The Center offers a variety of therapies to improve the growth and development of children with special needs including Occupational, Physical, Speech, Aquatic, ABA, and Recreation Therapy. The center also has an inclusive preschool.
The Shorkey Center provides individualized educational programs that include early childhood education and therapeutic services. These programs are designed to help children with special needs.
The Shorkey Center is a non-profit organization that will educate and nurture young people with special needs in an inclusive educational environment.
The Shorkey Center recognizes and values the unique traits, experiences, and perspectives of each individual in order to create a more diverse and inclusive environment. We believe that by working together, we can provide every child with the opportunity to reach their full potential.
At Instruction Junction Inclusive Preschool, we serve children aged 2 to 5, both with and without disabilities. Our goal is to prepare every student for success in Kindergarten and beyond, socially, emotionally, and academically. To achieve this, we use elements of the Frog Street Curriculum and Circle (Children's Learning Institute) Curriculum.
We offer a very low teacher-student ratio to meet the individual needs of the child. All of our classes follow daily schedules and are provided breakfast, lunch, and snack. Our caring, compassionate, loving teachers are supported by our therapists to provide exceptional services. Children needing therapy can receive services during the day while on campus.
A referral and prescription from a physician is required for Therapy Services. These include Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Aquatic Therapy, and Feeding Therapy.
Recreation therapy programs for children with special needs are available without a referral from a physician. We offer one-time events, camps, and ongoing programs.
The program provides 12 weeks of support for families to learn about communication, challenging behaviors, and social emotional learning. It is open to caregivers and children aged 2-5.
Shorkey Center: Reviews
Negative experience: I'm certain this daycare is selective about the children they enroll. I have a daughter with autism and ADHD, and after waiting two years, I got a call saying they had a spot available. However, during the assessment, they told me my child would be put on a waiting list, which made me feel like we were being denied service. This daycare used to be great back in 2016, but it seems things have changed. Only gave a star because I had to .
Negative experience: Waited 2 years on an appointment, following a referral. They finally contact me to set it up, then call back to say my child is 6 years old and they don't help 6 year old children. Do not waste your time with this business if your child needs help.

Fantastic experience: I love going to Shorkey. It's great place for my Grandson. It helps him on behavior and speech. He loves coming here. Help him learn how to share, pick up behind his self. They have good therapist. Try them and see what they offer. Just call r go bye. There awesome ♥️♥️ God bless you all ♥️
Positive experience: Swimming lessons at the Shorkey Center has been great for my son.
Negative experience: They had to pay for the 5 stars before this comment. I will see if this post is deleted. Parent beware they don't do any real accommodation that will help your child or you. They are just babysitter. They are not trained to deal with kids that are special needs. If your child is a behavior problem they will kick them out because again I repeat the are not trained. The manager does not have a clue.
