Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Plano: Reviews
Fantastic experience: My husband was a patient there twice. The staff was compassionate, caring, and capable. He left both stays much better than when he came in. Little problem with the correct diet on the first visit, but that was corrected. From the front desk to the nurses, therapists, techs, case workers, all were helpful and caring. I was very confident while my husband was there that he was well cared for and safe.
Fantastic experience: The staff and the facilities are absolutely WONDERFUL!!!! Their attitude is one of helping you, it is not just a job. GREAT place! HIGHLY recommend it!
Fantastic experience: Also My Night Nurse and Blake,Grace,Donette,Karen,I Cant Write All Ur Names But Yall Was Great Neva Case Manger/Social Worker Is Awesome!!! Thanks To Everyone
Fantastic experience: The whole entire staff, from the nurses, Doctors, Therapist, were amazing. Never had to wait for anything, the therapy program, and attention to individual needs is top notch in my opinion.
Fantastic experience: My husband was admitted Nov 2nd, for physical therapy, and occupational therapy, after receiving a right total knee replacement. Everyone is, kind, considerate, and very compassionate, checking on him frequently. My husband normally sleeps in his recliner at home, he has a bad back as well, and he has been very uncomfortable, and miserable sleeping these hospital beds. The staff here went out of their way to find him a recliner to sleep in at 0200 Nov 3rd. He has been resting much better, is more comfortable, and helps his hip pain as well. Thank you staff we appreciate your help.
Fantastic experience: Took my dad here after a previous nursing home/rehab facility dropped the ball on helping him recover. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. They treated my dad immaculately and extremely kindly. They gave him physical rehab 5-6 days a week for the 3 weeks he was there and got him walking in just the first 5 days, when he initially wasn’t walking for over a month before coming here. Special thanks to Stacy and Gary. Especially Stacy for being so hospitable and kind to my 76-year-old dad and keeping me in the know about how to help him!
Fantastic experience: Moki was amazing. The medical staff, not BSC.
Fantastic experience: The best people ever. Nurses to aides to physical therapist and Occupational therapist. Everyone is concerned with your heaalth and safety.
Fantastic experience: My mother was here for 2.5 weeks after a fall. Her entire team was excellent, especially Dr. Shah and her PT, Lannhi. Everyone working here really cares, and you can tell. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing place! My dad was here and we could not have been more impressed. The medical staff was outstanding. They looked at the whole picture and made adjustments to medications and he feels so much better now. The therapists were outstanding and pushed him to become stronger every day. The entire staff was friendly and easy to work with. He also LOVED the food. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: My Father-in-law loves this place!
Fantastic experience: This place is fantastic! The doctors, nurse practitioners, and techs are all very professional, skilled, supportive and endlessly encouraging. My hat's off to Dr. Colon, RN's Jennifer, Efrem, Occupa Therapists, Dr. Misty and Alisha.
Positive experience: Many of the people working here are great caring people who are doing a fantastic job. But I can't give it more than 3 stars for a couple reason. One problem is unless you are the patient it is extremely difficult to talk to a Doctor. The Doctor makes his rounds before visiting hours start, so even if you have time to sit in the room all day long you are never going to see him. But when I checked my Mother in Dr Colon gave me his card with his voice mail phone number if I had any questions. That sounded great! Except when I called that number about a week later I found the number had been disconnected. Nobody I talked to at the hospital seemed to care that the number had been disconnected . I even left a voice message for the Director of Quality on the phone number issue and he never even responded. What kind of quality control is that? So to talk to the Dr I had to call the main hospital number . They asked me what I wanted before they would transfer the call, after they determined they would allow me to try to talk to a Doctor they transferred me to nurse. Again I had to repeat my story and convince a nurse that should be allowed to ask the Doctor a question. Then all the nurse could do is to give the Doctor a message with my question. The Doctor never called me back, a P.A. named Lilly called me back and gave me incorrect information. The Doctor could have given me the correct info, but I guess he was to busy to spend 5 minutes on the phone with low level person like me. The second issue I have with the place is that as they approach the end of the time period that Medicare likes to pay pay for they decide patient is suddenly cured and can go home. On the first day they wrote a goal in the wall for my Mother to get out of bed on her own and walk, just like she could before her surgery. She certainly did not reach that goal, but they did not appeal to Medicare that a 86 year old woman might need a little more rehab time than a typical patient. They just discharged her and hoped that "Home Health" could finish the job with visits a couple of times a week. Even though they had not accomplished it working with her everyday. To summarize If I could have talked to a doctor when I wanted to and if they had kept my Mother another week until she reached her "goal" I would have given them a 6 star rating.
Fantastic experience: I recently had a second back surgery and after receiving exceptional care the first time Requested to be sent back directly from Baylor Uptown to Encompass Plano. The service/ care for over 12 days was just as I remembered. From the Nurses, Physical Therapist, Front Desi, Food Service, Nurses Aide, and Maintance staff were not only Professional but Caring when meeting my overall needs towards my recovery. I would not hesitate to recommend Encompass to both family and friends if ever a need arose. I am now home and continuing with home care through Encompass. Felt it was necessary to share my Second experience and if I return it would just be as a visitor,, Thank to All
Fantastic experience: I just got discharged yesterday and this place is awesome!!! I had not been able to walk for 9 months. On my first day PT got me on my feet again. Everyone there would smile and help with your concerns. I loved that they had props for you to practice. For example they had restaurant booths and tables so if you go out to eat with friends you would know how to adapt. I had muscle wasting and they would stretch my muscles to help me with my walking. The day before I got discharged I had walked the length of a football field. Everybody there was great from PT, OT, nurses Dr and staff. If anyone needs rehab I would suggest going there.
Fantastic experience: The staff from the doctors to the nurses to the therapists were outstanding. Their care and concern literally gave my husband back his life. The insurance company wanted to send him to a nursing home from the hospital, but I appealed and he was sent here. During his 20 days here, he was stabilized medically thanks to the doctors and the therapists helped him clear the fog from his brain and get him back on his feet.
Fantastic experience: My husband had a stroke, he was in the hospital for a week. After the tour of rehab centers, I decided put my husband at Encompass rehab at Plano. He stayed at the rehab for three weeks, from staffs, nurses, therapists, even the director were so nice and care about my husband’s well being. my husband from unable to walk nor feed himself, he is now able to walk with walker, able to use his right hand take care of himself and talk more clearly. I want to thank the PT Tosha, OT Krystal, and SPT Erica job well done.
Fantastic experience: Staff is Very friendly. Anything you need is at your fingertips, all you have to do is ask. I am 46 and was there for triple by pass surgery. The team worked with me very well and I feel great!!
Fantastic experience: The staff was wonderful! The doctors and nurses were great. They listened intently to my issues, analyzed my problems and setup my rehabilitation requirements. The cafeteria provided delicious hot meals. The pharmacist came by on the day I arrived and the day prior to my departure. The rehabilitation therapists were knowledgeable, engaging and truly cared about my welfare. This location provides onsite dialysis. Every room I viewed was clean and sanitized. My two week stay was glorious!!!
Fantastic experience: After stays at multiple rehab hospitals, I can honestly say, the level of care here is worlds above everywhere else. From Housekeeping to Nutrition to OT/PT, Nurses, Techs & Doctors all truly care about your well-being and have a terrific attitude of service. Highly recommend!!
Fantastic experience: Have been here twice and the service was excellent. They make you work in rehab and got the results, that I needed. I would tell anyone to go here and see what they can do for you!!!
Fantastic experience: I spent 11 days at this fabulous facility. These guys are so professional and caring. I can't give them enough praise. I would highly recommend this rehab center for excellent therapy and care.
Fantastic experience: My husband was there for about 10 days to 2 weeks after a fall that caused a head injury. Unfortunately after he came home later he passed away from a stroke. but that had nothing to do with his stay there. I am a retired RN and cant say enough good things about the place. Everyone was competent, extremely caring and the therapists were wonderful. they went above and beyond in his care. I even got one free meal a day as his wife so that I could eat with him. He was busy everyday with therapy so that he could recover his motor functions. They had the best social worker that I have ever run across. She was truly amazing. She always responded as quickly as she could and her work load was huge. She went way beyond what I was used to. I am just so sorry that these few people had such a bad experience. My husband was there last summer--2016.
Fantastic experience: Outpatient rehab will be permanently closed by the end of November.
