¡Hola!
HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast: Reviews
Fantastic experience: For my procedure, everyone was fantastic beginning with the intake to my appointment date. The nurses, staff, the lady that took my payment and even the people in the halls made my outpatient surgery less stressful.
Hi Paulette - Thank you for the positive feedback. We appreciate the kind words.
Fantastic experience: Not sure why this hospital has so many bad reviews. I have never been here before and the staff here in the ER IS awesome!! They were attentive, listened to me with what was going on and were very very fast. Within minutes of checking in at the front desk I was called and within an hour of being here I was on an iv. Thank you for being here for us!! God bless the staff in the ER here!!
Hi Kelly - Thank you for the positive feedback. We appreciate the kind words.
Negative experience: Omg was admitted for copd flare up had a terrible experience with nurses on the 4 th floor plus charge nurse very unethical disrespectful behaviors for being medical staff also feed me cold food sitting in hallways for long periods night shift nurses more attentive

Negative experience: Horrible place!!! My mother got admitted on a Monday night. Lady checking her vitals was on a personal phone call. She also attempted to throw medical supplies in the trash. She missed and just left it there. My mother rarely saw a doctor. I had to call the nurses station several times to find out what was going on with her care. Her second day there, she was misdiagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. Her room was very outdated and pipes would rattle when you turned on the sink and flushed the toilet. Several friends and family felt that they were dragging their feet and keeping my mother in the hospital longer than she needed to go. My mother also has Lupus, so any hospital stay is dangerous for her. Please do not let your love ones go to this hospital.
We are sorry to hear of this experience in our HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast and would like to look into this further. Please contact our Patient Safety Department at 713-359-1095 so that we may work to make the situation better. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: These folks are exceptional in service and care. Treated with much kindness and care
We truly value your feedback, thank you for taking the time to leave a rating.
Negative experience: This is the worst hospital ever! You come in with chest pains at 12noon and don't be seen until 4pm. Then you wait another 3 hours just for them to tell you oh you are ok just take advil like really? Ma’ma sir u have people walking around just look babe its a team effort stop looking and help. Than you have a nurse walking around with gloves on touching patients and then going back to the front desk to intake new patients thats a big no no! Please don't come here run!!!!
We are sorry to hear of this experience in our HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast and would like to look into this further. Please contact our Patient Safety Department at 713-359-1095 so that we may work to make the situation better. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: The xray part was smooth. Getting there was a pain. All the paperwork again and then sitting through the FIRE ALARM for what seemed like an eternity was really painful.
Thank you for the positive feedback. We appreciate the kind words.
Fantastic experience: Very professional personal, all just perfect.
Thank you for the positive feedback. We appreciate the kind words.
Negative experience: Based in the website only- don't press the telephone picture because it calls an international number.
Our team truly values this feedback. Please contact us at 713-359-1095 so that we may work to make the situation better. Thank you.
Negative experience: ⚠️IF YOU DO NOT HAVE INSURANCE THEY MAKE YOU PAY FOR A 300 DOLLAR DEDUCTIBLE AND THEY TELL YOU IT WILL COVER EVERYTHING IT WILL NOT THEY STILL CHARGE YOU AND TAKE YOUR 300 JUST REFUSE TO SIGN
Our team truly values this feedback. Please contact our Patient Safety Department at 713-359-1095 if you would like to speak with a representative. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Diwan as well as all the medical staff were very nice, kind, professionals. I truly appreciate their work and attention. Thank you very much!
Susy, This is so great to hear. Thank you!
Negative experience: My husband was transferred from HCA Pearland due to lack of beds, when he arrived he was taken immediately to the 4th floor as the ambulance crew already had his room number, the staff had no idea they were getting a tranfer patient. This was on 12/6/2024. The nurses were not very attentive, they hung IV antibiotics that have a set run time they are aware of but did not return when the time was up. My husband had to call for them when the IV started filling with blood to get it removed. The techs were wonderful I will say. Medication was not brought as scheduled and my husband is on a time sensitive schedule. The last day nurse he had I will say was awesome. He was there for three days and on the Saturday he was there I went to the charge nurse that was a joke. The morning he was discharged the Nurse Manger came and talked to us and we told her everything hopefully things will be addressed and care will get better. We will not let them tranfer him there if the situation arises again we will ask to go somewhere else even if it's farther from our home.

Positive experience: Not a bad experience, but things can be made easier for the older folks who are not very up to date with these constant technological changes. How ever, there was a patient worker, a lady, who assisted me.
Ambrose, Thank you for leaving a review. We are committed to the satisfaction of our patients, and this feedback will help us improve.
Negative experience: I don't even wanna review this establishment. A few years ago when I had a very serious issue, and was admitted for a few days. Despite how I should've felt, the stay was quite pleasant. I did not have the same experience for the foot I sprained a couple days ago. If it isn't an absolute emergency. Just go somewhere else.
We would love to learn more about your experience so we can identify any concerns you may have. Please contact our Patient Safety Department at 713-359-1095. We look forward to hearing from you.
Negative experience: The doctor didn’t really listen to how I feeling and only heard one of my many issues

Negative experience: My was having a procedure done in her room, the blind was not pulled down all the way, I got the charge and asked her follow me to my mothers room in the ICU to see the issue, she walked into the room tried to pull it didn’t work proceeded to just throw a pillow to the side of it and walk out said it was broken. I told her it was a HIPAA violation, she walked off and ignored me, while the window still was still in view of the hospital floor.

Negative experience: My experience at this campus is always unprofessional I didn’t do a review last time but I am doing one today I never been treating like crap and I have insurance but it seem like I didn’t have anything the discharge nurse was very rude and the doctor was only trying to do the very minimum and when I asked him about the problem I came in for he said he had no idea I cant believe a doctor said those words in a HOSPITAL smh so now I have to go to another hospital that’s willing to take care of me the right way
April, Our HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast truly values your feedback, and we are sorry to hear about this experience. Please contact our Patient Safety Departement at 713-359-1095 so that we may work to make the situation better. Thank you.
Negative experience: My mother had an interventional radiology procedure on her knee at HCA Southeast. She was originally scheduled to arrive at 8:00 AM, but I did not get the voicemail changing the time to 10 AM until after Mom arrived at the hospital. My fault. Around 10:00 AM, Mom was taken to pre-op for questioning. She remained there until about 12:30 PM when I called the hospital to ask for an update. The person I spoke with said that Mom would be taken back "within 20 to 30 minutes." I explained that it was poor management and poor communication to leave Mom with no information about when she could expect the procedure to begin, and I said that she would leave if she wasn't seen by 1:00 PM. Of course, she was taken to the surgical area a few minutes later. I called the physician's practice to get information about the delay and was told that there had been an emergency. Again, it's poor management to leave the patient and family sitting for hours with no notice about delays. A nurse told us that the procedure would take "about an hour." I assume this estimate did not include sedation or recovery. In any event, Mom was not discharged until just after 6:00 PM. This unexplained lag probably means that she waited for at least another couple of hours in the surgery waiting hour before being seen. I understand emergencies and unforeseen delays, but we will not return to this facility, and we will see the physician only for surgical follow up, not additional care.
Negative experience: Worst experience ever one dr for 2 emergency rooms lmao same old bay shore just some upgrades 4 hours of wait and then 3 more for a dr to tel me come back tomorrow emergency side sucks balls especially the receptionist she has a beautiful smile but that’s about it
Our HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast truly values your feedback, and we are sorry to hear about this experience. Please contact our Patient Safety Department at 713-359-1095 so that we may work to make the situation better. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: All the nurse was very knowledgeable helpful in my stay concerned about what I needed. Nurse Lindey very caring about her patients.

Fantastic experience: This place developed an excellent customer service which transcends just a service - you feel like home here. Absolutely everyone from the personnel is so nice, polite, inviting, and very professional. This is something that's already a part of the treatment, the healing energy!
Tui, Your compliments are great to hear. Thank you again for recognizing our efforts!
Negative experience: It's a shame when registration personnel show more compassion than the actual doctors! Quinton Allen you should be ashamed at how you treat sick children! There is a special place for you I'm sure of it. Come to this place if you want judgement passed on you during a tough time even the nurses besides nurse Joy was disdain Definitely a First and last time because that was an awful experience. No mother ever wants to see their children unwell. Karma is real and God see it all!!
Donna, Our HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast truly values your feedback, and we are sorry to hear about this experience. Please contact our Patient Safety Department at 713-359-1095 so that we may work to make the situation better. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough positive thing about HCA Southeast. From the operating room, the number of days in ICU, To eventu Eventual movement to a regular hospital room I received nothing but the most professional, kindest, thorough, treatment

Fantastic experience: Was transferred to this hospital so that could have surgery have to say best care team and every nurse I have had have been caring although I live a bit away this will be the hospital I go to from now on
Kimberley, We sincerely thank you for the positive review!
Negative experience: What happened to this place!!! It used to be decent. I haven't been here in a while until today, and I will never go here again. The man at the front desk was just awful. Very rude! He accused me of cutting in line when I wasn't. I was trying to move out of the way because the lady in front of me was taking a picture, and I felt like I was in her way. He talked to me like I was a child. And then he let the people behind me cut in front of me. They need to get rid of him and hire someone who likes all people. Plus, the parking situation is horrible. There was not one single parking spot. And the places that did have a spot were blocked. I had to park in a spot that was reserved, but I didn't stay long. I didn't want to stay there after how I was treated. If I could give this place a negative, I would.
Our HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast truly values your feedback, and we are sorry to hear about this experience. Please contact our Patient Safety Department at 713-359-1095 so that we may gather details to work to make the situation better. Thank you.
Negative experience: My experience for the Bayshore location ER was the highest worse time ever. I never encountered a bad experience for surgery or any other procedures I had to have in the past. I wouldn’t never go back there for any ER help. From the beginning to the end of my process encounter was horrible, if my insurance would have allowed I would have went to Ben Taub if I wanted to get treated any better. At least there you’re treated as a human with dignity and respect. I didn’t not like how Clara at the front desk didn’t take one minute just to be a people person to help others just to explain the process. Then the two ER nurses in the room very rude no bed side manners at all especially the ( Blonde hair).Don’t have no empathy on a person’s behalf just straight book and tunneled on how they want to do you. If a patient says they are a hard stick please be compassionate on their feelings and be mindful one day you will find yourself in that person’s shoes. Respectfully I asked the nurse not to place an IV in the crest of my arm just so I could be uncomfortable until I was seen by a different department hours later. Then she questioned my identity on if I was in the healthcare field, it doesn’t matter I’m still a person slash patient that was in need of care. It shouldn’t matter what a person status is for you to be treated with respect. Despite the renovation and patients had to be roomed in the hallway and techs sitting next them on their phones was not professional at all. The only person actually did her skilled role was Chassidy very nice very professional didn’t have any issues with her she kept me informed on how things were going and the Radiology nurse those two deserve the Daisy Award or The Colleague Recognition.

Positive experience: Staff was excellent and very helpful. Doctor was prompt and very kind. However, did not figure out what is wrong with me? I'm still very ill and weak? May have to return? But i can't afford to wait in a waiting area for hours just to be told they can't find anything wrong?
Craig, Craig Smith, thank you for your feedback and positive comments about our staff. We understand your time is valuable and want to apologize if your wait was longer than anticipated. Negative experience: Do not go here, but if you have to don't let your family members go alone and record everything. I've been here several times. Had a nurse try to take my blood pressure on the same arm I was getting my IV fluids. And my uncle had a nurse pump air into his IV. His arm started curling up and he almost died. Would definitely not recommend.
Desiree, We'd love to learn more about your experience so we can identify any concerns you may have. Please contact our Patient Safety Line at 713-359-1095 We look forward to hearing from you.
Negative experience: Went to register today for the delivery of my son, I used valet parking cause I didn’t know how long it was going to take. It clearly says complimentary, when I went to get my car I seen the lady left the older Hispanic guy a tip and I don’t keep cash on me usually or I would have gave him a tip as well. So the man goes to get my car and when he gets out says “No tip” and I apologized and said sorry I have no cash. He then goes on to say “come on man your lazy “ like how rude of him first off that’s his job and I don’t have to tip he made me feel uncomfortable and that was very rude of him yea I understand a tip would have been nice but I’m sorry I had no cash and he had no need to make any comments like that.

Fantastic experience: Great place for anyone needing physical therapy session. Very engaging and knowledgeable staff members!! Personalized attention!!
Bency, Thank you for the positive feedback. We appreciate the kind words.
Positive experience: The care received was second to none. However, I did not give 5 stars because not all providers within HCA are authorized in my health plan or no one cared to provide that information in advance of my procedure.
Richard, Thank you for your review of HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast! We take pride in serving the community and appreciate you taking the time to write such a kind review. We will be sure to pass it along to our staff.
Fantastic experience: Received excellent care from Dr.s,nurses,&all other staff! They treated me with respect & always took care of my needs!! Definitely recommend this hospital!!
Lorina, Thank you for the positive feedback. We appreciate the kind words.
Negative experience: Waited at check in for over 10min. Had to go to the main lobby to ask who was available for check in . African American female said someone is there then proceeded to follow me back to day surgery desk. By that time someone had made it back and the African American female said Beverly I knew you was there. I said no one has been here until now. Beverly and her supervisor just glared at me and said we will try to do better next time. They made us feel as we were in the wrong for not calling the number that read call for patient information not patient check in. That sign should be rewritten. No one is ever available at the front desk.

Positive experience: Rooms I was in were so out of date and first room had a bad leak under sink and toilet was cracked and leaking, paint from shower was pealing and room as well. Second room was worse missing baseboards

Fantastic experience: My experience giving birth to my baby boy at HCA SE was WONDERFUL. From the moment we checked-in to the time we were discharged a few days later, every member of the team was so kind, friendly, and extremely helpful. I drove from Dallas to give birth with my preferred OB, Dr. Tawadrous, in the Pasadena area and feel truly blessed to have had the fantastic team at HCA help me. The bedside manner, knowledge, and enthusiasm was truly above and beyond. Thank you! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Nichole, congratulation on your newest family member. Thank you for your review of HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast! We take pride in serving the community and appreciate you taking the time to write such a kind review. We will be sure to pass it along to our staff.
Positive experience: Staff on 2nd floor was great people had well has housekeeping. But Nero Dr is a person I wouldn't recommend to noone. Not even devil. I would have it a 1 but staff was great and housekeeping but Doctors some of them think there better than everyone. I would never come back to this hospital again
We are grateful for the kind words regarding our staff. We will investigate the concern regarding Dr. Nero and take the appropriate measures to fix this issue.
Negative experience: Avoid!!! On October 16, 2024 330-4pm arrival. RN and associate at the front desk in the ER are worthless employees. Neither would let me know that my father arrived there by ambulance. They did nothing to help us at all. Then David, the Nurse Leader came out finally and let me know he was there and they are running tests. I told him that no one let us know and he said we don't notify family. I said we are here in this emergency room waiting area. Mind you there's only 7 chairs. I asked if my mom could go see him and he said not yet. I said will someone let us know when we can? He said yes but only 1 person at a time. Hours went by and we hear nothing. RN at the front kept looking at me and couldn't be bothered to let us know that we could come back there. Absolutely worthless employee. The other girl just played on her phone. How much does that pay? Finally after 3 hours of watching people come and go my mother asked if she could see him and they said yes. After being there 3 hours! We watched a family of 3 go back to see their loved one but I'm told only 1 person at a time? Was I being discriminated against? Sure seemed that way. They discharged my father. Gave us no paperwork on the tests they ran for 3 hours. All they care about is getting people in and out as fast as possible. They have the wrong employees at this location that are not helpful, rude, and liars.

Negative experience: Worst hospital I have ever been too! I brought 2 of my kids here ages 3 &7 in the middle of the night, one with a high fever of 105 and a rash that broke out with a cough and the other was crying about his ear hurting. They sent them home saying it's just a little virus going on and it should pass! I was not satisfied with their expertise so I made them an appointment early the next morning with their pediatrician and guess what?! in less than 12 after being at this hospital they were diagnosed with an ear infection and the other with strep throat! Both were on antibiotics immediately! This hospital won't even take children care seriously! I will never come here again! Just go to an urgent care near you! Avoid this place at all cost!
Araceli, We are sorry to hear of this experience in our HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast and would like to look into this further. Please call the Patient Safety Department at 713-359-1095 so that we can get further information to address the situation.
Negative experience: The old dark man with glasses security guard in the front is very rude discriminating and racist I was waiting in line and there was old white man who just got discharge asking to please charge his phone well he was very mean to him. When the other guard came he tells him I'll be back I left that phone there belongs to that man In lobby n the guard tell him what man and he like that white scuffed up looking man that just got discharge that need to hurry the hell up and get the hell out of herelike who talks like that in a hospital about the patients This place suck they will litterly let you die and don't care about the elderly they are some nurses that are just the sweetest and most caring but doesn't make up for the rest of the stuck up rude nurses and staff who think they are better then anyone and don't care about the patients the cafeteria ppl are rude and rush you if it's your first time down their you will definitely feel out of place and unwanted The whole hospital is filthy and the laziness shows never came to my room the 2 weeks there to change bed sheet clean rr I always had to call or do my self The Dr's are a joke and only come because they have to they are littely to bussy with there little clinics hear patients are not priority and if left to them they would let all the seniors pass Away so sad to say Will never come here will never ever recommend I thought because they change the name I would give them a chance worse decision they are still the same or worse when it was BAYSHORE wish there was a 0 star review
Negative experience: I cannot explain in words how unhappy my family and I are with this hospital and its staff. My grandpa has had pneumonia 5 times in the past month and half. We tried getting answers on ways we can prevent this from happening again and doctors and nurses say they don’t have an answer. He gets sent home back to rehab, then 2 weeks later he gets readmitted for the same problem. The nurse on second floor, Alexis, does not put in her 2 cents when caring for my grandpa. My grandma came to visit and found my grandpa lying in his feces, literally stool leaking out of his briefs. My grandma does not speak English very well, so she contacted me to call the hospital to speak with his nurse. The nurse made an excuse saying he was only lying there for a few minutes, but that was false because his stool was dry and stuck to his legs and bed sheets. They won’t perform mouth care on him, he’s been NPO for a couple months so his mouth has been so dry, whenever my grandma comes in there’s so much thrush on his tongue and outer lips. When asked if they could provide mouth care, the staff handed my grandma a brush bag and told her to do it herself. The room is so unsanitary and the way they care for their sick patients is so heartbreaking. No bed baths were provided, bed sheets are so dirty and soiled, his hair is matted, eye crusties were forming around his eyes. When confronted, the nurse made excuses saying they provided care for him. All of which are false. It is so saddening to see how someone could care for an elderly patient like this. Please do better for future patients, I will be requesting a different hospital next time. Never returning back.

Positive experience: I used to like this hospital. Not anymore. Every time I go I tell them I’m a hard stick, meaning its difficult to find my veins and that’s why I always ask them if they could use the ultrasound machine to find my veins to start an IV and they always say no because “they know what they are doing” And that’s when I end up getting poked like 4 or 5 times. Another reason I don’t like it anymore is because every time I go because I have excruciating pain they always say I don’t really have anything wrong, just inflammation and that’s it. So what I did was go to another HCA hospital and they found out what was wrong with me. Not just that but at the other HCA hospital they didn’t have to poke me multiple times. As soon as I told them it was hard to look for my veins they did not hesitate on getting an ultrasound machine.

Negative experience: DO NOT USE! I sat with my 3 year old daughter for an hour and half with an open wound which needed stitches immediately. The doctors and nurses where just lounging about. They stopped what they were doing to give doctors awards. The front desk had a snobby attitude.

Positive experience: Second floor recovery staff the best. I would give them all the stars. NOW ON THE OTHER HAND THE EMERGENCY STAFF IS THE WORSE OUT OF 10 nurses 1-2 are kind. THE REST BAD BAD
Eduardo, We are grateful for the kind words regarding our recovery staff. And we will investigate the concern regarding the ER staff and take the appropriate measures to fix this issue.
Fantastic experience: All the staff, nurses & my OB/GYN were just a perfect team for my delivery!
Jacqueline, Thank you for your review of HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast! We take pride in serving the community and appreciate you taking the time to write such a kind review. We will be sure to pass it along to our staff.
Negative experience: Very unpleasant, labor and delivery was absolutely horrible! Nursery didn’t have no ac my babies tracker on his foot fell off when it was time for me to go the lady who took me down didn’t even check if my son was strapped in she told me “she didn’t work with babies” my mother had to go and make sure he was strapped in the right way, going into labor the nurse was absolutely rude she would grabbed where my iv was at then get frustrated if I couldn’t pull my self up my husband told her to not talk to me like that or grab my hand the way she did and we had to switch nurses it was just a horrible experience I know next time I will not be having my next baby there!

Negative experience: Stepmom had DVT symptoms and a stroke history. Online the wait time said 3 minutes, it was 3 hours and they wouldn’t let us sit together while we were in there. They did do an ultrasound, didn’t find anything, even though her leg pain was like a 10. They never took her medical history and prescribed NSAIDs for the pain, which she isn’t supposed to take. I had heard it was better since it became HCA, but I wouldn’t go back if I could help it.
Our HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast truly values your feedback, and we are sorry to hear about this experience. Please contact our Patient Safety Department at 713-359-1095 so that we may work to make the situation better. Thank you.
Negative experience: This is the worst hospital to bring your loved one to! The doctors do not listen to anything you say. The nurses only tell you that they will be there in a minute. Only to wait 40 minutes before they come in to see what is going on. Even the charge nurse is not helpful. I am seriously surprised that someone has not died due to the negligence in this hospital. Go to any other medical facility before coming here.

Negative experience: My emergency experience I’ll be making 2reviews on this hospital: 1st I would like to tell you about my experience in the ER with one nurse name Allison/Alissa or something,a woman with a controlling trip very cold hearted person if you can call her person, I came in with a sharp pain in my chest due to the fact that I’m under dialysis I was thinking that I was having a mild heart attack as I was laying in the bed she’s informing the other nurses of how you have to treat patients in this hospital room specially the emergency room as though she had a power trip and trying to tell everybody what they needed to do versus teaching them I feel people like that are in the wrong industry. They think they got things under control but more they don’t even have their own selves in control. She was very harsh with me as she injected needle in my arm due to the fact that I am a hard stick. She had no sympathy whatsoever as she slammed her hand into my arm with the needle now I have this needle that’s in my arm that is leaking blood all over my hand from the moment that she replaced it, it was in pain. Pictures will be attached as she refused to give me her name though. as she walked away, and I told her that I was gonna talk to somebody in reference to her, her remarks were oh well again I asked her name and she refused. The only thing that I can say about that woman is in the wrong industry, they need to have better nurses that are little bit more compassionate towards us that come in that are ill. I have expressed so much of how I didn’t wanna come to this hospital due to the fact of all the negativity that I have heard but I wanted to give it a chance due to the fact that it was so close to the Center where I go get the dialysis now I know that if I ever decided to come, I will not be coming to this hospital due to the fact of that nurse *******************❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ ********* 5:STARS 10 if I could I stayed in room 4015 know I can actually say that the nurse is on that floor took away all the negativity for that one. The nurses here on that floor were excellent kind loving took the time to acknowledge you that you are a person I’ve have been to many hospitals in the past and this is one of the ones that has great nurses one bad apple cannot spoil the rest as long as you take it out-of-the-way and I can say that the ones on the fourth floor made me forget about Allison or Alice or whatever her name was in the emergency room My 5 day stay here was very very wonderful. They made me feel comfortable always making sure I was fine and comfortable, checking up on me to see if a needed anything. It was a wonderful stay I’m sorry to say that just because of that one nurse or whatever her name was an ER can mess it up for everybody else, but for the girls upstairs I bow down to them they were awesome, wonderful loving and kind. That’s what this hospital needs and that’s what their motive should be to help those that are coming in because that could be your LOVE ONES
Irene, We are grateful for the kind words regarding our nursing staff during the time you were admitted to the hospital. We will investigate the concern regarding ER staffing and take the appropriate measures to fix this issue.
Negative experience: I was transported via ambulance because I was in excruciating pain. When I arrived at the ER, I had a CT done & it came back normal.. I was still in excruciating pain, I was crying & having discomfort in my abdomen… Then a physician finally came to see me after 6 hours of waiting in the ED, Dr.Joel E Munoz told me “you are not going to die in 48 hours & that’s my job to rule your not going to die so you will be discharged”! Completely unethical & Unprofessional!!! As a healthcare worker, You need to do a better job of actually caring for your patients & listening to the chief complaint, if you can’t do that, THAN YOU DO NOT BELONG IN THE MEDICAL FIELD!!!
Angelique, Our HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast truly values your feedback, and we are sorry to hear about this experience. Please contact our Patient Safety Department at 713-359-1095 so that we may work to make the situation better. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: I had a family member go there recently in an ambulance and we were of course worried about the family member but also about how the hospital would treat its patients. We were so grateful that the hospital doctors, nurses, emergency personnel, and other staff were kind, courteous, and caring. The doctors and nurses took time to answer questions and offer reassurances, even with their stressful and busy schedules. They took good care of our family member and successfully treated him over the needed period, so that now he's back home with us. We feel it's a great blessing from God that we were led to this hospital and the care, compassion, and treatment they provided at an absolutely critical moment for our family member. We are definitely thankful that there are good and compassionate doctors, nurses, specialists, emergency personnel and others using their God given talents to help others when they are under great suffering and stress. We certainly won't forget it!

Negative experience: Hospital is BAD. Had a gallbladder taken out. Doctor never did a follow up after the surgery. They leave notes for the nurse to read to us. If you have any questions the nurse doesn’t know. Then they said a kidney stone had to be taken out and when they went in there there was nothing. Same thing no follow up and nurses can only read what the doctors put in the notes. So many questions left unanswered. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOSPITAL!!!!!!!

Negative experience: From today, August 13 in the morning, we began to worry about the one where my father Euclides Rodriguez's patient sleepiness, we have been insisting to the nursing staff about the state of sleepiness, the drop in the oxygen level to 91, incoherent language, involuntary movements in the arms. We have insisted on the patient's continued use of opioid drugs (morphine, tramadol and oxycodone) and have not been heard. We fear that its current state could worsen and compromise the patient's life. We want to put on record in writing what is happening and hold accountable all staff on duty today for what may happen to the patient as a result of lack of proper care. We are in room 4037. Patient name is Euclides Rodriguez.
Euclides, We are very sorry to hear about this experience. Patient satisfaction is important to us at HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast, so we will make every effort to address any concerns. Fantastic experience: Very good staff(doctors, nurses, receptionist, etc.....) Physican Alexis, Dan E (Md)and Jolulia (Rn) Thank you for the good service and hospitality I received today. Also this is not the first time I've been to this hospital and they handle whatever situation it is promptly and quickly. Never a long wait or a long visit to get released.

Negative experience: They don't have a place for you to wait in the ER. I had to wait in a crowded patient hallway all night while they ran tests. I felt bad for the patients as I was listening to them in the rooms in front of me all night, vomiting, screaming in pain etc. The building wasn't under construction or anything, that's just the way it's set up I guess. Once I was admitted, it took 9 hours to get a room. I was still stuck in the hallway, constantly having to shift my legs to the side for the patients on stretchers to come by the entire time. I had to leave at one point during my stay to take care of a family matter at home. Upon my return, the staff told me I had to redo all the tests they did just hours prior, which took all night long. I was in pain, the results were in, the doctors knew the issue and what to do about it, but according to the "hospital's policy" apparently, because I didn't essentially hogtie myself to the bed the entire stay, they wanted me to re-live that nightmare for no logical reason whatsoever. That's obscene. It's against the oath health care workers are supposed to take that says they are not to do any harm. That's cruel and unusual punishment for nothing other than the crime of having a family to tend to while also taking care of my emergency situation. Luckily in this case, there was a nurse practitioner who overheard and stepped in to argue that we should skip spending hours redoing all the tests that she had the results for already on the clipboard in her hands. There was pushback from the staff to the nurse practitioner, but luckily again, she held her ground and said no, we're not going to waste the hospital's resources and potentially do more harm to the patient by putting them through this again unnecessarily when we could be getting to the treatment they(me) require as quickly as we can. I ran into this issue again two days later, the day of my release from the hospital. Except this time, there was no doctor or nurse practitioner around with any common sense or human decency unfortunately, so the hospital's inhumane policy which goes against the healthcare oath and should be investigated, had the upper hand and prevented me from tending to my family's needs, lest I be forced to experience that entire weekend all over again for no reason other than, I suppose, making the hospital more money for days worth of double testing? Not sure. But luckily I was released by a doctor later that day and was able to take care of my family's needs. This was just an ER visit because of severe abdominal pain that persisted for 3 days, turned hospital admittance, resulting in an antibiotic prescription and scheduled procedure and follow up with a doctor. That's it. That's all it had to be. This wasn't a court ordered stay or punishment, which the hospital's staff/policy made it feel like. I hope I never have to step foot in this hospital again and I strongly suggest an investigation take place. I will look into who to contact to try and make sure that takes place. If you can avoid it, don't go to HCA Healthcare Houston Southeast.

Negative experience: Got in a motocross accident and collapsed my lung, broke a few ribs, and broke my collar bone. The first 6 hours I was there were honestly pretty good but once I got out of surgery for my lung it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. They never set my collar bone correctly and I’m probably gonna have to have surgery on it now to get it right and they would never come to my room even after calling 4 different times over a 6 hr period I was in pain and the staff acted like they didn’t care about me or how I was feeling. I ended up walking out and it took them over a hr to realize I was gone and then they called me worried about their iv that was still in my arm lol. Place was a joke

Fantastic experience: There was something wrong that required being admitted. I must say that the nurses at this facility were the epitome of "We Show up with passion and purpose". 3 nurses ((Michelle (Lead RN), Abigail (RN, ICU), Adrian (RN)) stood out and went way above and beyond the call of duty. There was one PCT (Taliyah) that ALWAYS knocked before entering the room. In addition, she always washed her hands up on entry. I was so aggravated because I was in so much pain and felt terrible. The above mentioned, assisted me tremendously and pacified me with empathy. One of them teared up along side of me. Really? That was a first and it comforted me. I felt so much better in that moment. HCA, offered a hand of help and hope, setting the bar! Look out medical center, THEY Show up! HCA Pasadena provided the best Care by far.

Negative experience: Wouldn’t even give one star if I could. Went in yesterday and was treated as if I was looking for pain medication. Was snapped at by a nurse practitioner for them not being able to locate my history with them. Was not communicated with by him any further than him stating he needed my history. Felt like I was gaslit and him typing up I didn’t have a diagnosis that I was diagnosed with at the age of 17 and had been in with a specialist for on several occasions. Was grilled on not having a primary care doctor when I don’t have health insurance. Felt like I was treated as if I was an addict and was told he couldn’t help me and my new symptoms was not symptoms. Never been treated that way by a medical professional in my life. He acted like he was offended by just my presence.

Negative experience: I was a patient there during the hurricane On July 8 2024. I’m a heart patient plus Copd. On the day that I’m discharging to come home. The nurse was very rough rude mean . I’m like what in the world. Confiscated some supplies that wund care Gave me. And my discharge papers . That I need for home health. They need to hire responsibility nurse . Because I don’t have room for hate behavior.

Negative experience: Unfortunately I had to make an ER appearance during the week of the massive power outage in Houston. Most unfortunate I had to come here, First off the nurses were very nice and did their best under the conditions they are working under. I spent the entire night in the ER I guess what they have set up for holding because there were no rooms. All night all I could hear was staff searching for patients they had lost. I guess the few patients they had in there with me were lost as well because they never served them breakfast. I eventually was placed in a room on the second floor, in a shared room with another patient , I hadn’t seen a shared hospital room since the 80’s, Placed in the room with a patient who screamed, yelled and cursed the entire 5 hours I was there. I advise my nurse that , She could go ahead and release me because this was unacceptable . This is one hospital I hope to never have to visit again. I give the staff 5 stars the facility and whoever is making the decision to house patients with a patient like this 0 stars.

Negative experience: Awful. My family had the misfortune of dealing with Dr. Afzal. It is very clear he does not care for his patients as he rarely checked on our loved one. Maybe other doctors are more pleasant, but he surely ruined our experience. We were going through a tough enough time with our family member in the hospital, so to deal with this on top of that was less than ideal. I assure you, you will be better off with another facility.

Fantastic experience: If I could rate the labor & delivery 10 stars I would. I delivered my first baby there 6 days ago and the staff there was so welcoming and so kind. By the way they were treating me I knew I was safe and in good hands. I will definitely be back if I have another angel. Thank you HCA!
Marlyn, Thank you for your review of HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast! We take pride in serving the community and appreciate you taking the time to write such a kind review. We will be sure to pass it along to our staff.
Negative experience: Called the hospital at 10:01, got the rudest answer from someone in the ICU or someone on the intensive care unit. Got the wrong unit, and asked them if they could transfer me, and mid sentence they hung up on me after interrupting me not even letting me finish the question saying “sorry. I’m not going to help you”. I get it that they might not be able to, but out of all places, I’d least expect a hospital to hang up on someone not even able to ask a fully formed question.
Gabriella, we are sorry to hear that you had trouble reaching us and will share this feedback with our staff so we may work to improve. If there is anything else you need, please don't hesitate to reach out to the Patient Safety Department at 713-359-1095.
Negative experience: I'm so upset with the staff and this hospital, I can't believe I fell for all the hype of we changed, we are better than the old place. So much lack of communication between the staff and the patient and family. Then when question about who what and when the staff than has an attitude with us. Need more nurses so that they can give the patient the sense of priority care instead of waiting almost 2hrs for meds that are on a strict time frame. As family member we are understanding and we are willing to help out where we can (we make the bed, diaper changes, urinal cleanse, feedings, bathing in bed,) but when we say hey we need assistance in this room and it take forever that is ridiculous. So many other issues that is why i say one star it actually 1/2.
Rita, We are sorry to hear of this experience in our HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast and would like to look into this further. Please call the Patient Safety Department at 713-359-1095 so that we can get further information to address the situation.
Negative experience: I went in due to being pregnant and I had a gush of fluid and vaginal bleeding. The first time I went in I was not told anything other than I had a UTI and that the baby was okay. After only getting vitals, blood, urine test and ultrasound. When I asked about what the gush of fluid I had in the morning I was told it was a blocked urinary duct and just to see my OBGYN and was discharged. I went in later on that same day for the second time due to having a large clot while being pregnant the PA asked me what I wanted to do and what my OBGYN expect them to do. They said they can just do an ultrasound to make sure the baby was okay or just go home and wait till my appointment with the OBGYN for an Ultrasound that was the next day. After telling them that my OBGYN office had told me to go to the ER when I told them about the clot. I told them to do the ultrasound. As I was waiting for the ultrasound results I passed another large clot and I tried to notify someone. Once I got a nurse in the hallway and they went to ask someone else what to do they told me to just take a picture and flush it. When the PA came to tell me the results they just told me that the baby was fine. I told her about the clot and I tried to show her but she did not seem interested. I asked about why I’m bleeding and cramping so much and she just said some women bleed during their pregnancy but that’s a good question for my OBGYN when I see her tomorrow. The nurse that got all my information when I first got there came back to check on me and seemed more concerned about the clot than the PA. He told me if it happens again to scoop it out to see the clot and I’m happy I remembered that because I ended up being in the process of a miscarriage and was not told anything other than my baby was fine. The Next morning I had my baby by myself at home. I went to the HCA clear lake told them everything that had happened at the HCA southeast Houston and was shocked to know I was discharged TWICE and never had a physical exam. That the gush I had the morning before was because my water had broke and that on the first ultrasound they should have been able to see that there was no more fluid and that I was in active labor and had started the process of a miscarriage. I was not notified of anything other than my baby was fine. I was told that my very traumatic experienced could have been avoided if I was told I was going through a miscarriage, not been discharged and could have had my baby under hospital observation and not in my restroom at home.

Fantastic experience: This hospital was the best as far as professional staff and friendly atmosphere. From the surgery experience to recovery and the excellent care on the fifth floor I cannot say enough good things about them. Your are not going to experience a lot of overworked grumpy nurses and techs. They seem to enjoy their job which in turn makes your experience much more pleasant. Efficient and prompt caring for me. Medications also given on time and didn’t make you wait for pain meds. Very clean environment. Certainly not the “old Bayshore” So if you need to check in to a hospital. Don’t hesitate. It’s not what you remember from years ago.

Negative experience: This place needs to review how to take care of babies. a constant fever is indication of a possible infection. You need to figure out what is wrong with the child before you discharge and send them home without any medication or antibiotics if needed. There were no tests run at all, all they did was check vitals and discharge . There was no checking for infections and a week later there is a baby in the doctor’s office being told that they haven’t ear infection, you need to do better. I understand you’re under construction, but you need to take care of your patients carefully and in detail.

Positive experience: My husband was transferred from the HCA in Pearland to HCA Southeast to have spinal surgery. I was hesitant at first due to the negative reviews. However the 5th floor neurology nurses and doctors were great. I felt informed and assured, my husband was well attended and cared for. It was a frightening experience at first but MOST OF the staff (not all) comforted us and made us feel welcome. Special nurses: Lenor, Rita, Angela, and others whose names I can't recall and to the techs, y'all just keep up the good work it's truly appreciated. Shout out to my husband's surgeon Dr. Pakzaban and the other doctors, Dr. Lee, Dr. Tran, and others thank you. The physical therapy team is a "well-oiled" working machine! Thank you! I can't speak for the other hospital departments, but 5th floor patients and family get pampered. Thanks for the Bistro..I never had to leave my husband to go hunt for nearby eateries. Sincerely, Danna Moore

Negative experience: I called the ICU to check on my grandmother, the ICU nurses seemed irritated for no reason. I had to call 3 times, they kept me on hold for over 30minutes each time and still have yet to take me off hold. They even hung up the phone on me once! What's going on with this place?

Negative experience: From labor and delivery experience only. I was pressured/guilted into feeling better. I was not better. I was in severe pain just from breathing so I couldn’t sleep in that amount of pain and yet I was still demanded to move around. With the lack of sleep not only because of pain but because we kept getting interruptions constantly. I can not get better with 2 hours of sleep. I stayed for 1 1/2 days and it felt like a torture of 4 days. I significantly got better at my house since I was actually allowed to sleep uninterrupted and not pushed to move. I know my limit. I am the one in pain. I am the one that pushed a child out of body it should be my choice whether I want to move around or not and how often. Regardless of risk of blood clots. I was at risk of passing out or worse because of how hard my body worked with little to no sleep. Directly result and fault of nurses. One nurse in particular stood out. Her name was Nina she would be upset since I wasn’t feeling better. Imagine that, I was the one in actual pain all I wanted was to feel better. She Had an attitude about everything. Extremely unprofessional and when I tried to nicely express my concerns she got defensive and seemed to lash out. She didn’t help me or care for me in any way. She did not seem to believe that I was in any pain. Didn’t want me discharged despite my doctor leaving it up to me. She thought I was not truthful when I said my doctor was giving me time to decide so she called him in front of me. She put her foot on the bed and crossed her arms and her demeanor was extremely rude and unprofessional. Once she realized I was correct she proceeded to take my pulse saw my heart rate was high for the first time ever and said I’m going to tell your doctor it’s high. I said this is the first time. I still would like to be discharged. She definitely dragged the discharge out and talked as long and slow as she could while we were clearly packed and ready to go. My baby was crying as well very loudly as we patiently waited for her to be done talking. Then she decided to just pick up my baby without permission and commented about her crying. I told her to put her back. And we finally finally left. Home where I actually was able to sleep so of course I started to get better and when I felt that, I allowed myself to start walking around at my own pace. I think it should be everyones option regardless of risk of blood clots to go at there own pace because every case, every body, every pain, every labor and delivery is different it is not a one size fits all. I literally was so drained and exhausted I didn’t think I was going to make it out of the hospital alive. I wanted to so badly to get better but I just couldn't due to the lack of care and sleep from nurses. I understand there’s a balance between moving and getting rest but It was clear what was to much and what my body needed. Only I can feel the pain. I was pushed to move to much with almost no rest. On to the positive side there was one nurse who I felt genuinely cared for me. I didn’t catch her name but she was light skinned African American older lady with blemishes on her and the lactation consultant was nice as well she seemed to care as well. I believe a head nurse came into check on us and I told her my concerns of not getting rest due to interruptions and being pushed to hard to move around. She did no better. She just agreed with the other nurses and said she’d try to tell them not to come in and did not help i noticed no difference. Had I not had my loving caring husband with me helping me every step I almost guarantee I would have passed out due to exhaustion. The hospital needs to due better on who is allowed to come in and out and have nurses that actually care about their patients. My doctor was amazing but that has nothing to do with the hospital. I do not recommend this hospital.

Fantastic experience: On 5/21/24 I fell in my home and broke my shoulder. RN Kevin took care of me in ER, evening shift. Kevin went above and beyond to be kind and compassionate towards me and my mother even though the ER was overwhelmed with ill and injured people. Dr Munoz was also very kind to me even though he was working so fast that he was blurry. I don't know the other names to thank who were kind to me, there were several. X-RAY tech went out of her way to be gentle.

Negative experience: Not a very good experience for my mom! I would hate to think what kind of care she would have received if we were not staying the night with her. I wish I could post pictures of the bathroom in her room. Looked like a third world country. Toilet paper dispenser on the floor with toilet paper rolls around it. So unsanitary. The employees are noticeably unhappy. They verbally voice their unhappiness!!

Fantastic experience: I want to see one of the best experiences they got to me right away. I dislocated my shoulder and fell on the road. Pick me up brought me here. Best experience to carry me right away so I’m very happy. I can go home with my arm sling I’m very happy with my experience. He took care of me right away and wait a few minutes for them to come because I have high blood pressure but everything went well. I’m not in pain and I can go home. Thank you to the wonderful doctor in the emergency room and his staff took care of me especially my nurse wonderful

Fantastic experience: I had my third baby at HCA in Pasadena, everything went smooth. Nurses were really sweet and caring. Loved my experience. I’m currently pregnant and I will be delivering my 4th child at HCA. I was there a couple of weeks ago, and nurses were so sweet. Definitely going back in 14 weeks to deliver my baby.

Negative experience: This ICU is horrible many nurses are lazy or feel bothered by being asked to do something, & provide inconsistent care from one nurse to the next! If you can’t talk because you been intubated they will treat you like your nobody, & what you want isn’t important! Won’t even acknowledge you’re mental state whatsoever if you can’t squeeze their hand & wiggle your toes on command! And forget your friends advocating for your suffering because they don’t matter!

Fantastic experience: I originally went in for a left heart Cath but I ended up having to get a stint. I ended up having to stay in the hospital 3 days. I had fears about this hospital I'm thankful to say that this hospital is working hard on improving. I was greeted with so much kindness and respect from every staff member. I mean from the D. O N, nurses, cnas, the cafeteria staff and housekeeping. I want to thank everyone that took care of me. I had an awesome stay.

Negative experience: Ridiculously long wait for my mom to get an EKG and blood work for endoscopy on Thursday. No reason in the world why it is taking these peolle over 4 hours. Mom is fuming because this is the 2nd time and they take this long every time. HCA Spencer needs improvement. Whay is the sense in giving someone an appointment of you can't get on it and get done??
