Fantastic experience: Went to him about a year ago for coaching in weightlifting. He helped address many of the weaknesses that I had, improved my technique and strength, and coached me through two competitions so far.

Fantastic experience: Ted is very responsive and always available for feedback. He is particularly sensitive to the needs of athletes and is excellent at incorporating routines that we can use, for example, during warmups. He also is very organized and plans out treatment so patients know what to expect. Ted is accommodating and has worked with me if I lacked certain equipment or was not able to recover from planned exercises due to extenuating circumstances.

Fantastic experience: I had an ACL tear and had done PT in the months immediately after the injury. However, 1.5 years after injury, I still had significant differences in the strength and stability of my knee and it was affecting my daily life, strength training, and hobbies. Ted worked with me with carefully-selected exercises and encouragement and now my knee is super strong! Thrilled with the results!

Fantastic experience: I started working with Dr. Lim as I was gearing up for a competition. I was four weeks out and I felt like my body was crumbling on itself. I was dealing with pain in my shoulder, low back, and my hip. My hip pain was so bad I wasn’t able to squat heavier than 85%. Dr. Lim helped me understand why the pain was happening, took me through a comprehensive video assessment, and built a personalized plan to address all three concerns. After each week, I received feedback and the plan was updated. On top of that, he was accessible and answered any question that came up. After four weeks, my low back pain was gone and my hip/shoulder pain was limited. I was able to squat heavy again and had a good competition! Now I have the knowledge to keep working on fixing those spots and to improve my longevity. I highly recommend working with Dr. Lim, even virtually, if you’re an athlete that is getting ready for a competition and you want every competitive edge possible or to simply feel better!

Fantastic experience: I met with Ted at Liberation Barbell Club in Austin & he became my coach/PT this part of March 2021 & it was easily one of the luckiest & best decisions I made. From the beginning, I could tell how humble & kind Ted was and took as much time he could to understand what I had gone through with previous injuries & pain points I had in my body. He made sure to do his proper assessments and come up with an initial workout/PT plan that became more customized to my body as he learned more from how my body reacted. We set in person check ups based on how I am doing throughout my workout/rehab program. At first, I wasn’t too sure how this would work if our in person meetings were very limited but Ted is a great communicator by making sure you have everything you need. Ted would give guidance/tips & address anything that causes pain through descriptions or videos of exercises that you do. I’ve dealt with lower back pain for many years and never thought I would be able to do heavy lifts like squats or deadlifts. However, Ted has been the only one to get me past that point and this is the strongest I’ve been. Even with setbacks at times, Ted reassures me that it is a part of the process and I always bounce back & make a lot more progress. Thanks for everything thus far Ted and I am excited to see how far we will get! If you are like me and have a heavy internet in weightlifting & tried a ton of different PTs, Chiropractors, Doctors, etc with minimal progress on your pain then its time you meet with Ted.

Fantastic experience: I worked with Ted around April of this year to address a shoulder injury that had come up for the second time. I saw another PT before him who basically only gave me exercises to fix the pain and not ones the addressed the real issue. It’s been over 6 months since I’ve seen seen Ted and this is the longest my shoulder has been pain free. I was able to be pain free in about 3-5 weeks after initially seeing him and I’ve incorporated the exercises he prescribed to me in my everyday workouts. I’m very happy that my shoulder is as strong as ever. Ted has been the only PT that actually saw some of the main compound movements I do and told me what corrections I should be making. If you are powerlifter/Olympic weightlifter or anyone really (active or not active) Ted will listen to your needs and the lifestyle you are striving for to help get to the root of your issue. I’ve had bad PT experiences in the past, but my experience with Ted has led to my first successful and preventative PT therapy. This is the longest I’ve gone without shoulder pain while doing the most shoulder related exercises in my life. Thanks Ted!

Fantastic experience: I recently started working with Ted after years of a dealing with a recurring back injury. Ted’s approach is different from any clinician I’ve worked with. To start, he actually watched me perform the lifts before doing any other diagnosis. In that one session, he gave me a bunch of tips on things he saw that would improve my lifting overall, rather than focusing solely on the issue of back pain. Most importantly, Ted takes the time and effort to listen to his clients, understand exactly how they move, what their goals are, and how he can help. Working with him is more effective than the average practitioner because of the level of effort he puts in as well as his attention to detail. He will continually check in on you and modify his prescribed treatment based on how your body feels and how you’re changing and responding to the treatment. If you're looking for at PT who is extremely knowledgeable about all things related to movement, especially in the realm of powerlifting and weightlifting, there is no one I would recommend more.

Fantastic experience: Ted was extremely helpful in assessing the nature of my shoulder pain and recommending a plan to rehab & return to normal lifting. I was able to recover within 2 months of working with Ted and have been lifting pain free using his strengthening & mobility protocols. He was also kind enough to connect with my coach to implement his recommendations into my programming, so everyone was on the same page to help my recovery. Furthermore, we only required 1 session to diagnose and make the recovery plan. Well worth the time and money spent!

Fantastic experience: I’ve had a nagging SI Joint issue for 3 years and felt like I had tried everything! I tried countless stretches, mobility routines, yoga, acupuncture, technique assessments, PT, and even went as far as x-rays and steroid shots since I was convinced something was truly wrong. All of this and even PT gave me minor or temporary relief but never the “solution.” I was able to continue to powerlift but always lived in fear of when my pain was going to strike me in the middle of a lift and therefore, never progressed too heavy. I was drawn to Ted because he not only focused on weightlifters and powerlifters but was HIMSELF a lifter. I knew he could empathize with me on some level and at that point, what else could I lose?? I was still VERY skeptical going into the first session but afterwards, he sent my follow-up notes and programming that same day and within a week I had a squat session where I didn’t feel annoyance with my SI Joint, saw visible improvement with my squat, and received feedback from coaches my squat looked better. Aside from actually knowing what he’s doing, my favorite thing about working with Ted is he doesn’t just pay attention to you when he’s getting paid. He sends PT programming same day and is always available for feedback and advice — you don’t just feel like another checkbox. In only 4 sessions with Ted I have had him help me with other minor nagging areas and slight tweaks in technique for all my lifts that are paying huge dividends. I have made recent PRs in all of my lifts. These are numbers that I was never able to reach due to fear and the feeling of “an injury coming on.” If you have experienced anything similar to what I have, just cut to the chase and go with Ted. You will save a lot of time, money, tears, and effort doing so. I’m in a really good spot now but still want to continue working with Ted and am excited to do so!

Fantastic experience: Before meeting Dr. Lim I had been experiencing frequent back tweaks which made it impossible to follow a consistent training schedule. I had tried for the past couple of years to self-correct my issues with what I thought were the most appropriate assistance exercises and stretches. Unfortunately, my personal approach yielded little success. I decided to contact Dr. Lim in July of 2020 after reading positive online reviews and seeing that one of his specialties is rehab in the context of Olympic-style weightlifting, my chosen sport. After an initial consultation and assessment, Dr. Lim programmed specific exercises (with demos) as part of his remote All-Inclusive Rehab Coaching program. Each week was planned out in advanced and consisted of approximately 4-5 exercises per day, 4 days per week. His programming made me realize that my own approach had been insufficient, both in terms of the exercises selected and the loading used. Dr. Lim was able to provide more focus and structure to my rehab program than I was able to on my own. What I liked most about working with him was his level of involvement. He consistently reviewed the videos I took each workout and provided useful corrections. He also promptly answered any questions I had along the way. He seemed to genuinely care about my progress. It’s been a little over 2 months since I started working with Dr. Lim and my lower back (and lower body in general) feels so much stronger now. I resumed weightlifting about 1 month ago and for the first time in a long time I’ve been able to train seriously without interruption. For anyone on the fence about working with Dr. Lim, based on my experience I can highly recommend him. I was a bit apprehensive at first myself, but when I consider my improved quality of life and the time saved avoiding ineffective rehab exercises, it’s been the best investment I’ve made in quite a while.

Fantastic experience: Before working with Ted, I was dealing with a nagging right shoulder injury that caused pain and pronounced weakness, affecting my overhead strength and stability in the oly lifts. After 6 weeks with a different physical therapist I saw no results, and if anything a decrease in performance. When I came to Ted, he immediately introduced a challenging but not overwhelming program that emphasized progressive overload. He identified my weaknesses and directly attacked them with specific exercises. In rehab coaching, Ted is to-the-point, never sugar coats anything, and is always available for feedback. After just 3.5 weeks, I saw vast improvements in strength, to the point of my right shoulder being as strong as my left. If you want to jumpstart your rehab and/or training, don’t waste time and go see @thekilophysio

Fantastic experience: Ted has helped me with everything from resolving hand and wrist pain from over-gripping in jiujitsu, to nerve pain in my hip from a lifelong genetic issue that kept me from squatting for years. He is always excited to hear about my progress and responds quickly with on-the-fly updates to my plan. I've seen him as-needed for years, and I don't know what I'd do without him!

Fantastic experience: I worked with Dr. Lim for 3 months after throwing my back out deadlifting. We immediately started bolstering my confidence getting back under a barbell and slowly adding load through programming and rehab exercises. I really felt that Dr. Lim’s experience as a coach and weightlifter added to his skills as a PT, and I always felt challenged but not defeated with his exercises. His programming was fun, progressive, and tailored exactly to what I wanted to do. By the end of our time together I was feeling great and ready to keep lifting without fearing pain or feeling burnt out again!

Fantastic experience: The Kilo Physio fixed my chronic lower back pain I've struggled with for years while visiting various chiropractors. Now I can train in the gym consistently without making concessions for pain flare ups.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Ted has been my fitness coach/rehab coach since July 2019. I originally approached him due to pain and tingling in my right thigh during squatting. Through videoconferencing, he conducted an initial assessment of my body movements/etc., diagnosed my source of pain/discomfort, and prescribed a set of stretches to increase my mobility/flexibility. After 3-4 weeks, my pain during squatting disappeared and hasn’t returned since. What I like best about Dr. Ted is that he listens to and thinks carefully about what your goals are because he truly cares about helping you achieve them. He’s accessible through multiple avenues of communication. He provides feedback through videos of your lifts, asks about your workout after each one through messaging, and makes changes based on what your share with him. He patiently listens to and solicits ongoing feedback while maintaining a calm and positive demeanour. He helps you cognitively reframe your behaviour when you’re feeling down or unmotivated to help keep you on track. In less than 6 months, I’ve gained several inches of muscle everywhere including achieving 2.5” of growth in my glutes. I recommend him highly if you need a professional with a rare mix of physical therapy knowledge, lifting experience, and motivational techniques who will provide a holistic exercise program that you can trust to keep you physically safe while optimizing your physique goals and maintaining your motivation.
