Negative experience: Horrible, nasty place!! Employees are rude and untruthful. This place is a very last resort for individuals who absolutely can’t afford a descent place for their family members.

Negative experience: Coronado is the worst nursing home in Abilene. My Grandmother was there a few months ago & the care there is horrible.The Don Lisa & admin are awful leaders. You can go to the Don & report things that’s going on & everything is brushed under the rug. Wanda is no better she does what Lisa tells her to do. That place would be better if you would get rid of them. Lisa has a very bad attitude & talks to her employees & residents bad. For future references don’t take your family there till they are gone if you want good care

Fantastic experience: Coronado is ran by such a sweet group of people. They genuinely care. The residents are like their own family. You can tell they love what they do!

Negative experience: I am a resident.yes I've had to deal with neglect,or being too afraid at times of the staff.forced take the COVID vacc. Now we have a new administrator, so far he has kept his word. One evening he even did CNA work. That man won my respect that night.now we have plumbing problems resulting in flooding and cold showers. I've talked with everyone possible and get told corp. Won't pay to re-plumb b/c it's too expensive. Any concerns are swept under the rug.especially if they cost money.

Negative experience: Wanda is a horrible administrator rude to her employees rude to the residence. Lisa is a horrible DON in Nursing doesn’t care about her residence rude to her employees as well. I would not recommend to send family members there.

Negative experience: The short staffed home was aloof to patients and let's them leave on their own even mentally ill then call family to say can't take them back.

Negative experience: I can't speak to the condition of the facility or my mother's experience there. Worst place for people with out of state relatives. My mother has been locked in this nursing home for almost a year, with no site of them working towards finding her the next step living situation. Since my aunts and family refuse to put my name on any of the lists, I have to call a nurses station to try to talk to my mother. Every time, without fail, they need to transfer me to an unattended and unlabeled voicemail box. They never give her the phone or even know who I'm talking about. I had to call the police for a wellness check to get a call back. I was told they keep cutting staff and that is why I can't get a hold of my mother. No matter how many times they transfer me or put me on endless hold. I have no access to my mother.

Fantastic experience: I am speechless for words. The team at Coronado truly are caring individuals. I am proud to be part of the SLP team. The support that the nursing department receives from the upper leadership team is one not well heard of. The nurses and CNAs care for the residents as their own family and take pride in the work that they provide. The facility has come along way since I started almost 4 years ago and I only see it getting better. Thanks to all those that give their time to our residents and all the hard work that we all provide to each other and to the residents. You can see it in their smiles.

Fantastic experience: I have worked at Coronado for over 4 years through good times and rough times. We are continuing to work daily and improve as a team for our residents.

Negative experience: I had a good friend in there for rehab and was being starved to death. And is now in the hospital on hospice.

Negative experience: The kitchen area is dirty and the dishwasher area has water leaking overflow causing a whole puddle and they gossip 24/7. very unprofessional and rude Behavior from nurses that work there if you decide to work here I suggest you look elsewhere.

Negative experience: This is NOT a good place to have your family members I was recently informed of an employee by the name of Janeen Fuller is very rude to the clients and comes to work high or intoxicated I had a family member staying there until just yesterday because nothing was done about Mrs.Fuller being high and intoxicated on the job. I will never have any of my family members there again

Negative experience: My mother has been there since the early days of Covid. I believe many of the staff do care, but I also think the aides may be overworked and underpaid because they don’t seem to take much care. Every time they have moved my mother to a different room (and there have been many times), her things have been thrown into the closet without any care, and clothes, blankets and other things are missing. I know many of the moves are due to covid outbreaks, but Mother was just moved to yet another room, and I suspect it’s because she had some nice shelving in her room, and someone paid some extra to take her room. She is now so miserable, she calls me daily to get her out. I’m out of state, so it’s frustrating and heartbreaking to feel so helpless. The new administrator did seem very promising at first, paying a visit to my mother and calling me on her GrandPad tablet. But I have begged him multiple times to locate her new phone and ensure it is working, as well as to follow up with her glasses she was supposed to get a year ago after losing hers. He has ignored my messages. And now, without notice or reason, they moved her again and THREW her things in the closet. Last time I went, it took me two hours to straighten up the mess. I’ve had enough, and I’m moving her as soon as possible. Oh, also, they no longer have a receptionist, so when I call, usually it goes to a nurses station, and no one answers. It’s so frustrating. Now I have to fly back and move her elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Okay so full disclosure ...I am employed here. I have been on both sides of the coin though. My uncle is special needs and was placed here when the sister facility I had been working for could no longer keep him from getting hurt related to his lack of boundaries. This was in 2019-2020. It felt awful inside.You know how you can feel tension or distress? Then when Covid hit both facilities everything was just frantic. No matter what anyone did -it felt like running a marathon all while not getting anywhere. Now post -pandemic (for the most part) businesses in all categories are struggling for staff and customer service is like a brand new concept. With all of that said when I made the decision to transfer ,I was a little scared. I AM SO GLAD I TRANSFERRED HERE! I have worked some of the same hours as I worked at The Oaks at Radford Hills but I feel far less stressed and more appreciated. Dont get me wrong I miss my residents at the Oaks but I Love the team I've joined. When you are welcomed into the building, we may not be perfect but we are ALL trying to make it better. Every staff member I have dealt with thus far has really been trying no matter what. Management her understands that everything starts with support from management and The DON and the Administrator alike have been seen (actually) working the floor as well as HR, Receptionist, Admissions,and myself as ADON. Looking forward to my future here.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful nursing facility! I was hesitant at first because I had heard things about the last owners, but the new owners and management are fantastic! My husbands cousin resides here and gets wonderful care.

Fantastic experience: It may be one of the older nursing homes in town, but it has the best staff I've ever seen. The most compassionate care and respect towards each resident is something money can't buy. I would without a doubt choose this facility for my loved one.

Fantastic experience: I've worked here for about 4 years and I absolutely love it. We have an amazing team, from floor staff all the way up to corporate, that is family oriented, that just keeps getting better, and we work hard to provide our residents the care they need and deserve.

The management team has come together during our recent times and ensured all residents were taken care of and happy. We love what we do and it shows in our everyday activities/routines. Fantastic experience: This review is for Gloria Nabarro. She works so hard and swiftly. She’s wonderful with my ex husband. The other nurses and CNA’s are great. Gloria just makes it more personal. There are always things that can be better. But overall I am happy with the staff.

Negative experience: They mistreat dementia patients. Broken hips and bruises. This place should be shut down.

Negative experience: Worst place ever. I don’t know if my mom will ever recover after being there. She has already had to go to hospital because of wounds she received in there. Her dentures were lost. She didn’t have half her clothes. Half the time they don’t even have hot water. If you call to talk to your family member in there they always say they will take a message and call you back but they never do. The aids mostly sit around playing with their phones. Even if you ask them for their help you can’ t get them up to help..you can ask the main personal there something and they never know but will get back with you, well you can forget that because they never do. This place needs to be shut down..

Negative experience: This was the worst nursing center ever. They never answer the phone, thank God we got my father out of there. They did not send his medications home. They didn't even send him his own clothes. I don't know who they belong to. When he came home he was in worse condition than when he left. He was blood raw. He was also itching all over. His skin was peeling all over his back and his bald head. Please do not send your family there. I am not some discruntle person. I just could not believe, that anyone with a soul could treat someone like that. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR FAMILY THERE, IT IS HIRRHORR.

Negative experience: I live here only because i hsve nowhere to go the neglect is astounding annd they dont care. I think i was better off homeless. I regret moving here.

Fantastic experience: I received a warm welcome from Coronado staff and residents. Coronado offers physical therapy and WoundCare. The cleaning staff serves each room each day. Coronado also has organized activities - bingo, fitness fun, birthday parties, movie time, bible study, smoke breaks etc. Additionally, the nursing staff are professional, compassionate and provide patient-centered care.

Fantastic experience: Amazing facility!! All new staff and management! Everyone is friendly and nice, and residents are all so very sweet! Such an amazing facility to work for.

Negative experience: Terrible place, reeks worse than the most depressing of hospital wings. Patients here are treated like criminals or mental patients (quite similar to each other), and I for one do not like that my great grandmother had to be here for a time until we found a place better... that wasn't even in the town at the time.

Positive experience: The nursing home has changed all new staff. Pleasant environment helpful staff. Whole new staff caring considerate. Upper management cares about residents and staff. This last week alone for nurses week they bought meals for staff or personally made meals for them. There was a gift every day for each nurse yes it could be better but it could be a whole lot worse

Negative experience: When my nanny was there, i'd visit. The staff was rude and made sure I felt unwelcome

Negative experience: Please do NOT take your loved ones here, these are shady people and they DO NOT CARE about their patients. They barely feed them, my loved one was covered from head to toe in bruises NO PHONE CALL OR EXPLANATION, multiple trips to the ER, NO CALL, NO EXPLANATION. Honestly every person I have spoke to hid things and cover up everything. I pray this place gets shut down before someone gets really hurt. These are not good people and I hope and pray everyone does their research on them before you choose. THEIR IS NOTHING good on the internet about them and I feel horrible I did not do my research first before I placed my loved one in their hands!

Negative experience: 1) After my wife died, no one at the facility even bothered to call me and wish me condolences on my wife's death. THAT is INEXCUSABLE. 2) Most all of the food there is beyond terrible. My poor wife almost always had problems getting something even worthy of trying to eat. We had to bring food in to her more times than not. 3) At least two of the nurses there were very bitchy and uncooperative. 4) At least four of the nurses aides were whiners and were not at all helpful, or kind to my wife.

Negative experience: I worked here as a nurse aide for four months. Absolutely have never worked in a more hostile environment. I know most places you have your usual workplace drama...whatever...this was 1000x worse. You're on your own if treated unfairly or rudely by upper management. No one will do anything about it. There are alot of good aides that work there. I will say that. But thats all they got goin for them and if it wasnt for them they wouldnt have a facility at all. That should be remembered by upper management who treats their aides like trash. Disrespected on a daily basis. Singled out is the word I'll use. After an incident where I needed light duty I was promised it. Only to come in one morning to find a certain person in staff development had put me on the heaviest hall we have! I called her to try and manage the situation and she said either work that hall or quit. I was pushed out. I had no choice to leave. I was not about to injure my back further. She knew what she was doing. Which is fine. I'm on to bigger and better things. If you choose to work here....good luck. If you choose to bring y our family members out here...well I hope you get one of the good aides on their hall. I may also add...If i or my license is messed with in any way shape or form I will go to the correct authority to file on them for hostile work enviornment as well as the many rules I know that facility breaks on a daily basis.

Negative experience: I, as a nurse aide, have applied to coronado 3 times. Once, my license was allowed to expire so they refused to hire me. The second time, while still employed, I was told on TWO seperate occasions, after calling them multiple times, some one would get back to me but they never did. The third time I applied I called once again while, yes, they were hiring i was told they couldn't offer me a position. To this day, besides the expired license, I don't know why they won't even give me a chance.
