Baptist Beaumont Behavioral Health Center: Reviews
Negative experience: If I could this place negative I would. Don’t ever send a loved one there, you’ll leave angry for them. They don’t think I’m serious, from the nurses to the nps to the drs but I’m reporting their licenses. Incompetent, constant miscommunication. The lady who is the Dr/NP just makes up stuff that isn’t even true or happen. Weird, unprofessional. I pray for anyone who gets sent there unwillingly
Negative experience: I was admitted, as a military member seeking aid, and while I was getting my blood drawn one of the staff members tried to sexually take advantage of me. Stood my ground, made a report and had to get out of there. Would not recommend at all. Some of the staff are kind, while others have horrible attitudes.
Negative experience: Texas Children staff tried contacting them through several different methods so that my daughter would be closer to home. They NEVER answered or responded to them. Very frustrating, seeing as how now my daughter has to stay in Houston at an in patient facility when we live all the way in Orange, Texas. DO BETTER !!!!!
Fantastic experience: Keke was the absolute best person ever. She was so helpful when I called about my little brother and I could tell by the tone in her voice she ACTUALLY cared. I feel like it's hard finding good employees that work in mental health but she was beyond amazing. If I could give her 10 stars, I would. She needs a RAISE!! I can tell she loves what she does AND cares about the patients
Negative experience: I’ve been here TWICE and it was horrible everytime I never got the help I needed and I was a minor they diagnosed me with PTSD and didn’t even ask me about any traumas and they over medicated me twice the doctor only talked to me for maybe 10 minutes and said I had PTSD without even knowing any of my traumatic experiences and gave me Zoloft which gave me horrible brain fog I still haven’t got the help I needed all I ended up doing was wasting my time with rude people
Negative experience: I was placed here a couple years ago as a MINOR, and I have NO RECOLLECTION OR MEMORY of my stay in the slightest… Despite being aware of my phobia with medication and past trauma due to medication, they still gave me narcotic medication which caused me to sleep. My mother and grandmother insist that they attempted to get in touch with me every night but staff told them that I was already in bed. On the day I was finally released, it was bc my mother and grandmother insisted on it. When they picked me up, I was slurring my words and falling asleep with food in my mouth. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!
Negative experience: My child got diagnosed with adhd and odd. Was there a week and was still hurting his self there, they just sent him back on his way without finding a solution. He currently takes medication and there electronic system is down so therefore he can’t get his medication and they sent him home with prescription scripts knowing you can’t fill a controlled substance with paper slips it has to be sent electronically. If your child is in need of help do not take them to this facility
Positive experience: I was directed here by someone who heard my concern. My mental capacity had reached its limit and I really just wanted to be heard. But if I see doctors and still feel this way, who should I even trust with the answers? That's when I was told to go to College Street. 3080. I'll admit, after my stay I was surprised to learn that there were Doctors, Science, and Medicine here. About Four, to be precise. It must be due to the age of the facility. The building seems to be very important. In under a week I left feeling practically cured. One of the most painful mental afflictions in the world was not only diagnosed, but put at ease in my own mind. I really want to call these people here miracle workers. If you or someone you love needs help, trust this place.
Negative experience: I’ve seen a counselor twice, paid cash in full both times. Today I get a bill that I owe 287.00 I have no idea what it’s for but it says 60 minutes of counseling at 447.00 per hour??!!!!!! I was never quoted that!
Negative experience: This place did Absolutely NOTHING FOR MY MOM, THE 10 DAYS SHE WAS HERE EXCEPT CHARGE HER INSURANCE.. SHE LEFT IN THE SAME BAD MENTAL STATE SHE ARRIVED HERE IN
Negative experience: BURN THIS PLACE TO THE GROUND Loved one was admitted, bullied by staff and patients, lied to about the duration of their stay, lied to about the rules that they were supposed to follow, kept in a room with a rattling and noisy AC that they couldn’t sleep in (they promised to move my loved one, and didn’t). Treat patients like prisoners, withhold access to water, constantly lie… They gave my loved one raw chicken to eat, at one point. This should be illegal. People should be behind bars for this
Negative experience: Took my husband 3 pair of wrangler Jeans out there, when he came home it was 2 pair. Just bought them. His initials are on the inside. Also missing 1 black sock & one grey sock. Had a guy hang up on me. Staff is rude!!! Won't even let you go back in the patients room. Be careful what you send out there. What are they hiding!!!
Negative experience: They are really rude my bf is in that place and they are keeping him there for no reason there nothing wrong with him to be there
Negative experience: Place has mold trashy gloomy depressing didn’t help with my pts and scary and the doctor told me that I had something wrong when it wasn’t even that worst place ever only sandy and that guy likes basketball is nice everyone else rude and mean the only good part is visiting hours except that every thing else is trash
Fantastic experience: In an out minor injurys
Negative experience: ******* IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOURSELF OR YOUR LOVED ONES: DO NOT COME HERE! THESE PEOPLE ARE HORRIBLE INDIVIDUALS THAT WILL MAKE EVERY PROBLEM WORSE! ******* worst place on earth. shut them down. they are scum
Negative experience: Not amazing. I've been there over 3 times. Same day staff i'm in love with the day staff. Night staff on the other hand they change there people every night where day staff stays the same. They woke me up at like 6 am to get my blood drawn, i love piercings tattoos shots everything with needles but when they woke me up took me to the day room to get it done i started feeling dizzy and asked if i could be excused to go to the bathroom. The nurse sicked the needle into my arm once didn't get anything from stick one. After the second stick thats when i was feeling dizzy i went to the restroom didn't even make it i passed out at my room door. I passed out from the medicine i have received the night before. At the time i had a social worker at the time and the only time she was able to answer the phone was during the day and we only are able to receive/ make calls at night. So i was never in contact with my social worker. I feel like the only person i liked there at the hospital was the grandma that would come every weekday. And yet i still had a bad side with her. Like i said i went there 3 plus times so maybe 5 times im sober to this day my first visit was 2020 i wanna say before COVID so i was i was 14 my first visit and now im 18 and im so happy to be sober! Don't recommend to send anyone here for there mental health unless when they get out a week later you want to here how there visit the staff are horrible! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!
Negative experience: Absolutely horrible ~ my loved one is admitted as we speak ( involuntary ) & yes the reviews of the staff being rude are beyond correct to say the least! I am fixing to start reporting this place ~ the staff ~ the conditions ~ the improper care/treatment(s) ~ the inadequate competence & muchhhhh more as soon as everything opens in the morning!
Negative experience: They gave us little to no time for activities. They put us on drugs and infront of a TV screen for hours only to be fed food that one patient couldn't eat because she was allergic. The staff is great but it doesn't make sense how having our face in a screen high on meds is going to make us better. We hardly ever got to see the counselor and we asked for her and the people that take care of the meds and are rude to the patients and are NOT mature. But Sandy is nice
Fantastic experience: They took good care of me.
Fantastic experience: They got my son on the right medication after having a horrible experience at another facility!! My son is actually doing a lot better after coming home from here. They stayed in touch with us, called us daily and gave updates. Was very impressed with them. Yes they have rules the kids need to follow, and that’s good because everything has rules. Yes they spent time in the group room watching a movie but that gave him time to think about what he did to get to where he was. I would highly recommend them!!
Negative experience: A big joke! Also Was out of my network! They did WAY MORE HARM TO ME then good. Not one thing good came from this/ and they do not LISTEN. Yet IM getting a big bill. HORRIBLE
Negative experience: Nobody called me(husband) when they forcefully addmited my wife...I called for 2 days and I was told my wife was Not there which was a Lie. She finally called me and didn't know where she was taken Being legally blind it's hard for her to read signs and muchless the paper work she was given to sign. Now after a week in the bahavioral center they won't release her....they are doing her no good she is frightened which isn't good on a person who is bipolar, manic depressant and also boarderline schytsophrinc Oh and BTW Type-1 Dieabetic that is on an insulin pump which she isn't on because They are giving her manual and have her blood sugar high then low which isn't good on her entire body !!!! This is the Beyond Unbelievible !!! Shame on You People !!! I PROMISE YOU THIS YOU WILL BE REPORTED TO HEALTH AND HUMAN SEVICES ASAP !!!!
Negative experience: I will not tolerate a rude staff! I am very friendly with everyone, until they get unfriendly with me! And then you will SEE RUDE. I need help with my temper and bi polar please help me. I need the correct medication.
Fantastic experience: I have to admit, it is strange to give a behavioral health center such a high review. Overall, my experience with the staff was great! They were kind, attentive and I felt truly seen by them. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't perfect, but really, I would send a loved one here in a heartbeat. Thanks!

Negative experience: The worst place to go because staff is rude.and very unprofessional .
Negative experience: My wife was here, she fell and broke her ankle in 3 different spots, they allowed her to sit there for hours with a broke ankle, they refused treatment until hours later, this placed should be closed all the way down
Negative experience: not only did i get slapped for having my feet on the chair, this place was just overall a terrifying experience.
Fantastic experience: My grandmother is attending the "Tranquility Program" with Harry and it is outstanding. She has received exceptional care and personalized attention to deal with her ongoing issues related to mental illness and addiction. Harry is attentive and understanding and one of the best individuals that she has dealt with in her long standing battle against her mental illness. She also had a weeks long stay at their facility a few weeks back and was surprised at how pleasant the experience was despite the reasons for her being there. I would absolutely recommend this hospital along with the programs that they offer through the hospital for people struggling with depression, mental illness, anxiety, and addiction issues.
Negative experience: Do not go to this place it's horrible. There billing service is horrible, and the staff there don't care about there job. I never saw a doctor. When you were supposed to see one. I was overdosed on medications they put me on don't come here!!!
Fantastic experience: Had outpatient surgery January 28th The nurses were so kind and patient I just wish I knew their Names So I can tell them thank you so much
Fantastic experience: Don't be scared, they will treat you right. I went for uncontrollable suicidal thoughts. They got my medications corrected and found the right combination. I spent a week and I'm so much better now. If they can get me right, then they can definitely help you or your family member. The staff is nice. Treat them with respect. Also if you have any clothes, feel free to donate.
Fantastic experience: Had outpatient surgery January 28th The nurses were so kind and patient I just wish I knew their Names So I can tell them thank you so much
Fantastic experience: Tranquility group here has been helping me so much. Great caring and professional help. Loving it.
Fantastic experience: The tranquility program is top notch. Thus program has been very helpful. This program is the through baptist hospital.
Fantastic experience: My experience has been excellent so far, started out at Senior care inpatient and now at outpatient Tranquility program. The life skills they are teaching me have been excellent. I definitely recommend these facilities for care.
Fantastic experience: The Tranguility program is a great asset to Beaumont. I've had several family members go through the facility with good outcomes. The staff are very professional and kind. I recommend this facility for care.
Positive experience: Tranquility: Fantastic program, could use a little more subtle therapeutic structure and more space for the rooms - would love some renovations to open the space up. Harry is a great therapist and is growing very quickly at his craft. However, he does, from a client perspective, need a helping hand since he is the single therapist in the program, excluding a recreational activities tech. Major improvements need to be made in order to have a stamp in a city like Beaumont but I have faith it will improve under his supervision.
Negative experience: This is Your Chance !!! Experience "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" in real life. Yes..the Hospital does exist. Right Here...Right Now...In Beaumont, Texas. If you want to see violent patients get in your face while the staff giggles...then you can not beat this place. If you thrill at the chance to be called ugly names by the tech staff, (India, Torrel) then head on over. If you want to see your Spirit crushed and your hope in Humanity gone, baby, this is the place for you. Dehumanizing, Humiliating, and evil...this place beats it all. I hate it. I hate it for the hurting people seeking true help, I hate it for their families, and I hate it for the lives it will claim through cruelty, sadism, and incompetence. Please, if you have a loved one in trouble, send them to a reputable hospital in Houston. Do your research and if you or a love one ends up here, transfer out as quickly as possible.
Negative experience: my dad took my mother to the emergency room because the nursing home said that to admit her that she would have to stay for 3 days admitted to the hospital... 7 hours wait and they admitted her to the behavioral unit as involuntary (which my dad has power of attorney for medical) they never told him until wed. this (which he brought her there monday) we go today at visiting hours and she has a fat lip, bruise on her chin, and shivering so much that she can't hold a picture... which she did not have this when she was admitted or on Wed. afternoon... I would NOT take my loved one to this facility...
Negative experience: Years ago it was good. Last visit you stayed either in your room or in group area. Never went anywhere else including for meal. I found it to be dirty. The best doctor tbere has since left.
Fantastic experience: I've been inpatient for bipolar disorder numerous times. The entire staff is caring and attentive. This is a top notch facility. They respect each individual as a human being.
Fantastic experience: Great Staff and wonderful psychiatrist
Negative experience: This place is the worst. Do not place anyone in here that cannot care for themselves. It needs to be shut down. I had a family member in here for three days and I took them out. Every time I went to see them they were sitting in filth and only when I brought it to the staff’s attention only they were cleaned up cared for.
Negative experience: This place is a joke....we waited for 7 hours for them to send home a family member that was clearly near death....I will never go back to that place again ever!!!
