. I met Grace within the week of first speaking with her on the telephone and she happily showed me around the Nursing Home. The very first thing I noticed about the place was the openness of it, and how everybody, and I mean "everybody" was working joyfully. There is a calmness in the air that feels peaceful. This was an important first impression for me because at the previous Nursing Home our mother lived at it often felt like there was tension in the air with the staff. My mother has been living at Focused Care at Pasadena, Texas for several months now and is very content. She has bonded strongly with a few of the staff members, particularly Michelle, who is one of the Receptionist sitting in the main room to greet you as you enter the building. Michelle is wonderful, as is Angel, another employee who frequently greets visitors at the front desk. The nursing staff, activity director, and every employee we've come in contact with has always been very, very nice and helpful with anything I've ever needed. My siblings and I are happy our mom has found a GREAT place to live, and as I stated earlier, our mom is happy and that is what's most important. We have no complaints, though - unfortunately- our mother has just one. Our mother regrets that Focused Care does not have a McDonalds restaurant inside the building to offer it's residents hamburgers, as she loves her Big Macs, but HEY it's a good thing they do not otherwise that is the only food she'd eat. ;~) God bless Focused Care at Pasadena, Texas and all who work there. They are gems.

Fantastic experience: My mother was here for about a month recovering from a UTI and getting some intensive physical and occupational therapy. The nurses and staff couldn't have been kinder. They answered all my questions. I visited several times and the food looked tasty. Mom can't do a whole lot on her own right now and they performed duties such as feeding and changing with a lot of care. I brought her home in much better condition than when she began her stay.

Fantastic experience: My husband has been a resident at Focused Care for several months. I visit him twice daily when entering the building I am always pleased as the it is clean and decorated for the season. The CNA and nurses are willing to listen and assist with personal issues that I may need to talk to them about from time to time.

Fantastic experience: My sister has been here since November, 2018. She gets very good care and they address her needs quickly. The staff are very helpful. They keep me informed of any issues she has.

Positive experience: My wife of 62+ years has been at Focused Care since April, 2019. She is satisfied with most of the caretakers and only has two complaints. 1. The food is not always served on time and hot. 2. She sometimes has to wait for a CNA (certified nursing attendant) to help dress/change her. She has been given the opportunity to relocate to a different nursing home and has refused. I, as her husband, have found all of the support personnel to be very friendly and ready to help.

Positive experience: Our mother lived at Focused Care from May 2019 - January 2020. We were very happy with the facility. They were clean and the entire staff was friendly. The lobby area is open to the nurses station, which was very nice. Our only complaint was her labeled-laundry and other belongings were lost on several occasions. Our mother, who was a recluse, acclimated to the environment and enjoyed sitting in the lobby and visiting with Michelle, the receptionist. It was very endearing to see her come out of her shell. On that note, both Michelle and Angel were awesome! Their kindness and patience made all the difference especially toward my mother who struggled with connecting with others. They both worked the front desk and were always welcoming and helpful. We moved our mother to a facility closer to our home in order to make the commute easier. The only reservation we had was how comfortable she was with Michelle and Angel. I would definitely recommend Focused Care.
