Spindletop Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

Fantastic experience: I visited the facility for the second time, this time with my family, as we’re hoping to place my grandmother in the Memory Support Unit. Just like during my first visit, Natalya was amazing patient, knowledgeable, and willing to answer every question and concern we had. She truly made us feel supported. The facility itself was very clean, well-kept, and welcoming. We appreciated every warm greeting and interaction. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: I hear they recently started making MUCH NEEDED changes and I am SOOOO SOOO happy to hear. I wish it could have came sooner than later but later is better than never! They have some of the most amazing residents and they deserved better then they were getting ! I hope they keep speaking up for themselves and taking it to the appropriate people, other than the ones who WERE NOT LISTENING! No residents should ever be neglected, harassed, left unbathed for months, etc. For some of these people this is there last stop. Imagine if it were you or your child, mother, grandmother, etc. Let's make sure our facilities, ALL of our facilities are showing compassion and love to these residents and to EACHOTHER!!! THERES NO ROOM FOR BAD APPLES OR EVIL PEOPLE IN OUR NURSING HOMES !!! These residents need love and compassion more now in their lives then ever before ! Way to go Spindletop for doing the right thing and taking the first steps to make a change !!! Keep it up!!!

Fantastic experience: The staff is very caring, friendly and helpful, the residents are treated as family and with respect. My mother was here for therapy after hip surgery, The staff was very attentive, caring, they made us feel like family, therapy did an amazing job as well as the nurses and aides in caring for my mom.

Fantastic experience: My brother was at spindle top hills he came from Chicago upon our arrival he needed hygiene attention The young lady that does transportation stepped in and took care of us I highly commend her for her care her patients and her professionalism this is what I call going above and beyond our stay there was very good the nurses were so compassionate about their jobs most of all I would like to thank Miss Natalia and Ms Rhonda the social worker who went above and beyond to help our stay there be pleasant and transparent as possible these two ladies went above and beyond for my brother and our family I thank them so much and tire staff was excellent I would bring anyone of my loved ones back

I visit often and have seen the care she has provided and it’s amazing! She connects with the patients on a new level, has a caring heart and has so much compassion for her patients! My aunt has been to 2 facilities and I have never witnessed a better aid! She is wonderful and we enjoy her so much! A blessing she is!!

Fantastic experience: My mother is a resident here and I am very happy with the care she receives. The staff does really care about their residents! And they have some excellent nurses and nurse aides. I want to thank all of them for providing my mother with quality care!

Negative experience: The staff was really rude to me and are quick to slander, and gossip about their patients families that they know nothing about! Very unprofessional and I haven't returned to see my mom because of it!

Fantastic experience: Natalya was very helpful. She was available when needed. The walk through it was very clean and smelled clean. Very friendly environment. I will be looking forward in seeing how the stay will be.

Negative experience: My mom broke her leg and had surgery and was admitted to Spindletop for physical therapy. Overall, The stay was OK. My mom did call me one Sunday around 11 AM And asked me to call the office (Which took around 15 minutes for me to be able to get in touch with anyone ) because her call button had fallen and she said that she had been sitting in a soiled diaper for several hours and no nurses had been in to see her. It was also slightly difficult to get in touch with any of the nurses that were in charge of my mother’s care, I am my mother’s medical power of attorney and I was not informed when my mom got put on antibiotics due to having a UTI. She does have diabetes, so the UTI could have come from that, but my mom told me that she was also left in her soiled diapers many times. Once my mom got home, she told me that there were some nurses that would come late at night that were very rough with her and my mom felt that she may have been touched inappropriately. I will say that anytime I spoke with any of the nurses or any of the staff, everybody was nothing but kind. The physical therapists were great with her, and Miss Donna was nothing but helpful. I understand that there are staffing issues and many other things play into the level of care that is given there. Something has to be figured out to make sure that these elderly people who are not able to walk are getting checked on frequently and not being left in a soiled underwear for several hours on End.

Fantastic experience: The staff truly care about their residents. I visit this facility a few times each week and I see staff engaging with residents and communicating care needs.

Negative experience: Lied about my dad dying nurse and don of nursing lied please don’t send your family here, times not matching caught her in lies ,made a statement to me about she been at place for six weeks ,covering for her nurses , many time I been to see My dad and his oxygen was not working ,also didn’t say one time we’re sorry about your dad but no can of care cna are nurse not checking every 2 hours just unfit

Fantastic experience: Most of the staff that work here are GOOD AND HONEST EMPLOYEES DURING NORMAL WORK HOURS. BUT if you try to call after 6pm on weekdays or on weekends Goodluck and if someone does happen to answer they will either put you in a department where you didn't ask for or they will just flat out hang up on you.and that's the only complaint that I have . 11/16/23. I have to add when these people put on a dinner that's special such as THANKSGIVING OR CHRISTMAS IT'S AWESOME and have to say if you're not full when finished, well it's not their fault because the kitchen puts out a full order of groceries. My wife is a resident and she usually can't eat a lot at a time and sometimes has to eat a snack between meals, not after eating the THANKSGIVING MEAL she ate. Almost every thing on her plate. A SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL THE EMPLOYEES WHO PREPARED THIS DINNER EVENT.. PS. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE CHRISTMAS DINNER......

Negative experience: It's a bad place how they treat there patients there u have to help them yet they don't!!!! Pfft shut this place down asap

Negative experience: The worst place I have ever had to deal with. Leaving my dad in a wheelchair for 12 hours at a time and never changing him. This has been reported more that 3 times and Nothing gets changed. They skip some of his meals because they forgot to bring him a tray. They left him in a dirty dipper all day long. We called state on them two times. Had one nurses aide fired for abusing him, and it was caught on tape. We have tried to move him to another home, and for some reason I think they must have us blacklisted us because another nursing home won’t even return our calls after they got his records. I am totally fed up with the miss treatment, and nothing ever being changed.. It’s all talk and no action.

Fantastic experience: It was with a very heavy heart that we had to place our mom in a Nursing home. We never wanted that for her. It took several months and tours of several facilities before we found Spindletop Hill! Walking into Spindletop Hill was a breath of fresh air! There are not enough words to express how much we appreciate the staff! They are more than amazing! Our mom is very satisfied and content, and it’s all thanks to the staff who care for her every single day. Denise is an RN who takes so much pride in her job and cares so deeply for the CNA’s who work under her supervision. And those CNA‘s are absolutely awesome! There is also CeeCee who is so compassionate and caring. There are just too many names to mention but my mom’s favorite is Sharon! I can tell you right now that everyone who works at Spindletop Hill has only the best interest of their residents at heart! Donielle, Brook, Jessica, Fanetta, Toya, Teresa and every single staff member goes above and beyond to care for the residents! Thank you to all of you from the bottom of my heart! I’m sure I have forgotten several names but just know that you are just as amazing as everyone else! Thank you for making our mom, so happy! And because you make our mom so happy, you are making us so happy too!!!

Fantastic experience: I would like to recognize Demetrell, LVN and Euretha, LVN Care management nurses for Spindletop Nursing and Rehab Center. They both demonstrate the core values of Excellence and Respect for the residents and fellow co-workers. Thank you for all that you do for the residents ,staff and the building .Spindletop is lucky to have you both as part of there great team!

Fantastic experience: My sister has been a patient in the Memory Unit for at least 3 years. The staff on that unit has gone an extra mile. Due to staff off with Covid or family, the others are working doubles. Even leaving their love ones at home. Each time you enter theirs smile, or you are greeted. The patient working on table activities or playing games. Each holiday the staff gives the patient a party. I always share with them Thank You! The unit is cleaned and free of odor. You can not tell it a Rehab Center. The patients appear to be happy, dressed neatly, hair comb and the staff on the Unit does the ladies nails. Yes, me and my family are very please and happy with the staff on the Memory Unit. The staff has a lot to deal with the different behaviors and come to work daily and work lots of doubles, due to Covid. As I first enter the building I greeted with smiling faces. They always follow the Covid guidelines before visiting on the unit. I just love the monthly Happy Birthday yard sign. Once again the building is cleaned and free of odor. Thanks! Fantastic experience: Absolutely the best facility I have ever visited! The building itself is beautiful, clean, and organized from the inside out. Spindletop staff is so welcoming and reassuring throughout the whole process. Activities are always going on and the residents are always having fun. Truly a place that makes it feel like home!

Fantastic experience: I have been an employee for this facility for over 11 years. I have loved every minute of working there. I can say without a doubt, pt care is this facility’s top priority. I have always said I would never work in an environment that I don’t support or trust 100%. The length of my employment says just that, I support trust and believe in them 100%.
