Negative experience: DO NOT !!! I REPEAT DO NOT!!!!! SEND YOUR FAMILY HERE. They are NEGLECTFUL. “Nursing and rehabilitation” yet will NOT help your family member. Absolutely no rehabilitation was done with my grandmother. I would not recommend this place to ANYONE.

Negative experience: The furniture is actually badly torn up - both chairs! The bathroom is 1960's without room to navigate a wheelchair. The carpet is wrinkled, worn, and nasty - .moulding coming away from the wall.. Worst if all the bed mattress is flattened out and lumpy. Our mother will not be staying in a place like this until she heals and can go home.

Fantastic experience: The entire staff at Wisteria is the best …Tammy , Deanna,Cat ,Tivona ,Medina are just a few ….. The entire staff from nurses ,kitchen and house keeping really shows they care about you —- not just there for the job .Margaret “Granny “ as we all know is getting older and this is the happiest place she could spend her last years with us ….And it is just know her they care about it is everyone that lives that …. Negative experience: My wife was there fir about a month and the cna ignored her left her unclean .also injured her left leg trying to get her up and did nothing until a doc. From hendrick called and had to ask the to clean her up and clean and fix her wound on her left leg. Her left leg became infected and had to go back to the hospitat.they lied about taking care of her . I would see other residents left un attended for hours.

Fantastic experience: My mom recently had a stroke and after a short stay in hospital, went to Wisteria Place for rehab. Wisteria exceeded every expectation I had. The staff, ALL OF THEM, are phenomenal! Treated my mom with such care and patience. The therapists are top notch! In just under 3 weeks, my moms health thrived! Without any hesitation, I would recommend Wisteria Place Nursing Rehab for anyone who has a need for their services. THANK YOU Wisteria Place for helping my mom get better!!!!

Negative experience: ****THIS IS AN UPDATE**** ###I wanted let readers know that they should take the 5 star reviews with a grain a salt and the reason being is because they might not all be accurate or true. Some of the reviews were completed by people who are not that familiar with WP. The leaders of Wisteria asked the staff of Wisteria to have their(the staff) friends/family write 5 star reviews for Wisteria. In my opinion this is unethical. How can someone who has never set foot in the facility write a 5 star review? I refused to participate. I might be alot of things, but I am not an unethical person. And I dont care if Wisteria doesnt like that I posted this, but it needed to be said. ### I am a former employee of Wisteria and I must say that this is the greatest place to work of all time. Never have I worked for a place that valued its employees so much, especially some of the leadership employees. Working here is the highlight of my life. I mean where else can you work and be questioned about why you are taking PTO? I mean, that's amazing, such concerned and invested "upper management". Technically I do not have to say what my PTO is being used for unless it is for an extended period of time, it is really not any of the employers business what I am using my PTO for. Also let's not forget doing the work of 3 people and not being compensated for it and being told "this is what being a leader is all about, you are supposed to be able to handle the workload". Yes, that's partially right, I know that as a leader/manager one is supposed to step up and take more responsibility, but one should be properly compensated for their work. I say this because I have extensive knowledge of what the actual duties were per state regulations and a facility cannot decide what their regulations and continue to assign extra work that is supposed to be done by other departments. ***Update inserted here*** Another sad thing about this place is that certain leadership are able to take extended lunches, meaning a 2-3 hour lunch, but if I took 61 minutes instead of 60 I was questioned as to why did I take a long lunch even though I am legally allowed to take an hour lunch. But hey, its the greatest job ever. I mean this place comes with "voluntold". There were instances where we were told we would be "voluntold" to do something. Um, I don't think so. That statement crosses a fine line of legality. And let's not forget the number one reason to work at Wisteria and that is once you leave, they(upper management) will talk about you behind your back and they suck into their game and try to get you to be like them if are still working there. My life is changed for best because I worked here, glad I turned down the job flipping burgers. Thank you Wisteria Place.

Negative experience: If you are looking for a place to let your elderly loved one die, then it's a great choice. The rehab has Horrible medical care, neglect on a massive level. It won't matter if outside doctors/nurses, call/message or send notes for them to do basic care; it's not going to happen. The call lights are just turned off after hour(s) long waits and they never return to assist. Had the audacity to tell my mother she couldn't go to the bathroom multiple days. Bald face Lying to other medical facility's about blood pressure and that she hasn't eaten... this place is garbage! A mistake I'll never make again is suggesting this place to others or putting any family in there for ''help''

Fantastic experience: The staff at Wisteria Place is amazing! My friend was a resident for quite a while and I have to admit that she could be pretty "difficult" at times. However, she was always treated with patience and kindness by the wonderful staff. Caring for the elderly is a hard job, and those caregivers who do it well don't always receive the recognition they deserve.

Negative experience: I tried getting my mother transferred to this facility (from out of town) with little to no communication in November of last year to February of this year. I loved the facility and what they had to offer. It is more of the administration that lacked communication skills. Hopefully, they do better for other people from here on out. I finally found a place for my mom and so far it has been great. Northern Oaks has done amazing with her so far. They keep up with communication as well, which is key!!

Fantastic experience: My name is Brittani Raguet and I am currently the MDS Coordinator and a Nursing Manager. I joined the amazing team at Wisteria two weeks after graduating nursing school. I started as a charge nurse on the long term care unit and spent two wonderful years caring for our amazing residents. It has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The culture they have at Wisteria is hands down the best out there. You are always treated like family whether you work there or as a resident. The care for these residents goes above and beyond. I’m very honored to get to be apart of this team and I LOVE seeing our residents thrive during their stay with us.

Fantastic experience: I had my Dad here after his fall and fractures for therapy, so I came too. I feel like we are a huge family, and my coworkers and peers really love our residents. I'm happy to be a part of it. Many staff members have been here a very long time, it makes a huge difference in our investment of caregiving. Fantastic experience: I visited with a friend a few weeks back. After seeing my own family members at other facilities this by far the best that I have ever visited. Friendly, understanding and compassionate staff. An extremely clean and updated facility. I would move my grandma here from Arkansas if she would. Great job!

Negative experience: They lied to us. Basically killed my father , a longtime oral surgeon/dentist , highly respected professional. His friends were mainly retired physicians, dentists, who are even questioning his lack of care now themselves. They let him become dehydrated, a UTI apparently went septic which they denied he had, ended up his number one cause of death. A bruised heel they let become a Level 4 wound and was infected, but hid it.. Denied everything when asked, but finally when my wife found him laying "undignified " in bed, I said call 911. The ER proved they.lied, neglected him. Their skilled nursing is anything but, and staff doctor is in name only. Not once came out there himself to see him. One doctor friend of over 50 years couldn't even get him to call him back. It's like a horror movie. Very sad and simply incompetent. He didn't deserve that. To the owner. Those changes don't sound effective. Now it's December, he passed in May. We found a bill dated 12/1 in his house mailbox, which is vacant. They told us they'd file on his long term care policy, then didn't after his 100 days were up. I called. Could not find his name, would not let me speak to someone in administration. Transferred me to skilled nuŕsing which they never had him in. No one answered. Still sounds pretty fubar to me. Just remember this, the two year statute of limitations isn't up. Your 5 star reviews. I believe the guy who says they're fake.

Fantastic experience: This building is one of the best in town! They have been agency free for 2.5 years, have over 200 years of tenure in the nurse management team, consistently one of the top 3 referral sources for the local hospital district!!

Fantastic experience: I’ve gone to Wisteria Place Nursing and Rehab off and on for over 8 years now. I can say with real experience and confidence that I can trust Wisteria with my loved ones. If I have a concern I know several people who will listen to me and go fix it.

Negative experience: Update: Still waiting on a refund on Feb. 28, 2024. Received an email about a month ago stating the refund was in process. I hope they pay there vendors faster than the patients. We had a family member at Wisteria Rehab, we were past the 100 day mark for medicare to pay 100%, we had a copay of 200.00 per day. We paid the copay for November amounting to 4600.00 for Nov. then paid an additional amount on the same day for 6200.00 for the month of Dec. the second week of Dec. physical therapy and michael the social worker determined that he had reached his peak as far as therapy, he was discharged on the 12th of Dec. I called to talk with David numerous times about a refund, always getting his voicemail. I have left message after message about the refund to no avail. It has been 2 months, still nothing, this is a retired persons money and it should have been refunded promptly, I advise to never pay in advance, you may or may not get a refund. Oh, as far as the rehab, he is walking unassisted and has home health coming once a week, they are amazed at the progress

Fantastic experience: My father had a stroke in January and was in the hospital for 2 weeks before transitioning to Wisteria Place Skilled Nursing Facility. There are many amazing people at Wisteria Place that helped make the transition as smooth as it could be. Dad spent most of February and March at Wisteria Place SNF and had amazing improvement. When he arrived, he had to be picked up and put in a chair, and even then, couldn’t really keep himself in the chair. When he left Wisteria Place, just two months later, he could get out of bed by himself, speak clearly and was walking with a walker for long distances. In short, God performed a miracle for my dad by using the people at Wisteria to help my Dad and we are so grateful for their commitment and dedicated service. In reading google reviews, most are either 5 stars or 1 star based on someone’s strong feelings one way or the other. In my opinion, our stay at Wisteria is like most experiences—it is what you make of it. Nothing is perfect, but most people at WP genuinely care and want to do a great job. The nurses, aides, therapists, and other workers do an amazing job and genuinely care for the ladies and gentlemen that reside at WP. The job that these people do is very challenging and difficult but they keep a positive attitude and were very supportive. My Dad told one of the aides that if someone ever asked her what she did for a living, that she should say she is in the ministry (see Matthew 25:35-40). I probably shouldn’t start listing people’s names because I know that I will leave someone out, but I do want to recognize several people that did an outstanding job: Ashlie, Bradi, Izzy, Sharon, Eve, Doshie, Shelia, Lydia, Katie, Hailey, and Therapists Jonathan, Chelsea and Devin did a phenomenal job. Additionally, the shower ladies were very nice and treated my dad with respect like a father or grandfather should be treated. Thank you for being used by God and ministering to my Dad and family. Fantastic experience: I currently work at Wisteria as a Receptionist and I have to say I love it…the people I work with are friendly, always smiling and stays in a good mood. The nurses I see when I make my way to the back are always busy seeing to and doing everything they can for the residents and making sure they meet all their needs I love seeing the bond the nurses have with residents I know it puts a smile on their faces just as much as it does me.

Negative experience: My mother stayed here recently and became very sick several times during her stay. Her last time there she was rushed to the hospital where she almost died. It is a MIRACLE she is still alive, with no thanks to Wisteria. The doctors and nurses in ICU were appalled with the treatment she received while she was there. She hadn’t been bathed in at least four days (I was out of town and not aware) and they caused her drain to come out which almost caused her life. The only reason they called an ambulance was because she was no longer coherent. I was also not made aware of this. I once heard a staff person talking very harshly to her (they didn’t realize I was outside). She is 72 years old, had major surgery, and has a severe bone disease. The doctor and I decided this place was not an option for her to be sent to again for extended rehab. Her cell phone was misplaced which they blamed on her. It is very upsetting that this place is a five star rehabilitation center when their care for patients is so unbelievably bad. The people who check you in are also very rude and unprofessional—most of the time they were on their phone and really annoyed if I asked a question, like the time. I would never allow anyone I know and especially love to be here.

Fantastic experience: Update as of 23 May 2021-- Under the overwatch and personal commitment to affect positive change, Wisteria's Executive Director, Ms Kim Eickholt, became personally involved in insuring that my mother's custom wheelchair was overhauled to reflect much-needed repairs and alterations. Almost as significant to the repairs was the simple fact that my mom felt "heard" . . . that her needs and concerns were addressed and subsequently met. Mom's care team, including her Occupational Therapist and outside maintenance crew members, rallied together and Mom came out the victor! Even at 90, with crippling arthritic hands, she can now maneuver the wheelchair in such a manner that she feels independent in her mobility. And as I sit here in Virginia, 1750 miles away from my dear mother, my heart is at peace, knowing Mom has indeed been cared for . . . again, in a 5-star manner. Just last October, my almost-90-year-old mother celebrated her 3-year “anniversary” as a “resident” at Wisteria Place. While no long-term care facility is perfect, Wisteria Place is a close second! Mom has thrived under the loving care of its staff, and the pandemic only brought that observation to the forefront! I am 1,700 miles away, and it gives my family and me so much reassurance when we hear her daily reports of her care (including extra measures taken to protect her during the difficult challenges brought on by COVID-19) and the activities, meals, and special community events. When we hear the joy in her voice, life is good!

Fantastic experience: Wisteria Place’s staff was amazing to my mother and grandmother when helping them get my grandfather settled in! I owe many thanks to Ashley for going above and beyond when we were crunched for time, she treated such a stressful situation as if it were her own family member and I’m very grateful. When speaking to my grandpa on the phone he made sure to tell us how nice the ladies were treating him and how well rested he felt when he woke up. Thank you Wisteria Place for the sense of comfort for both my grandpa and my family, you guys are awesome!

Positive experience: Mom had taken a fall late last year and needed to be transferred to a skilled nursing facility after spending a few days in the hospital. Wisteria Place was the only facility that seemed interested in taking care of mom's needed care. They came to the hospital and ensured mom would be taken care of. Mom spent two months there for rehab and her condition improved quickly. The caregivers were attentive and the therapists and medical staff were great to deal with. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: Wisteria Place was a marvelous facility in which to place my mother as she recovered from her illness. All of the nurses, aides, and therapists had a great spirit of camaraderie and treated her promptly and as family; she recovered quickly under their expert care. The facilities were kept very clean, and family and friends were welcomed. Rehab equipment was varied and in excellent condition. We were extremely pleased with our experience there!

Fantastic experience: Wisteria Place has been such a blessing to my family and especially my mother. Not only do they care for my mom but they comfort me and my sisters as well. They understand that it isn't easy for the family and I think it is amazing that they care first for the her, but still have time leftover to make sure we are doing ok. They really do show real genuine care for her. They hug you when you cry, and they always have a smile on their face! I have been in other facilities in the past that did not feel as clean and smell as good as Wisteria Place. They always make time for me when I have questions, and I have a lot of questions! The food is good and if my mom doesn't like something on a particular day, they go get her something she does like. I had no idea what to do when my mom recently broke her back, but through research, asking others and visiting with Barbara and Dawn in the administration office, I know this was the best place! I have grown attached to the beautiful hearts, kindness and understanding of each person that has worked with my mom and will continue to work with her as she is transitioning into long term care.

Negative experience: Love the staff in the care area they were awesome. Beyond that the people in the business office are crooks. Billing my 80 year old mother for days my father was not there and then refused to refund the money owed her. When I got upset because they would not refund her money, they threatened to call the police on me. In addition to the money issue, three drawers full of medical supplies were stolen from my fathers room while he was in the hospital dying. Never place your loved on in this facility unless you want to get ripped off as well.

Negative experience: Not impressed at all with our choice of Wisteria Place for care of my elderly father. Under staffed for sure. We moved him in on Friday and moved him out Sunday morning.

Negative experience: Not good choices of facilities in Abilene. Be careful and watchful when using Wisteria. Lack of compassion and attentiveness . Loss of numerous sets of clothes and when told them it wasn't a concern . found roommate wearing her clothes. Personal Wheelchair taken and she was put in one with a bent wheel . Never found it even though it had her name on it. Had to purchase new one. Food is terrible and for ladies and gents with no teeth, it is hard to eat corn dog and chips !! ?? Have gone in to find her needing changed and no response to call light and gone to desk and they would finish their conversation before acknowledging I was there . Listen to your loved one when they have a complaint , it is usually valid .

Fantastic experience: The staff at Wisteria Place truly care about the Ladies and Gentlemen there. Wisteria Place has many different units for all stages, whether you are needing independent or assisted living and or skilled nursing. I truly believe Wisteria Place is best place for all your needs!

Negative experience: They are horrible at wisteria way do not put your parents in this care facilities. .The ladies at the desk talk crape about the tenants were Every one can here. They also will kick you out for no reason. You have to argue with them at night to get maintenance. The red head lady needs to be fired.
