Pacific Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I had been to Pac. Gard. Rehab a few years ago and hated it. I was so pleasantly surprised when I had to stay there recently. I was really surprised that there was no odor at all. The floors were clean to the point they looked new. But mostly the caretakers were so caring and pleasant. I found that the day RN was exceptionally aware of all my needs and was quick to make sure my pain meds were there when I needed them. The night RNs were rather aloof but I didnlt have to wait long for my meds with them either. The therapy staff were pleasant and made the therapy less intense. They knew what they were doing.
Fantastic experience: Front Desk folks are friendly, great with a smile are just perfect. Some of staff is not very assertive, don't comprehend your presence.
Fantastic experience: Walked in and was kind blown. Even the entrance is stunning. Coming from where others are living this should be a 5 star place.
Fantastic experience: No but I have’s friend there an she says it excellant place she like food
Fantastic experience: Pacific Gardens/ Fresno, Ca The staff was very accommodating, courteous. Being a PWD, they go out of their way to make life easier for you. I would always look forward to my weekly showers. Special mention are the CNA's Adelina, Paula and a nice Filipina whose name escaped my mind- she's going to take up RN course after she gets back from a vacay. My RN's are excellent as well. Being a pinay@ birth, it was a welcome sight to see co Filipinas as well. They call me nanay there. Dr. Anit Saine, thanks for my wonderful and satisfying stay there. You should be proud of your employees and crew. I was roomed in with Ms Dzai. They always listened to her needs, addressed her concerns right away. Another for you guys. My only grievance was I never got my ice chips/ice cold h20. They feel it's not safe for me. Heck, in this Fresno heat, it's a blessing to have ice chips. But then again- dr's orders.
Fantastic experience: I Can't Say Anything Bad about Pacific Gardens Their Nursing Staff Was Top Notch Their Doctors Were On the Ball on Everything The Therapist Were Understanding Taking Care of My Mom When She Was There Twice I Highly Recommend Pacific Gardens Over Any Other Nursing & Rehab Center in Fresno
Fantastic experience: Place was clean and the staff was courteous. They provide you with N95 masks for safety. They take your temperature before you go in. The place is decorated for Valentines Day. Visiting hours stop at 8pm.
Fantastic experience: I HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH THE STAFF DENISE WAS GREAT WITH HELPING ME PLACE MY MOTHER THANKS
Positive experience: My elderly mom had a good experience here. i know everyone's needs are different. But, coming out of the hospital due to covid, my mom was here for about 3 weeks. The staff was responsive, accommodating of my mom (she can be a handful, especially due to some mental health issues), and efficient at check-in, discharge, and with adhering to covid 19 safety precautions throughout my mom's stay. The discharge nurse was knowledgable of my mom's case and took time to go through her condition and needed follow up/medications, etc., in a very thorough manner. The PT/OT services were good. Pushed mom, but also were patient with her. Mom made good progress in her recovery and was able to be discharged home on time. Her blood sugar got abnormally high for some of her time there, so i think the meal planning was not as precise as it could have been. But she was put on insulin, then weaned off as her diet and blood glucose levels improved. We have been to many facilities over the years and feel this was a good experience and place for mom, considering her specific needs this time around.
Fantastic experience: I recently called this facility to see if I can get a long term bed for my loved one , but was told that they had none available at the moment. Although they had no beds available I spoke with Denise, who gave me information on other places I could call to get a bed for my loved one . Very nice Lady , great communication, and extremely helpful! Really hope they have beds available soon! I would love to have my loved one stay here !
Fantastic experience: I'm currently in this facility and highly recommend it to everyone. Patients are treated like millionaires in the coast of France. Thank you personnel. There are patients who abuse their stay here using foul language and screaming with all the negativity and anger. God bless all the sick who are here both temporarily or long term. I've seen healing continually and thanks to doctors, nurses, CNA, and specially physical therapy.
Fantastic experience: So this is going to be a lengthy one sorry but I don't want to leave anything out, my dad is currently a patient at Pacific Gardens for rehabilitation and I can not be more thankful and grateful for the receptionists, Nurses, LVN's, CNA's and all the staff who work there. Since day one of going to visit my dad we felt welcomed and at home, by being offered chairs to sit when visiting to welcoming us in at the door, but what is more important to us is the care my dad is receiving there. My dad is 100% Spanish speaking, so to see that there is a great amount of bilingual workers there who he can communicate with, is amazing. I go visit my dad everyday after work and my dad is always clean and shaved which was a surprise to me because my dad had previously been at another location (Willow Creek) who never did anything like that for him, mind you my dad was there due to left toe amputation, therefore, my dad is not able to get up from the bed and can't do those things for himself. The food is always warm and looks amazing and my dad actually eats! the bread is always soft compared to previous experience. His room is clean and his items are always neatly organized and put away. He gets fresh sheets daily which is appreciated and he has fresh cold water on his stand. Being in the medical field I know that times are hard and we are all affected by the pandemic and most locations are understaffed so I try to be understanding and not complain. But when you come across locations, people, employees who are actually giving their 100% I have to give my appreciation and reciprocate the love. Thank you all so much for the hard work, time, and love dedicated to your career and patients. It does not go unnoticed. Do I recommend this place? Yes, hands down, now do I recommend the other location? I'm not to sure. Maybe if my dad spoke English or they had more Spanish speaking employees the experience would of been different but then I believe that when it comes to patient care I think no language barrier should matter. Also a big thank you to Jocelyn (I hope I spelled it correct) for taking the time to return my call and answering all my questions and concerns.
Fantastic experience: I was looking for a place for a loved one and I work at CRMC, Denise gave me lots of great information and a tour of the building and I love the rehab they offer when patients/ families are looking for a rehab I Recommend them
Positive experience: Staff is excellent, nurses and CNAS are awesome. Food needs alot of work. Something everyday for the patients to do.
Fantastic experience: My husband has been in three Skilled Nursing Facilities in the last 10 years. The most recent was Pacific Gardens, I was concerned because he has not been happy with others. Our experience was so much better here. The very first day we were thrilled because he liked the lunch! His room was airy and bright and had a patio. These thing are all important but in the 3 months he was there I was most impressed by the people who cared for him. He was treated with respect and kindness by All the staff, in fact I too was made to feel welcome and not just tolerated. He was sometimes grumpy but still got smiles and patience. Once we realized he wouldn't be coming home, he switched to comfort care and he still had visits from his favorite people, John the nurse and Priscilla the CNA. He just passed this morning, and although I knew it was coming, my heart is broken. I had to write this review to let them know that they were so instrumental in facilitating his care and my support. Thank You. Melissa Davis
Fantastic experience: My fathers name is Terry L Dawson I’m his oldest daughter Yvonne Dawson Keppler. I’m so please my dad is very happy there. He says the staff is wonderfully with him. The facility has strict rules which I’m pleased with. It extremely clean smells clean not like disinfectant. Thanks is not even enough to all the Heroes working taking care of my father and the rest of the seniors. May you all stay healthy and happy. Sincerity Yvonne
Positive experience: When I checked my friend into their nursing home here in Fresno the business department told me what I would be paying and the different options I had in which to get the money to them. I never heard back from them on when to start paying so after a month or so I just started taking a check down there every month. After my friend has been there for almost8 months she decided that she wanted to go back to her hometown to a nursing home that she was familiar with. While I was checking her out the woman in the business department informed me that I didn't need to pay because her insurance was paying for it. They told me they had the money and that they would get it back to me as soon as they got the okay from the corporate office but that was months ago and now it's getting very suspicious because every time I call there the woman is either not in or her message machine is full or I get cut off she never calls back I've gotten a hold of her one or two times and she's very nice and sweet and said she'll have a check for me within the week then no answer again. If these people are honest why can't they just honestly tell me what the problem is. I'm thinking maybe it's because they don't know my relationship to my friend they never asked either so before I go to an attorney I'm going to take my power of attorney to them see if that makes a difference. If that doesn't work I'm not sure who to report it to? The checks from my bank. Should I be telling Medicare because this place is getting paid twice for her stay there or should it be Social Security because that's what we live off of. As for the review of the nursing home itself it's kind of hard to give a review to a place that you can't go in to see how well they're taking care of your loved one or not so I'm just venting
Positive experience: I have no comment yet as of 9/2/2020 as My Mother who has suffered a stroke and needs physical and speach therapy to be able to walk again, talk more clearly and easier, and swallow solid foods is still in the hospital where the hospital has ordered a discharge from the hospital to a skilled nursing facility. I will be calling to speak to a manager named Nancy to discuss this facility, its staff, its ratio of nurse to patients, its rehab, and more. I understand how important it is for us to TRUST facilities to care for our loved ones and how well they do becimes the quality of life for our loved ones so, so I will continue to update here fairly for all to be able to consider the experiences we recieve from this facility. I am hoping and praying for the best
Positive experience: My mother was here for several weeks recovering from a fall. She needed a lot of assistance the first two weeks and she was generally happy with the care staff (main issue was the CNA staffing level was stretched thin at times). She was very happy with the more skilled positions, the charge nurses and PTs. She thought the food was better tasting than we get in area restaurants like Red Apple Cafe and Black Bear Cafe. She developed a bed sore and the wound care was OK (no infection & by discharge it was nearly completely healed) but the CNAs needed more training applying the bandaging correctly for patient comfort. Noise level was an issue at night, the TV came with headphones that mostly blocked the noise (TV itself was minimally acceptable, distribution of the satellite signal a bit dodgy through the facility). Interior a bit old and worn out but since Medicare paid for everything can't really complain about that -- traffic noise from Peach Avenue can be a problem given the age of the building but I guess PTs get used to it.
Fantastic experience: Would like to thank everyone. I had one of the best CNA Bea was always helpful and kind going outf her was to help us
Fantastic experience: I recommend Pacific Gardens to anyone needing rehabilitation of of any type. The Manager welcomes you and the staff is Great. Physical Therapy Taught me so many ways to do everything. I still hear them say "don't plop". I'm so grateful to them, Ml
Fantastic experience: Pacific. Gardes. Is a 5. START
Positive experience: Clean facility
Fantastic experience: Awesome staff
Fantastic experience: Awesome nursing staff!! Great facility!
Fantastic experience: My mother-in-law had a brief stay here after being hospitalized and I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Every employee that I have come in contact with has went over and beyond my expectations. The facility is clean and doesn't smell like urine like other nursing homes do. This is a place that I would choose for myself. I am beyond pleased with this place and would highly recommend it.
Fantastic experience: They cared well for my dad and we're clean and very pleasant and professional.
Fantastic experience: My profession brings me into many skilled nursing and rehab facilities. Until recently, I had never been tasked with the respinsibility of finding one for a loved one. I've seen horrible facilities and wonderful ones alike. I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn what to look for. With all of the above stated, I am above and beyond thrilled with the professionalism, attentiveness, personal care and coordination between all departments and staff. This is a wonderful facility. I would highly recommend this facility! My loved one's anxiety quickly faded as each and every dept. head, nurse, CNA, therapists and even the director made a visit to his beside to introduce themselves and answer all questions we had. All in his first day! ☆☆☆☆☆ 5 stars from me! Here we are 3 months later and tomorrow is discharge day!!! I can't adequately express the gratitude my father and I feel towards the staff here. The teamwork and coordination between all the departments has made it possible for dad to finally go home. A special thank you to, Jim and the PT & OT team that worked so hard to get dad walking again!! The multiple CNA's that gave such wonderful care! The receptionists that put up with my multiple phone calls and inquiries! The management, nursing staff and administration that make everything run smoothly. Thank you Renee for getting dad to all his appointments! And finally to Nancy, you are the perfect person to be in admissions! You were so helpful right from the beginning on my initial tour! Hugs and heartfelt thank yous to all of you for making it possible for dad to come home ❤
Fantastic experience: After looking at several short term rehabilitation facilities in town, I decided to choose this one for my grandfather. He enjoyed his stay there and everyone that helper him. They even have a class prior to discharge to help with the transition back home. The facility was very clean, never smelled, and the staff were friendly.
Positive experience: I am only visiting my friend who is here after a stroke. The facility has a clean smell to it. There are activities for people who can get out of their rooms. My friend said the food has been decent. It did take a while for all of her information to be processed and for her to get proper treatments and assistance. Some of the staff is exceptionally competent and understanding. She is getting good help from her speech therapist.
Fantastic experience: Just brought my Grandmother in for therapies following a fall and 3 Emergency Room trips(in 1 week)where they found no broken bones nor concussion/she was put in a Hall Bed with no call light for help, no nurses or doctors called us to update us, when we visited, they had no time to talk or they just avoided us (Clovis Community ED) So just getting her discharged was amazing, to Pacific Gardens where we knew some staff and trusted them. We brought her in later in the evening (around 7pm) they had her bed ready, a person waiting to transfer her from our SUV to a wheelchair, very kind, very patient, knowledgeable, she had a gift basket with all necessities, had a meal tray within 30 minutes after the hospital not feeding her for 2days(!!!). All medications and paperwork was written up and ready, she had a great roommate, she will start therapies soon. This place is not what it used to be- its updated, BEAUTIFUL, festive for the upcoming holiday, tons of activities, personal telephones at bedside, call lights within reach, overhead lights with easy to reach on/off pull ropes. My grandmother loved the food, she came crying, when we left she was hugging people and smiling! This place is definitely 5 stars. It is hard to find a great place- w/ GREAT staff, CARING staff, and KNOWLEDGEABLE staff as well as sufficient staffing-Pacific Gardens has it ALL! I am thankful to have found such a great place SO fast. They care for their clients, and it definitely shows!
Positive experience: Im looking for lydia email me rjgonza1127 gmail?
Positive experience: My mother is in there now. She is 79 very alert. She will only be in the facility approximately 10 days. She loves it. She said everyone is very friendly and that the food is great. Which at Kaiser she always wanted us to bring fast food, but not here. She is doing physical therapy but she has nothing but positives about the place. When I went the floors should be cleaner that's why I gave a 4 star. I even picked something off of the floor so no one would fall. To be honest I didn't want to after doing squats the day before, but I couldn't risk anyone falling knowing I seen it.
Fantastic experience: Was so impressed with this rehab center. They got my granny going again after a bad bout of pneumonia. The nurses and rehab team were so awesome! She's been to a rehab place before and it was nothing like this.
