Fantastic experience: Encompass Health is the best thing that could happen to me after a very complicated foot surgery! I was wheeled in feeling scared and uncertain about my next few months. I came out 8 days later confident I knew how to live the next few months without putting any weight on my foot. The staff was extremely caring, professional and knowledgeable. My family and I can't thank you enough!

Fantastic experience: My boyfriend was diagnosed with Lymphoma and is partially paralyzed. Since day one, the staff was incredibly nice and hospitable to the both of us. All the nurses and the doctors were amazing. Thanks guys! It’s important that we appreciate nurses/doctors in the medical field. They do a lot for the world.

Fantastic experience: My wife was in Encompass due to fractures in her back due to an auto accident. The care, empathy, optimism, and genuine care of the entire staff was outstanding. Could not praise them enough. The physical facility is first rate.

Fantastic experience: I had a total knee replacement at St David's main. Great surgeon Dr Manuel and his staff. My knee was pretty bad. Years over due for replacement. I needed and wanted to go into inpatient rehab. Encompass Rehabilitation south Austin was the place for me. Close to my home so much less stress for my husband to visit. Thanks to Jackie at St David's main my case manager. She worked so hard to get me in. Katelyn the Encompass liason at St David's main. Dr Grey at Encompass accepted me into their program. Thank you Dr Grey. What a great Hospital. She has amazing Drs and Nurses and techs. The best Ot's and Pt's. So happy I came to Encompass south. They are so incredibly thorough. Great stuff goes on here. This facility does not miss a trick. They cover every aspect of your body and mind. No wonder this experience has been so successful!

Fantastic experience: Everyone from a-z provided compassionate care. They were thorough and I highly recommend Encompass at Ben White Blvd. ATX.

Positive experience: Maria, with wound care, was fantastic. All the nurses were equally great. I did have a fall but they were quick to respond. I had a tube for feeding when I got there but they didn't do a swallow test until the day before I was scheduled to leave. I could have had the tube removed before leaving. I was left in my wheelchair by one of the P.T. techs. He said he would get someone to help get me back into bed. I never saw him again. I was there until my next scheduled meds (the call button was out of reach). No one looked into the incident that I am aware of. I would recommend but I would go to Waco instead because of this.

Positive experience: The place isn't the best or the worst. I would call it, average. The facility doesn't have a conference call or speak with the family. They just discuss all the patients together as a facility and then the case manager can relay the information to the family. Not very helpful since not all case managers are not medical professionals, if someone wants technical language. Nurses are hard to reach and no one answers at night.

Fantastic experience: Encompass was a breath of fresh air. They are professional, kind and skilled. If you or someone you care about needs rehabilitation Encompass is a great choice.

Fantastic experience: I recently spent 8 days at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital and I have to say it was a great experience. Everything about the facility was pleasant. The nursing staff and the PT & OT staff was top notch. The doctors were great and I was impressed that they cared about you and spent as much time as was needed to make sure you had all your questions answered and you were satisfied with the treatment. The food at Encompass was excellent, I was always pleased with all the menu choices. The daily therapy was well coordinated and you received exactly what was needed for your rehabilitation as well as the return home. I just can't say enough about how good it was and how well I was treated while I was there. I highly recommend this facility. Bob S.

Fantastic experience: I am so appreciative of the great rehab my 87 year old dad received. Staff was responsive and professional, and they worked hard to get my dad up and healing! He thrived under their care. The speech therapist was very thorough and spent extended time helping us to understand about how to care for my father and how to keep him safe and healthy with his new swallowing issues. The social workers were responsive to our concerns when we voiced them in the beginning of his stay and they made corrections as needed. I wish we had seen the doctors on staff more during our daily visits (but it might have been due to the fact that we just missed them.) The nurses and therapists were great and kept us updated.

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of staying there recently for about a week and a half. (Ben White location) The entire staff was so loving and caring. I could tell that they really cared about my rehab. We had fun, and they WORKED me out good! I came to feel that they were a "Band of Angels". The food is better than most, and even the kitchen staff works to make you happy. It is definitely my Rehab Facility of Choice from now on. Sue B.

Fantastic experience: I have had the pleasure of calling this my home for the past 10 wks. From the CEO to housekeeping, the staff at the Austin location have shown a genuine concern for my recovery. The therapists are amazing! They think outside the box and are dedicated to getting you moving again. They encourage friends and family to be involved in your care and they can even attend your therapy sessions. They are open to feedback and will advocate for your care. Dr Gray and Dr Jennings are amazing physicians. I would place my life in their hands any day. The whole staff here has made one of the hardest challenges in my life easier to handle with their knowledge, support, and caring hearts. They understand all aspects of rehab...physical and mental/emotional. Cannot give enough thanks and gratitude to everyone here at Healthsouth.

Fantastic experience: It is nothing less than amazing the way these folks care about and treat their patients as well as their fellow workers. I've never been to a hospital or Rehab Center where they show so much consideration, compassion, care and respect for their patients as well as their coworkers. No matter their position, no one thinks twice about doing something that is part of another person's job when it comes to caring for the patients. Doctors, nurses and therapists never think twice about asking whether the patient needs anything when the person responsible for that particular task is temporarily unavailable. And you and you don't have to wait 30 minutes to an hour for assistance after you ring the buzzer and your meds are always delivered on time. Something I definitely cannot say about some of the other facilities. They are so proactive and address issues that many doctors, therapists, case managers, dietitians, rehab centers, etc. repeatedly fail to do. Everyone, no matter what their position, goes out of their way to see that the patient, as well as their family, is comfortable, informed, educated and happy while at the facility as well as after they go home. They make a special effort to make sure that the family is educated as well. The custodial staff should also be commended for the job they do. This is probably one of the cleanest facilities that I've ever seen and they are equally accommodating as the other employees that I have mentioned. And I can't leave out the kitchen staff as they also do an exemplary job. I sincerely hope I have not left anyone out. Everyone at this facility goes above and beyond the Call of Duty. I can never say enough about how impressed I am with this facility and its employees. Trust this place for yourself or your loved ones. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: My father was a patient at Healthsouth for about three weeks. I cannot begin to describe how pleased we were. Everyone we came into contact with was friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely cared about all of the patients and their families. Doctors Manasa and Jennings were thorough and we never felt as if we were falling through the cracks. Dad got a workout in his therapies and was not allowed to slack off! The nurses and techs were stellar. I mentioned to the staff that my mom would celebrate her birthday during Dad's stay with the expectation that they would all wish her a happy birthday when they saw her. They went above and beyond. They brought in cupcakes, flowers, a balloon and bought a card for my dad to sign! Then they all converged in Dad's room to sing Happy Birthday. We truly felt like we were leaving a little family when Dad was discharged. I would recommend this care facility to anyone.
