Fantastic experience: Everyone was so nice and helpful. They helped get me back to being able to stand and transfer to my wheelchair and or walker. The food was way better than the hospital food. And it was very clean and comfortable.

Positive experience: My mother was recently in Encompass for rehab and we all had a good experience. The food wasn't all that great but other than that, it was a good stay.

Fantastic experience: Staff are very caring about your needs and goals in PT and OT rehab. All therapist give you extensive tasks for you to meet the goals you want to reach. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to help patients become independent. Nursing, therapy and meals are wonderful. Positive experience: I had a good overall experience here. I loved my two pt’s. All the aides and nurses were friendly and seemed to do everything they could to make me comfortable. The only issue I really had was the before I was discharged the pharmacist came to me and we went over medicine list. I had two new heart medications and I asked how would I get those filled. He confirmed with me my drug store that I use and said they would be called in. I got home on 4-16 and my drug store had no knowledge of the medicines. We spent a lot of time Thursday and Friday trying to find who to talk to at at Encompass but never got an answer so I was without those two medications for five days until my doctor made some phone calls. This was very frustrating and unprofessional.

Negative experience: The only reason this place is not getting one star is because one caseworker named Jennifer. She went above and beyond but everyone else failed us in almost every way. My sister and mom asked multiple times that my dad be moved back to his room because he was ready after sitting in the day room for over two hours. My sister then overheard a nurse saying she is not going to do anymore than she has to. We had very little communication the entire time he was there. Everyone kept saying they would call or have someone else call and then no one called. They truly have great intake people that reassure you it’s an amazing place but from experience I would absolute never send a family member there again.

Fantastic experience: Encompass was the best place for my rehab. The nursing staff was top notch as well as the pt and ot teams. Nursing had me at every turn. They were ready with meds on time and answered all my questions and answered my call light when I needed them. Jennie, my nurse was amazing above and beyond. Ana, the energizer nurse kept me on my toes. The PT team didn't push too hard but they inspired me to do my best and meet all my goals. Preston, you were a good task master and the rest of the teams, kudos to all. I don't know what or where I would be without all of you. So many amazing people working toward one goal to get me mobile again. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: Came here after suffering a severe case of cellulitis and it was a blessing compared to Hendrick South. We are from out of town and they had no issue accommodating my wife. I had great therapy team who worked with me to gain my strength back after over a month in the hospital. They have a therapy dog that goes around most days and visits almost everybody. RNs and LVNs had no issue with changing my dressing when needed and the food was really good.

Fantastic experience: New to this rehab. Everyone was professional, helpful and intent on helping me regain my mobility following surgery. I would return if needed and will recommend this facility to anyone I know needing their services.

Negative experience: Took my mom sge had a fracture on her arm from a fall, also has dementia and is spanish speaking only. Less than 24 hours later they call me and tell me that they couldnt help my mom, they came to that conclusion because she wouldnt cooperate with therapy, but probably because they had no one there that could speak spanish an with her dimentia she was scared and confused. I got them to try and give her a chance and not give up on her that quick, they did for 2 more days then i had to go get her. I was very dissapointed in them! They gave up on my mom because they didnt want to do the work. At least thats how i felt:(

Fantastic experience: My husband was there after he had a light stroke, he couldn’t feed his self when he went in or walk. He got the use of his hand and leg back and was released . He never used the wheelchair he was givin by Medicare! That was in 2012. He passed away in 2023.

Positive experience: If I had gone to encompass to begin with would have been much better and further along toward my goals than I am If Encompass had kept me longer I might have not gone back to level that I was from previous stay

Negative experience: Absolutely terrible Hospital. They value money over quality care and often times are short staffed due to the greed of the administration. They had one great employee who they chose to be rude too and abuse until they finally had enough and has since left! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! Seriously the management turnover is extremely high and they are so unprofessional and unorganized. Better off ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!!

Negative experience: You will wait and wait…. For any request. I’ve been told to just use my brief and then waited another hour for help. I know that you are busy, I know that I am in pain. I don’t want much, assistance getting up and down to bedside toilet, a snack as I am coughing too hard and to nauseous to eat.

Fantastic experience: My mother was put into Encompass Rehab hospital in May. Most people leave reviews when one bad thing happens so I’m going to brag on the staff because her stay was great! They were kind, professional, caring and truly cared to help her get better. The CEO, HR, quality director, the pharmacist, etc make daily rounds on the patients as well as the patients having constant supervision from nurses and therapists. My mother was very pleased with her stay. The building is clean, food was phenomenal and every single employee she saw truly cared about her wellbeing. Dr Hudman was also fantastic. He would listen to suggestions and answered questions so she could understand exactly what was expected and going on with her health care. 10/10 would recommend Encompass hospital to everyone. She got stronger and was able to safely return to her actives of daily living. I’ll never be able to thank them enough for her impeccable care.

Negative experience: Poor quality of care for my mother... neglectful on purpose

Negative experience: I went to see my mother. When I hugged her she said I get scared sometime. I said what's wrong? She said I can't breathe. I looked and this is how her oxygen was.... off!! For hours, and her legs were swollen from sitting in the chair so long without having them propped up. I let that go after telling several of the nurses. My sister went the next day, my mother had some drainage in her legs. She asked them to help with that. That may have upset them because when she came home the next day, both legs were wrapped with a lot of stuff.?? WhenI got her home, her wound care nurse was coming so I was going to let her check them. We didn't get that far. We ended up in the emergency room. She had a blood clot. There was nothing on her leg to show she needed them wrapped. That blood clot was no good for her. I believe they pretty much killed my mother. The nurse Denise sure seemed excited about her leaving when we left. My mother was looking very upset when I went to get her. She was so unhappy there. Had said one orderly had molested her. Which I believe now. They already had her stuff loaded up and packed on the cart when I went to pick her up. My mother said I wanted you to pack my things. We were about to leave and she said there's a gown under that blanket over there I think. Sure enough there was. I asked the nurse Denise and the guy that was in there if there was still anything left in her cabinet, and Denise opened it and shut it and said NOPE! She was being sarcastically rude.. Maybe some are good, but there was some horribly bad workers there then!!!! In June 2023.

Positive experience: My mom has stayed here multiple times for rehab. Facility is always clean and staff is very helpful. Best inpatient stay experience we’ve had.

Negative experience: I convinced my 88 yr old dad to admit self on late afternoon, Thursday, June 23, 2022 for 7 to 14 days in order to build up strength so he could stay at home alone. On Thursday, June 30th Dr Hudman & staff decided they were going to DC him on Sunday, July 3rd. Friday, July 1st he woke up nauseous, got out of shower just in time to get on toilet as he had diarrhea he told he they did ultrasound & discovered his bladder was full but he could NOT releave himself. I was told they would do tests to determine what was wrong. According to progress report & lab reports NO tests were done. They still d/c'ed him Sunday despite how weak he had gotten from Friday to Sunday & by Tuesday morning I had at his pcp who gave him iv fluids & antibiotics. NOW he has a catheter & back to where he was before going into Encompass. I'm scared after speaking with friend, her sister went from Encompass to hospital with possible kidney failure as they weren't refilling her water & making her wait 10 minutes before they'd come to help on toilet. My 89 yr old mom is having her hip replaced & dr wants her to be admitted to Encompass for rehab after dc'ed from hospital.

Negative experience: This facility is awful! My mom received little to no care while there. They were rude to her, ignored her call light, gave her her meds late... She was in awful condition when we pulled her out of there! She passed away two days later in the hospital. Don't let the fancy building fool you. I would NEVER send anyone to this facility again!

Negative experience: I broke my shoulder after a fall. The hospital sent me to Encompass for rehab and in a few short days Encompass sent me home and I fell again before I could get in my apartment and Encompass would NOT let me return to their rehab and I had to go back to the hospital! I would not recommend this place for any kind of treatment! I am really furious with the way they treated me

Positive experience: I like Encompass. After being in Silver Springs this is so much better. Their food is good...therapists are nice.. nurses and cna"s treat me nice. I usually don't have to ask for meds they just bring it. I am glad to be here.

Fantastic experience: Everyone there is so awesome and caring , they make sure u have it everything u need and is comfortable during your stay. The nurses do what they can to take care of your pain. Now I think I was just released to soon on the physical therapy part because im still my knee is still hurting bad and I feel like im not getting the care I need here I that I could be getting there ☹️☹️ !! Well maybe y'all will think about it and see . Thank y'all for being there for me y'all are awesome

Negative experience: My wife suffered a stroke,and was transferred from the hospital to Encompass,the rest of the experience was awfull the staff was very insensitive and seemed that most didn't want to be bothered with anything

Negative experience: Awful. Ridiculously awful. My stay at this facility last year was not only unprofessional, but dangerous. The worst of it? The half dozen times i have called the facility since, demanding someone answer for or be held accountable to dealing with the obvious issues i encountered. They have failed, on each occasion, to follow-up (promised) our conversations and even contact me back. HALF A DOZEN times since August. Unprofessional is being too generous.

Negative experience: Most unprofessional rehab ever. More concerned about paperwork, insurance, protocol the patient has no say on anything. You have to remind them CONSTANTLY about everything the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. They truly do not care.. The Encompass Rehabilitation Center in Bedford Texas is million times better....don't know what their problem is here in Abilene. I see the staff sitting around allot and alarms are going off everywhere they just ignore them I hated being there stressed out to the max. Go anywhere but here for Rehab!

Fantastic experience: Encompass are the only ones who helped me with my dad after the hospital had released him early from surgery! A big thank you to the nurses, the admission staff, social workers, doctors and everyone else, we love you encompass

Negative experience: The LVN's on staff treated my grandmother so disrespectfully and at one point during the night yanked the covers off of her. They were uncompassionate and uncaring towards my grandmother and her needs.

Negative experience: On 4/16/18 care giver ask my grandpa to lay down for bed an my grandfather said he was not ready the guy told him it manditory for his bed time an picked him up an forced him in bed insted of talking to him an convincing him to get him in bed he is old an grumpy but the guy left a bruse on his arm they said they will wright him up but i think there should be a 0 tolerance for any elderly to be treated this way i do how ever thank the staff for helping my grandpa get better
