Hearing Center at West Texas Rehabilitation Center

Positive experience: My elderly mother has been without her hearing aids for 3 weeks while sent for repair. She called multiple times to check when she could expect her hearing aid back. She was told by the receptionist (person who answered the phone) in a very rude tone that she didn't know when the hearing aid would be back. My mother asked for a loaner which has been no problem in the past and again was told by the same person with the same rude tone, no. My mother was not called to tell her the hearing aid was in the office. She called and was told it was there, she asked to pick it up and was told with a rude tone, No. You need an appointment and we can't see you until next Friday at 11:00. My mother asked if she had to wait a whole week and was told yes, she said she was in Cardio Rehab on Fridays until 11:30 and asked if she could come at 12 and was rudely told no. This service, this rude behavior and this unwillingness to assist an elderly lady is really unacceptable. I would love to discuss this with someone who has the authority to prevent this from happening to others. Update: after going to West Texas Rehab Hearing, I found them to be apologetic and helpful in getting my mother seen and her hearing aids repaired and given back to her. I appreciated the care Connie Stephens provided my mother and her sincere desire for the patients of their clinic to be treated with professional care.

Negative experience: DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT PAY THIS OFFICE ANYTHING!! THEY ARE SCAMMING PEOPLE TAKING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR HEARING AIDS CLAIMING THERE IS A WARRANTY BUT THERE IS NO I REPEAT NO WARRANTY!! YOU ARE OBLIGATED TO PAY HUNDREDS OF EXTRA OUT OF POCKET MONEY FOR ANY AND ALL REPLACEMENT FOR HEARING AIDS!! A REAL WARRANTY COVERS EVERYTHING NO EXTRA FEES REQUIRED THEREFOR THAT IS NOT AT ALL A WARRANTY ITS A SCAM!! MY DAUGHTER HAS A WARRANTY UNTIL 2029 AND LOST HER HEARING AID NOW THIS AGENCY TELLS ME I NEED TO PAY $500 UPFRONT FOR HER REPLACEMENT HEARING AID THAT SHE NEEDS I PAID ALMOST $3000 FOR THIS HEARING AID NOW LOST AND NOW UNABLE TO REPLACE.SUPPOSED TO BE COVERED UNDER HER WARRANTY WHEN I TRIED TO ADVOCATE FOR MY DAUGHTER A CHILD TO SAY THE LEAST THAT NEEDS HER HEARING AID THE SECRETARY AS ALWAYS WAS VERY RUDE DIDN'T CARE KEPT TALKING OVER ME REFUSED TO DO HER JOB EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF THEY DON'T LISTEN NOR CARE ABOUT THERE PATIENTS IVE HAD SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THIS OFFICE SINCE DAY ONE AND NOW THIS?? I PAID OVER $3000 DOLLARS OUT IF POCKET FOR MY DAUGHTER S HEARING AID AND WAS TOLD SHE HAD WARRANTY UNTIL 2029 THAT WAS A COMPLETE LIE THERE IS NO WARRANTY THEY ARE SCAMMING PEOPLE TRYING TO GET EVEN MORE MONEY OUT OF YOU TO PAY OVER $500 FOR THE REPLACEMENT SUPPOSED TO BE COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY THEY ARE NOT TELLING THE TRUTH THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL SCAM ARTIST COMMITTING SERIOUS FRAUD AND THEY NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED! IF YOU TAKE ELDERLY HERE STOP NOW THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEM BIG TIME ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THEIR ELDERLY THEY WONT EVEN KNOW THERE BEING SCAMMED AND TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PLEASE DONT GO HERE AND IF YOU DO STOP GOING HERE!!

Negative experience: If I could give ZERO STARS I would. Dr. Bailey does not enjoy the work she does very impatient and immature. I was told by others to DO NOT VISIT THIS FACILITY and they are definitely right will not be going back.

Fantastic experience: The only reason I rated my treatment at Rehab and by Dr. Ali Bailey as 5 Stars is becaus that was the highest allowable. I have been coming to Rehab for a number of years, and I couldn't be happier with the professionalism, congeniality and all around care I have received. I live in Austin and went to an Audioligist here in a pinch a year or two back, and the service and knowledge didn't compare. I won't go anywhere else or trust my hearing to anyone else. Fantastic experience: Our 5 year old son was born 3 months early and failed his hearing tests before leaving the NICU. Our path led us to WTR Audiology and they have been nothing short of AMAZING. Dr. Pope and Dr. Bailey diagnosed our son with auditory neuropathy and got him set up with his hearing aids. They have changed his world for the better. Every appointment is fun for him, he loves every person there, and they have shown him nothing but love. We love this place. If you are serious about your child getting help and treat your appointments as such, WTR will go above and beyond for your child. There aren’t enough stars to give, thank y’all for everything you have done for Samuel. We love you!

Negative experience: Parents with special needs do not go see Dr. Bailey. The worst experience my two year old autistic niece has had with a doctor. Adults need to just be better. Will not be going back.

Negative experience: The rudest staff I have ever experienced. Not only was the receptionist rude and condescending, but Dr. Bailey also was rude. As a medical professional of any kind their behavior is unacceptable, and I am shocked at the way they treat paying customers. Will NEVER return or recommend to anyone to go there.

Fantastic experience: Dr Pope did my hearing test and found I needed hearing aids. I was concerned because of my tinnitus. She made some recommendations and explained the differences in the devices she had recommended and I chose one. I have had a couple of problems in the initial week or so of wearing hearing aids but when ever I emailed her with a problem, she responded in a timely manor and either walked me through solving the problem or scheduled an appointment and took care of the problem. It has been a pleasure working with Dr Pope and I wouldn’t hesitate for one second to recommend her to anyone. Thank You Dr Pope and The Hearing Center at West Texas Rehab Center for taking such great care of me!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a patient of the West Texas Rehab Hearing and Balance Center for many years. Dr Connie Stephens and staff are a God send. Dr Ali Bailey is an awesome audiologist that really cares!

Negative experience: If your child is Autistic or has a delay, Dr. Bailey is not for you. Very unprofessional and rude. She may be good with adults.

Negative experience: Worst experience I’ve ever had with a providers office. Dr.Bailey is the most unprofessional provider I’ve experience. I am a Dr myself and have never dreamed of treating the patients the way she treated my mother and my autistic daughter. She was very rude when trying to handle my two young daughters at their appointments. She made it very difficult as I could not bring both of them back there at the same time even though they both had appointments. I understand rules, but when we mentioned one daughter was autistic she smacked her tongue and acted like she could care less. She was very unprofessional and would not recommend her to any one with young children. Do better. As a provider I know you could exhibit much better care for our patients. I do it all the time.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Dr Ali Bailey for several years. Sweetest, kindest doctor ever! She is so friendly she feels like family! Truly loves. Her patients! These bad reviews have more to their story I bet. I hate how people bash drs:, cafes, and businesses! Most time they are making up stuff because something did not go the way they intended things to be done. And then all the family, not even there all chime in like they were on the spot to try to turn others against them. You see it done to cafe’s every day! This doctor is very kind! Maybe people who do not like it should find another doctor elsewhere.I saw a reply to one of you that there were 5 young children with only one adult. That would not enable a dr to do an ear test as you need silence. The reviews sound as if you were all there with the grandma. Everybody at the rehab from doctors to the therapists are some of the most professional people I have ever had and I have used all of it. Here’s to many more years of the Rehab’s service and all the doctors, therapist and workers! They are the cream of the crop serving Abilene and the surrounding area!

Fantastic experience: My infant son saw Ali for a hearing test, he was born premature and at risk for progressive hearing loss. She was kind, professional and gentle. She’s knowledgeable and took the time to address all of my concerns. We will definitely be back to see her when my son has to retest. 10/10

Negative experience: As an OT practitioner, I was very disappointed in how my niece, who is autistic, was treated by Dr. Bailey. If rolling your eyes and making it extremely known that you’re frustrated is professional, that is what you may get. I hope that this facility is able to accommodate special needs children better in the future.

Fantastic experience: Just had another great appointment with Dr. Shalyn Pope at West Texas Hearing and Rehab in Abilene, Texas. Everyone there is friendly and helpful. They make you feel like family. Dr. Pope has been my Audiologist for several years and with my recent Cochlear Implant she is spending lots of time with me getting my best possible hearing. She is patient explaining the processes and making the adjustments helping me hear better and better. She is a great listener and communicator. I feel blessed to have her and West Texas Hearing and Rehab in my life.
